Everyone ran over to him and Shadow bent down to look for a pulse then sighed.

"He has a pulse, really weak but still does." he said and they all sighed.

Then he picked him up gently.

"I'll take him to the hospital." he said and they nodded so he took out his fake Chaos Emerald. "I'll call you when he's all set. CHAOS CONTROL!" he said and was gone.

Everyone stood there quietly and kids were crying hard.

"I hope he sees a therapist after this if he survives." Knuckles said shaking his head and the others nodded.

"Yeah." they said.

"Maybe he should let Shadow take him in." Tails said.

They all knew he didn't trust him but at the same time knew he was going to have nightmares after what just happened if he survives this.

Meanwhile Shadow was pacing in the waiting room while Sonic got cleaned up.

Half an hour later he and the others were in the waiting room with Shadow still pacing.

A few minutes later someone came.

"Shadow the Hedgehog?" the doctor said and he stopped.

"Yes?" Shadow said.

"You're Sonic's brother right?"

"Yes." he said nodding. "How is he?"

"Not so good. He's lost a lot of blood, bruises, cuts, broken right arm, used a lot of energy and a concussion."

They stood or sat there quietly.

"Can we see him? We're his friends." Tails said.

"Yes." the doctor said and then they headed to his room.

When they got there they stood there in shock.

Shadow quietly went and sat down then took his hand.

"Look what I've done to you." he said shaking his head. "I left you and now look at you." he said and started crying quietly. "When I could talk I said I'd look after and protect you. But I left you instead."

Then he sat there with his eyes shut and saw the days they lost their parents.

He was playing catch with Sonic and their mother was in the garden smiling.

He laughed smiling and tossed it to him.

Sonic jumped and tried to catch it but it was to high so he turned around to go get it from the street.

"Sonic no!" their mother said and he stopped so she went to get it.

Suddenly a truck came and before it could stop it hit her.

"MOMMY!" they yelled together and Sonic started to run but he Chaos Controlled in front of him and stopped.

"No! You go get daddy and I'll check on her!" he said and turned him around.

Sonic ran into the house and he ran to her and the driver.

A few seconds later their dad and Sonic came running to them.

He backed up and held Sonic close while their dad called an ambulance.

An hour later they were talking to a doctor.

"I'm sorry. We did the best we could but she was already to weak from blood loss." the doctor said.

He stood there holding Sonic while he cried.

Half an hour later they were home and he was in his room reading while Sonic stood there trying to catch his attention.

"Shadow?" Sonic said but he didn't answer. "Shadow?" Sonic said but he held his book closer. "Shadow?"

"WHAT?!" he finally yelled getting Sonic to back up a little.

"A-are you OK?"

"Am I OK? AM I OK?!" he yelled, put his book down and stood up. "NO I'M NOT OK! WE JUST LOST HER AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!" he yelled. "IF YOU HAD CAUGHT IT WE WOULDN'T'VE LOST HER!" he said and Sonic stood there with tears coming down. "I HATE YOU! I WISH YOU WERE NEVER BORN!" he yelled and raised his hand. "CHAOS SPEAR!" he yelled and got him hard.

Sonic looked at him with this eyes watering and lips trembling.

Then while he stood there angry Sonic got up and started running crying.

He stood there thinking about running after him but shook his head and got back to his book.

By the end of the week he had acted as if Sonic wasn't his brother.

Their dad wasn't happy but he didn't care.

Then he saw the day they lost their dad.

It had been seven months since they lost their mom and he was still ignoring Sonic.

Sonic had been bullied and his friends left him after everyone found out they lost her.

He didn't care.

He would always say he deserves it.

They were in the car on the way to the grocery store and he had asked their dad to help him open something since it was a red light.

Their dad was in the middle of opening it and didn't see the light was green.

Suddenly a car came driving fast and crashed into them.

Then he saw a bleeding and out of it dad and an out of it Sonic.

All he had was a few cuts so used his healing to himself then grabbed their dad's phone and called an ambulance.

Half an hour later they were in the hospital and Sonic was awake again with him sitting there across from him and their dad next to Sonic.

"Shadow?" Sonic said but he ignored him.

Then a doctor came.

"I can see one of you is awake." the doctor said and Sonic nodded.

"Never mind him, what about dad?" Shadow said and saw tears wanting to come out of Sonic's eyes.

"We've done everything we can but he didn't make it."

Sonic started crying while he stood there quietly thinking.

"OK. Can we go?"

"Yes."

He nodded then grabbed Sonic and Chaos Controlled them home.

"What are we gonna do now?" Sonic asked.

He turned and looked at him.

"CHAOS BLAST!" he yelled and got Sonic harder than ever. "You are going to an orphanage and I'm living by myself!" he said and pushed him. "Go pack!"

Sonic burst into tears and ran to his room while he started writing a note.

