Lady and Gentlemen, welcome to the stage! The Best of all the Jesters, and the Wonderful Joker Parade! Thank you, thank you, you're too kind.

Surprise? Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, we have an actual chapter for The Invincible Girl: Arkham Asylum. It has been far too long since I updated this and I won't bore you with excuses. Work, life, and every other thing besides me dying has been happening but I am happy how this turned out. So how did I get the spark again? Actually, over a year ago with a YouTube video. And no that is not a joke.

The channel ClownPuncher139 has many videos mostly centered around his favorite game, the Batman Arkham series. He does video essays, game mode challenges, and even points out what people get wrong with 'Every wrong with insert game here' for the Arkham series and even his own 'Everything wrong with'. You actually got to admire his passion. Anyway one of his videos talks about something for Arkham Knight and it actually got me thinking of how I can do that game for the series. I will admit I was stumped on how to make Arkham Knight interesting and this video gave me an idea. An idea that is almost evil. But…in order to get to Knight I need to get through Asylum and City. So with the spark lite, I got to work when I was able.

And now here we are, after far too long, the newest chapter. We leave the Intensive Treatment building and onto the island itself. Will it go smooth sailing for our duo or will they find trouble? Are you even reading this message or just going into the action? Not that I blame you.

Also, shout out to Sai Kunai Blade for the challenge and for everyone supporting it. Hope it doesn't disappoint.

Disclaimer; Blachkeart0009 and I do not own Pyrrha from RWBY nor do I own Batman Arkham series. The closest is the games themselves but I don't think they count.

The Invincible Girl: Arkham Asylum

Chapter 4: Call an Ambulance…But Not for Me

Pyrrha studied her surroundings, seeing the large mansion and architecture as well as the few security guards in full gear on the grounds. But her attention was brought to the moon, something she found to be so strange. The fact this moon was…well whole and unbroken made it seem like an omen to her. She knew she wasn't on Remnant for a while by the subtle clues such as Batman asking his comrade to look for information on her, (being a four times national champion should have made that search very short even if she disliked it), how Batman was both confused by Dust and its uses, and of course the fact this whole asylum and Joker would have attracted an army of Grimm by themselves alone. Maybe a small part of her was in denial but seeing the moon as it was seemed to be the final proof that she truly was in a different world. She pushed that aside as she knew that Joker and his actions took priority over anything else. Batman walked to the edge of the cliffside before looking towards her, "are you able to get to the ground by yourself?"

Realizing what he meant, she took a quick look to judge the distance before she nodded, "I should be able to use a normal landing strategy on my own."

Batman nodded before he jumped off, grabbing his cape as it stiffened up and allowed him to glide to the ground without any issues. Pyrrha took a small step back before running off the cliff after him. Batman landed and glanced back to see Pyrrha land in a roll to lessen the impact, her shield in front before she got into a stance with her sword transformed and ready in case she was attacked. It seemed to be instinctual as she realized no one was heading towards her and got up with her weapon stored on her back once more. Batman said nothing as he knew something working on instincts in the field and that can be the difference between life and death. It just added more questions about her, but he pushed them aside for now.

Pyrrha looked around, taking some of the details of the ground and the large looming mansion before them. with the security guards around she felt more at ease that this area wasn't overrun like the other areas they have seen so far. She was about to ask Batman what their next plan was, but she paused seeing something she didn't notice when she was above on the cliff. A fountain with the centerpiece being a large statue of Warden Sharp standing looking serious with one hand behind on and the other on his cane. Pyrrha stared up at the statue and couldn't help but feel how tacky it was. 'He did mention campaigning for mayor when Joker was brought in. I didn't realize how much of an ego he had. I don't think anyone would think a large statue of themselves to be a good idea.'

(Across Space and Time, Jacques Schnee and Cinder Fall both suddenly sneezed at the same time)

Both stopped when they heard that might have been the asylum's loudspeaker system chiming but the sound was so distorted it gave unnatural vibes. Then Joker's voice can be heard. "Hmm, Harley tells me that the Batman's car is still parked outside the Intensive Treatment building. Now, we can't have him or the kid up and leave us, can we?"

Pyrrha glanced at Batman while the hero had a stern face as if he knew what was coming next. Joker's announcement went on. "Every thug, villain, murderer, and kindergarten teacher that isn't carrying out party orders should head there now and smash it to pieces."

There was a click as the announcement ended. Not long afterwards Batman got an alert from his wrist computer. He didn't even need to read it to know it was his vehicle's sensors alerting him. He immediately went to his commlink, "Oracle, disable the Batmobile's countermeasure systems."

Pyrrha then heard the reply from her own commlink and no doubt Batman's as well. "I saw the alert. What's wrong? Where are you?"

"Pyrrha and I are outside the Arkham mansion," he replied. "She now has a commlink to our channels. Harley Quinn probably triggered the alarm. If she still has Gordon with her, he could get hurt."

