Hinata is different because of Mika, she saw him growing despite being treated poorly by others. She admires him,... not as she does Naruto, but still. She is an easily influenced person by nature.

I did steal one thing from my previous story, one thing that worked really well.

To Mika's shock, Hinata struck first, aiming for Mika's chest with an open palm strike. Knowing, from many books on the Hyuuga, that she was quite dangerous he grabbed her wrist and pulled her in toward him, startling her. Twisting, he turned and threw her away, noticing immediately that she was holding back. Her could see it in her face, her movements as slight as they were.

"Go all out, I cannot get better if you pussy foot around. Show me what you can do!" He lashed out then with his foot, as she flipped onto her feet and rushed him once more. Her eyes sharpened, anger and frustration burning in her eyes. She twisted around his foot, and slammed a palm into his shoulder. Immediately his entire arm went numb and he felt true pain for the first time in years. "There, that's it." With his left hand, he pulled out his tanto. "Now, how are you against my blade, Hime? Show me your worth!"

What came about next was a near dance, one that lasted over an hour as each got several strikes on each other. Hinata had a slice on her face, two on her arms and on her leg. Mika had bruises everywhere and could only really use one leg. They had to stop then, both worn out and utterly beat, but a smile was cracked across their faces. They both moved to solid ground, where they started to patch themselves up with a paste Hinata provided and basic first aid.

Hinata started to chatter suddenly, no stutters or anything. "I haven't felt so alive in a long time." She started. "I just... I am usually so afraid to fight, but knowing you can handle it, that there were no real consequences for fighting you... I even gave you the cream I made. I feel better than I have since before my mother passed."

The beauty of Hinata startled Mika. "You really are happy. I never realized it before, but you were so unhappy before. I love seeing this side of you."

She sighed then, looking down. "My father, he is a monster. Cruel and uncaring, strong but cold. He does not allow for the happiness of anyone so long as it does not benefit the clan. I hate it, but I endure it for my sister's sake."

"Hime, really... really you deserve better. Maybe it's time you fight for yourself, more than you fight for others?"

Her eyes warmed. "Maybe you are right."

"You like sweets, right? I always remember you having some at lunch." She nodded as Mika stood and shook off his hands. "Let's got get some, then maybe we can chat about a training regimine?"

"I'd like that." She took his hand and they started to shoot off, only for both to pause "We are being watched." She said, fear empowering her enough to summon Her Byakugan without handsigns.

Mika nodded. "I feel it, eyes on me and strong chakra nearby." He focused, needing the edge to really feel anything beyond the mere presence of chakra. Meditation was key here, and soon he turned, Senbon and his tanto out despite his injuries. "Hinata, you're far more important than me. Run."

Then, to his shock, Hinata actually growled. "No, I am tired of not fighting for myself. I fight here. Who are you?"

A woman popped out, with a shock of gray hair and brown eyes. She was oddly fair for one hailing from Cloud, if her headband said anything. Hinata took a step forward, falling low into her stance. " Ahh, puppies wanna play? Run yourself, boy, I just want the girl."

He shivered at her dark essence, oozing from her every facet. Adjusting his blade in hand, he fell low. "Run yourself. Do you really think you could break into the Leaf without being detected?"

She actually laughed here as she pulled out a blade. "I'll be long gone before they know I am here. Now... give me the girl!" She rushed them then, at speeds Mika could barely follow even at full power. He moved quick to block her attack, his left arm groaning as he endured the force of her attack. Hinata took the moment to jab at the Cloud Kunoichi, and even through her first blow was caught, Hinata managed to pepper her twice with Gentle Fist strikes... and then her wrist was snapped by the woman.

Hinata didn't even flinch, startling Mika with her resistance to pain, and hit the woman's shoulder with two more strikes, forcing her to let go of them both. "My father's done worse."

And Hiashi Hyuuga's life dimmed a bit then, Mika swearing to kill the man for that simple sentence.

Pulling out senbon, Mika started to pepper the woman, who used her one handed sword to block, only two went through and pierced her calf. Hissing, she started to reconsider and pull back, only for chains to suddenly wrap around the woman. "What?" She screamed, before two literal halves of a lucky cat statue tore out of the shadows and captured her, dispelling in a puff of smoke.

A startling man leaped into their training ground, tall with an aggressive aura. He wore a bandanna, his face horribly scarred, and yet there was a concern about him. "Are you alright?" His Leaf headband did little to calm either of them.

Hinata, her hands shaking, nodded first. "She came for us, for me. For my bloodline, my eyes. Mika helped me keep myself safe."

The man nodded. "I am Ibiki Morino, Head of Torture and Interrogation. That woman was a jonin from Cloud, you are lucky to be alive. Who are your jonin senseis?"

"I have none." Mika started. "I was placed in the reserves since there was not enough active mentors."

The man frowned. "You could keep away a jonin in your state, and you were placed... never mind, Girl, what about you?"

"Kurenai Yuhi."

"I see... and your wrist is broken. Come, we need to get you both treated, and then you need to give your report."

Mika nodded, as did Hinata, but before they moved Mika asked. "How did you know where to find us?"

It was then that The Hokage and his guards all appeared. Ibiki turned to them, stopping them all with a stare. "To answer your question, boy, I was going on a walk. I do that to clear my head. It really was chance that got me here. Lord Hokage, I captured the intruder I am sure you are after. We have things to discuss."

The Hokage nodded. "I see."

"These two did admirably. They both held off a jonin class Clound ninja, and did not flinch to defend themselves. Kurenai Yuhi should be proud of her student, but the boy..." He turned to Mika. "He held up and fought a jonin after clearly having sparred with this girl, a Hyuuga. A feat few could manage. He has no mentor. I would like to recitfy that."

"You mean to take him under your wing?"

Ibiki nodded, and Mika could not help but smile. " Really?"

"Competency is a rarity. I will not have that neglected. I cannot always be here, I lead TI, but I can spare a few days a week to mold you into more."

That made the Hokage smile. "So be it. Now, let's get these two medical care."

The two genin shared a look, before hurrying onward, to get healed and to make their first reports. Neither having any idea of the future to come.

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

This was a joy to write.
