Chapter 4: Action Duel!
Reiji's POV
I have watched Yuuki's demonstration of Pendulum Summon countless times, enabling me to fully grasp the concept and provide my approval to the R&D Department for the construction of the new pendulum cards. By following his instructions, we can swiftly commence the mass production of these Pendulum cards.
This brings up another matter.
I tasked Nakajima with conducting a thorough investigation on Yuuki, hoping to uncover remarkable details, but disappointingly, the more I delved into his background, the less impressive he appeared. His information proved to be rather ordinary. As it turns out, he is a foreigner who applied for employment at LDS and relocated to Maiami City. He leads a solitary life and did not attend any duel schools during his youth. The only reason he caught our attention was because one of our personnel was present to oversee the tournament and subsequently offered him a position at LDS following his victory.
However, that wasn't the sole source of frustration. To add to the perplexity, there were no recorded footage of the duel itself. Relying solely on the overseer's account, it was revealed that Yuuki had utilized a machine fusion deck, summoning a monster with an astounding attack power exceeding 10,000 points, effortlessly overpowering all opponents in a single decisive move.
The overseer remembered the details mainly because of how quick the duel was.
The duel took the form of a battle royale, a duel format that pitted a duelist against multiple opponents in a king of the hill elimination match. At that time, Yuuki proposed that everyone should initially focus their efforts on him. On his first turn, he used "One Day of Peace," allowing everyone to draw a card without taking any damage until the end of his opponent's turn. Then, on his subsequent turn, Yuuki somehow send his entire deck to the graveyard, then somehow fusion summon to bring out a multi-headed machine dragon, which he proceeded to decimate all of his adversaries in one battle phase, securing victory.
Twice, I had tried to imagine myself dueling against him. And in those two times, I would always imagine myself losing to him. Looking back at his profile, I have to admit that his farfetched records are by no means forged or faked. Nakajima has also gathered all of his duel records for me and after reviewing each and every record, I can say that he is by far the strongest duelist I have come across.
Normally, I wouldn't have to worry about him, had he not dropped the bomb.
"Neither of the four, but the big one watching you five."
"Watching us five" he says. On top of that, what does he mean about the big one?
"Kyou Yuuki"
How do I proceed from here… maybe…
I reached for the phone as I had an idea on how to proceed from here. "Get me in touch with the Fuuma Duel School, I have a job for them."
Yuuki's POV
It's another day at work, meaning another beginning to this fine enjoyable life. Now that I have shown Reiji a first-hand experience of Pendulum Summoning, I can only hope a series of butterfly effects start to take place. Then again, my existence itself is already a butterfly effect.
While I do love Arc-V's setting, it's not to say I enjoy everything about it. Don't get me started on the manga version of Arc-V and its ending. Imagine my relief when I was introduced to Yuuya's mother, Sakaki Yoko by my jogging friend, which is Hiiragi Shuuzou, who is also my current boss.
Although, I have to admit one great thing about the manga that did better than the anime: the manga had an ending while the anime, despite having one… doesn't have a closure. I mean, I've seen and heard fans talk about a certain edge lord and his sister… and for the other dimension counterpart what not…
Sigh, I guess that's my end game huh? Let's just wait and see…
I was walking down the river dike and is met with the various students walking along the way. As I did, I was greeted by a familiar duo.
"Kyou-sensei!"
I turned to greet the ones calling me and is met with a mob of green and red along with a pink twin tail.
"Ara, Yuuya and Yuzu, seems like your class is over," I greeted. "How was your day."
"It has been fine so far, although…" Yuuya answered with a troubled face at the end.
"Oh? Trouble in paradise?"
"Well, its not really that big, it's just… you see…"
Yuuya told me about how a boy called Sora showed up at his home… and then proceeded to comically appear everywhere, calling him 'Master' at any given opportunity, even in the loo.
"Huh, kid's got you exhausted I see." I deduced. Trust me, I've dealt with kids and have been physically and mentally challenged by them. In fact, I considered having kids as a 'life and death' career choice. Because they are experts at 'pushing my buttons' and 'pulling my heartstrings' at the same time. "Now you know how I felt dealing with your antics huh."
"Eh?" Yuuya paused.
"What?" I looked at him with a deadpanned expression, "Considering how you normally duel by constantly making a fool out of yourself, I'd say you are twice the kid he is." Especially, since he was raised and trained as a soldier.
"Uh…" Yuuya had no retort to that.
"Well in any case, don't bring that gloomy expression to our Duel School," Yuzu changed the subject.
"Word, being moody isn't your schtick Yuuya, so wipe that thought away for now and keep being you Yuuya." I encouraged thoughtfully.
Yuuya sighed before taking in a deep breath. "You're right, its time for me to switch gears and go into overdrive then!"
Now that's the Yuuya that we know.
Of course, with all that said, the moment we arrived at the school, guess whose here?
"Ah, master!" said a petite blue pineapple head.