Pyrrha couldn't help but wonder what kind of countermeasure his vehicle might have that he would need the disabled to prevent harm to the commissioner. Oracle worked fast as she told them, "Okay done! The Batmobile is still parked in front of the Intensive Treatment building in Arkham North. I've sent the schematics to the whole island and marked key locations."

"Thanks, Oracle," Batman said as he stopped the call.

"Now that that's done," Oracle said in Pyrrha's commlink, surprising the huntress. "Hello Pyrrha, you can call me Oracle. I'm tall, dark, and brooding's cyber expert."

"Oh, hello there," Pyrrha greeted, feeling slightly awkward.

Pyrrha could hear a slight laugh from Oracle, "Well until this mess is over, I'll be watching over you as well. I saw a bit of you fighting so I know you can handle yourself and keep up with Batman. He may be strict, but you can't find a better person to watch your back in a place like this."

"I'll be sure to watch his back as well," Pyrrha said, glancing at Batman who was leading the way down the path and followed him.

Oracle gave another amused laugh, "I'll hold you to that."

The call went dead and Pyrrha glanced at Batman who said nothing about the short conversation she just had. Unable to help herself, Pyrrha looked up at the moon, shining brightly with minimum cloud cover, still amazed at seeing it whole. Batman noticed her attention wasn't on the gate as they neared it "What's wrong?"

Pyrrha realized what she was doing and shook her head to focus. "I'm sorry. It's just…I'm just not used to seeing a moon that isn't broken before."

It was Batman's years of discipline that kept him from reacting to this. He filed it away, but it raised a few more red flags and more questions he had about her. But those questions will have to wait till later. They reached a wall with a large metal security door and a few more security guards beside it, either resting or waiting for more news and orders. The gate opened as they approached, revealing an ambulance parked and still running in the narrow opening with two guards lying either on the ground or slumped against the ambulance itself. Another guard was kneeling before the one against the ambulance. Pyrrha didn't have to check to notice they weren't breathing and no doubt already dead. As they approached the guard noticed them, "I can't believe it, they killed Jackson."

Pyrrha wasn't sure what to say to the man grieving for his friend. Batman looked focused but unhappy with more deaths caused by Joker. "Stay with your colleagues, we're ending this now."

The guard nodded before he warned them, "Two inmates are behind a locked gate and will shoot anyone they see."

"They won't see us," Batman assures him, using his detective vision to confirm this.

Batman walked towards the front of the ambulance and used his grappling hook to reach an outcrop that was a part of the wall holding the gate, making sure to stay out of sight. Pyrrha was quick to follow, jumping to the roof of the ambulance and then another to land next to Batman. Afterward, they silently land behind the inmates without alerting them. Batman snapped to the first inmate and got him in a chokehold while Pyrrha snuck behind the farthest one kicked his legs out and got him in her own hold. They struggled for a few seconds before passing out and they were dropped to the ground. Batman gave a nod of approval and took point to the second security gate. Once it was open, they could see six inmates in the distance pounding on a black vehicle, some using bats and pipes while others kicked at places they could damage.

Pyrrha narrowed her eyes, focusing on them and noticed something. "I don't see Harley nor the commissioner."

"We'll take care of these men first," Batman said as they walked towards them. "Then we'll look for a trail we can follow."

"Understood," Pyrrha said as she got her weapons ready.

Batman took point as he rushed forward, drawing a batarang, and threw it at one of the thugs. One inmate was about to swing his pipe against the car when he was struck by the Batarang, forcing him to drop the pipe and hold his head in a daze as he dropped to his knees. This got the attention of the other inmates and they turned to see Batman and Pyrrha rush them. Pyrrha leaped over the Batmobile to fight the three on the other side and let Batman handle the remaining. As she landed between two inmates she bashed her shield into the swing of a pipe, forcing him to drop it from the shock as she used her spear to trip the other beside her. With him on the ground Pyrrha focused on the first and swiped her weapon at him, striking him each time before she ended her combo with a knee to the gut. The third inmate took this moment to come at her with his own bat and swung at her. Pyrrha caught the weapon in the grove of her shield and raised her shield away from her. Now wide open, Pyrrha spun around and drove her elbow into his gut, forcing him to drop his weapon and stumble back. Keeping the momentum she spun and threw her shield, hitting the man in the chest and knocking him down. The shield bounced off of him and spun right at Pyrrha but she ducked, having the shield hit the inmate who had gotten back into his feet. Catching her shield she was once more back on the offensive.

As they fought Joker was speaking over the loudspeakers "The entire island will soon be under my control. That's right boys and girls. Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine. Just wait till you see my plans for this place. It's going to be glorious."

Batman didn't pay much mind to Joker's speech as it was the clown running his ego. Instead, he parried a punch from one inmate before he knocked the man to the ground another punch knocked the man out. As he was getting up, he caught a kick from another inmate trying to take him by surprise. Off balance, the man couldn't defend himself when Batman pulled the leg to send him on his back, before crying out when Batman twisted his leg and broke it. He took a glance at Pyrrha to see she had finished the last inmate as well, leaving them alone.

