Athrun walked down the hallway to the elevator with his brief case in his hand. He pressed the elevator door open and entered.
"Good Morning Commander ", an unfamiliar young man in an Orb uniform greeted him.
"Good Morning ", Athrun forced a smile.
He covered his mouth as he yawned. He prayed his subordinate hadn't seen that or else he would not take him seriously as his Commander.
Being sleepy was considered greatly unprofessional in the military and he worried his subordinate would judge him for that.
Athrun had not slept at all the previous night. He had stayed awake thinking about why his instinct had been insisting that something was wrong.
He knew the were Royal guards marching around just below Cagalli's room but he got up and went to the window every time he heard even the slightest sound outside. There was always nothing but he still couldn't sleep.
He wasn't really worried about himself because he knew he could protect himself. He was actually worried about Cagalli's safety.
He feared something would happen to her while he was asleep.
"Have a nice day, sir", the other guy said when the elevator doors opened.
Athrun was surprised that he hadn't even seen that the elevator had stopped. He had been too deep into his thoughts.
He walked straight to his office and sat down on his chair tiredly.
He felt so sleepy that he didn't think he would be able to do many tasks that day. In normal circumstances, he wouldn't have been so sleepy like that after a sleepless night but he had also not slept well for the past week during the war, so everything had added up.
He picked up his office telephone and dialed his assistant's office number.
"Hello, Commander ", Samantha's voice came through the phone.
"Ms. Reed, when you bring my coffee, can you please make it really really strong and extra black".
"Okay, sir, I will ", his assistant answered.
"Thank you", he said and hung up the phone.
Athrun looked up at the ceiling thinking about everything that happened the previous night and smiled.
Flashback
"What?!", Athrun gasped.
"Do you want to...see my body, do you want to see me...naked?", Cagalli asked shyly.
Her cheeks were rose red and she kept looking down shyly.
"Uh...uhm...eh...", Athrun stammered again.
Of all the questions he was expecting from Cagalli after he defeated Shura with his 'indecent fantasies', this wasn't one of them at all.
He had expected her to ask him about the fantasies, whether he was insane or not and many more questions he anticipated but he had never thought that she would ask him if he wanted to see her naked.
"Cagalli,...I...I don't think...I think you took this whole thing the wrong way", Athrun nervously chuckled, backing away from her.
As soon as she said my naked body, the member between his legs started to harden.
"What do you mean?", Cagalli asked, her gaze still fixated on the floor.
"I mean...I only fantasized about your naked body because I wanted to distract Shura, not because I want you to show it to me".
"So you don't want to see it, ever?".
"No, no...I want to see it, one day but I don't want you to force yourself ".
"I'm not forcing myself Athrun, I'm doing this willingly".
"If you had done it willingly, you would have done it without any trigger, you're doing this because of my fantasies Cagalli ".
"So you wanted me to show you but never told me before, what happened to our agreementon communication, Athrun?", she frowned.
"Cagalli, I didn't tell you to because I didn't want to pressure you into something you're not ready for...I wanted you to do it only if you came up with the idea on your own".
"What's wrong with you initiating the idea?".
"Because it's your body and I respect it if you're not ready to get naked in front of me yet", Athrun complained.
"Well if I just came in front of you naked when you didn't even ask for it, you'd think I'm too loose, that I am a whore", Cagalli snorted.
"Huh?!!", Athrun exclaimed in shock.
'Why is she like this today?, Is she drunk or something?', Athrun asked himself.
"Why would I think you're a whore?".
"Because I would have shown...", Cagalli paused, " dammit, why is it so hard for you to catch on to this Athrun?".
"Catch on to what Cagalli?, I don't understand anything you're saying!".
Cagalli sighed in defeat.
"The man should always initiate intimacy, only promiscuous women do because they like it too much", Cagalli said blushing and looking down again.
"What?!", Athrun's emerald eyes widened.
There was a pregnant silence between them. Athrun was beyond shocked by everything Cagalli was saying that night. Had she gone crazy?.
"Cagalli, are you okay?", he asked with concern in his softened emerald eyes.
"Yes, I'm fine, why are you asking that?", she frowned.
"You're saying the most absurd things today, did you drink too much today?".
"No, you idiot!, I'm not drunk and what part of what I said is absurd?", she yelled at him.
"First, you try to force yourself into getting naked in front of me when you're clearly not ready, just to make me happy and now you're saying things like 'a man should initiate intimacy and if a woman does, she's promiscuous...who the heck told you that nonsense?".
Cagalli looked down again.
"I read it from a book that Marna gave me".
There was silence again for a while. Cagalli was embarrassed beyond measure. She felt so awkward talking about intimacy.
Athrun bursted into loud laughter. He couldn't hold it anymore. Moments like these made him love Cagalli even more, it amazed him how she could be so funny without even trying.
