Chapter two

Never have I ever been so wrong

"Booth.." Was everything Brennan could get out. He sat there waiting for her to turn to meet his stare. She sat back and tilted her head in Booth's direction. "Why?" She asked. He only shrugged as she drank. Everyone knew it was Brennan he meant. They must have. So why not just drink?

"Never have I ever not told my girlfriend about this." Hannah scoffed. Booth didn't even turn in her direction.

"It wasn't my place to say." He said quickly.

"Oh and this was?" Now it was Brennan's turn to scoff at him. "Okay, you wanna play? Let's play.." She said firmly and sat up straight. "Never have I ever told someone that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with them and then when they got scared I told them that I had to move on after not even 30 seconds and then I leave for 7 months and come back with a blond bimbo" She glanced at Hannah quickly. "No offence, Hannah"

"None taken" Hannah scoffed as she folded her arms over her chest and glanced at Booth as he drank.

"Never have I ever written an entire book about someone and being married with them and being pregnant with them and then I ran away for six weeks and then when I got home and the person confessed their love for me, I said no and then I ran away for another 7 months." Booth shot back. Brenna didn't drink for that one because everyone knew about that. Everyone knew why she had written it and why she had run away for those weeks.

"Never have I ever rubbed it in someone's face that I'm moving on by taking every chance there is to kiss my significant other in front of them" Brennan said through the cracks in her voice. At this point it felt like they were waiting for someone to crack and make it all stop. They were being mean towards each other, exposing their deepest secrets.

In the beginning it had been fun, just something to get some tension in the room, but now Brennan felt uneasy and didn't know how to handle the situation anymore. Should she run away and never look back? Now they all knew what she had done. Instead, Booth cleared his voice.

"Never have I ever spent so much time with someone's son that the only person that the son wants them to have as a girlfriend is me" Booth said almost smiling, he knew how much his son loved Brennan, he adored her.

The statement made Brennan's heart flutter. Parker had said that, to Booth. She knew that she and Parker had a strong Bond, but she didn't know that he felt that way. This gave her some courage. She poured herself a shot and held it in front of her.

"Never have I ever thought that when I got back from my sabbatical that I would have a chance with the love of my life, but it just so happens that they actually moved on and they seem so much happier than you ever could make them and now you're sitting alone in a group of couples and you don't know if you'll ever find love because you lost the only chance at real love" She glanced at him. "Oh wait, that's me too" She said and took the shot.

Booth was taken aback from her statement. She had said no. She had pushed him away and said that she couldn't change, not that he wanted her to change. He hadn't said that to her. She hadn't said that she needed time. And space. To think things over. What they could have been. If he would have known that, he would never have gotten together with Hannah.

"Never have I ever thought that you would change your mind at the airport and ask if I could wait for you to be ready, because if you would have done that, none of this would have happened and we might have actually been together right now" Booth said firmly. "Oh, wait."

He said and drank the last bit of liquor from his glass and slammed it down on the table. Making everyone jump except Brennan.

"Never have I ever been done with this game" Brennan said with a voice filled with tears and grabbed the whiskey in front of her, stood up and left the room. Booth sat frozen in his chair staring at the spot that Brennan had left empty.

"Seeley" He heard in the distance. "Seeley." Hannah repeated herself. He turned to her and met her eyes. "Is all of that true?" She asked firmly. "Do you love her?"

"What was that, Hodgins? You need help cleaning up?" Sweets spoke up and pointed towards the kitchen.

"Yeah, yeah, that's what I said." Hodgins said and walked with Sweets to the kitchen. Angela and Cam looked at each other and walked in the direction that Brennan had gone.

"Well?" Hannah asked. Booth sighed and shifted his weight on the love seat. He didn't really know what had happened. Why it had happened.

"I.." Was all he got out. Hannah got out of the seat and stood in front of him. "I do love you" He whispered.

"But I'm just a rebound?" She asked. "Until she was ready?"

"That's not.. I never thought she would be." He said, glancing down at the table, not knowing where to look.

"Look at me and tell the truth." She said, making him turn his attention to her. "Did all of those things happen?"

"Yes, they did, of course they did." He said louder this time. "I've known Bones for 6 years. Of course things would happen along the way. That's how our relationship started for fucks sake." He told her and stood up. He walked a few feet away from her. "Before we even started working together there was a connection. You must be blind if you can't see it." He said quietly.