Once the last inmate was knocked out, Batman examined the car and around it. "Harley trashed the car but it looks like there was a scuffle. We need to search the area around the Batmobile. There could be a clue to where she took Gordon."

Pyrrha nodded and started to glance around, stepping over the groaning inmates as she checked the ground near the car. After a moment she was worried that she might have to move the men to see if they weren't covering anything when she noticed something. It was a bright smoking pipe lying on the ground next to the spilled contents of no doubt tobacco. Seeing as that seemed to be it of place, Pyrrha picked it up and turned it over, checking it out. It was a well-made pipe that seemed professionally handmade. But then she noticed that on the side of the pipe were the carved letters, 'J' and 'G'. It only took her a moment to realize who this might belong to. "Batman!" She called out, getting his attention. Once he got near she held up the pipe, "I found this."

He took the pipe and turned it over to examine it. "Strange," Batman said as he used his cowl to scan the held pipe, "This is Gordon's pipe. It was given to him by his daughter. There's no way he'd leave it like that." He knelt where Pyrrha found it and his cowl picked up something else. He punched a bit and realized what it was. "This is Wild Country, Gordon's favorite tobacco." His cowl quickly highlighted bits of the same tobacco, revealing a trail. "Gordon left us a trail to follow."

"Brilliant!" Pyrrha said, happy that they had a lead.

Batman nodded and called Oracle, "Oracle, we found a pipe with the commissioner's initials carved into it."

Oracle noticed that Batman refrained from mentioning her connection but still played along. "It was a birthday gift. There is no way he'd leave it."

Pyrrha nodded and said over the shared commlink, "Batman said the same thing. He left us a trail to follow. Which means he's still alive."

"Good luck,"Oracle said and Pyrrha could hear a bit of relief in her voice after she heard that.

Since Batman had the best way of finding their trail, Pyrrha expected him to take the lead but was surprised when he held up a hand to stop her. "We're going to need some supplies," Batman said as he headed to Batmobile. He opened the trunk and pulled out a dispenser with a tube sticking out of the top. After a quick examination to make sure it was in working order he tossed it to Pyrrha, who managed to catch it while he grabbed a second one. "This sprays an explosive gel that can break through weakened structures," he explained before he noticed part of the pavement was weakened and something hidden underneath. He motioned her to follow him as he knelt down and demonstrated as he sprayed a small version of the bat-like symbol on his chest. Pyrrha raised a brow as he stopped while the spray expanded slightly. "You only need a few seconds for it to be effective and will detonate when you pull the trigger." He held up the sprayer and pressed the trigger, causing the gel to explode, breaking the pavement and creating dust.

Pyrrha wasn't expecting that and jumped but realized that the explosion was small and contained. But she was also amazed when she noticed a green riddler trophy lying there, letting her know why he did this part besides showing her how to use it. After placing the dispenser with her other gear she couldn't help but ask, "Is it safe to use with others around us?"

"Even if someone walked over it and it was detonated, they will be knocked back and dazed. It's safe unless you spray it onto someone's body. Which you must never do."

Pyrrha nodded before Batman took the lead as he followed the trail left for them. She then asked, "And… is the drawn symbol necessary?"

Batman paused for a moment, "years of trial and error to get the perfect amount led to shortcuts in the field. It's more muscle memory and habit now."

Pyrrha had to cover her mouth with a hand to keep from giggling but managed to control herself. "Understood."

The heroes followed the trail, the loudspeakers went off again and Joker's voice cried out, "Anyone seen the big bad Bat? I warn you; he may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot but don't let that fool you…he really is an idiot. And he's also with a new kid who is following him like a lost puppy. She needs to learn that the big bad bat is a terrible example to follow from. He should know."

He then laughed, making Pyrrha glance at Batman who had a hard look on his face. Seeing as it was a touchy subject she didn't question it as they had more important things to focus on. The trail led to them to a different gate but unlike the others didn't make a motion or sound even when in front of it. A quick scan told Batman that the gate was locked, and used this moment as a test. "They lock this secret gate, we're going to need to find another way around."

Pyrrha frowned as she studied the gate for a moment. She had considered using her semblance on it but without knowing the locking mechanism she knew it wasn't a good idea. Seeing as the wall itself was too large for them to scale and climb, she noticed the wall next to the gate looked like pieces were missing. "Is that wall weak enough for the gel to be used? Perhaps it can be used to go around?"

Batman nodded, pleased with her suggestion as he had noticed the wall with his cowl as well. "Good, try out the gel for yourself."

Pyrrha nodded and walked to the wall and got out of the dispenser. She didn't make the bat symbol but a scribbling line that expanded after she stopped a few seconds later. Taking a step back Pyrrha pressed the trigger and the wall broke apart from the explosion, revealing a small tunnel. "Good work," Batman said, finding her methods acceptable. "I'll admit, I expected you to try and use your powers on the security door."

