Nymphadora Black was sitting outside the screened area of Harry's bed, think how her life changed in matters of few weeks. About events that led her to this very moment where she is currently sitting in Hogwarts guarding her future husband who risked his life for a girl who will possibly be her sister wife
She was remember how it all started from her mom telling her about a contract
Few Weeks ago, Tonks Household
She was a junior Auror so they as others of her rank she was mostly assigned patrolling for Diagon alley. It was most boring job at the least according to her in the world! Alley was quite a safe space, not without some instances of theft, but other then that relatively quit, she was not one to looking for danger still had a side of that craved action.
That day was pretty boring as usual and at the end of her shift she made her way home where she saw something that she haven't seen since she told her mom that she wants to be an Auror which she did not agree with, her mom was sitting on the couch and sipping tea. Which was a sign that something was troubling her which made Dora remember every mistake she ever made, she was nervous what her mom caught her this time for, building up the courage she entered the living room.
"Wotcher Mum!" in fake enthusiastic voice and she also startled her mother who jumped a little spilling her tea a little, calming down and catching her breath she growled at her saying "Dora! Do not scare me like that Young Lady!" Dora chuckled saying "Sorry Mum, didn't mean to scare you!" Andi replied "Thats fine, I need to talk to you about something so go have a shower, I will set the table"
At this she asked "is it related to my superior calling me Black and not Tonks?" Andi simply nodded and saying "it is now go I will tell you everything once you come back clean"
And so she went to her room curious about what her mother wants discuss, went to shower changed in record time of 20 minutes and came to the back for dinner seating across the table from her mother
"Mum what is it? Just tell me" she said as she was tired of waiting. Andi then asked "Dora do you remember Harry?" at this she was stunned as to what her mum was asking her. Of course she remembered Harry he was her favorite person and her first friend in the world, he was one she loved the most and when he was taken away she went in depression that took several years to recover from she tried to forget him every now an then she was reminded of him for one reason or another apart from him his mum, Lily was her second favorite cause she always was one person who called her by her name and she never felt bad about it
"Dora?" her mum's voice broke her out of her nostalgia, she answered in meek voice "Umm, yes mum I remember him, like I could ever forget my Harr- Bear" at this her mum smiled and said "well that makes this somewhat easy" she paused and continued "Dora you see Sirius came over today in the morning and he took us back into the Black family" at this Dora said "well that answers my question about name change but I have a feeling something else is there."
Andi nodded saying "You see there is a marriage contract between House Black and House Potter, it was made your great grandfather Arcturus Black and Charlus Potter" taking a deep breath she continued "It is to marry eldest and youngest daughter if House Black to Heir of House Potter, which means my sisters Bellatrix Black and Narcissa Black were to marry Harry but as Narcissa is a Married witch. As you are youngest of daughter of House Black you are to marry Harry Potter, by the time he is of age in eyes of magic and contract is binding so if you don't you will forfeit your life and magic" this made Dora look like she was hit by a stunner
"But how? you were cast out from the family by Walburgha for marrying Dad so how can it apply to me as you are no longer a Black" Dora questioned. Andi smiled saying "Dear I was cast out by the Walburgha but she was not Lady Black at that time it was still my grandmother Melania. So you see though she through me out and blasted me of the family tapestry I was not casted out by both formal and magical means. And so I am Black and so are you it was just matter for us to given right to use our last name which Sirius did" Dora sat there shocked out of her mind
She was quit for few minutes try to make sense of what she just hear before saying "you mean I am to marry Harry and my sister wife is my aunt who is a criminal sitting in Azkaban, convicted to so many crimes that cannot be counted and also known as most loyal follower of you-know-who?" at this Andi shook her head and said "yes you are to marry him with your aunt but the part were she is a criminal that is wrong as she was never in control of her actions since she was 16, as her marriage with Lestrange bind her will and view to his, so no you are marrying Harry with a women who suffered a marriage that was a slave contact in disguise" again Dora was stunned
She then said "but this is not fair, Aunt Bella if she is innocent and that a huge 'If' cause she would go from one horrible marriage to another and oh Merlin Harry will never have a chance to find someone he love without any obligation, mum its to fair to him at all!" in anger and concern. Andi said sighing "Dora do you know aside from you, me and Sirius there was one more rouge in the Black Family, I will give you a guess" Dora thought for a moment before saying "Aunt Bella?" her eyes wide with surprise. Andi nodded continuing "yes Bella was the most powerful witch of our generation but there was other who was only one to best her every time in a duel, take a guess?"
