Coming down the dorm stairs Harry was a bundle of nerves cause today waa 24th of June, day of Final task. Around half past 12 almost lunch time today all classes were canceled
Entering the common room he heard a pop and then a shower of red & golden confetti as all his friends cheered "Good luck Harry!". This brought a bright smile on his face as he smiled at them "Aww! Thanks guys you all are the best!"
Twins Smiled starting
"Well, we are…"
"….as you said the best…"
"…..but Harrikins you are…."
"…..Champion of Hogwarts so…."
"…your best of the best…"
"…..Cream of the crop…."
"…..Top of the line…"
Before another one could continue Hermione and Katie stopped them with a 'Silencio!'
He looked at them saying "Thank you in name of magic it's hard to keep tracking who is talking and I would have developed a crick in my neck if it had gone any longer" at this both witches chuckled.
Sighing Hermione nodded saying "I know it gets annoying after a point" she paused shaking her head before continuing "anyways you got a long day ahead of you let's get to some lunch shall we?" everyone nodded and a group of 9 Gryffindor left the common room trudging their way towards the Great Hall.
Reaching the great hall Harry could feel the anticipation and excitement in the air. The journey to the hall was surprising as all the students who before hated him and thought he cheated to get his name in the goblet suddenly wished him good luck.
This was nothing new to him as he went through the same thing in the second year so he knew better than trust in the people who are two-faced.
As he took his seat on the Gryffindor table alongside Daphne she piled up his plate saying "you need to eat now cause later you will be too nervous to eat" he flashed her a smile with a nod.
He didn't want to but what she said was also true he had to eat to survive the task. For the last 20 days, he along with Fleur and Tonks was working on different navigation spells and possibilities of what they could face in the maze.
"Nervous Harry?" Susan asked standing behind him.
Champion turned and gave a weak smile to the redhead witch said "Yeah".
She smiled saying "Don't worry just stay calm and eat for now" sitting beside Daphne.
Harry returned to his meal. As he was eating Harry's eyes drifted off to the head table where Mcgonagall was talking with Flitwick while Trelwaney was sipping of tea? Or something from her goblet. See her, he suddenly remembered his last interaction with the divination professor. His line of thought was intercepted by a sweet sound of " 'ARRY!"
He turned to see Gabby was standing beside him, he smiled seeing the little veela, and asked "Gabby! how are you?"
The excited little Veela said "I am okay Harry! How are you? Are you going to come to France? Are you going to marry Fleur? Oh please if you do then I will have a big brother and then when you have children I will be aunt Gabby! Will you? Please! Please! Please!"
Before Harry could ask her anything across him Hermione sprayed her pumpkin juice on Fred and started laughing.
Harry looked at her questioningly "What is it, Hermione?"
But before she could answer Fleur came at the table calling "Gabby! Mon Dieu, why did you run when I told you to wait?"
Gabby pouted saying "but I wanted to see Harry!" older Delacour sister shook her head.
She took her seat beside him and took Gabby in her lap saying "Okay but next time don't go running off again you scared Maman and Papa, so don't go off again Oui?"
Gabby nodded saying "Oui!"
She turned to Harry saying "Sorry 'Arry if she disturbed you?"
He shook his head saying "no she didn't. She said something in French I couldn't understand her"
The French champion turned to her sister asking "what did you ask Harry, Gabby?"
Gabby smiled innocently saying "I asked him if he would come to France if he would marry you and said that when you have children they will call me Aunt Gabby"
Fleur admonished her "Gabby!" aghast tone, while she was turning bright red hearing her sister, Gabby simply giggled
Seeing this Harry asked in concern "Fleur are you okay you look really red are you okay?"
She shook her head saying "Non, 'Arry I am Okay she was just joking don't mind her" smiling. He nodded and turned to Hermione who was still smiling before returning to his plate.
After eating their lunch Harry said "I need some fresh air so going to the lake for a walk" standing up from the table.
Fleur followed his action saying "I am coming too I need some air too" taking his hand in hers.
Daphne smiled saying "You two go ahead I will be there with Susan in a few minutes"
As the couple made their way to the lake and took seats under their favorite tree. Harry sat with his back resting against the tree with Fleur beside him and her head on his shoulder.
"What will happen after all this is over Fleur? What then? Will you go back to France?" Harry asked staring at the lake.
Fleur looked up smiling answering "Non, I will take the job 'ere and live wiz Bella and ozzers in our home. After everzzing I am not leaving you ever again"
He looked at her in surprise "But Fleur your parents in France I -"
He was cut by a kiss from Fleur who beamed at him saying "I know Mon Cheri, but I decided it when you were unconscious after saving moi. And Maman and Papa are okay with it besides I am an adult witch so I can live where ever I want non?"
Harry simply nodded before adding "I Love You Fleur"
"I love you too 'Arry" Fleur answered as nuzzled into him.
