Himiko Toga sat with her fellow classmates around a large television as they watched the U.A. Sports festival.
"This is boring." Toga muttered as she watched the festival
"Yeah, these guys fucking suck." live wire commented as she watched the sports festival with her arms crossed
"And Tara Markov of class 1A comes out of nowhere and takes the lead from Todoroki! No wonder these two were let in on recommendations!"
Holocaust squinted his eyes slightly, this girl seemed and looked familiar but he couldn't quite place where he had seen her before or if he was simply mistaking her for someone else.
"You know I didn't say this before but that boy with the red and white hair is cute." Mist said as she stared at the TV
"Too bad Peppermint's strength is non-existent, weakest ice user I've ever met." Frostbite remarked as he leaned against a wall with his arms crossed.
"Well he did use his ice to skate across the ground, and he managed to freeze that entire robot to make it fall on him, so he's obviously gotten better and more importantly he seems to be using his brain, something I didn't see from the brats much last time around." XL-Terrestrial commented.
"Those rot for brain heroes can't even build a robot properly, I mean look at the thing and the way it's built, the proportions are all wrong, the head is too big and worst of all they didn't even bother to give them legs, just threw some giant slow treads on them. Not surprising though, the guy who built them was that crud eating hero that I blew up." Gizmo said as he looked at the zero point robots on screen unimpressed.
"Even that couldn't get him first place though, but speaking of first place, who's that?" Mammoth asked as he looked at Terra who was floating on a platform of rock that she had pulled from the ground to use in order to fly through the obstacle race.
"She wasn't there during the fight, must be a new student." Jinx added as she watched the girl closely.
It was then that Red X began to speak. "She is an American transfer student who was brought in following one of the students of class 1A transferring out of the hero course and out of U.A. entirely." He said simply.
"Ah, figured as much, she does look American." Angel said.
Red X was one of the few individuals in this world who knew who she really was and who knew the details of her mission, after all it was due to her betrayal of the titans that he was able to be given this suit.
When Terra had managed to breach the files of the titans and steal their data under their noses by planting a virus given to her by Professor Ojo on the titans computer the league of shadows managed to learn a great deal, the identities of many of the titans were discovered along with various secret files, the files of the Red X suit and its whereabouts being one of them.
Of course Deathstroke knew that it would be best to keep this information hidden from many of the operatives in this universe. Not just because he felt they would leak intel or be captured, they had contingencies for that in general given they were from a different universe and didn't wish for the heroes of this world to learn anything about them unless it was on the Lights terms.
If and when she were to find herself in a combat situation with another operative from their universe it would likely be a life and death scenario. Of course he knew that Deathstroke didn't mind this, if anything it was likely intentional, to him he probably saw it as nothing more but a means to test her, Red X only hoped Deathstroke hadn't misplaced his faith in her.
Looking back at the screen Red X continued to watch the sports festival with the other students of Alpha-1.
As they watched everything was relatively the same, with Terra Markov in first place and Todoroki not far behind, however that didn't stay the same for long as Katsuki Bakugo went blasting through the air right past Todoroki, and quickly gaining on Terra.
"Oh it's that explosion kid, I somewhat remember him from the fight at the USJ, I'm pretty sure he was knocked out for the whole duration of the battle though, Red X took care of him early on." Jinx said as she stared at the screen.
"Yeah we carried him and the other guy to the center plaza when Red X beat him." The voice of the multiple Numerouses in the room said simultaneously.
Terra and Bakugo began to fight as they were racing over the final obstacle which was a minefield.
"Would be way more invested in this rubbish if they used real explosives instead of this crap." Punk Rocket said as he watched the screen unamused, he saw Jirou who he thought of as somewhat of a future arch nemesis to be a little ways in the back running past a boy who was… digging in the ground with a piece of metal from the robot?
Toga stared at the screen growing curious as she too noticed the boy in the back digging in the ground with the piece of metal, from how far the camera was she couldn't get a good look at him but something about the boy drew her eye.
"The girl with the rock abilities is using the mines in the ground as weapons, that is quite innovative." Private Hive commented
It was then that the camera showed a large explosion of pink that erupted from the track.
"Wonder what caused that." Shimmer remarked.
Out of the smoke came a familiar looking boy with a mop of green hair and freckles came shooting out of the smoke holding onto a piece of metal from a zero point robot.
"Woah i remember this kid, he's the only one who was actually worth being a person of interest." XL said as he watched the kid fly through the air
They watched as the boy shot past both Terra and Bakugo who were momentarily frozen in shock.
"Incredible! What just happened!? Whatever the case, class 1A's Izuku Midoriya is suddenly in hot pursuit of first place! Scratch that the lead is his!"
As the cameras panned on Izuku Toga got a good look at the boy and her cheeks became red as she looked at the boy and brought her hands up to her face as the sleeves of her uniform covered the lower part of her face.
'Izuku Midoryia, I can't wait to get my hands on you and bloody you up.' Toga thought to herself as she looked at the screen
Her noticeably red cheeks and her facial expression did not go unnoticed.
"See something you like huh?" Mist asked teasingly with a mischievous grin on her face.
It was then that it came to Toga that until now she never had talked about having a crush on a boy to anyone before, especially people her age.
She turned to Mist with a smile that would unsettle many. "I do! That Izuku boy just looks so cute! Imagine how cute he would look bloodied up! I hope I get to meet him someday." Toga remarked as she giggled, garnering various looks from her fellow classmates from weirded out to amused, disgusted, curious, and outright flat stares from some.
"Weirdo." Gizmo muttered.
"Oh she's one of those crazy types, guess I shouldn't be surprised by that." Frostbite commented
"I mean it was kind of obvious from the jump, if it makes it any better I don't see a problem with it, girls just got a blood fetish I guess." XL-terrestrial casually remarked.
Livewire looked at Mist who looked back at her before twirling her finger at the side of her head.
Mist then looked back at Toga who looked at them all with blank expressions.
"Well I mean the boy is kinda cute, the green hair and the freckles make him look adorable." Mist remarked.
"Eh, he's not all that, truth be told none of the boys in that class are really my type, besides that guy looks like a total dork." Jinx said offhandedly
"From the looks of it the dork might actually win the race for what it's worth." See-more pointed out as everyone's attention was redirected to the screen.
Izuku Midoriya was losing momentum and falling to the ground fast, in a last ditch effort to win he slammed the piece of metal which he was holding onto into the ground where a small pile of mines were.
The result was yet another explosion of pink which sent Izuku flying further toward the finish line and further away from his opponents who were now scrambling to catch up as Izuku landed on his feet and instantly ran as fast as he could to the finish line.
Many of Alpha-1 watched with little to no amusement, some were impressed by the boys quick thinking however.
Toga in particular was on the edge of her seat, even though she had only laid eyes on him moments before she already wanted to see Izuku win.
It was then that the camera showed who the first to cross the finish line was, which was none other than Izuku Midoriya.
"Well I gotta hand it to the guy, he has a brain." Mammoth remarked as he looked at the screen.
"Yeah, more like snot for brains, he just used the mines as a means to propel himself past the others, since the mines weren't real getting blown to bits was something he didn't have to worry about., anybody could have done what he did." Gizmo said as he glared at the screen.
"So either this guy is smarter than everyone there or everyone there is just an idiot." Holocaust mused.
"I'm pretty sure it's both." Jinx remarked.
"Still can't believe they have entire fucking sports dedicated to heroes, these people really just can't help but to jerk themselves off every chance they get even after we beat their symbol of peace into a bloody pulp." Livewire remarked as she looked at the TV with a scowl forming on her face.
