Chapter 47
Rosinante scowled. All the ships for the Buster Call had already destroyed Enies Lobby. It was only the Bridge of Hesitation left. The Straw Hats and some of the Heart Pirates were surrounded by ten battleships. Most of Rosinante's men were down unfortunately, but he was still working on recapturing Law.
"All hands prepare for battle! Capture Nico Robin and Trafalgar Law!"
The Heart Pirates were mostly back on their ship underneath the waves. Law had teleported most of them there the moment the battleships began to head their way. Now Law was panting, almost on his hands and knees, while Penguin and Bepo stood at his side, ready to fight.
Rosinante frowned. "Law, it's over. I can have your crew mates spared if you come to me right now."
"Don't you dare, Law!" Penguin snapped.
Law groaned. "I regret coming to Water 7 so much."
"YEAH I DO TOO!" Penguin screeched.
Hundreds of Marines poured from the ships.
Rosinante frowned and aimed his gun at Law. "Last chance, Law," he warned.
"Room!"
That answered that question then. Rosinante fired the seastone bullet, but Law swapped himself out with a marine. It hit a Marine Captain instead, sinking deep into his shoulder where Law's had been seconds ago. Rosinante scowled, but followed after him. Law was going to get himself killed in this damn Buster Call if he didn't stop running!
It only got worse after Lucci was defeated by Straw Hat Luffy. The Marines started exploding the bridge, right up to the second column. The good news is that it trapped the Straw Hats and Hearts, but now they were planning to shoot the first column.
It would be the end of Luffy for good this time. Fuck, poor Garp, he was going to be devastated.
.::.
"Fuck, just throw him into the sea, Nico-ya! One of your swimmers can catch him, can't they?" Law yelled, then winced as one of Rosinante's seastone bullet's clipped his shoulder. "Fuck! Rosinante, you're being a pain right now!"
"I'm being a pain? You're the one running all over the place!"
"Then stop chasing me!"
"No! I'm trying to capture you!"
"I don't want to be captured!"
"Do you two always argue like this?" Penguin groaned.
"JUMP INTO THE SEA!" Usopp screamed.
"What the-" Penguin startled.
Law cursed. "Contact the Polar Tang, get her above water now, Bepo!"
"Aye, aye!"
"Usopp, getting desperate won't save us now!" Zoro scolded.
"She came to save us!" Usopp yelled.
She? Law frowned.
"We've got one more friend!" Usopp screamed.
"Into the sea!" Sanji yelled.
"Into the sea!" Nami cheered.
"Why?" Penguin screeched.
"FOLLOW LUFFY!" Usopp threw himself off the ledge.
"WHY?!" Penguin screamed.
"Fuck it, just do it!" Law ordered.
"Law, don't you dare! You'll drown!" Rosinante yelled.
Not with his crew at his back. They wouldn't let him in a million years.
"The Going Merry-" Shachi gasped on the den den mushi.
Shit, Law understood now. She was here to save the Straw Hats. Law ran and threw himself off the ledge, Bepo and Penguin right beside him. He heard Rosinante scream. Bepo grabbed him and held him tight as they hit the water. The Polar Tang scooped them up from below, while the Straw Hats climbed aboard the Going Merry. Law smirked and look above him, seeing Rosinante's figure standing at the top of the column.
"See you later, Cora-san!" Law yelled, smirking. "I love you!"
"Damn you!" Rosinante cursed, sobbing. "I love you too!"
"Law, you troll, you knew that would make him cry," Penguin snorted. "C'mon, let's get inside."
"Right." Law nodded. He did glance back to make sure Luffy had boarded his ship, then headed into his own with Bepo and Penguin.
"Prepare to set sail!" Law ordered. "Get back under the sea. We don't want to Marines following us."
"Aye, aye, Captain!" Bepo cheered.
"And thank you all for coming to save me," Law said softly, then scowled. "But don't put yourselves at risk like that again! We're not crazy dumbasses like the Straw Hats!"
"Yeah, but their craziness managed to get us here," Ikkaku laughed. "So I'm not complaining, Captain."
Law snorted. "Of course not."
"Are we heading back to Water 7?" Penguin asked.
"Hell no."
Shachi cackled. "Had enough of it?"
"Yes. I've had more than enough of that hellhole. Paulie got out of Enies Lobby, and Iceburg survived his assassination, so that is more than enough for me," Law said.
"You heard the Captain. Let's move on to our next adventure," Penguin said.
"Hopefully somewhere quiet," Law sighed. "I don't think I can take another stress filled day."