Dora thought and thought hard but couldn't thinks of anyone who can best Bellatrix so shook her head, Andi said "It was your second favorite person Dora, Lily Potter" at his Dora's eyes widened he mum continued "you see it is well known fact that Bellatrix is most dangerous witch, but its a lie as she maybe dangerous to normal people but compared to Lily she was nothing, there is also a fact that she was Lily's best friend which was only known to me Sirius, James and one of their other friend whose name I think was Remus, anyway she was there Harry was born and in-fact she was first one to take him after Lily, she so taken by Harry that she announced she was going to marry him" Andi chuckled wiping a tear from her eyes said "so you see Dora you are second black women that little guy enchanted as first one was Bella, her heart was set on him and I know for a fact that she will be happy to marry him at any point of life"
After this there was only one question in her head which she asked "mum I don't even know him and I don't think he remembers me beside I am not sure if he will love me" with worried eyes. Andi smiled saying "Dora, this is easily fixed as Sirius came to conclusion to give Harry some time before he tells him about all this so he will tell him at Christmas, till then try and get to know him also be ready to accept one or more person in this marriage as he is still to take his Heritage and Inheritance test which will also be in holiday time" after that the night was pretty quit as she thought about everything she learned from her mother and decided to go with flow and started to think how she can get to know Harry, also if she loved him will she be able to share him?
Present day, Hogwarts
After that day she was in a constant state of whirlwind both emotional and mental. She was unable to focus on her work resulting her being injured twice in the alley and loosing 3 robbers. She almost injured an bystander while apprehending a black market dealer. She was in over her head and an out right mess.
Her mind wouldn't shut up much to her annoyance. The result of all this was she was called by her Boss for a meeting.
Past, Director of DMLE Office
Amelia Bones, Director of Department of magical law enforcement and youngest to be appointed at her position but was nothing if not dedicated towards her work, her work was her life aside from her niece Susan, there was no one she cared for she never met a man that could steal her heart and she did not have luxury trying to find love.
For now she was sitting in her office with a splitting headache and cause of this headache was one of her Junior Auror who was distracted by something and she can't afford that, it's was than that there was a knock on her door she flicked her wand and unlocked it saying " Come in"
Dora entered the room with her signature bubbly grin and cheerful persona saying "Wotcher! Boss" and came to the table at this Amelia said "Auror Black, take a seat" and so she did asking "so what is about Boss?" at this Amelia sighed
"This is about how you have been distracted these past few weeks" at this Dora said frowning "Umm, I am not comfortable discussing it its personal things boss" Amelia rubbing bridge between eyes said "This is not a offical meeting, Tonks I have done this many time and I have many secrets, I will keep yours too, so you can share anything with me" with a smirk on her face
At this Dora smirked "Well Amelia" at this Amelia raised one eyebrow "Oh come on If this is not official I can call you by your name, any way I have a marriage contract" at this Amelia made a face of glee and amusement and asked "Oo! Who is it?" at this Dora was shocked seeing this gossip loving side of her boss and said "I am betrothed to marry Harry Potter"
Hearing the name of Dora's intended her eyes went wide and she asked "You mean you are to marry Harry Potter, as in the boy who is in same year as my niece?" Dora nodding said "Yes the one and only, that is what's been on my mind as I don't even know him" she said last part in small voice
Amelia smiled and said "Tonks, I can't advice you in romance department but I can tell you somewhat about Harry as he is in same as year my niece who writes about him to alot" at this Nymphadora raised her eyebrow at which Amelia chuckled and said "don't worry I think its normal as every witch her age is practically drooling for him, so according to her he is shy quite and keeps to himself, but is brave and loyal to his friend also have multiple times stood up for those in need, he has two best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger who is muggleborn" she ended
Hearing that he was shy and quit raised multiple red flags in her head as she remembered that he was more of happy and jolly baby, much like his parents but she kept this unease feeling hidden and said "Thanks Boss I appreciate this, I will try and keep my mind on the work"
Amelia smiled "Look Black I don't have much experience in romance but I can only advice you to let the time run its course. You can't control what is going to happen and you certainly can't control how anyone reacts to such things. But only thing you can do is focus on what you can control. So stop worrying about something that you can't control and get your crap together!" last line in more authoritative voice.