"The heroes here are certainly full of themselves." Private Hive added.
"Not to mention stupid, this is literally just broadcasting the names and abilities of heroes which we can create contingencies for." Angel said.
"I guess that's what happens when the worst villains you have to deal with are the league of villains." Jinx said as she tried and failed to stifle a laugh causing several of the students of Alpha-1 to laugh. Even now after all this time the name of that small backwater villain group they faced still brought laughs out of most of the students.
"Still can't believe those crud licking losers would use a name like that." Gizmo said as he laughed.
"The villains and heroes here are mediocre, I mean just look at these people, nearly everyone on that track would die if they fought us, hell we could've killed those class 1-A brats if we wanted to." Icicle Jr remarked.
"You know what, why don't we go down there and show these people what real strength looks like." Mammoth commented as he punched into the palm of his hand.
"The headmaster hasn't given us any orders to, him and the higher ups are probably watching this as well and are most likely using it as a means to gather more data on them. Like Angel said, they are putting their names, faces, and abilities all out on display, thus presenting the headmaster and the higher ups with data of our enemies on a silver platter." Jinx said which caused Mammoth to frown.
"Not a surprise that the higher ups are using this to gather data, what does somewhat surprise me is the incompetence of these heroes, if I remember correctly the principal of that school is supposed to be some kind of genius, he certainly does a very shitty job at showing it." Red X remarked.
"Yeah that is true, though I wouldn't call it surprising the heroes here are just that dumb, even their so-called 'smart' ones."
Toga wasn't paying too much attention to their conversation but one thing she took mental note of was the fact that Brother Blood seemed to not be the only one in charge and if anything may have been taking orders from someone higher, and that these people were using the sports festival as a means to gather up data on the U.A. students.
Of course Toga didn't really care about there being higher ups, honestly her only interest as of now was seeing if Izuku would get bloodied up during this sports festival, at this point that was all she had interest in seeing, nothing else really mattered, if he didn't get bloodied up she hoped she would have the honors of bloodying him up herself.
Rose stared at her phone screen while sitting as she watched Terra in the sports festival, unfortunately due to the noise of a large crowd around her she couldn't hear what the announcer was saying but from what she was seeing she didn't need to.
Terra had lost, and from the looks of it in an upset, her spot was taken from under her by Izuku Midoriya, the green haired boy who was a person of interest and one of the reasons Terra was sent to U.A. In the first place.
Part of her wanted to be angry, but another part of her was somewhat glad she had come in second, now she would have something to make fun of her about.
Rose enjoyed it when she was able to tease Terra, rather it was during their training and various spars or other things like this, Rose enjoyed taking shots at Terra whenever she could, of course she knew Terra probably disliked her and mainly for that reason.
Rose would never admit it, not to anyone, not even herself, but she viewed Terra almost like a little sister in a way deep down, after all they both wanted the same things, they wanted to make their dad and the other members of the Light happy.
Originally Rose was resentful and even jealous of Terra for the time and faith her father invested into the girl, when he had told her to aid in her training she wanted nothing more than to destroy her to prove to her dad that she was more worthy, she demeaned and belittled the girl all the time and was cold toward her, however as time went on and they trained together more Terra began to grow on her somewhat, granted she didn't get too attached given that Terra stood between her and her father but she could tolerate the girls presence by this point
Of course things were very far from perfect but deep down she still had some semblance of care for the girl even though she did pick on her it became more of the way an older sibling would pick on a younger sibling so she didn't carry the usual disdain she had for most with Terra.
She didn't know if Terra noticed it, Terra's attitude was always the same towards her, to Rose she didn't care if Terra didn't forgive her, it was just how she came to treat Terra and at this point she doubt it would change.
Rose heard an announcer call the name of some contestant as the group roared loud, looks like it was her cue, she put the phone away and stood up before sliding a mask on which went down to her nose, the mask was split in two, one half orange and the other half black, the orange side had a white lens for her eye to see through but the black side had no lens due to it being the side of her face where her eye patch was. The mask also made all of her hair come out on the back of her mask where it ended.
"Next up is a new fighter on the scene who has come to put her skills to the test, give it up for Ravager!" A voice announced as she walked into a cage like arena with crowds of people, some cheered her and others booed, it didn't matter to her however, she had a task to complete.
Shigaraki sat in front of two computer screens as he stared at the ongoing sports festival.
Only one of the screens displayed the sports festival as the other simply read audio only.
Shigaraki observed the boy with interest, he somewhat remembered the brat from the USJ but Shigaraki had been too busy focusing on those Hive Academy brats to pay much mind to the UA students.
It was then that Shigaraki thought to ask something that his brain truly has not processed until now.
"Master, what exactly is our goal now?"
"Hm? What do you mean?" Sensei asked curiously.
"All Might was defeated and humiliated by those brats, they showed his true form to the world and broadcasted his failure. They did what we never were able to, those damn brats came out of nowhere and took what was rightfully ours."
"Ah, I understand your concerns Tomura, but rest assured we still have a goal, for you see All Might would have passed on his quirk by now, One for all is still out there, and until I have what rightfully belongs to me there is still work to be done." Sensei said in response to Shigaraki's question.
"And you believe that those brats from Hive Academy can help?" Shigaraki asked.
"Indeed I do, they showed themselves to be capable in battle being able to best both All Might and the Nomu. I am also interested in this so-called villain school itself. Usually things as big as that do not happen without me finding out in some way yet nobody knows where this villain school came from, it's as if they appeared out of thin air, not to mention various other things that have been happening in the criminal underworld that may be connected to this villain school." Sensei explained over the monitor as Shigaraki listened intently.
"I think I understand now Sensei." Shigaraki said as a grin grew across his face that would unsettle most. He was now more motivated to continue his work for him and his masters plan, even though he still was not fond of the brats that took what was rightfully theirs it seemed his master still had a plan and despite his anger for the brats still prevalent he would trust his masters plan.
In the Midoriya household Inko watched as her boy made it across the finish line and won the obstacle race of the U.A. Sports festival.
"Oh Izuku my baby!" She yelled in excitement and joy as tears streamed down her face.
It had always been her son's dream to become hero despite being diagnosed quirkless, when his quirk manifested she was a bit worried about him becoming a hero, those worries grew ten fold following the attack on U.A. and the defeat of All Might on national television. However, the sight of her son winning the first game of the sports festival made her feel proud as a mom. Izuku was accomplishing his dream and despite her worries she couldn't be more happy.

Death Arms, Kamui Woods, and Mt lady stood as they guarded the outer part of the stadium as they turned to face a monitor that was on the outside of the stadium showing Izuku winning the obstacle race.
"Hey isn't that the kid from that sludge villain attack." Death Arms asked as he looked at the screen.
"Oh yeah, I remember that kid, looks like he's going places." Kamui Woods remarked.
The remaining contestants made their way to the finish line as they all stopped to gather a quick breath.
"The first game for the first years is finally over and what a game it was now let's take a quick look at the standings shall we." Midnight said as the screens showed where everyone was in the standings.
Izuku Midoryia came in first Place, with Tara Markov coming second and Katsuki Bakugo coming third, then in fourth place was Shoto Todoroki and in fifth place was class 1B's Ibara Shiozaki.
The remainder of the contestants that were left consisted mainly of hero course students with a few general studies and support course students slipping through the cracks.
"Only the top forty two will advance to the next round but don't be too let if you didn't make the cut, we've prepared other opportunities to allow you to shine." Midnight said as she licked her lips.