Originally when I saw the child in the anime, I just simply wrote him off as another main character. But never have I imagined that he's a villain in disguise. Now that I get the chance to see it all again in person, the hints are all there from the get go.

Ok, that's not enough because despite it all, it still looked give him a toy soldier like appearance and considering what kind of deck he plays. But in my defense, the moment I know about it, my mind just noticed things and recognize how it all works. It's like magic.
In any case, he's been pushing Yuuya's buttons throughout the entire conversation. After facing so much rejections, I think he has had it. That's when he pulled off the "Cuteness Overload Face" to pull at everyone's heartstrings. Huh…
I better not die from all of this.
Looking at Sora's face in person, I can now understand why the anime characters are easily charmed by that face. Yuuya is… Yuuya since he's immune. As for me… I would have fallen for that… but I know Sora's character so again, once you've seen it, it doesn't work anymore.
"Why don't you duel him, Kyou-sensei." Yuuya suddenly called out.
"Huh? Why me?"
Ok this is different.
"Uh… because you're our sensei?"
"I don't wanna! I wanna duel with Yuuya! Pleaaaaaaaase!" Ok now he has turned his cuteness up to eleven.
"Welp there's that, Yuuya, entertain your apprentice. I have to prepare for today's class. Fusion Summoning." I declared.
"Oh?" Suddenly the cuteness beam stopped and I have acquired Sora's full attention. "Fusion Summon?" That's not a question, but a reaffirmation.
"Oh yes, I'm starting Fusion Summoning class this week, starting off with basic theories, practice and even counters. Who knows, maybe I will go into the more advanced lessons if everyone is doing well." I walked away with my back facing them in order to hide and perform my evil glasses smile.
All according to keikaku.
During Yuuya and Sora's action duel, they went back and forth with each other. I attended the duel midway and right on time to observe Sora performing a fusion summon. That is of course, when I decided to give an introduction to fusion summoning.
"The most basic requirement of Fusion Summoning is the usage of the spell card Polymerization" I began, "Not only that, you must also present at least 2 monsters that are mentioned on the Fusion Monster Card."
Suffice to say, everyone understood what is going on after my explanation. Moreover, I don't need to add to Yuuya's Pendulum Monsters being sent to the extra deck after being destroyed.
In any case, Yuuya won the duel, but not the war. Because while he got Sora to stop calling him master, Sora's persistence knows no bounds. Instead, preferring to call him by his name. Even proclaim to be his friend. Honestly, if he was any other kid, I wouldn't have bat an eye, but he wasn't. He was from Duel Academy… a place that had sadly become a militaristic world.
When Yuuya asked him where did he learn how to Fusion Summon and Sora shrugging the topic off as simply answered "from overseas", I cut in and in a joking tone and said, "Pfft, the way you say it is like you are from another dimension."
To which, to my expectation, he tensed up.
"That sounded silly, Kyou-sensei." Said the adorable little Ayu-chan.
"Or better yet an anime cliché," Tatsuya-kun added.
"I'm just joking, but imagine if it was real eh Sora-kun," I pretended to shrug as I directed my question to the boy. "Maybe he's from a dimension that teaches their students Fusion Summoning and happens to be at war with many different dimensions."
Sora tensed some more.
"Or maybe you're a spy that they send to scout and report your findings."
I can feel Sora's killing intent multiplying.
"Or perhaps he's a retired spied and simply want to enjoy his youth in a different country, bah what do I know." I ended my ominous revelations. "In any case, since we are having a new student, let's have a welcome ceremony for our new friend then."
"Yay!" The kids were enthusiastic of this.
Sora, on the other hand, was growing very cautious around me, as I wanted him to. After all, I do love to push everyone's buttons. When you are undefeated and strong, you can afford this luxury of getting on people's bad side and get away with it.
Sora's Point of View
The kids brought me around the building and we explore each place. Before entering the school, I had already scouted the building and can already tell the layouts of the place. Therefore, the tour is just a customary disguise for me. As I entertain their eagerness, I can't help but to recall how accurate he was. What was his name again? Kyou-sensei?
I cannot help but ask.
"Excuse me, can you tell me more about our teacher?" I asked.
"Teacher? Do you mean Kyou-sensei?" the boy in blue haired asked.
"Is that his name?"
"Well, if he's wearing glasses, then yes. I can't say much since I am a new student but from what Ayu and Futoshi said, he is a great teacher who taught them about dueling. Come to think of it, he did mention that he is starting to teach Fusion Summoning this week, I wonder what he will teach us. Do you think we can learn how to Fusion Summon like you do?"
"I'm sure you can," I answered with approval. He's also teaching fusion summoning too huh, I think he's fine… but… nah, it must be a coincidence.
An hour later, we are now seated in class, which is a small classroom. Yuuya, Yuzu and I sat at the back of the class while the kids are in front of us.
"Welcome back to the class kids, today we will be learning about Fusion Summoning." A standard talk right there.
"Now then, lets begin." He took out his deck and spread 6 different cards with different colours: Yellow, orange, blue, purple, white and black.