"Hey!, why are you laughing?", she said smaking him.
"I just...Cagalli, why would Marna give you that book?, did you ask for it?...Not that I don't want you to be curious about sex but...you got the wrong information, that book is lying to you", he laughed again.
"It's written by experts you idiot, how can it be wrong?".
"It is very wrong, so wrong".
"Why?".
"Cagalli ", Athrun started getting closer to her, "intimacy has no rules, and whoever tries to make rules about it is a damn liar, intimacy is different for everyone and everyone views it differently ".
Cagalli just listened quietly. She was embarrassed to spew any more things otherwise Athrun would start behaving like he was in a stand up comedy show audience again.
"Everyone like different things during intimacy and whatever the author of that book wrote, that's their own preference, not everyone else's ", Athrun said, " No, I won't think you're a whore if you show that you want to be intimate with me, Cagalli, I actually like that. It makes me see that you're doing it because you want to not because you want to make me happy".
"Oh".
He inched closer to her and pulled her into an embrace.
"Cagalli, you know I love you right?".
"Y-yes".
"I want you to be yourself when you're with me whether it's intimacy or just normal interaction", Athrun gently smiled, " I want to be with the Cagalli that I've known all these years, not the Cagalli that's been brainwashed by stupid rules that people create".
Cagalli smiled.
"Okay, I'll stop following what our culture says and be myself ".
"Good".
Athrun smiled and hugged her tighter. He had lied when he said that he didn't want to see her naked yet.
The truth was that he longed to see her bare soft skin again but he was afraid of then not being able to control himself. He was sure he wouldn't overcome that temptation.
He had only seen her the first time they met at the island. She had been dressed like a boy but when she lifted her shirt, trying to let the crab out, he saw her soft and feminine skin for the first time.
A part of her right breast had been exposed when she lifted her shirt and Athrun hadn't realised that his gaze remained fixed on her breast.
It wasn't his first time seeing a woman's features but at that moment he was so mesmerised by her without even noticing.
"Are you still mad at me? ", he asked.
"For what?".
"For my indecent fantasies ".
"No, if you hadn't done it, you'd be dead and I'd be mourning you right now".
Athrun hummed in response. They held each other like that, just feeling each other's heartbeats. Even if the world was still in chaos, they felt content in each other's arms, being together was their most cherished comfort.

" Sir", Samantha called him for the fifth time and he still didn't hear her.
Athrun was sitting in his office chair with his head rested on the headrest on the chair. He was facing the ceiling and seemed to be in deep thought.
His eyes were open but he looked like he had drifted away in his thoughts with a smile on his face.
"Commander Zala!", Samantha yelled banging his desk.
Athrun jumped in shock.
"Ms. Reed, I hadn't noticed that you came in, I'm sorry", he nervously chuckled.
"I brought your coffee, sir", Samantha said frowning.
"Oh, thank you and what's my schedule for today?", Athrun asked taking a sip of his coffee.
It was very strong, just like he had requested.
Samantha went on to recite his schedule like she did every day but that morning was different. She wasn't as pleasant as she was whenever she had to recite his schedule. She was too mad to be pleasant.
"And that's all Commander ".
"Thank you, Ms. Reed, can you please add an appointment if it's possible? ".
"Add an appointment?!", Samantha gasped, "but commander, your schedule is already too tight, I even had to shorten most of your meetings, adding another appointment would be impossible ".
"Then you'll have to cancel one of the meetings ", he said.
"Sir, which one should I cancel?".
"Cancel the first meeting I have".
"But sir, this is with the Chief Engineer at Morganroute, I heard his schedule is also full for the rest of the day, it might be more important than the other ones, how about I cancel-".
"I'll reschedule that meeting for Friday, just tell him to submit the reports and I'll look over them tonight. This new meeting is very urgent and important so I need to have it on the first appointment".
"Alright sir", she sighed in defeat, "With whom do you want me to schedule this meeting?".
"With Sargent Hawke ", Athrun said turning on his computer.
"Meyrin?...I mean with Sargent Meyrin Hawke?", Samantha asked bitterly.
"Yes, is there a problem with that?".
"No, no, sir...I will, anything else?".
"No, you may go back to your work, Ms. Reed", he offered a polite smile.
Samantha turned around and walked slowly towards the door. She had anger and bitterness in her at that moment, first of all, he was still addressing her by her last name when she told him not to. Secondly, he completely ignored her and only spoke to her when it was necessary.
'What the heck was he thinking that made him grin like that?', she thought, 'could it be Meyrin, is that why he wants her to come to his office suddenly?'.
The thought of Meyrin just made her even angrier.
Samantha decided to return to his desk and make small talk.