Dear caretaker,

I'm leaving you my brother after losing our parents. When I get a phone I'll call you and then keep me posted on how he's doing. He's really fast, strong and his Chaos Control, Chaos Spear and Chaos Blast like me. He's just starting learning how to use it so be careful. He's at least twice as strong as me. That's about it. Enjoy.

He read it and nodded.

A few minutes later he was holding onto Sonic.

"Let's go." he said. "CHAOS CONTROL!" he said and they were gone.

Then he saw the day he left him in at the orphanage.

A few seconds later they were right outside Wood Orphanage and he tossed Sonic his bag and the letter then knocked on the door.

He looked at Sonic for a second and saw Sonic quietly crying and looking at him.

"Have fun." he said and Chaos Controlled home to have a life of his own.

Then he opened his eyes and they were watering with tears coming down realizing it was never Sonic's fault.

It was his.

"It's my fault." he said. "Both of them. I threw it to high and asked dad to help me open something while there was a red light." he said confusing everyone.

"Huh?" they said.

Shadow looked at him, grabbed a Chaos Emerald and put it on Sonic for a second to focus on Sonic's past.

"CHAOS CONTROL!" he said.

Sonic watched Shadow leave him and burst into tears.

Then the door opened.

"Yes?" the caretaker said and saw him. "Huh? Where did you come from?"

He handed her the letter and she read it looking shocked.

"Well, let's go take you to a room." she said and he nodded.

After getting to a room she left and he unpacked then started crying.

"You promised to never leave me and protect me!" he said.

Ten minutes later the caretaker came back and slammed his door shut.

"Shut up kid!" she said and he looked at her in shock.

Then she slapped him hard.

"I heard you can do things rare." she said and he nodded. "Well learn how to control them!"

He nodded and she left.

He stood there quietly and shook his head.

"I'm never using them again." he said and took off his limiters then his gloves. Then he put his limiters on and then his gloves and hid them. "No one will ever know I have them."

Then he saw a few months later.

"Leave him alone!" he said. "If you want to hurt someone just do it to me. I'm older than him!"

"Fine." the caretaker said, slapped him while he stood in front of the two year old and he winced. "From now on you'll get what they deserve."

He looked at her.

"If that's what it takes to keep them safe from you I'll do it!"

Three years later he was at one of the kids room holding them close. The others were there to.

"Why are you doing this for us?" the one he's holding asked.

"I'm not giving you a repeat of what my brother did to me a few years ago." he said. "I promise until the day I turn eighteen I won't leave you. When people come to adopt you for now I'll hide. When I get to around eighth grade people stop adopting easier so I'll stop hiding."

They were shocked.

"Why? You deserve a family after what you do for us. You've been here for a long time." a girl said.

"Like I said, my brother left me so I'm not leaving you."

They all gave him a group hug.

"We wanna call you our guardian after taking care of us. Even giving us some of your food." an older boy said.

He smiled.

"OK. Come to me if you were to get hurt, have a nightmare and or a thunderstorm. I know Tony and Alexandra are scared of them. When I wake up to one I get up and look around at you all." he said smiling. "I know what you like, are scared of and allergic to."

They smiled.

Two years later Sonic was being punched and bleeding.

"Sonic!" a girl said her eyes watering.

"It's OK Sally." he said and winced rubbing his broken wrist.

Then he was cut by a knife.

He shut his eyes tight.

Then the caretaker left.

Sally and a few others ran over to him and helped him up.

"You alright Sal?" he asked and she nodded.

"Are you OK?" another girl asked.

"I'm fine Anna."

They helped him walk to a chair and he sat down then held Sally tight telling her he'll be fine.

A year later Sonic was in a doctor appointment by himself.

"It appears that you have anxiety." the doctor said and they nodded.

So he wrote him a prescription.

"Thank you." he said.

"Take it everyday."

He nodded.

"I'll keep some in school in case I forget."

The doctor smiled and nodded.

Then he got up, hid his prescription in his fur then went to the pharmacy and got that all set.

"I can't let them know. I'll keep it in school then take it when I get to school." he said.

Two years later.

"Sonic? Is something wrong?" Knuckles asked watching him wince.

"I'm good. I just, um, slept on my shoulder funny last night." he said and they nodded.

Later after school he was giving Tom some of his dinner.

"But-" Tom started.

"Don't worry. I'll have something at school tomorrow." he said and Tom nodded.

Later he had just been hurt after not finishing his chores.

He was trying to do his homework when thunder went off and there was a knock on the door.

He got up and knew who it was.

He opened the door and smiled.

"Come on." he said and they went onto his bed. "It'll be fine. I'm right here."

One of them saw how tired he looked at saw he was doing homework.

She opened her mouth but he held up his hand.

"Don't worry about it. I have study tomorrow morning. And besides, I promised to look after you guys." he said smiling.

Then there was another rumble and they held onto him then started to cry.