Pyrrha blushed, "I'll admit I had considered it but without knowing the locking mechanisms I fear would end up breaking the door. And after we stop Joker it wouldn't help matter if it was broken like that. Same for trying to pull the gate itself from the wall."

Again Batman nodded, pleased with her reasoning. "Good. Your powers are a tool, yes but you also must be mindful of what your actions can lead to. Sometimes we have no choice in the actions we need to save someone but when other options we need to use proper judgment."

Batman took point once again and led the way. It was a maintenance tunnel that allowed them to find a door that allowed them to exit behind the security gate. Luckily the second security gate for the next section of the island wasn't locked. Batman followed the trail when he stopped and noticed something. Pyrrha peeked around him and saw why he stopped. Two inmates were at the front of a building that had a sign labeled 'visitor center'. However, these inmates were nailing boards together and to the side of the entrance, almost as if they were trying to build a wooden fence or something. At least that was the first thought Pyrrha had when she saw what they were doing. One inmate turned to grab another board when he saw them out of the corner of his eyes. The man jumped in shock and fear. "It's the Bat!"

The other criminal jumped and saw the pair too, only his first reaction was to try and throw the hammer he had in his hands. Batman was about to sidestep to avoid the lazy throw when he noticed the hammer gained a barely visible black glow around it before it shifted midair and missed both of them. Batman dove toward the inmate who was pulling his arm back to throw his hammer as well. He tackled the man as they rolled on the ground with Batman having him in a sudden arm lock before he jerked and broke the man's arm. With him injured, Batman knocked him out before he stood up to see Pyrrha standing over the other inmate after she had knocked him out. He nodded before using his cowl to find their trail again. He quickly found bits of wild country going in one direction, but his cowl also picked up the readings of someone alive but in hiding. Deciding to investigate motioned Pyrrha to follow him as she also noticed the new trial but obeyed seeing as it might be important. They soon made it to a walkway that led to an overhead guard tower where a security guard was crouched down and peering over the edge while another body of a guard laced not far from him unconscious. The guard noticed them approaching but relaxed seeing it was Batman, and while he didn't know Pyrrha, he knew if she was out and about while with Batman, she wasn't with Joker. "Batman what's going on?" he asked once they got nearer. "The crazies are moving towards the medical facility. What's Joker doing?"

"He's trying to take over the island piece by piece," Batman explained in his stern even tone. "It looks like medical is his next target."

"Has anyone got out of the building?" Pyrrha asked, worried about any staff caught in the attack.

The security guard grimaced, "I saw a doctor try and get out. He was torn apart, thrown into the water. He didn't stand a chance."

"You wait here," Batman ordered. "We'll take care of it."

As they left Batman mentioned to Pyrrha, "If my hunch is correct we'll find Gordon and Harley at the medical facility."

Pyrrha nodded, "at least that way we can both save the commissioner and the other medical staff." She sighed, "I can't believe that they would just kill a doctor so readily."

"We'll save everyone we can" Batman assured her as they followed the trail down the hill and as they suspected toward the medical building. As they moved the messed up chimes rang and Joker's voice called over the speakers once more. "I don't know about you but I'm having a great time. You guys just make it look so easy. Like you're not even trying. Which is not what I pay you to do. Find everyone now!

He growled out the last part as the heroes moved up the stone steps towards medical, passing the body of another security guard. Pyrrha frowned at the orders and hoped they would make it in time. They reached the top of the steps to see sex inmates standing over the bodies of two more security guards, dead at their feet.

Batman and Pyrrha simply walked down the steps, getting the inmates' attention and forcing them to rush the two. Batman blocked the first punch and countered with an elbow to his opponent's front and knocked him back. Pyrrha held her shield forward and slammed it full force into one inmate. This knocked the air from his lungs before he flew back where one of his partners to catch him. That inmate looked up just in time to see Pyrrha had jumped and spun in the air, landing a kick right to his face. He fell to the ground dazed while dropping his teammate. Pyrrha lands in a crouch, avoiding a swing from another inmate only to trip him up with her spear and another kick to the face knocked him out. While the other two were still down, Pyrrha slammed her shield into the chest of one of them before leaping forward and striking the other with a hit to the head. Batman had already knocked the other two out before he caught a punch from the last man standing before pulling his whole body to slam his knee into the goon's stomach. With a groan, he dropped when Batman released his hold before seeing that Pyrrha had finished the others.

"Alright," Batman said as he stomped on one of the remaining chattering teeth by his feet. "Let's go."

"Right behind you," Pyrrha said, stabbing the other two teeth before following Batman into the main entrance.

The first thing they saw was Harley, sitting in a chair with her legs on the table in front of her. Too bad they were separated by a security gate that held an electric energy field, completely blocking their path. The commissioner wasn't anywhere they could see as they walked forward, getting Harley's attention. "Hey scram Bats!" She all but shouts in annoyance. "This is my me time!" She then noticed Pyrrha beside him as her mood and tone changed to be a bit brighter. "Oh, hey Little Red. You up for that girl talk now?"