"Commander, you look tired, are you alright?".
"Uh...yes, I'm fine", Athrun replied still focused on his computer.
"You know Sargent Hawke's schedule might be too tight for her to come here, right?", Samantha asked sharpening her gaze, "so if you specify the agenda of your meeting, she will try to free up her schedule if the matter looks urgent to her".
She wanted to know why he wanted her in his office on such a short notice. Samantha had always known Commander Zala's schedule to be so tight that she had to arrange it two days prior in order for all the appointments to not clash.
He had always respected his scheduled appointments and had never changed one but now he wanted to fit in an appointment so suddenly, with Meyrin Hawke of all people?.
Samantha knew that they were coworkers even at Terminal but Athrun had never scheduled an emergency appointment with her. She had a feeling that something was not right.
Was she wrong that they weren't lovers?.
"I do not need to specify the agenda, she is my subordinate and has to come to my office whenever she is summoned, nomatter how busy she is!!!!", Athrun yelled banging the table out of impatience, "Just do your job Reed!".
Samantha gasped in fear. She had never seen her boss so angry like that.
"O-okay, Commander", she stammered in shock and fear and ran out of the office.
"Dammit ", Athrun muttered sinking back into his chair.
He needed to apologise. He hadn't meant to lash out at her like that. The fear of someone potentially following Cagalli and killing her scared him to no bounds.
It's like the fear had gotten too deep into him that he had become impatient.
He needed to have that meeting with Meyrin because he wanted her to cross-check Cagalli's phone and security chips he had secretly brought to work with him.
He wanted the meeting to be first thing in the morning because he knew that if it wasn't, he wouldn't be able to concentrate on the other meetings on his schedule without having Meyrin tell him whether Cagalli has been hacked and followed or not.
Cagalli entered the Council meeting room and took her seat.
The Ministers weren't there yet because the meeting was yet to start for another ten minutes.
She braced herself for the worst now that she had to tell the ministers that their hard work in overseeing COMPASS would all go to waste.
Cagalli knew that there would always be arguments in Cabinet meetings but she was happy that at least the all ministers she had now were all on the same goal with her, to keep their country's values.
Before the second war, she had had trouble with agreeing on anything with the ministers that didn't support Orb's values as a country. Unato and his son pressured the country into chaos because of that. Cagalli had been weak then.
She was only eighteen years old when she took on the role of Orb's Chief Representative and she did not have faith in herself and her country's values. She didn't even feel confident in her decisions because she had never been taught much about politics, she had only been taught about the history of Orb and Orb's values as a country but as for politics she was not done yet learning.
But now she was confident in her decision making. She was Orb's Chief Representative and her responsibility was to keep her country safe and to not bent to anyone's pressure.
The ministers entered the room one after the other and took their seats.
"I hope you've all had a good morning ", Cagalli said confidently at the ministers.
Everyone replied well.
Cagalli had spent the previous night thinking about it. She hadn't slept much because she was too busy analysing the pros and cons of leaving COMPASS behind and she had come to a conclusion.
"I had a good morning too, Minister Kiou", Cagalli answered the old man with a polite smile.
"Well, shall we?", she asked looking at everyone.
"Yes, we may start the meeting", some of the ministers said.
"So have you managed to get in touch with Commander Yamato, Representative?", minister Haide Kiou asked.
"No", Cagalli lied confidently.
She knew telling the truth would solve nothing and only bring problems. Kira had made his decision and he wasn't coming back so telling them that she met him would seem like she was trying to protect him.
"No, we haven't been able to contact Commander Yamato", Toyah agreed, "we have now officially listed him as M.I.A. We haven't been able to get a reply or at least a signal from him".
Cagalli kept looking at the ministers confidently. She didn't want too look down and raise suspicion.
The ministers started complaining.
"It's already been three days, what are we going to do with the demands from the Eurasian Federation?!", one of the ministers asked.
"Representative Attha, the Eurasian Federation is still demanding for Commander Yamato to come out and face his actions", minister Kiou said worriedly, "Commander Yamato has to come out and speak otherwise COMPASS will be labelled as a terrorist group therefore endangering our country's neutral stance to the whole world ".
"We need to get COMPASS back in action as soon as possible. The blue Cosmos have already taken over a territory in the North African region", a female minister said, "it is not a huge territory but it's a small chip producing town. Our intel also tells us that they might be planning to start producing their own mass driver there".
"This doesn't sound good at all Representative Attha ", another minister said, " now more than ever, they need to be stopped. We as a neutral country cannot interfere with other countries battles but COMPASS can do that effectively for us".
Cagalli kept silent for a moment. When she had first brought up the idea of COMPASS to the ministers, they automatically loved it. Because it it gave everyone a common ground to meet on.