I am actually surprised at first when he brought each of the 6 types of cards. The first two, yellow and orange were common. Blue is somewhat rare but still common in my world, since that girl uses it. The purple one is obvious. But to have both white and black cards too… No, that's not it. What got my attention was their attack and defense. With the exception to the yellow and orange cards, the blue, purple, white and black card all have 4000 ATK!
Now I am growing more curious. This guy is not a push over.
"Out of these 6 cards, pick the one that is a fusion monster." He began. Easily enough, the kids even got it right considering the demonstration we did earlier today. "Correct, fusion monsters are depicted by purple cards, now the next question." He revealed several spell cards most of which I can identify as cards used for Fusion Summoning…
Wait…
No…
WHAT? HOW DID HE HAVE THAT CARD!
I was brought out of my stupor when I heard a loud crack coming below me. I turn my head only to notice that the lollipop that I had in my mouth had fell to the ground and had shattered to pieces.
"Also, no candies in classes!" I heard a sudden snap from the teacher.
"Ah, yes!" I responded instinctively.
"Clean that up, and pay attention."
"Yes," as I hurriedly pick up my broken candy. Once I am done, Kyou Yuuki asked us to take some time to read and pick out the cards has an effect that allows the user to Fusion Summon. I hurriedly and try to take photos of each batch, especially the one that has the aforementioned card that shocked me.
I then asked for permission to use the washroom. He allowed me to and I make a light jog to the place. Once I am there, I quickly tap into my Disk.
"It's me" I called.
"Sora," a feminine voice greeted me. The camera was on but the speaker was not in view, "if you are using this line, then it must be an emergency."
"Well, its not really an emergency on my part but I must report a potential spy or traitor." I spoke.
"Hm… that's a very bold claim, do you have any evidence?" she spoke, still not in the camera range. However, part of her body has come into view, her hands grabbing the Duel Disk.
"Here, I'm sending the photo of his class." I picked the picture I had managed to take along my way out to the washroom. "Look at the bottom right most card." I specified to a certain card called "Super Polymerization".
There was a silence between us. Moreover, it was a fortunate one because Yuuya suddenly called me.
"Sora, you done in there?"
"Ah, just a bit more!" I answered.
"Quickly now, Kyou-sensei is about to explain more about Fusion Summoning, something about Con… Conta- ah I don't know. Anyway, hurry up!" With that message, he left.
Conta… Conta…
"Did he mean Contact Fusion?" I filled in the blanks. "Did you hear that?"
"Yes, yes I did." Now my handler is in full view. The person, or woman, had long straight brown hair. She had a red coat but despite her coat, she is one of the strongest duelist in our dimension. "Sora, tell me more about him."
"I don't have much about him, but give me some time." I responded.
"Take as much time as you need, I worry about your safety Sora." She spoke but kinder this time.
"Oh, you don't have to worry about me, Hibiki-sensei. I'll be fine, I need to be back to class now, see you later." I shut off the communication and jogged to class with a new mission in mind.
I need to know more about Kyou Yuuki.
The next day, I was in class once more and for once, I was given the opportunity to sleep and rest without needing to be aware. When I was raised at Academia… we could only train, fight and become stronger. Everyone was so desperate to become the ultimate warrior. Some of us are even willing to betray one another just to become the strongest. I was one of the few warriors who came out on top. There were no deaths fortunately, but the people who did not made it on top are usually assigned to lower rankings.
Academia assigns our ranks based on the colours. Obelisk Blue being the top, with Obelisk Force being the elites of our ranks. Followed by Ra Yellow and finally Osiris Red being the weakest.
Almost everyone uses the same deck, which is the Ancient Gear deck. It was a deck that is researched by the professor and has the highest stats along with effects. The deck allows us to dominate the Xyz Dimension in in one fell swoop. I didn't participate in the war with the Xyz Dimension, however I heard great news of us suffering no casualties. It goes to show how strong the deck is compared to most other decks I have seen in this dimension.
If Ancient Gear is strong, then why am I use a unique deck compared? Its contradictory but the answer is just that simple. I just like cute things. On top of that, I just want to preserve what little childhood I had left with this deck. In fact, this is the deck that I grew up with and allowed me to come out on top in my dimension. Not only that, it was also the perfect façade to throw my opponent off. Imagine their faces when they laugh at me, calling my monsters weak and then become a complete mess when I destroy them.
Those were some good times.
That was until I meet my handler. Hibiki Midori, an instructor and trainer for Osiris. At first, I do not view her in a good light since she was a red. However, that all changed when she completely destroyed me.
That was not all. What came next was the thing that made me… acknowledge her. Instead of the jeers and disappointed looks I would often receive from losing, she simply gave me a hand and took me under her wing.
It felt strange. It felt weird. But it wasn't bad at all.
As I sat in Kyou Yuuki's class, I couldn't help but to reminiscent the old time when I was taught by Hibiki-sensei. Kyou Yuuki was actually a great fusion teacher. Not only did he got everything correct about Fusion Summoning, he even demonstrated them accurately. Telling us that it is possible to Fusion Summon not only from the field or hand, but even with cards that are in the graveyard and that were banished.