"Of course I've seen it. The way you two can hold a conversation with just your eyes, and leave everyone else out of it. I've been there too many times. The way you would do anything for her. That you could let go of everything just to go see if she was okay." She said. "Was this going to last? Us?" She asked him with a hint of sadness in her voice.

"I honestly don't know. I hoped it would." He said gently. To be completely honest, the two of them hadn't been okay for weeks. They both always found an excuse to never be home at the same time and when they were, it wasn't like they had sex. They slept in the same bed but didn't touch each other. Booth knew the reason, it was always the reason, but he didn't want to abandon a good relationship. If you could call it that.

"I'm not the one for you. I never was." She said as she realised it. "I shouldn't have come to DC." She added. Her frame stood tall. "So, this is it then?" She asked.

"I guess it is." He said, shrugging his shoulders.

"I'll be out of the apartment before you come home." She said and walked out. "I'll take a cab" She added before he could ask her if he could drive her home.

When he heard the door close behind her, he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in. His hands landed on his hips and he glanced around the room. Empty. He sighed and walked into the kitchen.

Brennan stood in the middle of the backyard trying to get a chance to breathe. To fill her lungs with oxygen. She brought the bottle up to her lips and drank until it burned in her throat. The lid dug into her palm as she gripped it tightly in her hand. What the hell happened in there? She couldn't even believe how the night ended the way it did. Now Hannah knew everything, she wouldn't let her see Booth anymore. Let alone work with him.

She put the lid back on the whiskey and let the bottle fall to the ground. A shaky breath filled her lungs and left it seconds later. "Sweetie?" She heard behind her. A sigh left her lips and she turned around. "What was that?" Angela asked softly.

"I.." Brennan got out and shook her head. "We had unresolved subjects that somehow found it's way into tonight's game." She said as she questioned her own sentence.

"You can say that again." Angela scoffed and folded her arms over her chest.

"I said; We had unresolved subjects-" Brennan started but Cam held up her hand.

"Figure of speech" She said simply and Brennan hummed. "What did you guys talk about before dinner? He pulled you away into the other room." Cam wondered.

"I.. He.. After Lauren Eames' case, when he saved me from being run over by a car, he drove me home. I had insisted on being alone but he wouldn't let me." Brennan started. "In the car I had told him how I felt, that I made a mistake last year." She sighed. "I eventually let him come up to my apartment, there was a part of me that didn't want to be alone after all."

She paused and she gestured towards the patio furniture. They walked over to them and sat down. "When we got up to my apartment everything was quiet. I could hear the way he took a shaky breath as I walked past him. I could hear the way he paced the living room floor as I changed out of my wet clothes." She thought of the night, focusing on every detail. "When I got back out into the living room I was sure he was gone because the noise stopped. But there he sat on one of my barstools." She showed half a smile. "He.. He told me that he never wanted us to be like this. That he thought that after that night, that the only thing we would ever be, was friends." She got out when her smile faded.

"What night?" Cam asked.

"The night Booth wanted to give us a chance." Brennan sighed.

"Oh.." Cam whispered.

"And I told him- I told him that I never said that I didn't love him." Her voice cracked with the last words. "He just looked at me. He had this pain in his eyes. This pain that I can't even describe." She sighed. "We just sat there in my kitchen for an hour, looking at each other." She paused. Cam and Angela looked at each other. "I've never felt that kind of intimacy before." She picked at her nails. "After a while I told him that he couldn't be there when he had his girlfriend at home. I told him that he shouldn't look at me like he does."

"But what made you guys lash out tonight?" Angela asked softly.

"He told me that he would never stop looking at me like he did, because I was his bones. And I like that." Brennan continued. "But when the night got later I put my head against his shoulder and I asked him if we would ever get past this." She sighed and glanced up at the women in front of her. "He said no." She got out and wiped away the tears that escaped from her eyes. "I told him that he should leave. That we should take some time from each other." She told them. "And that's when it started."

"He really said no?" Cam asked. Brennan nodded softly.

"He stood up abruptly from the couch and looked at me. He said 'Time? Is that what you need? Again? We had 7 fucking months of time'." She mimicked the way he yelled at her. "And I told him 'Yeah, and what did you do during that time, huh? Fucked around and found someone else'."

"Who does he think he is?" Angela commented.

"He yelled 'You broke my fucking heart, Bones. What was I supposed to do? Wait?'." The tears fell freely from her eyes. "I yelled back at him 'YES, yes you were' and broke down. He just stood there frozen, staring at me. After a while he walked up to me as I backed up against the wall. He stood so close, I could feel his breath on my lips." She told them.