All the ministers were on board to keep their country neutrality just like her father but they feared that if the blue Cosmos were to gain power again Orb being invaded again for its mass driver and power would be inevitable.
"It's high time we terminate COMPASS' operations...forever", Cagalli said, "it's high time COMPASS ceases to exist ".
Everyone in the room was shocked.
"What?!!", most of the ministers asked in unison.
"Representative Attha, this is not-".
"I'm sorry to cut you off, minister Toshiba but this is my final decision and if all of you would like to argue with me about it, you'll just be wasting your time", Cagalli said firmly.
"Representative Attha, if COMPASS ceases to exist the Blue Cosmos will regain their power, which is what we have worked so hard to prevent!", minister Haide Kiou spat, " are you trying to cause another tragedy like the one that happened during the first plant alliance war?".
"No, not at all minister Kiou, with all due respect, I value your opinions on this matter but let's face the actual facts here", Cagalli said sternly, " bringing back COMPASS in action without clear clarification of what happened during the war will only cause more turmoil. Don't forget that everyone knows who the sponsors and overseers of COMPASS are. The Blue Cosmos and Eurasian Federation have been accusing COMPASS of being a terrorist organisation and if you actually think about it clearly, they have a right to. Their territory was attacked unprovoked and even though it was a plot by the Foundation, the perpetrator was COMPASS' leader".
There was still unrest amongst the ministers.
"So at this point we're still going to be attacked by the blue Cosmos if we get COMPASS back in action ", Cagalli continued, "If their enemy is COMPASS, they'll not only target it but also our countryfor sponsoring it".
"So, we're just going to let the Blue Cosmos gain power and eventually attack us?, how brilliant?", minister Toshiba said sarcastically, bitterness laced in his voice.
"No, we are not going to just sit and do nothing", Cagalli defended herself.
"So then what are we going to do?", minister Kiou asked.
Cagalli braced herself to say something she had never thought she would.
"We're going to create more mobile suits and equip them with N-Gemer Cancellers", she said firmly.
"What?!"
"That's preposterous!!".
"Representative, are you out of your mind?".
They all started murmuring and yelling in shock.
"And we're also going to cyclops system around our waters, it's not the one that'll explod but it'll be an electric shock wave cyclop system, which will electrocute any ship or fleet that approaches our waters", Cagalli continued not minding what the ministers were saying at all.
She knew the right thing to do was to listen to the ministers but at that moment she knew the circumstances at hand more than they did. They were placing their hopes on Kira who unbeknownst to them wasn't coming back.
"Representative Attha!, you know that will threaten our reputation as a neutral country", minister Kiou complained.
"And bringing COMPASS back will threaten our neutral reputationeven more ".
"Representative, our neutral stance will not be threatened by COMPASS because we are not the only ones involved with it, there's the Atlantic Federation and the PLANTS too", minister Toshiba said.
"May I remind you that they have both left the overseeing of COMPASS, minister Toshiba ", Cagalli said politely.
"Because Commander Yamato has not come back to clear things up, Representative Attha", a female minister said, "I think we should be more patient as far as this situation is concerned ".
"Commander Yamato might not come back", Cagalli said, " so it would be wiser to stop putting our hopes on him".
"You seem so sure that he is not coming back, as if you've been communicating with him, Representative ", minister Mahina Sahaku said with sharp eyes.
Cagalli's heart skipped a beat.
"No, minister Sahaku, I am simply using my knowledge of Commander Yamato. He is an upright man who is always willing to face both the world's problems and his own mistakes if needed", Cagalli said firmly, continuing to fake her confidence, "I know him well to know that if he hasn't come at this point, he is highly likely to not come back at all".
The ministers started murmuring amongst themselves again, letting out complaints and whatever they were talking to each other about.
The noise got louder in the room and Cagalli just wished she were a judge so that she could hit the hammer against the table and shout "silence in court!". But anyway she felt relieved to have got what she wanted to say off her chest.
"So, I've seen that you might not agree with me on this but we have no other choice", Cagalli said, "so I'll give everyone time to think. If you have better ideas, I'll happily accept your new proposals on what we should do. We will have another meeting about this a week's time, if we do not have a better proposal than this then, we will have to go on and cease COMPASS and start a major upgrade in our defence systems".
Cagalli said and got out of the office leaving the ministers to their discussions. Some ministers left too.
"Toyah, please tell my assistant to schedule that new meeting for me", Cagalli ordered.
"Okay, I'll do so, Cagalli-sama".
They walked to Cagalli's office. It had been a stressful hour long meeting but she still had other duties to fulfil that day. She had to go to a lot of places too.
Athrun was working on his computer when he heard a knock on his office door.
"Come in", he said, his gaze still fixated on the figures and statistics on his computer screen.