Dora sighed she knew that it was right and her being worried would amount to nothing but it was not easy to calm down after all it is a huge deal. So she could only try to calm down and pray that with time it would all be fine, taking a deep breath and standing up with determination on her face she said "I will try my best Boss and then some"
Amelia gave a stiff nod saying "I expect you to Auror To- err- Black you show promise and I have faith that you will make Senior Auror in near future. Now off you go!" with that she returned to her paperwork and Dora took her leave.
Present, Hogwarts
After that day that she was somewhat normal and tried to focus on her work and not worry about Harry and contract, but this resulted in life threatening situation but was lucky to be saved by something that she now knew it was her intended, which was last night.
Night of Cup, Diagon Alley
Dora was on a night shift this time in a week the boring job that she thought she had was now tiring as she was constantly chasing and fighting of goons and some of them were more trained to be simple goons she was not able to put her finger but something was wrong as the crime rate was increasing though it was a gradual increase it was increase none the less.
Tonight she was on a similar Patrolling path when she heard some commotion coming from the narrow alley on the corner ahead she drew her wand from her wrist holster and headed towards the alley
As she turned around the corner she saw two wizard were attacking a elderly who looked like was not a able to do anything but keep his shield up which was also weakening under the barrage of constant spell fire, she sprung to action she yelled "incarcerous!" casting it she tripped on a near by trashcan
Her aim was off due to her tripping and alerted the man it was targeted toward soon both men started throwing all kind of curses. She was able to put shield up in time to protect her form a bludgenor. In return fire she casted a chain of spell "Stupefy! Reducto! Expelliarmus! Incarcerous! Stupefy!"
The goons were no simple goons as they fought like trained duelists and good ones while they were at it. Still Dora stood her ground giving the elderly wizard a window to escape. Soon it came down to lethal curses like blood-boiling and bone breaking curse, suddenly she was hit with a double cutting curses on right shoulder which were then followed by a stunner and bone breaker which hit her on the shoulder of her wand arm which was also right one the pain made her scream in agony, through the blurry eyes she saw a ominous dark crimson curse toward her she was not going to give up so she tried to get her arm up to erect a shield but she couldn't.
But then suddenly the whole alley was lit up by the wave of pure magic suddenly the curse heading towards her dissipated as the wave washed over her she felt a incredibly warm and safe, she then saw the men she was fighting were knocked out by the same wave she was confused but grateful none the less as what ever it was it saved her life thats when she saw a ethereal lynx with message from her superior officer "Attack world cup report to HQ now"
Present Day, Hogwarts
That's how she got to campsite and when she heard Harry was missing her heart sank and even more when Harry's bushy haired friend said that she heard him scream, it was then that Amelia tasked her to search for him in the forest and when she found him she was worried for his life so much so that she snapped at everyone and made them hurry, that lead to this moment were she was sitting outside the screened area of Harry's bedside and chuckled how he remembered her by the name he used to call her form back when he used to try and suck her breast when she was a baby
Her injury on the right shoulder was healed by healers at the campsite just before Harry was transfered to Hogwarts
She was with him all night and heard what happened last night she was in tears on how much pain he endured to save Fleur and also saving her by the shock wave, now she saw as Fleur left for lunch and went to his beside quickly taking his hand into her own and said "I know you love her and I am willing to share but you only three not anymore you cheeky bugger" at this she felt his grip tighten around her as if he was reassuring her "I Know Harr-Bear, now sleep I am here for you" she kissed back of his hand and ended with "Always!"