"Hot." Angela chuckled. Cam nudged her and she scoffed. "Sorry."

"He put his hands beside my head and said 'Don't you know how much it hurt to walk away from you that day and not to see your face everyday. But being with you hurt even more. Knowing everyday that you're the one that broke me.' He told me 'You can't decide that we need more time when all you want is time, you don't want this' gesturing in between us. 'You don't want it. So if you want time, fine, I'll give you all the time you need. Forever'." She cried. "He stepped away and punched the wall beside me. I grasped his arm and whispered, because that's all I could do, I told him 'That's not what I want' I paused and I met his eyes, they were filled with confusion. 'I want you' I whispered before he left my apartment." She said gently. "Then we didn't talk until tonight."

"Oh"

"Wow" The pair in front of Brennan were shocked. "That would have done it." Cam scoffed.

"And here we are." Brennan said softly and glanced down at her hands.

"Wow." Angela repeated.

"And you just left?" Hodgins asked Booth.

"What the hell was I supposed to do? I had a girlfriend at home, I couldn't stay there." Booth exclaimed. "She can't just say stuff like that and think- I'll always love her, you guys know that." Sweets and Hodgins nodded. "She must know that too, and I just, I thought I loved Hannah, I thought I was over Bones." Booth sighed. "But that will never happen and now I blew my last chances with her." He got out and rubbed his face. "And the worst part is that she knew what she was doing. She was making me say all of those things in front of Hannah, making her see that Hannah wasn't right- That she-"

"Okay, no, no, you dropped the bomb, Booth." Hodgins cut in. "You brought up the baby thing, not Brennan." He said. "You started it, end of story." Booth shot him a death glare and opened his mouth to answer him but Sweets cleared his throat.

"Where is Hannah?" Sweets asked curiously.

"We, ah, we broke up, apparently." Booth couldn't believe the words that left his mouth.

"Then what's the problem?" Hodgins asked. "You guys are both single now." He stated.

"The problem- The problem is that-" Booth started but stopped because he didn't really know what the problem was. "The problem is that we're broken." He whispered.

"Then fix it." Sweets told him firmly.

"How? How do I fix something so broken?" Booth exclaimed and punched the kitchen island. "How do I fix it? How do I make us work again?" He sighed. "I'm just gonna go home, I can't be here anymore. Thanks for having me, it's been- yeah." Booth told them and walked out to the entrance again. There she was, putting on her coat. Booth stopped dead in his tracks and just admired her. His face fell neutral, stuck in his cloud of regret.

She saw him entering the room. She heard it in his steps. The ones that she heard almost every day. Her eyes traveled up his body and they landed on his coffee brown orbes. The ones that she fell in love with all those years ago. How did everything go so wrong?

"Uhm, I was just leaving." Booth got out.

"So was I." Brennan said softly and glanced down at her shoes. She had worn boots today, which made her shorter than usual. He stood a few feet away but he noticed the few inches that were missing. Making her look tiny compared to him.

"Yeah, I, uhm." Booth stuttered. There they stood, just the two of them. This could be it, where they mend the broken and move forward. This could be that moment. "Did you drive here?" He asked quietly.

"I, oh, no, I didn't" She stuttered. He grabbed his coat and put it on.

"Do you.. ah.. Do you want me to drive you home?" He asked with some hesitation.

"Where's Hannah?" She asked instead of answering his question.

"She left." He said simply and shrugged. She glanced at his face, she admired the contours of his cheeks and the way his eyes felt like home.

"I don't know.." She now answered his question as they left the house. Booth closed the door behind them and guided her to his car by placing his hand on the comfortable spot on her lower back. She slowed down as they got closer to the SUV. "Listen.." She started.

"No, uhm, let me." He interrupted her. She glanced up into his soft eyes. "I, uhm, owe you an apology." He told her. She was taken aback by what he said. He wanted to apologize? "I shouldn't have said those things in there.. It was in the heat of the moment and I was so mad And it wasn't my place to say most- all of those things." He struggled with the words. "I can't take them back, I know that, I fucked up big time." He added.

"I messed up too. I shouldn't have called your girlfriend a blonde bimbo and I shouldn't have gotten so mad at you for no apparent reason. This is not how I wanted tonight to go, I was supposed to be civil and not take what happened the other night and blow it out of proportion." She rambled on as he opened the passenger door for her. She still hadn't said yes to the ride home.