"Good Morning Commander, I heard you wanted to see me", Meyrin said.
"Uh...Meyrin, nice to see you here, please take a seat", he said politely.
"Nice to see you too Commander", Meyrin smiled politely.
"I'm really sorry for summoning you unexpectedly but I have a task that I want to be carried out and I wouldn't trust anyone but you to carry it out...and I need it done right now before I get to any of the meetings I have today ", Athrun said.
"Alright sir, what would that be?", Meyrin asked hesitantly, wondering what it was that was so urgent for her ever punctual boss.
"This", Athrun took a phone from his coat's pocket, "is Cagalli's personal cellphone".
"Eh?!", Meyrin exclaimed in shock, "you want me to check Representative Attha's personal phone?!!".
"Y-yes, something like that".
"No, no, no commander, I cannot check that phone, what if make a mistake and leave traces of my hacking in there and get caught?".
"You won't get caught, I promise, and even if you do, I will explain the situation to her".
"Sir, if you want to see if she's been messaging anyone secretly, you can just open her Messenger app and go to the archives, you don't need ethical hacking for that".
"No, no, no, this is not what you're thinking Meyrin ", Athrun let out a light chuckle.
'Why are women so quick to assume infidelity all the time?', he questioned himself, 'why do they think so low of us as guys?'.
"So, what do you want me to do with it?", Meyrin asked with utter confusion.
She wondered why else a guy would want to search through his lover's personal cellphone unless they suspected infidelity. She had known Athrun to be a very respectful person and not even one day had she ever thought that he would stoop as low as searching through his partner's phone behind her back. Was he too scared of her to look through it with her consent?.
"I want you to check every chip in this phone for any kind of hacking or tracking", Athrun said handing her the phone, "how long do you think the process would take?".
"About a few minutes ".
"That's good, then you can do it here in my office and give me feedback right?".
"Yes sir, may I use your computer for that sir?".
"Of course ", Athrun said and got off his seat.
Meyrin connected Cagalli's phone to the computer and started punching in the codes and indexes while Athrun paced impatiently around the room.
Samantha huffed and vigorously threw her pen across the room.
It had been almost half an hour since Meyrin entered Commander Zala's office and she was getting pissed off already.
She had tried to be patient and give them the benefit of doubt. Why did her boss treat her like that?. She had worked hard to create his schedule. Creating schedules in the aftermath of big events like a war was the most difficult part of her job.
Everyone would always be so busy that she has to literally beg and get on her knees to beg them to adjust their schedules so that their meetings with Commander Zala would be in favor of his schedule.
And he was willing to throw away all of that just to have a meeting with Meyrin?, why her? what was so special about her that he has to abandon his important meetings in order to summon her to his office?.
'Maybe...maybe I was wrong about them not being together?', she thought.
"Dammit", she cursed and pushed a few files of her desk.
She quickly regretted that useless act and began to pick and rearrange the scattered files from the floor.
'I need to stop this useless whining and think straight ', she thought.
An idea got into her head.
She sat back down onto her desk, picked up the telephone and dialed a number.
The line rang two times and someone answered.
"Human Resources Manager's office, how can I help you?", a male voice sounded through the phone.
"Uh, Good Morning, I'm Commander Zala's assistant and I would like to request Sargent Meyrin Hawke's personal file in your database, please", she asked with a sweet pretentious voice.
"Umm, sorry ma'am but we cannot give you that, it's confidential ", the voice said.
"I know but I am required to have the copy of those files for everyone that comes into Commander Zala's office, for security reasons".
After some negotiations, they send her the file.
She knew that if she was going to find out more about her and the Commander, she needed to become her friend and get some answers out of her. So the personal file would at least help her find some things she might have in common with Meyrin so that she can try to start a friendship with her.
"Well...there's absolutely no trace on any hacking in this phone sir", Meyrin said.
Athrun's pacing came to an abrupt halt.
"Are you sure about that?, have you really checked everything?".
"Yes, there's absolutely nothing here, except for a tracking chip in here".
"Oh, that one", Athrun said with embarrassment.
He is the one that put that tracking device in Cagalli's phone unbeknownst of her. He not only put a tracking chip in her phone but also in the ring he gave her.
Even though he did it to keep her safe incase she goes missing, he still felt embarrassed to appear as an obsessive boyfriend over Cagalli.
"Thank you very much Meyrin", Athrun sighed, "you may go back to your work".
Meyrin got off the seat and started walking to the door.
Of course, he now had proof that no one was stalking Cagalli but his frustration grew even bigger. He still felt like it wasn't enough because his instinct kept making him feel like they weren't really alone during that meeting with Kira.
"Wait!", Athrun called for Meyrin again before she reached the door.
"I just remembered something", he said, "we have bird spy robots in Orb right?".