Pyrrha wasn't expecting the friendly question but decided it might help them out. "I suppose. You wouldn't know where the commissioner is would you?"

Harley looked amused by the request "Wouldn't you like to know?"

"I'm over here!" Came the commissioner's voice just out of their view.

Pyrrha looked relieved that he was fine while Batman activated his cowl to see his friend healthy and alive but tied to a chair. Harley was annoyed at being interrupted, "Shut up!" She cried as she grabbed a mug on the table she was at and threw it at him.

Gordon shouted as he was hit, and they could hear the mug breaking. "Ahh! You crazy bitch."

Pyrrha frowned, "you don't have to be so mean to him like that."

Harley looked at the younger girl in surprise. Her look then changed, almost softening before she gave a harder look towards Batman. "You shouldn't have brought her here Batman, she's too good for this place."

Before Batman can respond Joker's face appears on the television on the wall. "Harley!" Harley gave a small shriek and turned to the screen. "What are they doing here? It's too early?"

Harley jumped to her feet and skipped over to the screen. "I'm sorry Puddin'. Don't be angry with me!" She then gave a small kiss on the screen.

Pyrrha felt slightly uncomfortable with how easily Harley was flirting with her…boyfriend? Batman didn't react as he glared at the screen. Joker chuckled as if amused. "You little minx. I can never stay mad at you."

He then cuts the screen, leaving Harley to turn back towards the heroes. "Sorry B-man, Little Red. You'll have to find another way. Buh-bye now!"

She then cartwheeled out of view, no doubt to move Gordon deeper into the building. Batman motioned for Pyrrha to follow her, "We'll have to find another way in from outside."

Pyrrha nodded, seeing as they had no way to shut off the gate or cut power to it. Once outside Pyrrha turned to Batman, "As a medical center, surely there or other emergency entrances and exits we can use."

However, Batman shook his head, "the asylum and everything may have been upgraded over the years but they were built years before standard enforcement codes were made. It was seen as a security risk to have more than one entrance, even more, when the island is on lockdown."

It seemed like a massive oversite to Pyrrha but she didn't voice this as it wouldn't help their matter. With how the night has gone and how Joker has been acting, she can understand a little how they want to take security seriously but now it is working against them. Thinking back to the locked security gate and how they got around it, Pyrrha asked, "What about maintenance entrances and pathways? Like the tunnel we used."

Batman nodded, "that'll be our best chance. Hang on."

Pyrrha didn't have a chance to question what his last statement meant before Batman pulled her close and grappled them both up toward the roof. Once on the flat surface, Pyrrha steadied herself while Batman activated his cowl to find a weak point. "Do you think we will find one here?" she couldn't help but ask aloud.

"It's the highest probability," Batman concluded as he stepped to a higher vantage point and then spotted something, "and we have our way in."

Curious Pyrrha followed Batman to the top and followed his gaze. She found on a separate wing of the building she noticed that part of the roof was exposed, the singling and structure gone exposing a concrete wall that was the main wall of the building. There were signs of repairs attempted to be done but the exposed wall was cracked and weakened by being exposed. Normally this would be a problem, but for the duo, this was what they needed. Without a word, Batman jumped down and sprayed some explosive gel on the wall and blew it into the building as Pyrrha joined him. Batman jumped down into the room showing machines to work the air vents and filters. Thankfully the door to the room was unlocked and now they were inside the medical facility.

Smaller chain-link gates were cutting their path but enough room for them to climb over as the speakers of the building came alive with Joker giving orders. "I want all the doctors rounded up. Search every inch of the medical building."

Pyrrha frowned, hearing that more doctors were being targeted by Joker. But it sounded like he wanted them rather than to have them just killed. Batman found their path blocked by unturned equipment blocking the door but a grate to a vent would allow them to keep going.

"I mean it. Search every room, every office, and every trashcan. If another doctor tries to run and get out of the building, then you won't! I'll just flood the room with happy gas and leave you to die. Hell, I might do that anyway, sounds fun."

Concern grew at hearing this but while Pyrrha was worried about the threat, something else stood out to her. "It sounds like Joker wants the doctors for something. And I don't believe it is simply hostages."

"Agreed" Batman stated as he dropped down to a different level of the vents. "I don't know what he wants from them, but we'll have to free them all the same."

They turned and part of the vent was open screens allowing them to peer inside a large room. As well as the people inside. "Get off of me!" A female doctor said as she struggled in the arms of an inmate.

"Shut it and get down there with the others!" The criminal ordered before pushing the woman towards a closed-off room with more people inside of it and an armed inmate standing guard at one end of the room.

"Okay, okay, I hear you. I'm going," the doctor said, slowly rising and keeping her hands up for the inmate to see. She clearly sounded scared as she eyed both armed goons.

"We got to save them," Pyrrha said, wanting to get down there.

"We will," Batman assured her as he kept moving. As they moved to a different series of vents, Batman had time to use his cowl to study their opponents. "We got five criminals, all armed with rifles, and five hostages. The hostages are in one room with a single goon. Once we get out into the open, we will split up. I'll take out the ones on the walkway so they can't spot us from the higher vantage points."

