In a penitentiary outside Central City, two prisoners sat in their respective wings - Sonic's evil, green counterpart and well-known terrorist Scourge the Hedgehog and the traitorous Freedom Fighter Fiona Fox. Today marked the four-year anniversary since their failed assassination of Sonic and Sally as well as their attempt to bomb Central City.
Laying on her cot, with one leg crossed over the other, Fiona looked out the window to the blue skies, a smirk appearing on her face. 'Heh, the sky looks the same it did that day four years ago.'
The vixen reminisced ass memories of that day came back to her. And as quickly as they came, they went away, and a sigh escaped her lips. Reaching under the pillow underneath her head, she pulled out a cell phone she smuggled in and began to text. "I'm bored."
Fiona waited a few moments before feeling her phone vibrate. Looking down at it, she saw a reply.
"It'll be visiting hours before you know it. Besides, no need to be bored. Today's a day for celebration. It's our anniversary."
The smile returned to Fiona's face as she saw the response from her lover, and she texted back. "Oh baby, that it is! You got plans? xxx"
"I might. And later on, during visiting hours we'll see how things are going on the outside."
The vixen involuntarily licked her lips in anticipation before replying. "Oh yes, I'm so desperate to know! I'm still like, shocked after the announcement of Sonic and Sally's little brat some time ago!"
"Tell me about it. It is what it is. That blue punk is actually gonna be a dad. What a joke."
A scoff came from Fiona before texting back. "Oh totally! Who would've thought?"
"And it's gonna be twins. Two bastards for the price of one."
Fiona's eyes widened. "Really? How do you know?"
"Guards won't shut the fuck up talking about it. And some of the others heard about it from the news apparently."
Fiona rolled her eyes. "Blue Boy never was one to just be quiet. How Sally puts up with him, I'll never know."
"Ain't that the truth. Hell, if I know. Nor do I really care."
"I got you," Fiona texted back before letting out an exasperated sigh. "Can't time go faster!?"
"Patience is a virtue. Ugh, listen to me. I'm starting to sound like the damn therapists in this bitch."
Fiona smirked and was about to reply when the horns in the penitentiary went off indicating it was visitor hours as well as lunch time. "Oh yeah! About time! I can't wait to see you!"
"Same here Babe. See you in a little bit."
Grinning, Fiona slid the phone back under her pillow before sitting up on her cot. She then turned her attention to her cellmate who was sitting on the cot underneath hers - a muscular, brown, female koala. Her left ear was pierced and had a silver loop earring and a heart tattoo on her left bicep.
"Abby?" Fiona called out, leaping down from her cot and looking at her cellmate.
Hearing her name, the koala looked at Fiona, acknowledging her while lifting a dumbbell, using it to work out while Fiona was talking to Scourge.
"It's visiting time," the vixen said, a glint in her eye. "I get to see my bad boy!"
Abby did a few more lifts before displaying her strength and tossing the dumbbell to the other side of the cell. "So, talking to Snot again huh?"
Fiona rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest. "Seriously, why do you call him that?"
A smirk appeared on Abby's face as she stood up, stretching out her muscles. "Heh, why not? Fitting nickname. Especially considering he's green."
Fiona shook her head before seeing the gate to the cell open up. "Come on, let's go."
The two females exited their cell, as did the other females in their section of the penitentiary. As they began to converse with one and head towards the cafeteria and visitation rooms, some of them noticed Fiona and murmurs amongst them began.
"You know, I still don't get it. Why did she betray the Freedom Fighters?"
"I don't know, some are just flat out crazy!"
"Hey hold up! How many of us are in here because of those damn Freedom Fighters?"
"I would've jumped at the chance to try and kill them too!"
Fiona's smirk grew as she listened to the inmates. Ever since arriving at the penitentiary, and the circumstances for her being there, her notoriety had reached new levels and for as long as she had been there, not a day had gone by when she didn't hear others, be they inmates or the guards, talking about what she and Scourge did. Eventually, she and Abby made their way to the visitation room where the inmates were allowed to see their family and friends as well as the male inmates.
"Same old, same old," Abby said with a scoff, looking around. "Well, when you've been here thirty years like me, this becomes second nature."
Fiona looked around and her eyes soon fell on a familiar green hedgehog wearing the same orange outfit all the other inmates were wearing. Her smirk growing, she ran towards him. Seeing his lover approaching him, Scourge grinned and opened his arms to her. Fiona jumped into his arms, wrapped hers around his neck and hugged him close.
"My bad boy!" the vixen said happily.
"Heh, hey Babe," Scourge chuckled as he hugged her back.
Fiona snuggled more into the hedgehog. "Oh Baby, I missed you!"