"I have heard so", Meyrin said.
"Can you please get the data from every robot bird we have, I need their gps history ".
"But sir that will take more than a few days to get that data".
"I'll give you a two week paid leave for that...please I need your help, this is really a matter of life or death", Athrun pleaded with her.
Athrun was never the type of person to beg or plead but he was getting desperate. He needed to know if Cagalli's life was in danger or not.
"Alright sir, so when will my leave start?", Meyrin asked excitedly, "I mean, when will I start doing the task?".
"Today, I'll authorise it today".
"Huh?!, today but-".
"I know it's unexpected but this is an emergency Meyrin".
"Okay, Commander, but it will only take like 3 days in order to gather all of that information, so will I have to-".
"No", he cut her off, "you don't have to come back to work. I am giving you two weeks in compensation for bothering you ...and...everything you've done for me and Cagalli so far".
"Okay...thank you sir, I'll get to it".
She left the office.
Athrun sighed and sat back down on his chair. He started going through his schedule again and realised he was 15 min late for a meeting.
"Dammit!", he cursed as he ran to the conference room.
A few hours had gone by and it was lunch time for everyone.
Instead of going out for lunch Cagalli remained in her office.
"Should I order your lunch from the restaurant nearby Representative?", her assistant asked.
"No, I'm fine, I just need to be left alone please", Cagalli said.
Everyone did as she said and left her office.
She had done most of the stuff on her schedule that day and her paperwork was up to date so she basically had nothing to do after lunch.
She had planned on taking a nap during that time but something else came up in her mind.
She reached for her cellphone in her pocket and surprisingly it wasn't there.
"Oh, great, I must have forgotten it at home", she said in frustration.
She turned on her computer and clicked on the search engine.
'Is this okay to do?', she thought, 'what if someone catches me?'.
She sighed in exhaustion. It had been a long day for her and she needed to focus on herself for a moment but she doubted if she would be able to do what she wanted to do without getting caught.
Of course, no one would reprimand her if she were to get caught but she surely would be embarrassed.
"Dammit, if anyone sees it it's their own problem not mine", she snorted.
She put the incognito mode on and typed in her search words.
"Does losing your virginity hurt?"
Thousands of articles came up and she picked only three of them to read.
She examined every little detail pointed out in the articles and compared those experiences.
"So some guys might feel pain too when they lose their virginity?...hmm,...interesting ", she nodded.
Once she was satisfied, she closed the tabs and typed in another question.
"Is sex between Coordinator and Natural different from Natural and Natural or Coordinator and Coordinator couples different?"
All the articles from experts pointed out that there was no difference at all. The only difference would be in the genetics of children that are born amongst those three types of couples.
"Children?!, I'm not ready for that!", she said in panic.
That's when she realised that she had not given a thought to the fact that she would get pregnant if she had sex with Athrun.
Of course she wanted to start a family with him someday but she wasn't ready for that yet.
She opened another tab in the search engine and typed in another search.
"which birth control is the most effective?"
Hundreds of articles popped up again. She clicked the video comparing types of birth control methods.
She plugged in her earphones and started listening to multiple videos on the topic.
The videos were more focused on women talking about their experiences with each type of birth control.
She knew that all birth control methods were now advanced in terms of preventing pregnancy but she wanted to choose the one that wouldn't give her too many side effects.
After listening to the videos for a while, she turned her computer off.
"So the implant would be the right choice for me, plus it will work for three years", she said it out loud to herself.
"What implant?", she heard a voice and she jumped out of her chair in shock.
There was Athrun standing in the corridor leading to the entrance of her office.
"Athrun!, when...did you get here?", Cagalli stammered.
"Just a few seconds ago, why haven't you gone out for lunch Cagalli? ", Athrun frowned at her, "have you at least ordered something to eat?".
He asked not only because he was worried she was starving herself but also because since he thought she had gone out for lunch, he had come to secretly dump her phone that he had stolen that morning.
"Uh...I..., I have already ordered something and ate", Cagalli nervously chuckled.
"I hope you're telling the truth, Cagalli".
"Y-yes, of course, why would I lie to you?", she lied.
"Hmm".
"W-what brings you here anyway?", she said nervously.
She quickly took the earphones and hid them in her pocket. Her heart was racing fast because of the fear that Athrun would see what she was watching on her computer.
"I..I came to give you your phone, you forgot it at the dining table in the morning ", he lied.
"Oh, thank you".
"What were you doing on your computer, it's lunch time, you need to get some rest, my love", he said inching closer to her.
Cagalli moved back in response to Athrun's surprise.
"I...uh...I...I was just checking a few things, not that big of a deal anyway", she stammered, "plus, I don't have anything to do until the end of the day".
"Cagalli...what are you trying to hide behind you?".