Then, he talked about how it is possible to Fusion Summon without the use of spells and traps. Monster effects that enable fusion summoning. Next, on the topic of monster effects, he even said how it is possible to bring out Fusion monsters WITHOUT Fusion Summoning. I was honestly stumped when I heard of this, until he showed us the card called Cyber Stein which has the effects of Special Summoning 1 Fusion Monster from the Extra Deck. Moreover, you can use the effect more than once. The unfortunate thing was, it requires the player to pay 5000 Life Points to activate the effect.
There were several things going into my mind when I saw the card. But most of my questions were answered when I saw him combos this card with DNA Surgery and Telekinetic Charging Cell.
This is revolutionary! If we can use this method to bring out Ancient Gear monsters!
On a side note, he did say something strange while looking at DNA Surgery… "Reprodocus". When he said that, the class simply shrugs him off as they are used to his antics of being weird at times. One example was of this is how he likes to talk about Extra Deck monsters and how they can all be Linked. Then he continued the class as if nothing happened.
What bamboozled me some more is the next lesson where he showed us how to counter Fusion Monsters and to my horror, I watched how he easily showed a few examples and his reasons. The first were Anti-Spell Fragrance, which forces both players to be unable to play any spells until the next turn after they are set! Then he shows Prohibition and Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell that permanently seals Polymerization. And finally, he showed Non-Fusion Area, a continuous trap that prevents both players from Fusion Summoning!
I couldn't believe it. Cards like these actually exists! This is very bad!
"Time for our practice class now," Kyou Yuuki declared, "Futoshi, Ayu, since the two of you are familiar with this, how about you two help me out with this."
"Are we doing that sensei?" said the girl called Ayu.
"This is going to be shivering fun!" the big one said and he shivers his body.
"Of course, but first, we need our main lead." I tilted my head in bewilderment, "But in any case, you kids get on to the duel field, and since you are new here, so do you Sora."
Oh?
"What is going on? What are we doing?" I asked.
"What is happening now is that Yuuya will have an entertainment practice with me, this is going to be fun." He said, "get in the duel field, you'll understand why the kids are having fun."
So I did.
I arrived and waited with the rest of the kids. They were excited, especially Futoshi and Ayu. Tatsuya, on the other hand, was a new student like me, therefore we are both as confused but at the same time couldn't help but anticipate what is about to come.
Until suddenly, the lights went out. I then saw a spotlight illuminating a figure whom I recognized as Kyou Yuuki. Moreover, he is humming and twirling a cane. As he walks closer into the spotlight, I can see he had a makeover where he is now wearing a red circus outfit coupled with a top hat.
I was confused at first until I saw the two senior kids humming along with him.
The melody was foreign but I am sure it belongs to the stereotype amusement park theme one could hear.

As I heard the machine chimed, the dark scene then shifts into a bright and colourful scene!
Yuuki's Point of View
This is a fortnight routine I usually do at You Show Duel School. I would put up a theatric act and, in some ways, let the kids have fun. The idea came to me when I watched how Shuuzou-sensei would use his… 'passionate' coaching to teach the kids how to perform action duel.
Don't get me wrong, it worked… for a while until it wore off as soon as it began. Moreover, any 'passionate coaching' following the first becomes more of a bore fest for the kids as they find it more of a training exercise than anything.
This is where I came in.
After analyzing and messing around the Solid Vision System I was able to come up with themes and new methods to make my lessons more inclusive. Moreover, with the current upgrades, its more than possible for one to interact with the environment.
To compare the ones we have now, the old one was only capable of projecting the field. The action cards are also present but that is just it, a background with added randomness mechanic where duelists run around in search of Action Magic cards that may or may not help them in an Action Duel. The Solid Vision System that Yuuya won for us, which is also the one we are using now, not only has the previous features but also allows duelists to interact with the environment. For example, a simple pebble can be picked and thrown. Of course, no damage can be done here as they are only visions with no mass. I tried to scratch myself with one of the sharper edges of some field but they merely breeze through.
To make a long story short, imagine a virtual reality where you can interact with the environment but with no lag time and extremely responsive to player's interaction.
In any case, the theme for today is one that has been done before, which is why the kids were able to chant the chorus well. In fact, it is their favorite. As the Solid Vision System projected Amazement Land, I took a moment to take in the familiar sight.
The place is a theme park. A large family park where fun and happiness can be found. A heaven for kids and an unforgettable memory for everyone.
But wait, I'm not finished yet.
As the projection is done, I continued to the second verse of my song while turning to each attractions.
Thrill rides!
Ready! A speaker echoed.
Roller coasters!
No problem!Another echoed.

This time the kids join in. Not only that, several mascots and park attendants came out to join me. One of the attendants wave for the kids to approach as well and they did.