"Now the real fun is about to begin, this a chance to get yourself the spotlight and give it your all." Midnight said before the hologram appeared above her again and began to spin, selecting what the next game would be. "Let's see what we have in store for you next. What could it be? The waiting is torture. Prepare yourselves! For this!"
The spinning stopped as the next game was revealed to be a cavalry battle.
"Cavalry battle? I'm terrible at those." Kaminari grumbled somewhat annoyed at what the next game was.
"It's not an individual event, I wonder how they'll split us up." Asui thought out loud with her finger to her chin.
Terra only had one thought on her mind when she saw what the next game would be.
'What the hell is a cavalry battle?'
"Allow me to explain. The participants will form teams of two to four people as they see fit. It's basically the same as a regular play, but there is one difference, each player has been assigned a point value based on their performance in the obstacle course."
"So that means each team will have a different point value based on which students are on it." Uraraka noted.
"The point assignments go up by increments of five starting from the bottom, for example forty second place is worth five points and forty first place is worth 10." Midnight explained "and the point value assigned to the first place contestant is… ten million!"
Izuku immediately became stiff as a statue as immediately all forty one heads of the remaining contestants immediately swung his direction, Izuku wanted to shrink in on himself and vanish from sight then and there.
Terra's mouth was agape, she understood wanting to make it harder on the winner of the last game but ten million points!? That was a death sentence for Izuku, now everyone will be gunning for him.
She honestly felt bad, he had worked so hard, while she was confident in his abilities she wondered if he could manage to win despite everyone being against him, even now they all stared at him like he was a slab of meat.
Midnight licked her lips as she gazed down upon Izuku and the other contestants. "That's right, this is a chance for those at the bottom to overthrow the top!"
"And with that out of the way let's go over what the rules of this game will be shall we? The game itself will last fifteen minutes, individual point values will be added together to reach your team total, everyone will know what you're worth thanks to your headbands. Swipe as many headbands as you can to raise your teams score, stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up so the more you steal the harder it will be to manage them. And another thing, even if your headband gets stolen or your team falls down you can keep playing until time runs out."
"It's anyone's game then." Momo mused.
"Yeah since there are forty two contestants there would be ten to twelve teams fighting on the field the entire time." Sato added.
"Sounds hard." Aoyama remarked.
"So if you lose your headband at the beginning you have more time to make up a plan." Mina mused.
"I don't know Mina maybe we should wait and see how the teams turn out before we start strategizing" Asui retorted
"This is going to be rough! You may use your quirks as much as you like! But there are still rules! Make a team fall on purpose and I'll slap you with a red card and you'll be disqualified! Now you've got fifteen minutes to build your teams! I recommend you get started!" Midnight said as students began to form various teams.
Izuku quickly began to strategize and plan on who he wanted on his team. 'It doesn't matter how many points my teammates have since I've got so many, I just need to make sure I pick the right people, ok! I know who I want.'
Most people didn't want to team up with Izuku due to the target he had on his back, none the less he was still seeking out those who he knew could be great on his team.
Fortunately one of those people seeked him out.
"Hey Deku!"
Izuku turned to see who called his name only to smile in relief.
"Let's team up!" Uraraka said with enthusiasm.
Izuku became somewhat flustered as he looked away. "Are you sure? Everyone will be after me due to the target on my back." He uttered nervously.
"If we run away the whole time then we'll win right?" Uraraka asked not losing her enthusiasm.
"Ur either overestimating me or underestimating everyone else here." Izuku said dejectedly
"Silly! It's better to team up with people you like!"
Izuku became more flustered as he tried to look away from Uraraka.
"Hey Deku you alright? You look pretty red."
"I-I'm fine, besides I wanted to team up with you too, thanks a lot." Izuku said as he looked at Uraraka with a smile.
"You're right for a game that requires so much teamwork it's good to find people you communicate smoothly with." Izuku added causing Uraraka to nod in agreement
"In fact if we had your quirk and the other person I'm interested in having on our team… you know what I just might have a solid plan." Izuku said as Uraraka looked at him, curious to know what his plan was.
Izuku then marched toward the person he needed in order for his plan to work.
"Iida!" He called out as he approached the boy with Uraraka behind him as he turned to face them, both of them smiling.
Izuku then begins to explain his plan.
However, as Izuku was explaining, he was cut off by Iida.
"Apologies Midoriya, but I must refuse your offer."
Both Izuku and Uraraka let out shocked gasps, not expecting their friend to reject their offer.
"Since this all started I have been losing to you. Please don't take this as an insult, you're a great friend, if I continue to follow you I'll never get stronger." Iida explained. "Bakugo and Todoroki have challenged you already, but they aren't the only ones who see you as a rival, Midoriya, I will do my best to defeat you."
"Iida.." Uraraka muttered nervously as she looked at Midoriya who stood there with a serious expression, he realized that he wouldn't be able to rely on anyone this time around as they were all gunning for his head and if he wanted to make it out of this next tournament he would have to adapt accordingly.
It was then that Izuku heard a chuckle and a noise that resembled a vacuum.
"Oh perfect you're still alone, and you're the star of the show."
Izuku and Uraraka turn back to see who spoke.
Right in front of his face was a girl with weird goggles on her face as well as various pieces of support gear strapped to her
"Team up with me! Person in first place!"
Izuku was both flustered and taken aback by how close the girl was.
"So close! Who are you!?"
"I'm from the support course, names Mei Hatsume!" The girl exclaimed as she lifted her goggles up revealing her eyes that looked similar to the scope of a sniper rifle.
"Oh you're that weirdo from the obstacle course." Uraraka said as she thought back to when she last encountered the pink haired girl.
"We haven't met but I'd like to use your current situation to my personal advantage."
She immediately got close to the both of them causing them to back up in surprise.
"If I team up with you then I'll be part of the team that everyone's after! I'll get the spotlight and with so many teams gunning for us I'll have plenty of opportunities to test my plethora of babies!"
"Then I'll be one step closer to winning the sports festival and being eligible for the hero course!" Mei told them as she wore a large enthusiastic smile.
"Wait, slow down, did you bring real babies here or..?" Uraraka asked as she was confused by the girls wording
Izuku also picked up on something the girl had said but it wasn't the part about babies.
"Wait, you want to be a part of the hero course?" He asked
"Mhm." Was all she said in reply while nodding her head.
"What made you want to switch from the support course to the hero course?" he asked, generally curious as to why a support course student would want to switch to the hero course
At the question the girl stiffened, while her smile didn't leave her face completely it became less big and more strained, he could see in her eyes that the answer wasn't a simple one.
"As support students it is our job to make the best technology for heroes to use alongside their quirks to take down villains and help people, technology is made to help people and better the world."
"But… that day at the USJ, those villains displayed some of the most advanced technologies ever seen, and instead of using it for good those people chose to use it to hurt people, to kill people, to kill Powerloader." Mei said not even realizing that she was clenching her fists to the point her knuckles were turning white.
"Originally I would have never considered becoming a hero, after all my quirk isn't the best for that sort of thing anyways, but after they killed Powerloader I just feel like I need to do more than work from the sidelines, I need to be helping on the frontline." She said as she never took her eyes of Izuku who had a look of surprise along with Uraraka.
"That is why I want to become a part of the hero course, so I can use my babies on the frontlines to help people, and stop villains, stopping Hive Academy, stopping…him." She said as she uttered the last part quietly more to herself than to anyone else.
Izuku was completely taken aback by the girl's words, he knew there could be many reasons for a support student to want to transfer to the hero course but he wasn't expecting that, however his look of surprise turned into a look of understanding.
"I understand how you feel, and I have no doubt that you can become a hero Hatsume."