Grinning, Scourge held her by one of her hands, stepping from the hug and holding her hand up, twirling her around once and admiring every inch of her body. "Missed your fine and sexy ass too."
Fiona giggled before giving Scourge a kiss on his cheek. "How're you getting on Baby?"
"All good on my end," the green hedgehog answered. "And you?"
"All good, yet the same as always," said Fiona.
It was then that Scourge noticed Abby and rolled his eyes. Seeing the hedgehog's reaction to her, Abby couldn't help but smirk.
"Well, look whose here," the koala said, finding humor in the hedgehog's demeanor towards her.
Scourge scratched behind his ear and began to look around. "What's the buzzing sound? Must be a gnat or something."
"Hmm, a comedian huh?" the koala asked, the same expression on her face.
Fiona narrowed her eyes at Abby before looking to her lover. "Just ignore her Baby."
"Believe me, I'm trying to," the hedgehog responded.
Abby snickered at Scourge before giving a nod of the head to Fiona and walking away from the couple.
"Good fucking riddance," Scourge spat.
Fiona shook her head as she watched her cellmate leave. "Sorry about her Baby."
"Pssh, it's whatever," said Scourge. "Don't worry about it."
Fiona wrapped her arms around his waist and leaned into him.
"Heh, looks like someone really missed me," the hedgehog said smugly.
"Oh Baby, I sure did," the vixen said in a sensual voice as she gave him a flirty look and slowly zipped down the front of her jumpsuit, giving him a glance of her ample cleavage and smirking as she saw the look on his face. "Like what you see?"
"Heh, you know I do," Scourge replied, involuntarily licking his lips. "Just might have some business to take care of later."
"I'm looking forward to it," Fiona said, winking at him.
"Until then, let's go see if any of the boys are here to see us, huh?" Scourge suggested.
Fiona nodded her head. "Yeah, let's."
Looping her arm with Scourge's, Fiona joined him in walking the area, watching all of the inmates conversing with family and friends who had come to visit them.
"Big crowd," Fiona commented.
Scourge nodded his head in response before looking and seeing a familiar face sitting at a lone table. "There we go."
Fiona followed his gaze and saw a sharply dressed male blue hawk with sunglasses on over his eyes, narrowing hers as she recognized who it was. "Predator Hawk."
"Yeah," said Scourge as he scoffed a bit. "Look at him, looking like he's literally made of new money."
"Seems like it," said Fiona, frowning. "Just like that blue showoff."
Scourge could sense her beginning to fume and he kissed her head in an attempt to keep her calm. "C'mon. Let's go."
Fiona nodded and the two of them made their way over to the table Predator was seated at. As they did, they head some of the other inmates and their visitors speaking about them under their breaths.
"Someone actually came to see them?"
"Maybe they're in talks of getting out early."
"After what they pulled? No way in hell they're ever getting out of here."
Predator looked up from his seat and saw Scourge and Fiona before him.
"Predator," Fiona said, acknowledging him.
"Well, look who it is," said the hawk.
"Can't say the same about you," Scourge spat. "Finally decided to show up and pay us a visit, huh?"
"What took you so long?" Fiona added.
Predator sat back in his seat, keeping the same calm demeanor. "Hard to find the time."
"Yeah, we happened to hear through the grapevine about that," said Scourge as a frown appeared on his face and he had a seat at one of the chairs at the table, Fiona sitting on his lap. "Big shot with that business you got going on. A consulting firm, was it?"
Fiona nodded in agreement. "There you are living it up whilst we're stuck in this dump."
Predator remained silent as he looked at his former Destructix teammates.
"Five years," Scourge continued. "That's how long it took for you or anyone else for that matter to swing by. What? Life's treating you so good that you don't have time for old friends?"
Predator removed his sunglasses and cleaned them with a piece of clothes he pulled out from his inner suit pocket. "A lot changed since that day you two hauled off and pulled that stunt you did."
"So, we decided to cause a little destruction," Fiona said, shrugging her shoulders. "So what?"
"As much as you both love chaos, what did you expect would happen?" Predator asked. "An assassination in broad daylight on members of the royal family?"
Fiona looked at Scourge. "Well, not exactly. Just scare the pants off them and maybe draw a little blood. Right Babe?"
Scourge nodded. "And if a little murder happened on the side? Hey, whatever happens happened."
Predator narrowed his eyes. "You see, that's the kind of thinking why me and the others wanted nothing to do with your plan."
"Yeah," Scourge scoffed. "The rest of you lot wanted out. But it's alright. didn't surprise either of us at all."
Fiona nodded in agreement.
"In any case," Scourge continued, deciding to change the subject. "It looks like you've been living it up in the five years since."
"As I said, things changed ever since the Destructix disbanded and we went our separate ways," said Predator.
Fiona raised an eyebrow. "What happened to the others?"