Pyrotechnics bellowed behind me as I finished the sentence and followed by fireworks being launched into the air.
"YAY!" The kids were definitely cheering and smiling. On top of that, I can see Sora's bewildering gaze wander about in amazement.
Now, for the final chorus.
Hmm, I can't wait! I hear he is coming!

As I spoke his name, I raised my head and on one of the light posts is none other than Sakaki Yuuya who attempted to jump off of it.
I said attempted because as he did that, he tripped and fell to the ground.
For a moment, there was silence. We just stare and it was the kids who broke the silence first.
"Yuuya-nii, that's lame."
"You blew it."
"Seriously."
"Now now kids, Yuuya is Yuuya after all," I assured them, "Yuuya-kun, are you alright?"
"I'm fine, sensei! Now, let's duel!"
"But of course," I readied my duel disk, "Now, everybody, LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!"
"Duelists locked in battle! Kicking the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters! They storm through this field! Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling!"
ACTION DUEL!
As the giant ball of cards pops and separate to various parts of the park, the duel had officially begun.

"Let's begin! I activate the Field Spell Amazement Precious Park!" As I play the Field Spell, a billboard appeared and show a rough map of the park. "While this is in play and during my Main Phase, I can activate 1 "Attraction" Trap card the turn I set it."
"Next, I summon Amazement Attendant Comica (Level 4/LIGHT/Machine/1400/1800)!" As I did, a lady in neon green landed beside me, "When she's summoned, I can set 1 "Attraction" Trap directly from my Deck. With her effect, I set Amaze Attraction Wonder Wheel and then activate this." Upon the card's activation, said attraction lit up. A Ferris Wheel attraction hums to life and Comica starts guiding the kids to said attraction where they all rode on.
"I equip this trap card to Comica and now I can place 1 card from my hand to the bottom of my deck to draw one." I traded cards before revealing it, "Next, I activate Amazement Assistant Delia's effect. I reveal 1 "Attraction" Trap in my hand and Special Summon this card." As I revealed Amaze Attraction Majestic Merry-Go-Round, another attendant in neon green clothes appeared (Level 4/LIGHT/Machine/Effect/1800/1400). "With her effect, I can send 1 "Attraction" Trap from either my hand or face-up field to the graveyard and set 1 "Attraction" Trap directly from my Deck to my field. I send Wonder Wheel from my field to the Graveyard to set Amaze Attraction Rapid Racing."
"I'm not done, I activate Amazement Administer Arlekino's effect, if a Trap Card is activated, I can Special summon this card from my hand (Level 7/DARK/Psychic/Effect/2600/2200)." As I did, a male in a similar outfit as me appeared in a theatric bow. "I now set 1 card and end my turn."
At the same time, the kids are done with the Ferris Wheel.

"Alright, my turn! Draw!"
Yuuya started jogging to a direction.
"I set the Pendulum Scale with Scale 2 Performapal Drummerilla and Scale 8 Timegazer Magician!"

"Now I can summon monsters between Level 2 and 7 simultaneously! Swing, my soul's pendulum! Draw an arc of light in the sky! Come, my monsters!" As he did, 3 beams of light descended.
"Appear! Performapal Gold Fang (Level 4/LIGHT/Beast/Pendulum/Effect/1800/700), Performapal Salutiger (Level 4/EARTH/Beast-Warrior/Effect/1700/500) and Performapal Secondonkey (Level 4/EARTH/Best/Effect/1000/2000)"
"Hoh, Pendulum Summon huh, that's your new circus trick?" I jabbed.
"It's more than a circus trick! Next, my monster's effect activates! First, Secondonkey's effect activates, when it is summoned, I can send 1 "Performapal" monster from my deck to the Graveyard. However, if I have 2 cards in my Pendulum Zones, I can add it to my hand instead. I add Performapal Silver Claw. Next, Performapal Gold Fang's effect activate! When this card is summoned, all Performapal monster I currently control gain 200 ATK until the end of this turn!"
"This is where I must stop you!" I interrupted, "I activate Arlekino's effect. When my opponent summons any monsters, I can activate his effect!"
I understand that there are chain sequences but think of it being chain link 3 and resolved after chain link 2… in other words the effect still goes on but only rearranged so that Gold Fang's effect will trigger after this interruption.
"I can equip 1 Attraction Trap card from my Deck to 1 of your summoned monsters! In which case, I equip Gold Fang with Amaze Attraction Horror House!" At the mention of that, Arlekino's appearance had changed into a vampire and caused a jump scare toward the yellow wolf. I can also see some of the kids dressing up as the ghosts there too while Comica and Delia are joining in on the fun as Jiangshis.
"When this card is equipped to my opponent's monster, it will be flipped face down." Right on cue, the wolf was scared so badly, it flipped over into a face-down card.
"In that case, I will continue by Normal Summoning Performapal Silver Claw (Level 4/DARK/Beast/Pendulum/Effect/1800/700)!" his fourth monster appeared, and is the appearance of a silver wolf.
