"Right then, so it looks like I'm a little earlier than I expected." Trunks mused for a moment after I told him the year. He told me that it was part of his "Mission" to beat someone that was going to show up soon. I tried to pry more information out of him, but he didn't budge much. But I did get him to agree to my escorting him to Capsule Corp. It was a train ride through the city to get there, and taking the Egg would have caused panic. With not very many options, I was now sitting in our relatively unoccupied train car, watching Trunks pace back and forth, like he was in a hurry.
"We'll get there when we get there you know? Not used to waiting around?" I leaned back in my seat, trying to be the picture of cool. He may have money, but this guy was far from relaxed.
"Not exactly. I guess I'm just cramped in here." He sighed, looking over at me,
"You're… cramped? You do realize we have nearly the whole train car to ourselves, right? Minus that guy sleeping, naturally. That thing you were driving earlier doesn't seem like it has a lot of room, either."
"Oh that's because I was only in it for a few se-" He cut himself off, trying not to divulge his secrets. He was incredibly bad at it. Cutting me a sharp look when i started giggling at his expense, he continued.
"Once I rendezvous with my contact. Then, I'll compensate you and move on. If you can, I'd like you to forget what you've seen here today."
I huffed, standing right in front of him and crossing my arms to form an X. "BZZT! No shot! You're the most interesting thing that has happened in a long time. It may be a little forward, but you'll have to try a little better than that to get rid of me."
"I don't think you understand, things will get dangerous! You might die!"
"I'd rather die than not live. Trust me, you won't regret having me around. If it's a fight you're alluding to, I can hold my own,"
He clicked his tongue, looking away. "Fine. Just don't get in the way, okay?"
I stood at attention, slapping my hand up to my forehead in a mock-salute. "Sir, yes Sir!"
He didn't get the joke.