"Understood" Pyrrha answered as they reached a lower section of the room. Batman kicked the grate open and they exited the vents into a small medical exam room. Pyrrha followed out, only to pause when she saw a large, barred cage in one corner of the room, the bars looking like they were ripped apart from something inside. She wondered why such a thing was in a medical building when she recalled the large reptile faunas-looking man when she first arrived. She quickly pushed it from her mind as Batman grappled up to the walkway in the center of the room behind an inmate and caught him in a chokehold. Once he was knocked out, he moved to the other end with a second guard walking down the stairs and now caught as well.

Pyrrha snuck as quietly as she could from room to room, eyeing the inmate walking around on patrol. She hid behind a desk as she waited for him to walk past the doorway from where she was hiding. Once he did, Pyrrha tipped toed out before she caught the man and kicked out his legs. He struggled but Pyrrha had knocked the gun away to stop him before he blacked out. However, the clattering of the gun got someone's attention. "What was that?" One inmate asked, standing near the door to the hostages.

"Check it out," the other ordered. "It might be the Bat."

"What if it this kid the boss said as with him?"

"Then shot them up too, what do you think idiot!?"

Pyrrha watched behind the corner as one inmate walked towards her, but kept calm. She did however hear one of the hostages crying in fear, which annoyed their captor. "Stop yer cryin' or I'll show you something that'll really upset you."

Pyrrha grits her teeth but notices that Batman was now on the gargoyle right over where the inmate was standing guard over the doctors. Batman noticed Pyrrha was in position before he used his grappling hook to swoop down, grab the goon, and drag him back up. The inmate screamed when he was captured before Batman dropped him, leaving the inmate hanging from his leg.

The inmate stalking towards Pyrrha nearly passed her heard his partner's cries and turned to run back towards him. Pyrrha took her chance to come up and kicked his legs from under him. Once on the ground, Pyrrha used her shield to knock him out. While it was louder than the other attempts but since he was the last enemy, Pyrrha didn't feel a need to use stealth. She stood up and walked towards the hostages as Joker's voice could be heard over the loudspeakers, "Hello? Is there a doctor in the house? No? Pity. I seem to have a pile of wounded henchmen that need medical attention."

Pyrrha rounded the corner as Batman dropped down to help the hostages. "You're safe now," he told them.

One of the female doctors addressed him. "I don't know what happened. One minute we were doing our evening rounds and the next armed thugs burst into the room and took us hostage."

"Did they have anyone with them?" Batman asked, having suspicions.

She nodded, "they took someone into the elevator, I couldn't tell who it was."

"It might be the commissioner," Pyrrha added, following what Batman was asking.

He nodded, "most likely. They obviously didn't want to be followed. The elevator appears to have been powered down. You're going to be okay here."

"We should be fine now," the doctor agreed.

"What about the others?" One of the nurses asked, his voice showing concern. "We heard gunfire. They could be dead! We should go and help."

The doctor gasped, "Oh no, I forgot. Doctor Kellerman was in the Patient Observation room and Dr. Chen went into surgery."

"And Dr. Young went to x-ray," added the nurse.

"Okay stay here," Batman ordered them. "We'll find the other doctors."

The two medical staff nodded and went to help the others who looked more roughed up from the inmates.

Batman left them to their work as he jumped over the railing to the next floor and Pyrrha followed him. One of the doors that were deeper into the building had the labels for the sections they needed to go. Pyrrha felt that was lucky until they pushed past the door and saw the sections were in two different wings. The X-ray was up ahead while surgery was to the left. "We need to split up," Batman told Pyrrha. "I'll take surgery and patient observation. You get Doctor Young in X-ray. Call Oracle or I did you need help. I'm trusting you handle this."

"I won't let you down," Pyrrha told him as she ran ahead toward X-ray.

Batman moved on his path while he set a private channel to contact his support, "Oracle, Pyrrha, and I are splitting up to find the remaining doctors in the Medical Facility. Keep an eye out if you can."

"Wow, you're trusting her already?" Oracle asked.

"I don't like it but if it will be faster saving the doctors' lives, then I'll take it," Batman explained. "Plus, I feel she generally will try her hardest to save Dr. Young."

"I'll keep an ear out and help when I can," Oracle said, working on making sure the signal was staying strong while they went deeper.

With that Batman ended the channel and entered the surgery room.

(Scene change)

When they split off Pyrrha followed the path labeled as X-ray. As she did the televisions hanging from the ceiling were running infomercials from the Warden and even mentioned Dr. Young. She didn't pay it much attention to it though as was on something she found to be very odd. As she walked up the stairs she found an oversized purple present with a green ribbon and bow on it. After everything that had been happening, she felt it was too out of place. It only took Pyrrha a moment to realize this could be a trap made by the Joker. After shifting Milo to its spear form, Pyrrha jumped back a decent distance before she lightly threw her weapon to stab slightly into the box. Once it struck the box burst…open in a display of confetti and made several chattering teeth fall out and clatter to the ground. Pyrrha blinked at this display before she scowled at how Joker made a fool out of her without even being there. She took a moment to take a deep breath and collect herself. 'I have to remember what Batman said about him. perhaps he is trying to set us in a false sense of security and have some more of these with real traps. I'm sure Batman would take them seriously so I must as well.'