24th August, Hogwarts Infirmary
Harry has been unconscious for three weeks and for those three weeks Fleur was with him all day aside from going for lunch and dinner, when she was away it was Dora was there by his side
In those some weeks Fleur and Dora has become close friends it was born out of boredom, both of them find multiple things as a veela understood Metamorph's plight on how people only saw her for her abilities and Metamorph understood burdens that veela carried with her beauty
Mostly they would talk about their lives till now and how they thought it would be in the future, it was surreal for Fleur that she had a girl who was able to understand her and was honest to her, she found the girl was little to bubbly and energetic which was contrast to her more clam and regal nature but was happy to have someone with her
It was afternoon and both of them were sitting either side of Harry's bed, Fleur was holding his hand her fingers interlaced with his a feeling of warm she had gotten used too, Dora was doing same but was being discreet as she didn't want to give Fleur wrong idea before right time
Fleur who was lost in her thoughts asked absentmindedly " 'ave you ever been in love before Tonks?" while looking at Harry's face, Dora said "No, Fleur I have not but I hope someday….." She trailed off looking at Harry
Fleur hearing her asked "How do you know if you love someone Tonks?" still looking at Harry, Dora "I don't think when you do, its only after that you realize" she too was looking at Harry
Fleur in same position asked "I asked because I am not sure what to make of my feelings right now, I don't know why 'e did what 'e did maybe 'e is too noble? And if 'e is such a noble idiot why do I have this feeling zat tells me zat 'e loves me?" hearing her question Dora chuckled thinking the girl was asking her what she has been asking herself for a while, she said "You know Fleur, my mum always told me that some times, matters of heart are best left to time. She says no matter how much you ponder, the answer will show itself only when time is right and then you will have a choice either to accept the answer or ignore it, accepting it is right thing to do but it is also hard, if you ignore it you might regret on what you could have had only if you chose the right was, wait for that moment Fleur then make your choice" gesture toward Harry with her eyes. As she revised her mothers advice which she was given her Brutal break up with Charlie Weasley she took it to heart once again trying to apply same advice on herself once more.
"But what if I choose wrong what if I took easy paz and zen regret over it would I get another chance to fix what I break?" Fleur asked almost pleading, listening to her question Dora sighed saying "Fleur if you do take easy path the road to right one is open only if you realize it early enough cause as life moves on it becomes harder to turn back, also it depends on the person whom you chose to leave because Fleur, I have seen what a broken Heart does to people and also to those who break those heart, its not a pretty picture"
Fleur's eyes widened as she realized implications of what Dora just said. She was not a coward she would never run away from situation but she was afraid how can she ever live with herself knowing she broke heart of first person she ever met who treated her not only normally but also was cared about her to greatest extents. She was now clear in one thing that she had feelings for him but also knew that it was too early to give those feelings a name, that was her mind, in deepest corner of her beating heart she knew she already was in love with him and only needed time to accept it
Seeing that the internal struggle of her future sister wife was coming to an end Dora asked "So what is it right or easy?" bracing herself and taking a deep breath Fleur replied "Right!" with a bright smile. Saying that she felt a shiver run down her spine as the warmth in her suddenly flared up and went stable, this also made her moan a little which earned her a questioning look from her new friend she to which she didn't say anything and blushed till she was cherry red at which Dora laughed
Just then a eagle which Fleur recognized was he fathers familiar, Apollo, landed on the side table nest to Fleur and had a two letters for her one was her letter from school, another was from her parents, she took it and opened it
Dear Flower,
It pains me to separate you from your First friend but dear it is time to come home as your last year will start in a week and we still need to go shopping for supplies. I know dear you want to be with him and you will be in a month or so as Madame Maxime has some surprise for you
This letter is a Portkey dear, it will activate tomorrow at 10 in morning

Reading the letter Fleur was saddened as she didn't want to leave Harry but knew it was inevitable, see questioning and concerned look on Nymphadora she said "Its from my parents my school letter arrived I 'ave to go back to France, but I don't want to leave 'Arry and what will 'e think if I leave without even meeting him" she said in sad voice
Dora said "Come on cheer up will ya, its not that you won't see him again and as for thanking him just write a letter which he can read when he wakes up" Fleur nodded saying "I know I will be 'ere after completing my year but its too long for me to wait to see him again", Dora gave a knowing grin and said "trust me it won't be that long" irritated by positive attitude she snapped "you don't know that" ant this Dora still grinning said "oh I know, just trust me" at this Fleur was curious but let it go as she wanted to spend remainder of her time with Harry so she was there all of the remaining day and even slept at his side only parting from him to freshen up and go for breakfast
Soon it was half past nine so she just sat beside him hold his hand trying to remember his touch and warmth before it was time
Soon it was only 5 minutes to Portkey activation she bent over his head and with tears in her eyes she kissed his cheek while cupping another one stood up and turned to leave only to feel a tug which was his grip tightening around her hand, she once again bent over his face and whispered lightly "I am not leaving you for ever 'Arry, I will be back soon mon Amour!" with that she felt his grip relaxing, she kissed him again on the cheek and left holding the letter as the clock hand reached 10, Fleur vanished in thin air with hopes of meeting the person who became so much to in such short time again in short time.