"Huh, not bad, monsters that raises attack points. Not only that, we also Timegazer Magician in the Pendulum Zone that prevents me from activating trap cards when your Pendulum Monster attack. So, I will activate this prematurely! I activate the trap card Amaze Attraction Majestic Merry-Go-Round!" As I did, Arlekino is now sitting on one of the rides. On top of that, Comica and Delia along with the kids are also on the ride. "Careful kid! Keep your pets on a leash or they might get ran over!"
"Safety is important!" Comica chorused.
"Safety first!" Delia followed.
"Safety!" I heard Sora said that.
"Whee~"
The attendants and children chorused.
"When this card is activated, I can equip this to either one of my monsters or my opponent's. In this case, I equip it to Arlekino, this gives him 500 ATK (2600 3100)."
"It doesn't matter because I will now battle!" He declared as I watched him zone in on an Action Magic card, "Silver Claw will attack your Arlekino and when this card declares an attack, all Performapal monsters I control gain 300 ATK until the end of the Battle Phase. (1800 2100)"
"Oh? That's not enough Yuuya!" I reminded him.
"I know!" As he said that, he reached an Action Magic card that was hanging on a food truck, "I activate Action Magic, Amazing Cotton Candy! With this card's effect, I can raise the ATK and DEF of a monster on the field by 500 during this battle! I pick Silver Claw!" As he declared, the large wad of cotton candy dropped onto the wolf, who wolf down on the treat (2100 2600).
"Nice try, but it's still not enough Yuuya!" I declared.
"Doesn't matter, Silver Claw go!" The wolf got closer but before it could swipe its claws on him.
So, he is going for a clash huh. Yuuya would not do something as reckless as that. I reanalyzed his field. His monsters, didn't have any other special effects. Gold Claw is set so that threat is not a concern anymore. I then checked his Pendulum Zone… oh… so that's what…
"I'm not finished! I activate Performapal Drummerilla from my Pendulum Zone!" I forgot about that! "Once per turn, when my monster is attacking yours, I can raise my monster's attack by 600 until the end of the Battle Phase (2600 3200)."
Huh? I forgot about that!
I watched as my monster got destroyed by the wolf and I can only stare with widened eyes. (4000 3900)
For the first time… in our practice duels, I've lost Life Points! Sure, I have lost Life Points when I used Trial Decks way back when I was in LDS but in my defense, those are your run off the mill structure decks that can only do as much. However, this is a deck that I've built and happened to limit myself for the sake of entertainment and fun. But even then, I have never lost life points before. Until now.
I guess it's time I raise the level.
Speaking of which, I decided not to activate Merry-Go-Round's other effect which protects my monster from destruction. I have a specific thing in play.
Sora's Point of View
In all my life, I've never felt this way. As a student of Academia, we were raised and taught to be strong. Even during our free time, we would also do exercises to improve ourselves.
This… place… this is the first time I've ever had this much fun. This place, unlike the one I dueled Yuuya in, is so much more fun! I got on a ferris wheel and got to see how high everything was. Even get to sit on this horse and go round and around. The attendants, Kyou Yuuki's monsters, were very alive even and they even guide us around the park.
Is this the Action Duel? Because now I REALLY LOVE IT!
Speaking of the two attendants, Comica and Delia, they have been guiding us throughout the entire park. I have to say, this is the first time I find Duel Monsters to be so live like. Not only that, this is… strange. It's almost as if they are alive. There were instance where I almost mistook and treat them like actual living people too, especially when I watched how they smile and play with us.
"ALRIGHT! I've FINALLY damage you, sensei!"
That caught my attention. I turn to face the duel and could see Yuuki's Life Points dropped to 3900.
"Amazing! Yuuya-nii finally did it!"
"This sends me the shivers~"
I don't get it, what is so special about 100 points of damage? I then asked them as I dig into my lollipop.
"Oh yeah, you two are new here. See, Yuuya-nii and Kyou-sensei have had several practice duels now. And in all of those duels, Kyou-sensei has never lost his Life Points at all." Explained the girl.
"Eh?" I blurted. The other new student joined my expression as well.
"It's true! We were always watching those two duel. Like how he did Ritual Summon, he even brought out this giant train once that has 6000 ATK points and it gave me the shivers thinking about it!"
What did you say? 6000? 6000 Attack points? That's even more than our strongest monster!
Suddenly, Kyou Yuuki's threat level shot up. This is… bad!
I might as well take notes on this duel… maybe record his future duels.
"Now, I will continue! I will now attack Amazement Attendant Comica (1400) with Salutiger (1700 2000)" At the mention of that, the attendant, whom was guiding us to another attraction suddenly snaped her attention to the approaching tiger.
"Huh, not bad. But this isn't over yet! I activate the trap card Amaze Attraction Rapid Racing and I will equip it to Salutiger!" Right on cue, I watched the attendant sat on one of the empty go-karts and drove it into the tiger. In one skillful maneuver, she swap places with the tiger. "When this card is equipped to my opponent's monsters, it increases their Level by 1 until the end of this turn. However, its battle position is also changed!" True to Kyou Yuuki's words, the tiger is now struggling to handle the go-kart with its paws.
