So, for lack of imagination, some of you may spot characters from other tv shows littered through this. Just to add some mystery and break away from the normal..

One of these characters, was in the last chapter and some of you may know from the description, I was aiming for one, Addison Montgomery of Greys Anatomy/Private Practice.

I obviously don't own any of these characters but they may appear from various shows I've watched over the years and could be copies of them or even linked to them somehow..

I honestly have no idea where this story is going, my brain is just going one chapter at a time so if it starts making no sense, tell me.. Other than that, I hope you are all enjoying so far :)

Chapter 13

Later that day, Clarke and Lexa were sat at a small coffee shop, just chatting. They'd just finished arranging a time for the delivery guys to drop Lexas new bed of at the house the following day. The conversation was flowing, discussing what else Lexa needed to get today, as they watched people pass by.

"Thank you. For today Clarke." Lexa spoke as she looked down at the remnants of coffee between her hands.

"I'm not really sure why you're thanking me, but you're welcome Lex." Clarke replied, slightly confused.

"For being you? Being a friend. I don't really have a lot. Especially here, being so new and everything." Lexa confessed.

"Hey.." Clarke reached towards Lexas hand, softly letting her fingertips ghost the other womans, catching her attention, she put a small smile on her face before continuing, "You don't need to thank me for that. You're kinda pretty amazing." She finished with a wink, making the brunette look back to her coffee with a slight blush colouring her cheeks.

"Well I think you're.."

BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ

Lexa phones starts moving across the table. Lexa grabbing it. Upon seeing who was calling, her facial features instantly harden and she excuses herself.

"Sorry, I really have to take this." Lexa says retreating and answering the call.

Clarke can see Lexa just down the street, her body tense as she has a somewhat, heated, looking conversation with the person on the other end of the line. Clarke watches closely, trying to gauge Lexas reactions to the other person. She doesn't seem... anything. Just tense. Seeing her shoulders slump, she wonders what the mystery call could be about. But decides that if Lexa wants to tell her, she will.

Lexa is pacing. Her mind racing as she resigns to the fact she has to deal with this. She doesn't want to, she wanted out of this. But she's the best and she was requested personally. Her shoulders slump and her eyes flick up. They are instantly met with Clarkes ocean blues and something it Lexa relaxes. She doesn't know what it is about her new friends or why but she feels she can trust her. She soon finishes up her phone call and makes her way back to Clarke and her, now cold, coffee.

"Hey.. Sorry about that. And I'm also sorry about this but I actually have to call Indra quickly." Lexa apologises to Clarke. Who just smiles, politely, and gestures that it's okay. Lexa pulls her phone up and sets to call Indra.

"Hello... Yes... I mean no... I need a couple days... Yes, like we discussed before... Umm.." Lexa looks to Clarke, and smiles. "Um..no, I...uh, I can't right now... Yes, I am... No..uh not yet." A small blush creep sup on Lexas face and she finishes out her call. "Thank you Indra and I'll talk to you soon." Lexa hangs up, letting out a breath she didn't realise she was holding.

"Is.. Is everything okay Lexa?" Clarke lets out, worry evident in her face and voice.

"Oh, yeah.. Everything's fine. Why?" Lexa asks, almost forgetting her phone conversations.

"It's just you just asked for time off when you've only been working with us for such a short time. I just wanted to make sure you were okay." Clarke lets out, her brow furrowing.

"Oh.." Lexa almost moans. "I'm sorry. Just some previous work I have to deal with. Everything's fine and I'll be back before you know it. But in saying that, I actually have to go. I know we had plans for the rest of today and I don't want to put that all on you or anything but do you think you could, maybe, be at the house tomorrow for the delivery?" Lexa questions already stripping the spare key from her keychain and sliding across to Clarke. "I promise I'll make it up to you when I get back." Lexa smiles, a hint of flirtation behind her comment.

"Oh you bet you are!" Clarkes winks back, making Lexa blush. She soon on her feet, apologising again about having to dip out on their plans. She throws some money down on the table and tells Clarke she'll see her soon and before Clarke knows it, Lexa is gone.

The following day soon arrives and Clarkes alarm is blaring at her through her apartment.

She's pulled from her sleep induced haze as the smell of coffee percolates the room. Groaning in protest of movement, Clarke soon stumbles her way to the kitchen, pouring herself a cup of the freshly brewed dark liquid. She soon finds enough motivation to get started on some breakfast sausage and pancakes for herself.

Once Clarke is ready for the day, having cleaned up from breakfast, showered and got ready. She's soon in her car and driving towards Lexas new house, ready to meet the delivery guys with Lexas bed. She wonders what she should do with the rest of her day. She thinks about doing some shopping of her own or even some of the essentials her and Lexa had discussed yesterday but decided a gym day was in need. It had been a while since Clarke had been and she could do with a work out.

She shoots both Octavia and Raven messages inviting them along, knowing they'd want to join her as they used to.

The day soon comes to a close, all three girls getting a good work out in, discussing and giggling about various things before bidding each other goodbye. Saying they'll see each other in the morning at work.

Before Clarke knows it she's strolling into work the following day. Wondering if Lexa is back yet.

"Clarke!" Clarke is soon pulled from her thoughts and breakfast by the Chief. "My office, say 15 minutes?"

"Yes Chief." Clarkes responds, unsure why she's being called to the Chiefs office so early in the day. Had she done something wrong last shift? Pissed the wrong person off? Her mind was wondering a mile a minute as she devoured the remains of her breakfast. Catching the questioning glances of her partner Raven and shrugging them off. She had no idea what the Chief wanted. Clarke soon made her way to the office, a sense of fear flooding her body at what was sure to be a reprimand for something.

Knock knock

"Come in, Clarke. Please" Chief Indra says, small smile on her face, as she gestures to the chair in front of her desk. Okay, so she's not angry, that good, right? Clarke thinks to herself.

"So, Lt. Woods had this dropped off at mine late yesterday." Indra starts, pushing a white envelope across her desk towards Clarke. Clarke just sits there, afraid to reach for it. "It's for you." The Chief states. "You can take it." Clarke reaches for it, a fingers finding the edge of the envelope. As she's about to pick it up, Indra starts talking again. "It came with a note for myself." Indra says, eyes never leaving her paperwork in front of her. "It's from Lexa." She looks towards Clarke finally. "Strict instructions. Give this to Clarke. Tell her. If she wants to, she knows what to do." Indra finishes with a shrug. Clarke fingers now fully encasing the offending item. Without think, Clarke opens it up. Staring down into the envelope at the sole item.

"It's her credit card." Clarke blurts out. Not thinking. This catches the Chiefs attention.

"Care to explain?" The Chief all but demands. Her protective instincts over the young brunette kicking in, full force. Clarke swallows, her fear returning as she meets her Chiefs, stern but steady gaze. Before Clarke could stop herself, verbal diarrhoea set it and she was telling the Chief everything. From Lexa buying a house to their plans for buying the basics for Lexa to move in, up until Lexa got the call while the having coffee. "Well she must trust you." Indra added, a small knowing smirk, barely gracing her features, after Clarkes words die out.

Sooo.. What do we think Lexa's call was about? What's she 'hiding' in her past?