"Ex" He simply said and smiled. The smile was genuine, it had been less than an hour since Hannah left, and he felt free in a way. He had had this weight on his shoulder for weeks. He had seen the sadness take over Brennan's body during the time he had spent with Hannah and it had weighed him down more than he knew. Now that weight was gone.

"Huh?" Brennan asked in confusion.

"You said girlfriend. It's my ex-girlfriend." He repeated. She tilted her head in question.

"I made you break up? No please go be with her, save your relationship, Booth." She said backing away from the car. "She made you so happy." Her voice cracked as she stepped further away from him.

"It wasn't meant to be saved." Booth said gently. "Let me drive you home safely." He had sobered up quite a bit since they last drank.

"Are you sure?" She asked hesitantly.

"It's just a ride home. Nothing else." He smiled. Was this just the calm before the storm again? Had they gotten out the anger and sorrow? Or was there more to come?

"Nothing else?" She asked. She didn't want him to do anything fresh out of another relationship just an hour prior.

"It's just a car ride, we do that every day at work." He told her and gestured to the car. But now it's different. We broke a promise. What goes on between us. It's not just ours anymore. Brennan thought to herself. This meant more than a stupid egg.

She smiled softly and got in the car. He closed the door after her and ran around it to get in. She sighed as she put on her seatbelt. Why did she say yes?

The ride across town fell silent. The sound of the wheels touching the asfalt beneath the vehicle made its way to their ears. The calmness that had fallen over them before they stepped into the car was gone. Neither of them knew what to say or do. They had apologized to each other but it hadn't felt right. It felt fake, like they only did it to be nice to each other.

He parked the car in the guest parking spot and quickly got out of the car to open her door. She gave him a weak smile as she got out. There was an unplanned walk to her door together. Soon she would have the safety of her own four walks around her. "Thank you for walking me to my door, Booth." She said softly. "You know I don't need you to follow me up." She sighed.

"I know, it just.. It still doesn't feel right, you know?" He sighed and put his hands on his pockets.

"That's because we broke a promise tonight." She said firmly. Was I still mad? She thought.

"A promise?" He asked with furrowed brows.

"You told everyone my deepest darkest secrets." She exclaimed in a hushed tone. "I hadn't even told Angela about that night. No one knew a lot of those things, because I didn't break that promise." She said firmly. "I shouldn't have said the things I said, but you went too far." She added.

"I went too far?" He hissed. "You're the one that started this whole fiasco by confessing your love for me and fucking up my entire brain that night."

"I'm sorry for feeling something, loving someone. You." She exclaimed in a louder tone than she wanted it to come out.

"You turned me down last year, what was I supposed to do now when you all of the sudden want me, this, us now? Huh? Just up and leave her at the sound of your voice?" He hissed.

"Of course not, I'm not a fucking housewrecker."She hissed back at him. "And you know damn well by now that I didn't turn you down. You gave me 30 fucking seconds to decide if our friendship and partnership was worth ruining if this didn't work out." She exclaimed. "You know I don't work like that, you know I can't throw myself into a situation without thinking it through." She said and poked him in the chest. He gasped her hand and pushed her against the wall. His body pressed up close against hers.

"I just thought that for once you would stop being so fucking uptight about being prepared and you would live a little." He hissed a few inches from her face.

"I'm uptight?" She questions, leaning closer. "You're the one that can't think further than your frontal lobe when it comes to love. It has to be your way or no way." She hissed.

"At least I know what I want and stand by it." He jabbed back.

"And what do you want then, Booth? Huh?" She asked.

"You." He hissed.

"Man up and prove it then" She whispered. That was all he needed. He closed the gap in between them and pushed her harder against the wall, his lips crashed against hers. He instantly picked her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist. Her arms flew up and wrapped around his neck pulling him closer.

Their tongues fought instead of their words. The kiss grew more passionate by the second. Brennan moaned against his lips as he pressed his hips against her. "Key" He groaned. His hands found their way inside her shirt and traveled up and down her back.

"Purse" She got out as his lips kissed and nipped their way down to her neck.

"Where?" He murmured against her neck. She froze remembering where it was.

"Car.." She sighed.

"Good thing I have your spare" He chuckled and took out his keys. He held her close as he walked over to the door to open it.

"When did you take that back?" She let out as his lips found her neck again.