The look in her eyes changed and her body became less tense as she looked at him.
"Yeah, I think that's pretty heroic, you want to use your support tech to act as a hero! That's an amazing idea!" Uraraka exclaimed looking at the girl enthusiastically.
Mei hadn't been expecting that, most of the people she had told this to said that she was being emotional and in over her head, or they would say that she didn't have a good enough quirk for it.
"Thank you." She said as her smile grew in size and her eyes seemed to beam with hope and excitement.
"Now like I was saying." She said as her hyper and energetic mood returned as if nothing happened. "I had a ton of powerful babies to bring with me so I'm sure you'll find something that you like floating around my arsenal!"
"Oh I see this one caught your eye!" Mei said as she pulled out a jet pack. "I based this off a certain hero's backpack but of course I added my own twist."
"Wait, I recognize that! Air Jet the jet set hero has one of those!" Izuku exclaimed as his inner fanboy began to show.
Mei chuckled at Izuku's enthusiasm.
"I love that guy!"
"Isn't he awesome?" Mei asked.
"Mhm, his agency's close by so I got to go on a tour one time!" Izuku exclaimed with excitement.
'They sure get along well.' Uraraka thought as she stood off to the side and watched the two talk. She felt the same feeling she felt when she saw Deku talking to Terra, though she couldn't quite describe it.
Izuku then stopped talking and began to quickly think of a new plan, with Iida working with Todoroki his previous plan wouldn't work.
He glanced over at Terra, only to see people crowded around her, if she didn't have a team yet she would any moment now, and while he didn't believe she had the same unwavering determination to beat him that the others did he had no doubt that she would come for him if the opportunity presented itself.
With that he began to look around for anyone who could fill the role he needed to pull off his plan.
He instantly spots someone who could fit perfectly with his plan and wasted no time in making his way to the person in question.
He walked over to the person and put a hand on his shoulder.
"Tokoyami, join me."
Tokoyami turned to face him and nodded. "Very well Midoriya."
"I chose the three of you because I believe we will make for the most stable formation possible." Todoroki said, looking at his other three teammates.
"Kaminari's our left wing, he can use his quirk to keep enemies at bay"
"Yaoyorozu, you'll take the right wing, focus on insulation and defense."
"Iida you'll take the front, we'll rely on you for mobility and physical defense."
"And you'll be attacking and creating diversions of ice and fire is that right?" Iida asked Todoroki.
"Not quite, when I'm in battle I never use my left side." He said, glaring up at the stands to see his father who was standing on the top of the stands glaring right back at his son.
Terra knew that when she came second place in the obstacle race it would draw attention to herself.
So it didn't come as a shock to her when many of her classmates began asking if she wanted to team up with them.
However she knew she couldn't just pick anybody, she'd need a group that she knew could work in her favor, of course there was a big part of her that wanted to team up with Izuku, but she had seen him talking with Uraraka and Iida, not to mention the target she would have on her back if she joined him.
Even if she did, their quirks weren't ideal for what she had in mind.
"Hey Terra, we should team up!" Sato said, looking at the girl hoping she would take him.
"Sorry Sato but you're not what I'm looking for, no offense."
"Oh, well ok." Sato said looking defeated at being denied the offer.
"Come on Terra help a girl out I could really use you for my team!" Toru pleaded
Terra looked at Toru's team which consisted of Jirou and Koda, she knew the former could actually be useful but Toru and Koda wouldn't really do it for her, to her knowledge Koda's quirk involved talking to animals, which unfortunately wouldn't be of much use for her, sure he was big, but if strength was what she was looking for she would've went with Sato or attempted to recruit Kirishima.
And of course there was Toru herself, she liked the girl, she really did, but honestly her quirk would only be useful in very specific circumstances and from the footage of the USJ attack she knew the girl could be seen by anyone with thermal vision, she'd die ever trying to sneak into a shadows base or really any facility that was overseen by the light.
"Sorry Toru you have a good team but not quite what i'm looking for."
"Aw man, well hey good luck." Toru said.
Terra couldn't see the girl's face but she knew from her voice that she probably had a beaming smile on her face.
"No problem." She replied, giving Toru a bright smile before turning to find the proper teammates.
It didn't take long for her to find two people who might work.
"Hey Shoji, Tsu!" She called out to the two as they both turned to her.
"You guys wanna team up?" She asked
"Sure, Ribbit."
A mouth appears on one of Shoji's arms as he speaks
"Why not, let's do it." Shoji said
"So do we try and find one more person or will the three of us be enough? Ribbit." Tsu asked
"Well let's see, we have myself who can float us on a platform of rock to float us around, we have you to use your tongue to steal people's headbands, and Shoji to use his arms and spread them out and use them as eyes, that way he has a whole 360 view around us and can act as the perfect eyes in the sky, however, with your tongue we would still need to get somewhat close to our opponents." Terra mused with her hand cupped on her chin.
"We could use someone with a more long range quirk but you may have the most ideal long range quirk for it in our class, I think we can make it work." Terra said as she glanced back up at Tsu and Shoji.
Tsuyu and Shoji both nodded.
However as Tsuyu was about to ask Terra about a game plan an unfamiliar voice spoke.
"Uh hi, I was hoping I could join your team, I heard you say something about long range and I think I could be of some use."
All three turned to see who had spoken.
Standing there was a blonde girl with a set of horns sticking out of her head, along with Prussian blue eyes.
"Oh you're from class 1B aren't you?" Tsuyu asked.
"Yep, sure am, I also happen to be the American transfer student of class 1B." The girl said
Terra was briefly surprised before her surprise turned into joy as a beaming smile grew on her face.
"Oh that's so awesome! Here I thought I was the only foreign exchange student at U.A."
"Yeah I know right! I had heard about you from some of my classmates and then I saw your performance during the obstacle race! You have such a powerful quirk." The girl complimented as she gave a smile in return.
"Your name is Tara right? I'm Pony by the way, Pony Tsunatori." The girl now known as Pony introduced herself.
"Oh nice to meet ya Pony, yes Tara is my name but you can just call me Terra."
"I'm surprised, I didn't think anyone from 1B would team up with anybody from 1A." Asui remarked.
"Well I couldn't pass up the opportunity to team up with another American girl, also I think my quirk could be a big help to you guys." Pony said in reply.
"What is your quirk pony?" Terra asked.
"My quirk allows me to shoot my horns from my head and send them anywhere I want them to go, they regrow on my head pretty much instantly so I can fire them continuously."
Terra cupped her chin in thought for a moment before growing a big smile. "That will definitely work, you're in Pony." Terra said, causing Pony to smile.
"So are we going after Midoriya first?" Tsu asked.
"No, we won't do that." Terra responded.
This garnered a somewhat surprised look from Pony while Shoji raised his eyebrow and Tsu's expression remained the same.
"Everyone is going to gun after Midoriya the second the game starts, while Midoriya is worth the most he isn't the only player with a headband." Terra said. "Since everyone is going after Midoriya they'll be too busy playing offense to play defense, especially teams who lack players capable of playing good defense."
"So while everyone's strategy will be to go after Midoriya and his team, our strategy will be to orbit around Midoriya from the air and take out the other teams gunning after him. We'll be floating overhead at a good enough distance that most of them won't be able to attack us, Tsu can use her tongue to reach down and snatch headbands and Pony can use her horns to snatch headbands or ward off the few people who are capable of reaching us. Shoji is our eyes in the sky, with his arms being spread out turned into eyes he would have a better view and would be able to tell us who is where and warn us of incoming attacks." Terra said with a look of determination on her face.
Tsu took mental note of the fact that Terra was actually a surprisingly good planner.