She will privately admit she took way more satisfaction in crushing the chattering teeth beneath her heels than she should have.

Once she was back on track, Pyrrha ran down the hallways focusing on her task rather than the screens playing their infomercial of Dr. Young talking about a treatment she was calling 'Titan'? She wasn't sure what that was as she had a bad feeling about this Titan. As soon as Pyrrha turned the corner she was forced to push those thoughts aside as she had three goons standing in front of the door to x-ray. They quickly noticed her as she slid into view. "Who the hell is that?" one of them asked,

"Kill her now and ask questions later," his buddy answered as he rushed her.

Pyrrha wasted no time by sliding low on the ground, using her weapon to trip his legs and flip him onto his back. Using the momentum, Pyrrha slid in front of the second gun and launched herself into a shield first dash, slamming into him and knocking him out when he hit the wall. The last goon swung his weapon, a metal pipe, back and tried to hit her. For Pyrrha, it was practically in slow motion as her years of training and combat experience with weapons showed how awful the man was in his stance. Overextending, not having a proper hold of his weapon, and not even having any control over his movement with his weapon. She has faced far better opponents in her tournament fights and at Beacon. Hell Cardin was doing better than this man.

Without putting much effort, Pyrrha used her blade to catch and parry the pipe before a flick of the blade and it was sent flying from his hands and it clattered to the ground. The man stumbled before he backed away quickly to avoid the twirling blade from Pyrrha, only for her shield to be launched and strike him in the chest. He fell to the floor dazed before a kick to the head knocked him out. Pyrrha spun around, crouching and transforming her weapon into its rifle form, and fired twice, The first inmate was getting up only to be shot by the Dust round in the back, knocking him down and out.

The whole fight lasted about ten seconds, Pyrrha got to her feet and entered the x-ray room without a second glance.

Once inside she could hear the muffled sounds of people speaking, one sounded like a young woman. She glanced up and saw several TVs showing security footage in the room where she was hearing the voices from. five inmates, all armed with one doctor at the far side of the room. Two thugs were holding their weapons at her while the other was pacing while speaking to her, while the remaining three stood to one side.

Pyrrha moved around the room, seeing windows as a way to get inside but with so many inmates armed and ready to shoot at a moment's notice she couldn't risk rushing in. Finally seeing she needed a plan she moved to the far side of the room so as not to be overheard and called Oracle. "Oracle, I found Dr. Young. She's trapped in a room with several inmates ready to kill her."

"Alright," Oracle said, typing away and pulling up blueprints for that section of Arkham. "We need a way to take them out without risking the doctor."

"I know my semblance can remove their guns," Pyrrha admitted. "And if the doctor wasn't there it would be an option. But even if I do during a fight one of them can easily rearm inside that small room. I don't have a way to take them all out at once."

After a moment Oracle had an idea, "Is Dr. Young in the corner near the X-ray displays?"

Pyrrha checked the camera, "she is."

"Okay I have a plan but it's risky," Oracle told her. "I know Batman gave you some explosive gel. If you sprayed the walls behind the inmates, the ones farthest from Dr. Young then the blast would break the walls and the pieces will knock the men out. They will take the brunt of the damage and keep Dr. Young safe."

Pyrrha sighed, "That is risky, but I don't have a choice."

"Good Luck."

"Thanks," Pyrrha mutters as she ends the call. "I'll be needing it."

It took longer than Pyrrha would have liked but with peeking through the window and checking the camera feeds, Pyrrha found the two walls she needed to use. She sprayed a line of gel on each wall before she took a step around the corner, before holding the dispenser and pressing the trigger. Both walls exploded, sending broken sections of concrete inward. The inmates didn't even realize what happened before they were hit hard and were all knocked out. Doctor Young screamed, in panic as the explosions happened, crouching down and covering her head. After a few seconds, she looked up to see she wasn't touched at all, and all her captors were on the ground.

Pyrrha quickly ran into the room, hoping she didn't need to pick any of the men off but found they were all down. Dr. Young noticed Pyrrha and was on edge. "Who are you?"

"My name is Pyrrha," she told her. "I'm working with Batman to stop this."

Hearing that Pyrrha was with Batman helped ease the doctor's nerves. It helped that this girl clearly was the one that rescued her. "What's going on? They were talking like they were in control. Is it true Joker escaped?"

"Unfortunately, yes," Pyrrha answered grimly. "And he has part of the Asylum under lockdown by him and his men. But Batman and I are working to stop him."

Dr. Young nodded, frowning as she said, "I'd been studying Joker's case for months when he broke out. The warden was very specific he wanted Joker cured."