"A few weeks ago, I knew where you hid it in your office" He said before he got the door open and let them in. He closed the door and pushed her up against it. Their lips connected again and she pulled him closer once more. His hands found their way back under her shirt and pulled it over her head. He put his fingers underneath her bra strap. He pulled away reluctantly and let his eyes meet hers. "Are you sure?" He whispered against her lips. She let out a small chuckle. Typical Booth. She nodded slowly and crashed her lips against his again.

With her yes he flicked open her bra, earning a giggle from Brennan. "How did you learn how to do that?" She asked.

"Many, many years of practise" He chuckled. She tugged at his shirt and pulled it over his head. Their lips connected again with passion.

"Bed." She exhaled.

"Too far." He groaned against her lips.

"Couch." She tried again. She did not want their first time to be up against a door. How hot that may be, it wasn't the ideal. He chuckled and walked them over to the couch, not letting their lips disconnect on the way.

He put his hand on the back of the couch and put her down. He gently took off her bra and he backed away for a second to admire her body. "How was I so stupid to not wait for this?" He whispered huskily.

"Doesn't matter anymore, you have me." She whispered back and pulled him on top of her. She captured his lips with hers again and moaned as he grinded his cock against her wet pussy, through 4 layers of clothing. "We have too much clothes on" She murmured against his lips.

"Let's fix that" He smiled and kissed his way down her body. His lips electrified her skin. She felt his tongue on her stomach, tasting his way down to his goal. His fingers found the button and unbuttoned her pants painfully slowly. She wiggled and glanced down at him. "Have patience." He chuckled and slowly pulled down her zipper.

He kissed his way up her body again, stopping to give attention to her breast. He circled his tongue around her nipple before biting down, earning a throaty moan from Brennan. The other hand massaged the other boob, tweaking on her nipple that wasn't getting any attention from his mouth.

"Please" Was all she got out before he pulled another moan from her. He sucked gently on her nipple before moving up to her lips again. His eyes found hers again. They were dark, like the bottom of the ocean. "Touch me." She whispered against his lips. Booth was no man to say no to a woman begging for his touch. His tongue fought for dominance against hers as his hand found its way to her lace panties.

"Is this what you want?" He asked huskily against her lips as he cupped her pussy through her panties, knowing the answer already. She nodded into his kiss.

He gently pressed down against her soaked panties earning another needy moan from her lips. His fingers peeled away the lace and they found his goal. The sensitive nub rubbed against his fingers as their kiss grew hotter. He reached further down and slipped in a finger, she grinded against his hand instantly. "More" He heard her whisper against his lips. He slipped in another finger as his thumb worked on her clit. "I need you inside."She pulled away from him to look into his eyes. Her eyes were black and her cheeks flustered in a gorgeous blush. "Now."

He chuckled and felt her hand start pulling on his jeans. He removed his hand from her pussy and grabbed a hold of her hands firmly, holding her gaze. "I lead." He said in a dark and husky tone. She had never heard his voice that deep, covered in pure sex. She could feel her sex vibrate with need. She could only nod and she felt him leave her body and pulled down her pants. He kissed for every inch that her jeans got removed.

She heard them land on the floor seconds before he picked her up and carried her to the bedroom. He had only been in there once before, when her nightmares had gotten the worst of her and he had come over to hold her until she fell asleep.

He put her down on the bed. The darkness around them seemed so bright when the electricity through their eyes lit up the room. He stood in front of her and took off his pants and underwear. Her eyes dropped to his enlarged cock. She had seen it before, when she had rushed into his bathroom after he came back from the dead. But not like this, not this hard. And big.

He smiled and leaned forward and put his hands on her hips and he slowly, painfully slow, peeled off her underwear to leave her completely naked. "You are so gorgeous." He said admiring her body. He leaned over her and put an arm under her and moved her further in on the bed with him.

"Do you have protection?" He asked as he brushed away her hair from her face. "I, uh, I didn't bring any because I-" He stuttered but was caught off by her giggle.

"I'm safe, but I have some in my nightstand." She said softly and tilted her head up to kiss him. His lips met hers in feather light touch.

"I'm safe too, I had my yearly check up last month.." He said before leaning over to open the drawer to pull out a condom. "But maybe better safe than sorry." He chuckled.

"I wouldn't be sorry." She whispered. Her smile made his heart beat out of his chest.

"Let's focus on us before we move onto that step." He said, peeling the wrapper before leaning close to her face, an inch from her lips he whispered. "That step will come." And kissed her lips tenderly.