"That's a great idea Terra! We would totally catch the teams off guard with a plan like that!" Pony exclaimed as she was beginning to get excited.
"Let's save the excitement for when we actually make it to the next round." Terra commented
All three of her teammates nodded in agreement.
It was then that she wrapped the headband around her head as the games were about to start.
"Ok all you first years! I hope you're happy with your chosen teams!" Present Mic bellowed as everyone got ready for the next game.
As Terra and her team got ready she noticed some of the 1B students looking at them, specifically at Pony, probably wondering why she'd team up with someone from class 1A.
"Let's get this party started! One final countdown before the game starts!" Present Mic said as the crowd began to cheer.
"Three!"
"Let's get him." Bakugo said, cracking his knuckles.
"Two!"
"He's ours." Todoroki murmured as he stared at Midoriya.
"One!"
"We got this guys! Just remember the plan!" Terra said with a determined look.
"Begin!" Midnight shouted.
As Izuku predicted, all the other teams instantly came straight for him.
Izuku widened his eyes in shock for a brief moment.
"Not even giving us the chance huh, such is the fate of the pursued." Tokoyami remarked as the other teams descended upon them.
"It's basically one big battle for 10 million points!" Tetsu Tetsu shouted as he and his team charged toward Midoriya.
Toru laughed as she and her team consisting of Jirou, Kota, and Sato ran toward them. "That headband is ours Midoriya!" Toru shouted.
"Here they come." Mei said with an undertone of excitement in her voice.
'This is it.' Uraraka thought to herself
"Make your choice Midoriya!" Tokoyami exclaimed.
"We need to run! We don't stand a chance if we take them all at once!" Izuku said quickly as the teams closed in on them.
"I don't think so!" Tetsu Tetsu exclaimed as one of the 1B students stomped his foot down causing the ground Izuku's team was standing on to become like quick sand as they all began to sink into it.
'It must be that guy's quirk!' Izuku thought quickly as he looked at the boy from class 1B who had a rather skeletal appearance with an exposed row of teeth.
"We're sinking!" Uraraka exclaimed as she began to panic!
"No good I can't get out!" Uraraka said as she tried in vain to get free from the ground.
"Uraraka! Hatsume! Watch your faces!" Izuku shouted
The girls both looked away as Izuku activated the jetpack given to him by Hatsume, with him and his team beginning to fly upward before bursting from the ground, freeing themselves from their predicament.
"He flew!? Damnit! After them!" Tetsu Tetsu shouted as his team turned around to chase after Midoriya's team.
Upon flying up they could see Terra and her team floating on a platform of grass and dirt that was seemingly uprooted from the ground by Terra.
"Jirou now!" Toru shouted as they got close to Midoriya's team.
"I know!" Jirou exclaimed as she sent her earphone jacks towards Midoriya and his team.
However it ended up being for nothing as Tokoyami's Dark Shadow quickly swatted the earphone jacks away.
And not a second later did a tongue wrap around Toru's headband before yanking it off.
"M-my headband!" Toru exclaimed in shock.
Terra and her team flew overhead, not even glancing back at Toru and her team.
"That's one, still got a lot more to go!" Terra remarked.
"Good work, please continue to watch over our dark spots, Dark Shadow." Tokoyami said.
"This is good, your shadow is just what we needed, Tokoyami, it's perfect for taking care of our mid range defenses, your quirk is amazing Tokoyami." Izuku praised.
"You are the one who chose me." Tokoyami said simply.
"We're landing!" Uraraka said as they all landed on the ground, managing to soften their landing with her quirk.
'Good thing we have Uraraka and her quirk, she's floating everything but the equipment.' Izuku thought
"So what do you think of my babies? Aren't they just wonderful?!" Hatsume asked with excitement in her voice.
"They have excellent mobility, your babies are great Hatsume." Izuku told her.
"Aw thanks!" Hatsume said.
"I'm the one who's making us float." Uraraka murmured.
"Wow! Barely two minutes have passed since we started and it's already been a total free for all! Watch those headbands! You can even ignore the ten
Million points and go after other contestants!" Present Mic exclaimed.
"We're not down for the count just yet Midoriya!" Toru shouted as she ran toward
Him from one side with her teammates.
Tetsu Tetsu's team also was making a Beeline for Midoriya and his team.
"We've got incoming! Two teams coming at us from different sides, we cannot get trapped between multiple opponents." Tokoyami said.
"Tetsu Tetsu's team is about to intercept Midoriya's team." Shoji informed Terra as he was behind Terra with his arms spread out with eyes on them, looking down at the various other teams below.
To his left was Pony, and to his right was Asui, all of them standing on the platform as it floated in the air.
"Alright! Pony you know what to do!" Terra said!
"On it!" Pony responded as she shot two horns out her head down toward Tetsu Tetsu.
Quickly noticing the horns coming toward him Tetsu Tetsu forms his arm into metal blocking the first horn, unfortunately he was unable to block the second one as it went around his arm and swooped up his headband from his head as it quickly flew back to Pony
"Our headband! Pony you damn traitor!" Tetsu Tetsu shouted.
As much as Tetsu Tetsu hated it he knew there wasn't much he could do to retrieve his headband, it's not like any of his teammates could fly up to get his headband from the new girl of glass 1A.
"Good work Pony! We've got two so far!" Terra complimented while steering the platform they were all floating on.
Midoriya's team quickly shot up back into the air thanks to gadgets that hatsume made.
It was then that someone blasted toward Midoriya's team at a high rate of speed.
That someone was none other than Bakugo as he made his way to Midoriya at a high rate of speed.
Izuku turned his head back to see his Bakugo, his eyes widening in shock and worry.
"Kacchan." Izuku muttered
"It's Bakugo, he's going for Midoriya by the looks of it!" Shoji informed Terra and the others.
'What is with this guy, he always seems like he's got it out for Izuku, yet again he seems to always have it out for everyone.' Terra thought inwardly before responding.
"Alright let's see if we can snatch that headband while he's distracted." Terra said as she quickly flew Bakugo's direction.
"Don't think for a second you're safe!" Bakugo exclaimed.
"I've got you!" Bakugo roared as he aimed his palm at Izuku to blast him
"Tokoyami!" Izuku shouted.
Letting the blast out of the palm of his hand Bakugo smirked as he thought he had blown the little bastard to bits.
However his grin quickly turned into a scowl when he saw that his attack had been blocked by Tokoyami's shadow.
The crowd roared in excitement as they watched the entire ordeal unfold.
"Woah! Bakugo has been separated from his team!"
"What the hell." Was all Bakugo could utter before he ended up falling back down.
As soon as he began to fall Terra got in range allowing Asui to use her tongue to take Bakugo's headband.
However Sero's tape wrapped around Bakugo's waist pulling him back down before being caught by Sero, Mina, and Kirishima.
"Damnit!" Terra said a bit frustrated that she was unable to get Bakugo's headband.
Terra quickly went down to get another shot at Bakugo's headband only for something unexpected to happen!"
"Now who to take a look at each student's points so far!? It's been seven minutes so let's get those rankings thrown up on the screen!"
Upon the showing of the rankings everyone in the crowd falls into silence, some even gasping in surprise.
"Hold on here, this is an unexpected turn, other than Midoriya and Markov class 1A isn't doing so hot, even Bakugo is losing!" Present Mic said to the audience.
At the same time, Bakugo had his headband snatched off by Monoma of class 1B as his team ran past him.
"Your class is too small minded, think bigger."
"How did he get us!?" Mina asked, looking at Monoma and his team in shock.