"N-nothing, I just...".
"What were you doing on your computer that you don't want me to know about?".
"I...uh, it's really nothing Athrun, why would I hide anything from you anyway?".
"Yes, that's a good question, why would you hide anything from me anyway?".
He launched at her in a split second and grabbed her into a stiff position where she couldn't move both her hands a all.
"Athrun!, hey let go of me you idiot!".
His right hand crossed her upper body, holding her into position. She tried to struggle against him but his grip was too strong. His Coordinator strength always amazed her. How could he be able to hold her as tight as that with just one hand.
"I need to see what you are hiding from me", he said while still holding the struggling girl in place.
"Athrun please don't, it's my privacy ".
"I know but if you're desperately trying to hide it it means you might be doing something that might put you in danger Cagalli and I'm not going to let you get a tracking implant from someone else, what if they leak your location to someone who wants to assassinate you!", he tried to reason with her.
"Tracking implant?", Cagalli asked with confusion.
"Yes, the one you were talking to yourself about, the one you said would be good for you and would last three years".
"The implant is not for tracking my location you absolute freaking idiot!".
"Then what is it for?".
"It's a birth control method you bonehead!".
"Cagalli you shouldn't...wait, birth control?", his emerald orbs widened, "you mean birth control...as in...contraception?".
"Yes, you dimwit!, now let go of me!".
Athrun froze in his position. He didn't know what to say. He turned on the computer to see if she was telling the truth and there it was, the video she had been watching.
He slowly loosened his grip on her and she immediately dragged herself out of it.
"Are you satisfied now?!", she yelled in frustration.
"Uh...", Athrun said, still finding it hard to find words to speak.
Cagalli's cheeks turned blood red. She tried to hide her blushing.
"Cagalli,...why?...why were you searching for this of all things?".
"Because if I'm not ready to pregnant so I need to know which birth control methods has the least side effects on my body", she said looking down in embarrassment.
"Cagalli we've talked about this, we're not having sex until you're ready for it, I won't-".
"I'm ready for it, Athrun", she cut him off.
"Eh?!..", Athrun's eyes widened even more, "Cagalli-".
"This is not about what happened earlier Athrun. It's not about you, it's about me", Cagalli said.
"About...you?".
"Yes".
"Sweetheart, we don't have to rush if you-".
"I want to have sex with you, Athrun ", she said abruptly cutting him off.
"Huh?", he said in shock.
"Yes, you heard right, I want us to have sex, I've been thinking about it and I know that I'm ready for this".
"Cagalli, you cannot make such a life changing decision in one day, we only talked about this yesterday and-".
"It's not about what happened yesterday, Athrun...I...I have been thinking about it for a while now, ever since we reconciled ", she looked down to hide her red cheeks.
"Ever since we got back together?", Athrun asked in total shock.
He knew Cagalli was a hot headed person but he always thought she was weigh too innocent to have those kind of thoughts.

Athrun's eyes widened and he immediately grabbed her hand and removed it from his pants.
"Wait a minute, Cagalli ", Athrun said sitting up straight.

Cagalli was silent for a while and Athrun knew she was disappointed. He pushed the strands of hair from her face and place them behind her ear.
"Sweetheart, look at me", he said gently tilting her head so he could look into her eyes, "if you're frustrated that the sensation between your...um legs, there's another way I can help you dealt with it".
"What way?".
"Come on, follow me".
He stood up and went into the bathroom in Cagalli's office. Cagalli hesitated at first but then entered the bathroom too because she trusted him. However she was confused, she had no idea what he wanted to do.
Athrun locked the bathroom door. Fortunately the bathroom was large enough.

She pulled out of the kiss quickly and tried to move away but Athrun's grip on her back was stronger.
"What are you...?, you stopped me from touching the inside of your pants and now you want to touch mine?", she asked angrily gawking at how unfair Athrun was being.
"Do you want me to help you with the frustrating sensations or not?".
"I want to".
"So then you have to relax and trust the process", he smiled at her.
"O-okay", she said in a low voice.

Cagalli smiled in the crook of his neck. Being with Athrun was the best feeling in the world. Just the mere gesture of holding her in his arms made it seem like all the troubles she had had disappeared.
She felt safer in Athrun's arms more than being surrounded by ten bodyguards. She didn't only feel physically safe but also emotionally.
"I'm hungry", she blurted out.
Athrun chuckled.
"So you were lying when you said you had already eaten", he smiled.
"Yes, I just didn't want you to worry".
"Okay, then let's go-".
"No, let's stay here, like this, don't let go of me, please ", Cagalli cut him off.
"Okay...I'll order something from a nearby restaurant then".
He took out his cellphone.
"What do you want to eat?", Athrun asked, "I'm getting the shrimp rice and miso soup".