Me? Well, me and the kids are just zooming across the race track! Handling this go-kart isn't difficult, especially if its kid friendly!
"Man, you got me sensei! I guess… I will end my turn! During the end of my turn, all my monster's attack points return to normal."

As we finished the race, I watched as Yuuki pulled his next card.
"Well done Yuuya, well done… now, I will play the villain! From my hand, I Special Summon Amazement Abomination Arlekino (Level 7/LIGHT/Psychic/Effect/ 2600/2200)!" As he played that card, the Administrator, this time more warped and evil appeared, "When I control an Amazement monster, I can Special Summon this card from my hand, then I can add 1 "Amazement Family Faces" from my deck or Graveyard to my hand! Of, which I will set it."
"Next, I will activate Amazement Precious Park's effect. I send Rapid Racing that is equipped to Salutiger to the Graveyard and set a different Attraction Trap from my Graveyard or banished pile to my field. I select Amaze Attraction Horror House and with that, Iwill conduct my battle phase!"
"Here they come Yuuya-nii! Get ready!"
"First, Arlekino will attack Silver Claw as revenge! Go, Abominable Celebration!" at that declaration, the wolf was destroyed in battle."
"Next, Comica (1400) attack Salutiger (500) and Delia (1800) attack Secondonkey (1000)!The two attendants did as ordered and destroyed both cards. Due to Delia's superior attack and Secondonkey, Yuuya lost Life Points. Comica on the other hand didn't drop his life points due to Salutiger being in defense. "With that, I will end my turn!"

"Yuuya-nii! DO YOUR BEST!" I heard Futoshi yelled out.
Yuuya waved back and hopped to a stage area. "Sensei! This time, it's my win!"
"Oh?"
"I will show you my true power!" Yuuya said, "My turn!" He pulled and smirked. "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!"
This is going to be great!
"Observe everyone, I will now show you my greatest performance yet! But first, let's invite everyone back on stage! Now, I will perform my Pendulum Summon and welcome back everyone from my Extra Deck! Come back! Performapal Gold Fang (Level 4/LIGHT/Beast/Pendulum/Effect/1800/700), Performapal Silver Claw (Level 4/DARK/Beast/Pendulum/Effect/1800/700)!"
"Hmmm," Kyou Yuuki hummed and as he did, he raised his finger and point at Yuuya, "Those two cards, you are Ritual Summoning, are you?"
"Indeed! From my hands I activate the Ritual Spell, Odd-Eyes Advent! I will tribute my Level 4 Gold Fang and Level 4 Silver Claw to perform a Ritual Summon!" As Yuuya is on the stage. The stage curtain closes and then he started chanting, "Oh dragon that governs the earth and one who sees the land with its dichromatic eyes! Come forth and lay waste to all you see!Ritual Summon! Come forth! The dragon that controls the Earth! Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon (Level 7/ EARTH/Dragon/Ritual/Effect/2800/2500)!"
The curtains pull back and a spotlight highlighted a blue and black scaled dragon roaring into action.
Ritual Summoning, that's rare but not surprising since the Obelisk Queen uses it. Not a single person in Academia doesn't know who the Obelisk Queen is, since she was voted as the most beautiful girl in Academia. And yes, even though we are more militaristic and is full of training, some of the us boys has this small downtime session where we talk about the fun things in life. I will admit, she is actually pretty but I didn't care about that all too much since I'm more into training and dueling.
"Now I activate Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon's effect! When he is Special Summoned, I can return all Spells and Traps my opponent control to the hand! What's even more, you cannot activate cards or effects in response to this card's effect activation!"
"ALRIGHT!"
"Go get him Yuuya-nii!"
"Here we go, Gravity Distortion!" Yuuya announced and the dragon starts roaring. This cause the entire park to quake around and as such, the spells and trap cards that were on Kyou Yuuki's field returned to his hands. "Now that that is over, I will attack your monsters with Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon!"
"Nice try Yuuya, HOWEVER-" I watched as Arlekino's gaze intensified and at the same time, Gravity Dragon's attack points suddenly changed (2800 0). "During my opponent's turn, I can target 1 other Effect Monster on the field and reduce its attack to 0. Then after that, I can shuffle this monster back to the deck and Special Summon Amazement Administrator Arlekino from my deck!"
"Geh! No way!"
I watched how the red and evil version of the administrator changed his scheme into a more cheerful and friendlier appearance (Level 7/LIGHT/Psychic/Effect/ 2600/2200).
"This game is over Yuuya," I heard Kyou Yuuki declared and I agree, it is over. No matter how many Action Magic Yuuya would use, none of them are strong enough to go through Kyou Yuuki's cards. If it is back to his turn, he can activate his trap cards thanks to his field spell and finish the duel.