"What the hell did you just say?! Come back here!" Bakugo yelled in anger.
"Midnight said the obstacle course was just the first game, and we figured they wouldn't cut that many of us right off the bat, would they? Assuming they'd keep at least 40 contestants for the next event, all we had to do was make sure we stayed in that group as we ran."
"Thanks to the USJ attack we were able to see the quirks of our rivals on national television as they were nothing short of humiliated. Not to mention your class mates showing off with their quirks during the race to make it to the top, giving us better time to see your quirks more up close and plan accordingly. Only a fool would obsess over winning the preliminary rounds wouldn't you agree? After all it's not like I could see your quirk in action much during the USJ considering you couldn't even hold your own for ten seconds against a villain." Monoma condescendingly said all while smirking at Bakugo.
Bakugo's eye twitched at being reminded of the USJ attack, and his utter failure in beating that nobody.
"While the decision wasn't totally unanimous it's playing out well in our favor."
"Oh, while I have your attention, the USJ isn't all you're known for either , you also got attacked by that sludge villain, you'll have to tell me about it one day, must be something to have the reputation of a victim, not that I can relate." Monona remarked with that same smirk and condescending tone.
Mina, Kirishima, and Sero all wore a frown, that was a pretty nasty thing to say, as crass as Bakugo could be at times he didn't deserve that to be said to him.
Monoma then looks at the other three before speaking.
"Don't worry, I'm not mad at you guys, I actually feel pretty bad. If I had a track record of losing and then had to be paired with someone with an even bigger track record of losing I'd be embarrassed too."
At this point Bakugo was seeing red, filled with nothing but pure rage, with a deep scowl and eyes filled with nothing but hatred.
"Kirishima, we have a change of plans." Bakugo said in a dark and menacing tone that sent shivers down the spine of his teammates.
"Before we take down Deku we're going to murder every last one of these B list bastards." Bakugo declared leaving no room for argument.
Normally Kirishima would have told Bakugo to calm down and keep a level head but… after what that class 1B kid said he would be lying if he said he wasn't a little bit angry.
'Alright! Let's do this!" Kirishima exclaimed as he glared at Monoma before charging straight for them.
"You think you're tough?! DIE!" Bakugo yelled in fury as he aimed his palm right in Monoma's face to blow the bastard to bits.
Monoma only smirked at the attempt as he moved his head out the way and seemed to push Bakugo's arm away with his palm.
Bakugo whirled around only to be hit in the face at point blank range by an explosion.
Monoma gave a condescending smile afterward before speaking. "Wow, I see why you like this quirk."
Right after saying this he swipes his hand grazing the top of Kirishima's hair.
"My power? YOU USED MY OWN POWER YOU COPY CAT BASTARD!" Bakugo exclaimed angrily.
"Woah weird that guy has your quirk!" Kirishima exclaimed though more so in shock than anger.
"DAMNIT!" Bakugo shouted before hurling a larger and even more powerful blast at Monoma.
"You both have impressive powers but I think it's safe to say mine is superior." Monoma said as the dust cleared to reveal Monoma's body was hardened.
"Huh!? What! Mine too!?" Kirishima asked, clearly shocked by this revelation.
"The copy cat bastard's quirk lets him copy other people's quirks." Bakugo said with a snarl.
"So, even an idiot can figure it out." Monoma commented while looking at Bakugo.
Bakugo growled angrily and was preparing to charge at them again only for another team to run up on them.
One of the students who had what looked like a bell with holes on it spewed out a substance from the holes which covered their feet.
"Nice one, thanks for the backup Bondo." Monoma said.
"Monoma, if we keep those headbands we're good, as long as no one gets near us we'll make our class proud." Kaibara, another student of class 1B and Monoma's teammate said before they began to move.
"STOP THEM!" Bakugo shouted in fury.
'It's too sticky!" Kirishima exclaimed while he tried in vain to move his foot from the sticky substance that Bondo guy had spewed onto them. "Crap I can't move!"
"No problem! I'll melt through this gunk with my quirk!" Mina said as she began to melt through the substance with her acid.
"Hurry! we're sitting in zero points now!" Sero exclaimed.
Monoma turned his head back to look at them as he and his team ran off with their headband. "Oh no hard feelings right? After all, you provoked us. What was it you said in your little speech before the games? Oh right 'i'm going to win' those were your exact words, I guess all that talk didn't translate in the end did it.
Bakugo just glared at the 1B extra with gritted teeth and eyes filled with fury.
Not far away Izuku landed down with the rest of his team after getting some distance away from Bakugo, from what he could see and what present mic said it looked like Kacchan was in a confrontation with one of the class 1B students.
Lucky for him, it seemed many of the other teams were occupied trying to get more headbands or retrieve their own.
'Looks like everyone's occupied, by the looks of it everyone in our class is too busy trying to get what points they can to make up for 1B who has been stealing their headbands left and right. And thanks to Terra and her team we managed to get out of several tough situations.'
"Everyone don't worry, I think we're ok."
Not a moment after saying this another team skids in front of them, forcing Izuku and his team to abruptly stop.
Standing in front of Izuku was none other than Todoroki and his team with Todoroki glaring daggers at Izuku.
"And now we reach the halfway point of the game!" Present Mic announced
"I thought we had it made, I guess I was wrong." Izuku said with a serious expression
"I'll be taking that now." Todoroki said with finality in his tone.
"I didn't think this confrontation would happen until later in the contest. He seems to have it out for you, Midoriya." Tokoyami remarked.
"Now Iida! Forward!" Todoroki commanded.
"Right!" Iida replied before steam came out from his engines as he began to rush forward.
"Yaoyorozu! Be ready to protect us!"
"On it!" Yaoyorozu responded as she slid on some roller skates she made as Iida ran forward, she had begun to create something to use as a means of defense.
"Kaminari!"
"Oh I know what I gotta do." Kaminari said with a smirk.
"Watch your surroundings! It's not just todoroki! Everyone is coming for us!" Izuku shouted as several teams from both 1A and 1B closed in on them.
From above Terra's team saw this all unfold. Terra wanted to help but unfortunately for her a majority of those teams didn't have headbands apart from Todoroki's team and a handful of others.
Terra had decided to act, it may be possible to quickly snag the headband from Todoroki while he was distracted fighting Midoriya who he seemed to have it out for.
However before she could, something unexpected happened.
All of the teams were hit by a large surge of electricity by none other than Kaminari, Todoroki and his other teammates seemed to be protected by a sheet of insulation Momo created, while all the other teams were hit.
Dark shadow got in the way, taking the electricity and shielding the others from it.
The other teams cried out in pain as they were defenseless against the attack.
As soon as the electricity stopped, Todoroki froze the ground forcing all the teams that had been struck by the electricity to remain frozen.
"Would you look at that he stopped all those teams cold in their tracks!" Present Mic said as the crowd began to get excited upon seeing this.
Quickly Todoroki took the headbands of the other teams who were stuck in ice as his team gave chase after Midoriya's team.
Todoroki's team quickly gained ground on Midoriya's team before engaging them.
Izuku tried to use the jetpack only to find that it was beginning to malfunction.
"Oh no my baby! It's going to need some upgrades!" Mei shouted with her smile seeming to falter a bit.
Mei was inwardly kicking herself for this, how could she become a pro hero if she couldn't even make a simple jetpack without it malfunctioning.
"Oh no, they're too fast! We can't get away!" Uraraka said as she began to panic.
"Take care of them!" Tokoyami ordered as Dark Shadow lunged at Todoroki and his team with its claws out ready to strike.