"Shhhh, it's gonna be fine. I'm right here."

An hour later he was carrying a sleeping girl in one arm and another in his other arm.

He looked back and forth but saw nothing.

"Chaos Control." he whispered and was in one of the rooms.

He slowly put one of them down and tucked them in then gave her a kiss.

"Good night Natasha." he said and Chaos Controlled to the others. "Good night Amy." he whispered and gave her a kiss.

Then he sighed, Chaos Controlled to his room and sat down to finish his homework.

A year later he was in front of all of them.

Then he was hit in the shoulder by a gun.

"Ah!" he yelled and fell to the ground holding his shoulder.

"You deserve it." the caretaker said.

Sonic looked at her and got up.

"You said you wouldn't touch any of them." he said.

"He broke my picture!"

"I don't care! If you waited until I got back from school you could've done it to me!"

Then she punched him again.

"Shut up you freak!"

Sonic twitched a little after being called that by Shadow this morning.

Then he came back and was slapped.

"Remember, don't heal yourself. You can heal the kid but not you." she said and left.

He looked at them and took out a Chaos Emerald.

"Come here Tasha." he said and she jumped onto him and cried. "I'm right here. Now give me your arm and I'll heal it." he said and she did as told.

Then he healed her.

"There. All better?"

She nodded and gave him a hug.

"Thank you." she said.

"It's my job." he said and winced.

"We're sorry." someone said.

"It's not your fault guys, you know that." he said and winced again. "Now scoot! I have some homework to do."

They nodded and went to do their own thing.

He went to his room and instead of doing his homework he had a strong anxiety attack.

Finally he was at the present.

"I should've done this years ago." the caretaker said and started to undress.

He gulped a little.

Then he was undressed and rapped.

An hour later he was gone and she was smirking.

A few days before the accident in school.

It was night and he was being starved.

Then there was a knock on the door and he slowly and painfully got up then opened the door to see the kids.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

Then one of them handed him a card, another a cupcake and another a present.

"What's all this for?" he asked and they went inside.

"A thank you." an older boy said.

"We saved our money and got a cupcake and a present. Tasha made the card."

He smiled and gave them a hug.

"Thanks guys. You didn't have to do it."

They smiled.

"We wanted to after what you've been doing for us for years." Tom said.

Then he took a bite of the cupcake and opened the present to see a book he had been wanting for but hadn't been given any money.

He smiled and gave them all a hug.

"Thank you." he said.

"We know you've wanted it for weeks and had saved enough for it and the cupcake." a five year old said smiling.

When he was done with that one Shadow stood there in horror.

"What?" Knuckles asked.

"He was abused so hard." Shadow said shaking his head with tears going down. "He, he was even raped." he said and they all gasped in horror.

Then Tails started crying so Knuckles held him close.

They looked at Sonic quietly.

'I don't deserve to be a brother.' Shadow thought.

A few hours later they were still there when they heard someone groan.

They looked at Sonic and saw him start opening his eyes.

"Sonic?" Shadow said gently and Sonic looked at him. "You OK?"

Sonic nodded.

"You saw my memories." he whispered.

Shadow nodded.

"I realized it wasn't your fault we lost them at all. It was both mine. I threw the ball to high and it went in the street. Then we were at a red light and I asked dad to open it. Then it turned green and a car came crashing into us." he said with tears going down. "And when I saw what she did to you the day I left you to earlier this year." he said and looked at him. "I'm so sorry." he said shaking his head.

Sonic looked at him and then shut his eyes and started crying.

Shadow suddenly got into big brother mode and gently held him close.

"Shhh, it's OK. I'm right here." he said and kissed his head.

"Don't leave me again. I want you to take me in!" Sonic said and cried harder.

Shadow and the others were shocked but at the same time after finding out what happened aren't.

"OK. I'll take you in when you get out of here. If you want I can go tell them and get your things later and bring them home."

Sonic shook his head.

"I have to say goodbye to them." he said.

"OK, do you want me to go with you?"

Sonic nodded.

"Do you want the rest of us to?" Tails asked.

Sonic looked at him and then Knuckles.

"Tails and Knuckles." he said and they nodded.

"OK." Knuckles said.

Then Tails flew and went to get a doctor.

"I still can't believe he can fly with just his tails." Shadow said shaking his head still holding Sonic.

A few minutes later Tails and a doctor came in and looked at Sonic.

"Is anyone here family?" he asked.

"Me. I'm his brother. We lost our parents when we were little." Shadow said.

"OK, you can take him home next week. I suggest seeing a psychologist and a psychiatrist."

Shadow nodded.

"Don't worry, I'm taking him to one whether he wants to or not." he said.

The doctor smiled and nodded.

"Alright." he said and left.

Shadow looked at Sonic and saw he was dozing off.

"Get some rest and we'll come see you tomorrow." he said and Sonic nodded then fell asleep.

After that they split up.