Yuuki's Point of View
I lowered my duel disk as I told Yuuya to give up. Admittedly this will cause Yuuya to be out of character, but there is a fine line between understanding when you are defeated and stubbornly cling to victory. The former is wisdom, but the latter is desperation. Yuuya will without a doubt choose the latter if given the correct circumstances, however in a fun and friendly practice such as this, one does not need to be desperate.
"I knew it, I still cannot defeat you, sensei." Yuuya said with resignation.
"But hey look at the bright side kid, you did 100 points of damage to my Life Points. Not only that, you did perform a Ritual Summoning, and even brought out your new ace monster. In other words, you learned from last month's lesson."
Oh yes, before we had Fusion lesson this week, we did Ritual Lessons last month. Everyone struggled a lot especially the kids. Yuuya was one of them. Yuzu on the other hand was much smarter and was able to perform her Ritual Summoning 2 weeks after the lesson. Not only that, I even gave her a bit of a… power spike as her "graduation".
"I guess so, in any case sensei. I will continue the duel… so can you finish it with a bang? I end my turn!"
"Who am I to say no?" I complied. "My turn!"

Yuuya – 2400 0 Scale 2~8
"Now then kids, its time for the grand finale. Unfortunately for us, but the park will cease it's operation until next time. But, before everyone leave, I must welcome everyone to the Grand Finale! Comica, Delia, Arlekino and of course, from my hands, come Amazement Ambassador Bufo (Level 3/EARTH/Beast/Effect/1600/900)." The final member of the archetype, a short mascot in a bear costume appear.
"Come along kids, let's watch the fireworks together! Arlekino, if you may." At the mention of that, Arlekino bow and as he did, he snapped his finger, "Once per turn, I can banish any number of "Attraction" Trap from my Graveyard and destroy as many cards my opponent controls. In my graveyard, I banish Merry-Go-Round, Wonder Wheel and Rapid Racing to destroy the three cards on your field!"
With that, three rockets raise to the sky where Yuuya's Pendulum monsters are set. Then in a sequence, the three cards on his field were destroyed in a splendor of fireworks display.
"And so, the park is now closed. Amazing Celebration! Please come again."

As the duel is over, the kids waved goodbye to the monsters. At the same time, they returned the gesture with a smile. After the goodbyes, they vanished like every Solid Vision would.
Although truth be told, earlier in my life, like years ago during my career in LDS, I was tinkering with my powers and then learned that I was able to make my monsters life like. It was a bit of an accidental discovery when I used it to save a certain girl in the back alley from being harassed. If I want to make a comparison, I would say how Sakaki Yuushou charmed Sakaki Youko during their youth. Only it didn't end up with romance, more like a change in character.
At the time, I had brought out a certain Fiend monster whose human like. Reason being she's human size and while her stats are 0, her effects are not something this world could overcome. In any case, after I manifest the Fiend monster, it became conscious and talkative. This gave everyone quite a shock, even me so I had to Shadow Game everyone's memories away.
Fortunately for me, only time a monster can become sentient is when I willed them to, which I've since learned how to control. Nevertheless, the number of times I need to Shadow Game every memory in order to train is tiring. Nowadays, I can disguise my powers and my monster's sentience easily with the help of Solid Vision. But putting that aside, I gave my monsters a heartfelt thanks for their help today and approached Yuuya.
"Now then Yuuya, let's have a review on your performance today." I spoke and recalled the duel, "You've performed Ritual Summoning for the first time and at the same time, you've reduced my Life Points. Congratulations Yuuya, YOU are the first Duelist whom has reduced my Life Points."
"Come on sensei, don't lie to me, there's no way you couldn't lose Life Points." Said Yuuya.
Even the kids agree.
Oh, if only they know. Then again, I don't even want to argue with kids, there's no point anyways so I just let them have it.
"Yeah, that's true, no way right. Speaking of losing Life Points, Yuuya." I called, "Can you tell me why didn't you use Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon's effect to reduce my Life Points?"
"Uh… wait what?" Yuuya was confused. He pulled out the card in question and read it.
…
"You… didn't know? No… you didn't read your cards, did you?" I asked and narrowed eyes as I started glaring at him.
"Uh… I can explain," Yuuya tried to defend his action.
"Not only that, you didn't even read Abomination Arlekino's effect… didn't you?"
"Uh…"
"I did."
"So did I."
"Um, I also did." Good the kids aren't hopeless.
"Sakaki-kun…" But not this one.
"Geh."
"Well, there he goes again."
"How many times must I remind you to REAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!"
I can list down the number of times I yelled that word at Yuuya. In fact, this is giving me a complete sense of Déjà vu from a certain gag in an abridge series. I guess this is what I get for enjoying that running gag too much. Well, he's my student anyways so like it or not, I might as well start drilling the concept of READ into his head.
Thus begins a running gag…

Lastly, there could be a delay for the next chapter. This is due to the release of a new game that I am hyped about. The game will be released on the 25th of August 2023 and I will be binging on that game for a while. So before that happens, I will see if I can get chapter 5 done.
