Two hours later he was done.
"There." Sonic said smiling and nodded.
"I'll give them to the teachers tomorrow." Tails said.
"Thanks buddy."
Then Tails put them in his backpack.
"So, you wanna go outside? You're going to be in a wheelchair for your ankle and weakness but they said you could go outside for a while." Sally said.
Sonic smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, I told them I'd hang out with them a little."
They nodded and Knuckles and Silver helped him onto the wheelchair.
"All set. Let's go!" Knuckles said and pushed him.
While they headed outside staff looked at them.
When they got outside they saw the kids running around, playing a game and having fun.
Sonic smiled.
Then someone saw them and smiled widely.
"SONIC!" he said and they all smiled while Knuckles brought him to them.
"Hey guys. Having fun?" Sonic asked smiling.
"Yup!" they said.
"Good. I can't really play with you but I can still hang out here."
"Can you play catch?" Andy asked.
"I only have one of my hands able to work right now."
They frowned but nodded.
"If I could I would."
While they were outside Sonic smiled seeing they were fine. He was still worried about the foster parents though.
Later that night he was back in bed saying good bye to them.
"By guys, see you tomorrow." he said.
"Bye." they said and left.
Shadow stood there quietly and looked at him.
"What?" Sonic asked.
"Nothing. Night." Shadow said. "CHAOS CONTROL!" he said and was gone.
Sonic shook his head, laid down and thought.
"What am I gonna do? Go back to the orphanage or give Shadow a second chance?"
Then he sighed and started to dose off.
The next day Sonic was meeting the foster parents and still in the wheelchair.
His grades had gone up after being able to do his homework and with his friends help.
They were sitting in the living room and the kids were with Sonic.
"So, you're with Sarah?" Sonic said and looked at the foster parents.
"Yes." the mother said.
Sonic nodded.
"So, she's only four years old, afraid of the dark, allergic to peanuts, her favorite food is gram crackers, her nap time is 1:30 and will usually get up at three and her favorite color is red." he said shocking them while the kids nodded.
"Alright." the father said and Sonic handed him the paper of notes to remember.
"If you don't mind me asking, how do you know that?" the mother asked.
"I'm fifteen and pretty much the one raising them. They call me their guardian. So I know what to do with them. My cell phone number is on the paper to."
They nodded and Sarah gave him a hug.
"Come and visit me and when we get back to the orphanage still protect us?" she said with tears coming down a little.
He smiled.
"Of course I will. My brother is offering to get custody of me though. But I'm waiting until we get back to the orphanage to meet the caretaker and see if I trust and forgive Shadow. I'm staying here with Sally though OK?"
She nodded and started crying and held him close.
"Don't worry, everything will be fine."
She nodded and then he gave her a hug and kiss on the forehead.
"I'm giving them my phone number so you can call me after school or if they need help."
She nodded and then went to the foster parents.
Next was Jessica and like Sarah he told them about her and gave them his number.
Every person was shocked at how he knew so much about them.
When he was done he went to his room.
Sally knocked on the door.
"Sonic?" she said.
"Yeah?" he said.
"Can I come in?"
"Sure."
So she opened the door and sat next to him.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"I'm just worried about this." he said.
"They'll be fine. Daddy found great foster parents and you helped them know how to take care of them. You gave them your number so they can call you if they need help or the kids want to talk to you."
He sighed and nodded then looked at her smiling.
"Thanks for all the help you've been giving me."
She smiled.
"You're welcome."
Then they looked at each other, got closer and kissed.
A few seconds later they were done and a little red.
"Sorry." Sonic said.
"No problem. Actually I have something to tell you." Sally said.
"What is it?"
"I love you."
"I love you to."
They smiled and kissed each other again.
"This make us a couple?" she asked.
"I guess it does." he said smiling and she smiled back.
Then there was a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Sonic asked.
"It's us." Tails said.
"Come on in guys."
Then the door opened and they saw Sonic and Sally.
"Hey guys." he said.
"What's up?" Knuckles asked.
"Not much but we, um have something to tell you." Sally said.
"What is it?" Tails asked.
"Me and Sally are dating now." Sonic said.
They stood there in shock.
"WHAT?!" Amy said.
"Amy-"
"I thought you loved me!"
"As a sister yes but nothing else."
Then she got her hammer and aimed it at him but he used the strength he's been hiding for more protection of the kids and grabbed it before she got him.
Shadow smirked at that and nodded.
"How?" Amy said.
"Like Shadow said, I'm stronger than him and hid a lot of it. Now like I said, I love you as a sister and that's it."
She nodded.
"Don't worry Amy, I'm sure you'll find someone." Sally said.
She nodded again.
"Here's the next homework and what you got on the last ones." Tails said and handed him the papers.
"Thanks buddy." Sonic said and looked at them then smiled.
"What'd you get?" Silver asked.
"B- on everything!"
"Awesome!" they said and the boys gave him a high five.
"Finally!"
"So, any idea when you can come back to school?" Knuckles asked.
"I should be good next week. I've gained enough weight and my wrist should be all set."
They smiled.
"Good. They all miss you." Blaze said.
"And I threatened Rouge saying if she bullies you she's dead." Shadow said.
Sonic just looked at him and nodded.
"When you get to school we're looking after you." Knuckles said.
Sonic smiled and nodded.
"OK."
A few hours later Sonic was in bed asleep.