.::.
Rouge sighed. "So you and Shanks fought? Edward Newgate, YOU DUMBASS! WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO STUBBORN! HE'S ONE OF YOUR ALLIES, YOU IDIOT!"
"The brat was trying to control the way things happen on my ship!"
"YOU AND I BOTH KNOW THAT ISN'T THE CASE!"
"I'm protecting Thatch! Nobody outside of our crew knows that Thatch left on his own accord, and I'm keeping it that way."
"You stubborn fools!" Rouge snarled.
"Where are you now, Rouge?"
"We're just about to head into Banaro Island," Rouge said. "We're running a bit behind, but I had to stop when I saw Luffy's poster update and the newspaper that came with it. I thought I had died, even though I'm already dead. Rahahahaha!"
"The reckless brat. He's even worse than Ace. I can't believe he invaded Enies Lobby."
Rouge chuckled. "He is, ain't he? He's a fucking mini Roger for sure."
"And how about Thatch? Is he still not going to call home?"
"He's too embarrassed with the way he walked out," Rouge sighed.
"That moron."
"I know right?" Rouge huffed.
"I'm right here!" Thatch protested, cheeks flushed.
They were cramped together on the Striker, Thatch sitting right next to her.
"Then talk to your dad!" Rouge held out the den den mushi.
Thatch's flush darkened.
"See? Still embarrassed. He's blushing," Rouge teased.
"Guarararara, I'm glad to at least hear your voice, Thatch."
Thatch's face fell and he took the den den mushi speaker. "Hey, Pops."
Rouge smiled.
"Hello Thatch. How have you been doing?"
"Still searching-"
"That isn't what I asked, son. Are you doing alright?"
Thatch sighed heavily. "I miss you all so much, Pops."
"We miss you too."
"But I'm still not coming back without Ace," Thatch said firmly, his eyes darkening. "I'll even make a vow to Davy Jones and take on his black mark if I have to."
The den den mushi paled. "Thatch, you reckless brat-"
"I will not let that bastard keep my little brother, nor any member of my family," Thatch said sharply.
"And I thought Ace was bad," Rouge muttered.
"Thatch was always worse once his temper was ignited," Eddy sighed. "When I get my hands on you I'm going to strangle you for being an idiot, my son."
Thatch grinned. "Love you too, Pops."
"Love you too, brat. We're sailing out by the way."
"You are?" Thatch startled.
"We're heading to Fishman Island now."
"Oi, Thatch, we're about to land," Rouge said softly, her brow furrowed. "And I see a lot of dark smoke. Something has been on fire here."
Thatch frowned, following her gaze. "Yeah, did a village catch on fire?"
"What's wrong?" Eddy asked.
"There might have been a fire on this island. We'll go check it out," Thatch said. "I'll see you later, Pops, and maybe with Ace in tow if we're lucky."
"Good luck, son, and make sure you come home."
Thatch grinned. "Sounds like a good plan."
He hung up the snail.
"I noticed you didn't promise him that you'd come home," Rouge said.
"Yeah..." Thatch sighed.
"Remember, our best bet is the spy on Teach first," Rouge said. "I'm not at my full strength yet, even if I have an emergency magic supply prepared."
"We have three charms left," Thatch said. "No dials. Two healing potions, one invisibility, one shield and your storm potion."
"We're running down on supplies fast," Rouge sighed. "Water 7 is close by. Perhaps I should go visit their witch shop and get some more."
"Let's go after Banaro Island then."
They ended up splitting up. Rouge went round towards the back of the village, while Thatch went to the front. The town was a wreck. The buildings destroyed, and Rouge could see bodies lying in the streets.
"Zehahahahaha!"
Rouge's blood ran cold.
She jumped up the rooftops of the building and went straight to the highest one. Rouge pulled out her telescope and searched the area, and scowled.
Teach was here with all his men, and Ace. Ace was sitting beside Teach as he read a newspaper article. The one about Luffy.
Rouge pulled out her den den mushi and called Eddy immediately.
"Rouge, what's wrong? Is the fire bad-"
"Shh," Rouge hushed. "Keep your voice down," she whispered. "We found Teach, he's in Banaro Island. Fuckers are raiding it."
He was here with Ace. Shit, hopefully Thatch was hiding out too now and not wandering around. Hopefully he knew Teach was here and had backed off a bit. This wasn't good. This wasn't good at all.
Rouge bit her thumb and began her ritual circle. She needed that emergency magic now.