Predator looked to the vixen, slightly puzzled. "What do you want to know for?"
Scourge shrugged. "Curious, if nothing else."
Predator was silent for a few seconds before beginning to speak in a hushed voice. "Well, I have kept in touch with the others since the disbandment of the group, at least the ones I can."
"Oh?" Fiona asked. "And?"
"For starters," Predator continued. "Drago went back to the Wolf Pack Nation?"
Scourge and Fiona's eyes widened.
"Whoa whoa, hold the hell up," said the hedgehog. "He did what?"
"He went back!?" Fiona exclaimed. "No way!"
Predator nodded. "It's true."
Scourge was in disbelief, looking at the hawk with an incredulous look on his face. "How the fuck did they let him back in after what he did?"
"Apparently he's back under the stipulation of an old custom of theirs," said Predator.
"Is he really?" Fiona asked.
Predator nodded once more. "If he betrays them again, its punishable by death."
"Wow," said Fiona. "Wouldn't want to be in his shoes."
"Shit, who would want to?" Scourge added.
Predator silently agreed with his former teammates before continuing. "And as for Sleuth, he opened up a strip club."
Fiona rolled her eyes. "Why am I not surprised?"
"True," said Predator. "And he's making quite a bit of loot from it. You know he was always about making money."
Fiona nodded. "We all knew that."
Scourge shrugged. "Whatever works for him."
"And let's see..." Predator continued. "Lightning, he returned to the Raiju Clan."
"Did he?" Fiona asked.
Scourge's eye twitched a bit. "Man, what the fuck is it with these guys going back to the dumps they came from?"
"Nowhere else to go, I guess," said Fiona.
"It's possible," said Predator before letting out a deep breath. "And then there's Flying..."
"Yeah? Go on," Scourge coaxed.
Predator sat back in his seat and crossed his arms over his chest. "Fool found himself locked up in Mobotropolis Asylum."
"Hmm, not surprised that loose cannon ended up there," said Scourge.
"Totally!" Fiona agreed.
"Don't know the details of it all because of where he's at," Predator continued. "But I'm sure he's a handful."
"I don't doubt it," said Fiona.
"And then Simian," said Predator before pausing.
"Yeah?" said Scourge curiously.
Fiona crossed her arms and leaned into the hedgehog as she listened.
"It would seem he found a place where his military background would be put to good use," said Predator.
"Really? How?" Fiona asked.
"He became a part of GUN," Predator answered.
"What!?" Scourge exclaimed under his breath.
"He did not!" Fiona said in disbelief.
Predator nodded. "Indeed, he did."
Scourge was nearly beside himself at what he just heard. "You've got to be motherfucking joking!"
"He decided to join that bunch of military morons!?" Fiona exclaimed. "And with Shadow and Rouge!?"
Predator once again responded with a silent nod.
Scourge clenched his fist and grinded his teeth. "This is some straight bullshit!"
"Why the hell did he choose to join them of all people!?" Fiona asked out loud.
Predator shrugged his shoulders. "I couldn't begin to tell you. And hey, you both wanted to know what happened to everyone."
"True," said Fiona. "But I'm not gonna sit here and act like it isn't shocking!"
Scourge was silent for a bit longer before unclenching his fist and sitting back more in his seat, wrapping an arm around Fiona's waist. "You know what? It doesn't even matter anymore."
Fiona and Predator both looked at Scourge, surprise written on both of their faces at the hedgehog's words.
"Baby?" Fiona asked.
"Let 'em do what they want," said Scourge. "I mean hey, we're locked up in here for life, right? So, what's it matter to us what they do?"
Fiona couldn't help but sigh. "You got a point. Still can't help but feel betrayed, after all we went through with those guys."
"Them's the breaks," Scourge responded.
Fiona was silent for a moment before nodding, but with a glare on her face.
"If I were you both, I wouldn't expect to see any of them come see you," said Predator.
"Hmph!" Fiona said in a huff as she leaned more into Scourge. "Wouldn't want to see any of those fucks now anyways, especially after what you told us!"
Scourge gave Fiona a kiss on her neck before leaning back in his seat. "Yeah, definitely..."
As Fiona and Predator continued to chat with one another, Scourge leaned his head back on the chair, looking up at the ceiling and becoming lost in thought. Replaying everything Predator had said in his head, the hedgehog couldn't help but find humor in it all. 'Those clowns really went back to the shitholes they came from. Man, that's crazy. And Simian, joining up with those shit-stains in GUN? What a damn joke. Couldn't be me joining up with those fucks.'
Slightly shifting his head back to his former Destructix teammate and girlfriend conversing with one another, the hedgehog mentally shrugged, realizing that there's no use complaining or stressing about something that nothing could be done about.