"I want monjayaki and fermented beans".
"Huh?", Athrun was sure Cagalli wanted to order that just to disgust him.
"What's the problem?", Cagalli asked with confusion.
"Uh...nothing ".
Athrun never liked things that looked disgusting, nomatter how good they tasted. He always liked neat looking food but he didn't want to ruin the moment so he didn't protest.
After ordering the food, they occupied Cagalli's office desk while they enjoyed their respective meals.
Athrun tried all means to keep Cagalli's food out of his view because he was certain that he would end up vomiting.
Her food smelled good but the look wasn't appealing in his eyes at all.
"Hmmm, this tastes so good, they made it even better than the one I ate last week", Cagalli said, "do you wanna taste it Athrun?".
"No!, no, I'm good", he immediately rejected with a nervous chuckle.
He had hoped that she wouldn't ask him to taste her food like she often does whenever they eat together. But now that she did he braced himself for a verbal tug of war because he knew that Cagalli would never give up until she got what she wanted.
"Come on, Athrun, it's just monjayaki", she said confidently.
"Cagalli, you've already made me taste that before ", he complained.
"But you haven't tasted it with fermented beans yet, it tastes much better than plain monjayaki".
"No, Cagalli, I'm good ".
"Please?", she asked with sad puppy eyes.
"No, Cagalli, eat your food".
She ate in silence from there onwards.
"So how did the ministers take it?", he asked.
"Take what?", she asked in a low voice, seemingly uninterested in the conversation.
"The COMPASS issue, you told them right?".
"Yes", Cagalli answered with the same low voice again.
Athrun noticed her mood change and sighed in defeat.
"Cagalli, are you mad at me for not wanting to taste your food?".
"No, I'm not", she childishly shrugged.
"So then why are you so drowsy all of a sudden?".
"Nothing ".
He sighed again.
"Okay, I'll taste it but just one spoon okay?".
"Really?!", she excitedly asked.
"Yes", he said in an annoyed tone.
Cagalli was not mad at all. It was just an act. An act she always played on Athrun to make him do whatever she wanted.
She scooped a spoon and put it in his mouth.
Athrun winced while chewing the food. She was right when she said it tasted good but the slime like texture almost made him vomit.
"How is it?", she smiled.
"Good", he said gulping a whole glass of water to get rid of the slime textured remnants in his mouth.
"I told you it tasted really good but I'm sorry if the texture is bad for you".
"No it's okay", he lied.
"The ministers didn't take it well at all".
"That's expected ".
"Yeah, but I have no other choice".
He kept looking at her while she narrated the whole ordeal. He was mesmerised by her cuteness and beauty.
He was also so proud of her. She had done what most people their age wouldn't survive doing, which is ruling a country.
He knew his love for her would never end no matter what. She was his breath of fresh air and the apple of his eyes.
"Hmm, now that I've thought about it, she actually made a good move, for both herself and us", Yama said while swinging his father's office chair.
"How?", Mahina Sahaku frown at his son.
"Think about it father, if Orb becomes the most powerful military superpower on earth, we will have the power to build our own Requiem", Yama grinned.
"She doesn't want that at all, she won't a proposal like that".
"Not her father, I mean us, when we take the power from her and you become Representative instead of her", Yama said.
"Well, we've tried to do everything to take that away from her but nothing has succeeded, we have to accept defeat son", the older man reasoned, "her work is too clean for us to find something to use against her".
"No, father I won't give up!".
"Then what do you suggest we do?".
Yama was so frustrated. They had been trying to catch her red handed for years but Cagalli was always several steps ahead of them.
Their ploy against her started even before the second war. Mahina had agreed with the Seirans and other corrupt ministers not because he wanted Orb to form an alliance with the Atlantic Federation but because he wanted Cagalli to authorise that and mess things up for Orb.
If things had worked that way, he had vowed to prosecute Cagalli and make her lose her Representative status because of treason to the nation's ideals but things didn't work the way he wanted them to when she got kidnapped by the freedom before signing the treaty.
His hatred for Cagalli increased when Cagalli chose Toyah Mashima instead of his son to be her successor.
"Or perhaps ", the old man said.
"Perhaps what?".
"Orb's ideals are not only to keep the country neutral but to also keep the Royal Families purely noble", Mahina Sahaku said smiling, "and Royal Noble families of Orb are obligated to marry or procreate only with each other...and since amongst the four families left, you're the only one her age...it means you're the only one suitable to marry her".
"Marry her?!!", Yama was shocked, "me...marry that spoiled brat?".
"Do you have another choice?. You have no choice and neither does she. Every royal in Orb is required to marry another Noble, even if they adopt a child, they have to do it with another Noble, it is required by Orb ideals", the old man said.