However Momo managed to create a piece of stone out from her arm that was able to block the strike from Tokoyami's Dark Shadow.
"She's too good with her creation quirk. We have to be careful." Izuku warned.
"No, Kaminari is the real problem, if there was any more sunlight Kaminari's attack would have completely destroyed Dark shadow." Tokoyami said, making Izuku go wide eyed in shock for a moment as he began to think quickly.
"I get it, his lightning is our big problem." Izuku realized, he should have realized this sooner.
"Dark shadow is too timid now." Tokoyami said as he looked back at Dark Shadow who looked sad.
"violence solves nothing." Dark Shadow whimpered out.
After saying this they all stopped and turned seeing that they were now on the edge of the battle area.
"Team Midoriya has nowhere left to run!" Present Mic announced.
"Your attack power is low, and from the fight at the USJ they definitely have an idea that Light to some degree affects your quirk negatively." Izuku said.
"Yes, and that is going to prove to be a problem as this team has been the only one to exploit that weakness." Tokoyami commented.
"Which is why I have a plan that just might work in securing us a victory." Izuku remarked.
For the next few minutes Midoriya's team took a more defensive approach, opting to keep their distance from Todoroki, despite not being able to go too far due to the ice ring Todoroki had made which surrounded them.
Izuku had made it a point to stay on Todoroki's left side which prevented Todoroki from using his Ice as he couldn't do so without hitting Iida in the process
Izuku also made it a point to stay just outside of Kaminari's range of attack, to ensure that they didn't lose Dark Shadow to one of Kaminari's electric attacks.
While Todoroki was aware of Tokoyami's weakness to light due to the USJ attack but given that Dark Shadow seemed to repel the attack the first time around he figured electricity probably wouldn't be enough to take out Dark Shadow.
At this point the two teams were locked in a tense standoff within the confines of the Ice ring Todoroki had made.
"Only one minute left! Todoroki has cornered the ten million point team and is poised to seize the ultimate prize! At least that's what I would have said five minutes ago! Unbelievably team Midoriya has been able to keep away from the ice master for the last half of the game!" Present Mic announced.
From the section of the stands where the teachers and staff of UA were, All Might watched his pupil with a proud grin on his face.
'Your doing great young Midoriya, just a bit longer and the game is yours.' All Might thought to himself.
On another part of the stadium, Endeavor glared down at his son as he watched him.
'He's exploiting your weaknesses, you stubborn fool, if you used your fire you'd have a much better chance of success.' Endeavor thought.
"Everyone, we have less than 60 seconds, there is only one thing left for me to do, however I fear that once I do this I will be of no use to you." Iida said.
"What are you going to do?" Todoroki asked.
"Make sure we get that headband." Iida responded.
"Brace yourselves! Hold on tight!" Iida warned as the engines on his legs began to make a sound as if they were powering up.
"Recipro burst!"
"Watch the-"
Before Izuku could even finish giving out his warning Iida and Todoroki's team had already blown past them, with Izuku's headband firmly in Todoroki's grasp.
Team Todoroki skid to a halt not far away as both Momo and Kaminari's eyes were wide eyed with shock at what just happened.
"What!? What just happened!? That was one big blur! Holy smokes folks! Why didn't he show off that super speed in the preliminary?"
"Iida… what was that?" Todoroki asked, somewhat surprised by Iida's display of speed.
"Forced my torque and rpm into overdrive which gave me a boost in power, unfortunately the recoil stalls my engines for a while, it's a secret move I've been saving, no one in the class knew about it." Iida said in response.
Izuku and the others on his team stared at Iida with looks of total shock and disbelief.
"I told you Midoryia, that I'd do my best to beat you." Iida said, turning his head toward Izuku.
"Insanity! This entire game was just turned completely on its head! Todoroki's team has the ten million points and Midoriya's team is suddenly left with nothing at all!" Present Mic said as the crowd was roaring with excitement.
"Don't let them go!" Midoriya exclaimed.
"Kaminari's still a problem for us! It will be smarter for us to try for other points now." Tokoyami argued.
"We can't! We don't have enough time and we don't know who's got the other headbands! This is our only chance!"
"Then let's go!" Uraraka said with a determined look. "We'll get the points back deku! I know it!"
Izuku began to charge up one for all in his arm as they charged Towards Todoroki's team.
He knew he had others by his side, people who were counting on him to get them through this, he couldn't afford to let them down.
Without even realizing it, fire burst from Todoroki's left side as he prepared to defend against Midoriya.
"Second place, we did pretty good. Now we can just let the clock run out." Monoma said as he stared at the leaderboard for a moment.
"You…" Bakugo growled out.
"Oh? Come back for more I see, you guys just never learn do y-"
When Monoma and his other Teammates turned around they were greeted by Bakugo who had been shooting toward them and was already within point blank range, his palms already glowing. Monoma's eyes widened in shock but he nor his teammates were capable of acting fast enough.
"DIE!" Bakugo roared as he opened his palm and a giant explosion engulfed Monoma and his entire team.
There was a large cloud of smoke before Bakugo emerged with the remaining headbands in his grasp as Sero used his tape to grab him and pull him back to the rest of the team.
"Good work Bakugo! That was awesome man!" Kirishima complemented.
"Yeah you showed those jerks whose boss!" Mina added.
"We have bigger fish to fry now! We're going after Deku and Todoroki!"
'This will be fine. I'm not actually hitting him with one for all, I just need to slice through the air to get through Todoroki's defenses.' Izuku thought quickly as he and his team charged towards Todoroki's team which was unable to move due to Iida's engines being momentarily stalled.
In an instant Izuku swiped his hand above Todoroki's right arm, dispersing the flames before they managed to grow too big.
Todoroki for his part was clearly caught off guard by this, but what seemed to be really disturbing him is the fact that he had used his left side.
Both Teams were too distracted to notice the mass of dirt and rock hovering above them.
Following the swipe of his hand with Todoroki's defenses down Midoriya managed to grab the top headband and yank it from his neck before he and his other teammates ran past Todoroki's team and skid to a stop.
"I got it!" Izuku shouted.
"Oh no, please tell me there's something wrong with my eyes." Mei Said with concern in her voice.
Izuku looked at the headband he held only for his face to turn into one of dread and disbelief.
On the headband Izuku had stolen was the number 70.
"He tricked us." Izuku muttered out
"We mixed the headbands up, there's no way we'd leave the prize on top-"
In an instant the headbands around Todoroki's neck were ripped off.
Momo's eyes widened in shock seeing what had happened.
The headbands were yanked off by a horn of Pony Tsunotori.
Acting quickly, Momo attempted to grab the headbands before they could fly off.
While unsuccessful in grabbing onto the headbands she did manage to swat the horn which spiraled out of control and flung the headbands into the air.
"Uh oh." Was all Pony could mutter as Terra, Shoji, and Tsuyu watched as the headbands were flung from the horn.
Everyone's eyes widened as they watched all the headbands fly through the air with less than 10 seconds left.
Todoroki had snapped out of his brief moment of shock at what he had done, seeing that the headbands he had collected were now floating through the air.
He had worked too hard to lose them now, he needed to get them back.
Unfortunately for Todoroki everyone else had seen it as well.
"Tokoyami!" Izuku shouted as they quickly moved to catch the Headbands.
"Deku!" Bakugo shouted as he blasted towards them, seeing the headbands in the air and making a break for it to grab the headbands, he had assumed one of them had to be the 10 million point headband.
Due to Iida not being able to move Todoroki and his team were essentially sitting ducks.
"Oh crap!" Kaminari said as he watched Bakugo and Izuku's team converge on the headbands.