"Well he's now captured by Joker," Pyrrha explained, having a feeling the man's agenda was for more personal gains but decided not to voice it.

Dr. Young seemed to have a similar idea, "ugh, and his worries about his mayoral campaign used to be the least of his worries. God I almost forgot; they said they were moving through the facility hunting down the other doctors."

"We know, Batman and I split up to save them," Pyrrha assured her. "Come on, I'll take you to the others."

Dr. Young nodded, following Pyrrha as they stepped over the men. Once they exited the X-ray room, Pyrrha contacted Batman, "Batman, I got Dr. Young. We're heading back to the others."

"Good," he told her over the comm. "I already free Dr. Chen from surgery after an ambush. I'm getting just about to free Dr. Kellerman and Cash in Observation."

"We'll see you back in the main area," Pyrrha said, ending the comm.

As they turned the corner, Pyrrha forced them to stop as she noticed a new purple present box in the middle of the hallway, something that wasn't there before. Pyrrha motioned the doctor to stay back as she crept forward before she threw her shield at the box. It burst open, freeing more chattering teeth. Pyrrha sighed as she got her shield, "I swear Joker just loves to make me think there is a bomb or something in there."

"Got to keep you on your toes. Can't have you become boring like Bats when he's not playing with me."

The two women jumped as the screen changed to Joker staring at them. Dr. Young seems to try and place herself behind Pyrrha and out of Joker's view. Pyrrha however glared at Joker who laughed at her display. "I'm not sure I can keep it a secret any longer," he told them. "Got two old friends coming to the party. I know you don't know them but one is terrified that you'll leave without saying hello. The other… well, let's say that he'll be as surprised to see you and Batman as you will be seeing him."

Pyrrha kept her glare even as the screen went blank. Behind her, Dr. Young looked worried as if she had an idea what Joker was talking about. After a moment Pyrrha got them moving again, breaking the teeth as they left.

When they exited the doors into the lobby, one of the other doctors noticed them, "Dr. Young!"

Pyrrha smiled as she waved towards them. From behind the door opened once more as Batman walked out with the two other doctors and the security guard with the hook for a hand. Batman walked towards Pyrrha while Dr. Young moved towards the others. "Nice work saving Dr. Young," he told her.

"I'm sorry," she apologized, which surprised him. "I needed help from Oracle."

"I heard," Batman said shaking his head. "Considering the circumstances it was a good option."

"Batman! We got another problem."

The hero turned as the security guard moved towards them with Dr. Young by his side. "What's wrong Cash?" Batman asked him.

Dr. Young stepped forward. "I need to get back to the mansion. All my research notes are there. We can't risk Joker getting his hands on them."

"It's not safe doctor," Batman denied at once. "The island is a war zone. You won't stand a chance."

"It's my life's work!" Dr. Young claimed angrily. "You don't have the authority to-"

"Enough people have already died or have been hurt," Pyrrha said to try and calm her down. "We don't want you to be another victim."

"I'll get her there Batman," Cash offered. "If you ask me it's time for a little payback."

"I don't like it," Batman said before an alarm went off.

Everyone turned to see a light above the elevator door flashing and sounding off. "Who called the elevator?" Batman demanded.

"It wasn't us," the nurse assured them. "It's coming from the lower floors."

Batman and Pyrrha shared a look and nodded. Batman turned to the others, "Cash, take Dr. Young. Get her notes and then find somewhere safe to hole up. Everyone else, get to the observation room. Barricade yourself in."

He then used his grappling hook to get to a gargoyle while Pyrrha got to the next floor and jumped on the room of one of the exam rooms or offices. As the remaining doctors exited the room, the elevator door opened and several henchmen walked out, guns at the ready before they started to spread out and search for someone. No doubt who they were looking for as they spoke up. "The Boss said they were in here. Spread out."

"The Bat or the kid?"

"Shoot both of them!"

They spotted only three inmates that came through the elevator, each one splitting up in their search. The heroes shared a look before nodding and taking their own targets. Batman glided down with barely a sound behind one inmate which he quickly grabbed. Pyrrha waited till her target walked past before she jumped down behind him. He heard her land but was grabbed before he had a chance to react. The last inmate knew none of this, walking down to the lower levels, his gun at the ready. He didn't notice the shadow that was Batman until it was too late.

The two heroes met once more in front of the elevator, this time opening up and waiting. Seeing the path they needed to take, they entered the elevator silently as the doors closed behind them and started to go deeper into the Medical Facility.

And the Medical Facility is done. Now we move deeper into the building and will face some heavy hitters for the first time. How was the chapter? Was I losing my touch? Did I have Pyrrha's actions believable or was it not good enough? So tell me how badly I messed up and how much you all hated the chapter for taking too long. Remember; all Flames will all used to keep the inmates of Arkham warm at night so bring it on.

Next time we have Batman and Pyrrha face Scarecrow and the fear gas. And let me tell you…you all will be hating me for what I have planned. (insert Joker Laugh)

Let's begin…I'm gonna make you wish that I'd stay gone.