"Let me." She whispered and grabbed the condom. "Lay down." Even though he said he would lead, the way she took control turned him on even more.

He laid down with his head on her pillows and he admired her body kneeling in front of him. She crawled over to him and put one of her legs over his body. Her heat laid flat against his abdomen and the light from the moon hit her body and made it glister.

She put her tiny hands on his chest after she put the condom to the side. He put his hands on her hips and squeezed firmly. "We don't need it." She said with need, clouding her voice. "I wanna feel you." She added. He almost came with the sound of that.

She inched back on his body and stood kneeling over his cock. Her hand gasped it and felt it twitch as she gently tugged on it. She aligned it with her soaked pussy and gently sat down on his cock. She hissed at the feeling. She slowly went up again before gently starting to feel the rhythm between them.

He reached out and grabbed a hold of her beautiful breast and pinched her nipples. They moaned together as he reached as far as he could inside of her. "Oh my.." Brennan moaned and tilted her head back.

"Fuck, you feel so good." He moaned. Their lips met in a heated kiss and he grabbed her ass as he pulled her down deeper on him. In a split second he flipped them around and held her close as he drove them closer to the edge together.

Their rhythm quickened and their moans grew louder. "Fuck.." She moaned into his ear as he found her neck. He bit down and then kissed the same part. "I'm so close.." With those words he picked up the speed and pounded harder into her.

"Come for me" He moaned before capturing her lips with his. She felt her entire body being electrified and she fell over the edge as she pulled him closer, pulling him over the edge with her. He slowed their rhythm to a gentle pace. Their kisses grew feather light and he slipped out of her. She turned to his body as he laid down beside her. He put his arms around her and they laid there in the moonlight shining over their bodies.

"That was.." Booth exclaimed after a while.

"Yeah.." She whispered against his chest.

"You know." He pulled away from her slightly, just enough to be able to see her face. "I didn't plan this tonight." He said and brushed away her hair from her face and cupped her cheek.

"I know." She whispered. Their eyes held a conversation that didn't need words. They laid there in silence, admiring and embracing the moment that they just had. The moment that they had been waiting for years, nearly a decade. They were both ready now, to start something more. That didn't need words. They just knew.

A few days had passed since the failed dinner at Hodgins and Angelas. The group swore to not talk about what they had heard Booth and Brennan confess, because they all knew that they only said those statements in anger. Angela had made sure that everyone would keep their mouths shut about it. She might have threatened to have balls cut off, but that's irrelevant.

She hadn't seen Booth around the lab since that night. Brennan never said if it worked out between them or how she got home. When Wednesday rolled around she had grown impatient and had decided to go and talk to Brennan about it.

Angela checked her watch, 11.34am. Just around the time that Booth usually walks into the lab. She stood up from her desk and walked to her office doors and just like clockwork. There he was. Smiling? That's odd. "Hey Booth. Long time no see." Angela exclaimed and waved him over.

"Hey, Ange" Booth said as he walked over to her. "Do you know where Bones is?" He asked her when he got close.

"Yeah, she's in her office." Angela said curiously. "Are you two good now?" She asked with furrowed brows.

"Yeah, why wouldn't we be? Did Bones say something? Is she mad at me?" Booth looked alarmed and then exhaled. "I know I shouldn't have said that thing this morning." He murmured to himself.

"No, she didn't say anything." She said, folding her arms over her chest. "What did you say this morning?" She asked, smiling.

"What? Oh, nothing." He panicked. "I just, I thought she had said something and I- Nevermind, I'll go see her, It's lunch time." He smiled and turned to her office. Angela walked slowly after him to see a glimpse of what would happen in Brennan's office.

She saw him knock on her door, Brennan turned to see who it was and she smiled when she saw who it was. A smile that Brennan hadn't worn in a long time. Booth then did something Angela never thought he would do. He leaned in to kiss her and Brennan kissed him back. She gasped at the scene in front of her. Angela glanced around the office to see if someone else saw what was happening just a few feet away from her.

"Do you think she's looking?" Brennan asked as they broke apart. Booth smiled at her question and caressed her cheek.

"It's Angela, of course she's looking" Booth responded and chuckled. "Lunch?" He asked and offered his hand towards her.

"The diner?" She answered his question with a question and stood up. Booth nodded and they made their way out of her office.

"They have cherry pie today." Booth smiled.