Izuku managed to grab a headband while Bakugo grabbed another as Momo caught the third which fortunately had come back toward them.
"TIMES UP!" Present Mic announced as Bakugo landed on his feet grasping a headband.
Izuku looked at the headband hoping for it to be the 10 million point headband.
Bakugo looked at the headband he had caught hoping to see the big 10 million he had sought after.
Izuku seemed to be a bit disappointed though contempt with it as the headband he caught was enough to secure him and his team a victory and they could advance into the next round.
Bakugo on the other hand scowled as the headband he had was not the 10 million points, while he would still have enough to advance it still wouldn't be number one, and that pissed him off to no end.
Momo looked at the headband she caught and had a disappointed look, she did not have the ten million points, however it seemed like it would be enough to get the win.
Todoroki however did not feel this way, he similar to Bakugo was frustrated that he did not get the 10 million points, and more than that he was frustrated that he had used his left side.
"Wait did we win? Did we get the 10 million back? I don't see Bakugo or Midoriya with it." Kaminari asked as he looked at Momo.
"No we didn't, we should have enough to pass but we didn't get the 10 million back."
"Wait so if we don't have it then who does?" Kaminari asked.
"Now let's have a look at who our top five teams are!" Present Mic commented. "In first place is none other than Team Markov!"
"WOOOOOO!" Terra couldn't contain her excitement as she held up the 10 million point headband as her and Pony were seeming to celebrate their victory while Shoji and Tsuyu appeared to be more stoic.
"But how?" Iida couldn't help but ask in disbelief that they got the 10 million point headband.
It was then that Pony answered his question. "I had shot two horns, when the first one was hit by Momo the second one came and swooped up the 10 million point headband for us."
Bakugo looked at Terra and her other teammates before he grit his teeth and clenched his fist, he would destroy Goldilocks for this, that 10 million was supposed to be his and she and her team robbed him of it.
Izuku was actually surprised and somewhat caught of guard that Terra Had taken the 10 million points, he was happy for her of course but it seemed like Terra had been looking out for him throughout the sports festival.
"It was a good strategy you employed Terra." Asui complemented.
"Couldn't have done it without you guys, we all earned this victory." Terra said with a big proud grin on her face.
"And second place goes to team Bakugo." Present Mic announced.
"Aw man we were so close to first place." Mina said.
"Yeah sure but we're moving on so that's all that matters." Sero remarked casually as he shrugged.
"I think our leader would strongly disagree." Kirishima commented, looking at Bakugo he was screaming and filled with rage.
"He's pretty strong but man does that guy have some serious issues." Mina muttered as she stared at Bakugo.
"And in third place is team Midoriya!" Present Mic said.
"We did it Deku! We actually managed to advance to the next round!" Uraraka said as she smiled.
Mei took the Jetpack off from Izuku's back and began to work on it immediately, she was kicking herself for not making sure the Jet pack wouldn't malfunction, had it not done so they would most likely wouldn't have lost the 10 million points, her failures almost cost them the game, and her chance at joining the hero course.
Izuku looked relieved that they managed to win the game, though he knew deep down that they had gotten lucky, had it not been for Terra's team and their interference it's very likely Midoriya and his teammates would have suffered a defeat.
"Thank you guys, I'm glad we were able to pull this off." He said before giving them a light smile.
Uraraka smiled back while Tokoyami just gave a nod of approval.
"In 4th place is team Shinso."
Terra looked over at team Shinso, she remembered the boy as the one who declared war on class 1A during her first day at school. It seems he had actually come pretty far.
However, something bothered her, why did his teammates look so lost and confused? Almost like they didn't know what had happened or even where they were at.
Terra made a mental note to keep an eye on him, a combination of her shadows training and general common sense told her something about him wasn't right.
"And in 5th place is Team Todoroki!" Present Mic said.
Iida clenched his fist, he felt that his actions let everyone down, he was unable to move due to that stunt he had pulled, and they had just barely made it as a result.
"I'm sorry everyone, I let all of you down, because of me we ended up losing nearly all our headbands and it almost cost us this game." Iida commented as he looked down.
"You have no reason to apologize Iida, you made the right call, we simply couldn't have foreseen that attack from Terra's team." Momo said in an attempt to reassure Iida that this was not his fault.
Todoroki just looked at his left hand before clenching his fist.
'I swore I'd never use my fire, but the second I was overwhelmed I broke that promise. I can't let this happen again, I can't let him win and become who he wants me to be.' Todoroki thought to himself.
Endeavor wore a scowl on his face as he looked down on his son in disappointment, he almost lost due to his own failure and won purely based on luck. The only thing that made it slightly better was that the boy seemed to finally understand he could not go without using his flames.
"Now let's take an hour lunch break before we begin the afternoon festivities! See you soon!" Present Mic said over the Mic as people were leaving their seats to go and get snacks or use the restroom.
Author's note: Man, this chapter was long, longer than I originally anticipated, took me a little over a month to finish it.
Nonetheless I'm happy to finally get it out, I hope you guys enjoyed some of the reveals such as Mei wanting to join the Hero course, that was a last minute decision on my part, yet again it's not like this story is fully planned out, I have a general idea of what I want to do and where the story will go but there is still a large number of holes to fill, that's why I ask for suggestions from you guys.
Speaking of which, I just have to say man some of you guys are creative, a lot of you gave some good ideas in the comments and DMs which I really appreciate, and I will respond to the comments from the last chapter in a moment but before that I just have to say.
Man… that ending was shit. We still have so many unanswered questions like who or where the fuck is Izuku's father, we also didn't get to see anything happen between him and Uraraka despite it being hinted at and built up during the entirety of the shows run, and on top of that his friends literally ghost him for eight years. Apart from the 1A students, All Might, and a few others we don't get to see how anyone else in the future looks like.
We could have gotten so much better in opinion, the memes about this ending are warranted. Izuku pretty much peaked in high school. This is arguably the worst ending in Shonen. And yeah, sure he got the suit of armor, but it still doesn't make up for it in my opinion.
Anyway, onto the reviews.
Monster King: thank you, I fully intend to keep working on this story even if my updates are slow at times
Myzor king of war: I guess you could say she sorta helped by keeping the other teams off his back even if she got the ten million points in the end. And don't worry I have a special Villain in Mind for Mt Lady, Kamui and Death Arms will probably get their own as well.
Sly22red: to be honest I doubt there will be an attack on the sports festival unless its last minute, however the villains are watching in order to gather more data on the heroes in training, however, don't count on every event class 1A partakes in to go uninterrupted.
Halo-Guy Fan: thank you, a lot of these questions I cannot answer at the moment but what I can tell you is that I have plans for the Meta Liberation Army as well as Madame Rouge, the MLA will especially play a large role in this story that you guys will see in the chapters to come, and as for your Idea involving black Manta it has given me a great idea for not just him but the entire Suicide Squad, originally the Suicide Squad wasn't going to have any significant role in this story but now they will play an important role though that is all I will say for now as I don't want to spoil anything.
Maximum Rhapsody: as of now I have no plans on directly having the villains attack the sports festival, however the villains are using this as an opportunity to gather data on the students and the Hive students are watching the sports festival. And as for other heroes don't worry, they will show up soon and all of them will have a role to play.
Jhoy: you will have to wait and see for Terra as I don't wish to reveal my plans with her at the moment, as for that other statement you aren't exactly wrong, however the MHA heroes aren't completely weak and defenseless themselves, there will be times where the DC villains simply get bad matchups when it comes to the heroes.
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter; I can't wait to show you guys the next one because boy oh boy will it be something special in more ways than one.