As he was reveling in the serenity of the moment he saw Susan and Daphne coming their way smiling.
As they came closer Harry smiled saying "Now why are both of you standing seat down" but before he could complete Susan took her seat on his empty side while Daphne glared at her to which redhead very maturely sticks her tongue out to her.
Daphne smirked saying "Oh dear Sue I have the best seat in the house" with that she sat in Harry's lap resting her head on his chest to the surprise of the rest three. It was now Susan who glared at her and in turn, it was Daphne who stuck her tongue out. All four of them stayed in that position for nearly 3 hours as all of them dozed off.
Harry opened his eyes and looked at three witches surrounding him and also thought about the other four who he was missing. He looked in the sky only to see sun to it descended very low to the west.
He assumed it was around 4:30 so he first turned to Fleur kissing her on the forehead saying "Wake up love it's almost time we need to get ready"
Fleur lifted her head yawning and stretching. He turned to bundle named Daphne in his lap and kissed the top of her head saying "Wake up Daph it's time we need to start getting ready"
The girl looked up groggily and huffed standing up. Finally, Harry looked at redhead saying "Hey sue wake up Love we need to start getting ready"
The witch in question lifted her head and pecked him on the lips saying "That was the best sleep ever Harry" in a sleepy voice before standing up.
Harry turned to Fleur saying "See you later at Press meet Love" pecking her on the lips.
Fleur smiled saying "Oui, Mon Amour sees you later" she pecked him back and turned towards Carriages.
He turned to Susan and Daphne saying "Ladies shall we go back to the castle?" both of the witches smiled nodding. All three of them made their way to the castle.
As they entered the Gryffindor Common room, Hermione turning to them said "Harry! Where in the merlin's name were you? Professor McGonagall is eating my head off asking where you are or were errr….! Whatever go now and get ready the Press meet is in the Great Hall in 30 minutes!" with that she plopped on the couch.
He smiled and made his way across her room at the couch Hermione saying "Thanks 'Mione and sorry I just needed some calm"
The bushy-haired witch gave him a hard glare for a sec but then her expression turned softer as she said "It's okay, I was only worried about you missing it. Now go and get ready you have to be in the hall soon"
He smiled and made his way to Dorm. Susan and Daphne sat in the Common room. Hermione saw they had well-rested, smirking she asked "So you both were asleep too huh?"
Her question made both witches blush. Susan answered "um ah we couldn't sleep for the last few nights so yes we took a nap" Daphne nodded in agreement.
Daphne sighed saying "Yes we did sleep together and I must say the best nap ever"
Susan smiled adding "Oh best is not enough to describe it".
Hermione smiled saying "Oh you are so smitten both of you" before any response all three turned to see Harry descend from the Boy's dorm stairs dressed in his Dress robes which were green and matched his eyes.
He noticed them staring at him so he asked "So what do you think?"
"Dashing" "Handsome" "Elegant" all three witches complimented him at the same time.
He smiled saying "Thanks now let's get going shall we?" with that all three witches stood up and all four of them made their way to Great Hall.
The hall was completely changed courtesy of Professor McGonagall and Flitwick as the house tables were all but gone and in their place were rows of chairs which were filled with reporters from all over the world.
The place where the staff table used to be was now a platform with a table and 3 chairs in the middle and a podium on the side. Each table had a flag of respective schools flags with their court of arms displayed on it. From left was Drumstrang then Hogwarts and last was BeauxBatons.
Harry saw Fleur who was already sitting at the BeauxBatons with Headmistress Madame Maxine as well as Viktor who was climbing with Igor Karkaroff. Also, side of platform sat Minister Fudge with representatives of Bulgaria and the French ministry.
His eyes lit up seeing Amelia who was thereby Fudge's Side and with her was Dora and another gentleman who was Dark-skinned and 6 foot tall.
Amelia's face was set in her professional mask of Head of DMLE mask as she looked at him, the mask slipped as she flashed a smile and put the mask back on again. For that split second, she was his Amy. Dora waved at him which he returned.
His eyes met Fleur who gave him brilliant smiles which reassured him. He took a deep breath looking at Susan and Daphne by his side who gave him the same reassuring smile and a nod to him. Sighing he entered the Hall.
He made his way to the platform where Bagman Greeted him "Ah! your just in time. Now please get on the platform so we can get started" he gave a nod and climbed on the platform.
Harry took his seat in the center looked at the room filled with reporters. It was then that Dumbledore came up to the podium.
After Casting silent 'Sonorus!' Dumbledore started "Welcome to all our esteemed guests to Hogwarts for the last day of Triwizard Tournament. Now I would like to open the stage for questions to our Champions, please feel free to ask"
That opened floodgates of the questions. The first reporter stood and asked "Hello Champions I am Mike Atwell from Magical International. My question is all of you that do you think relations between nations improved which is main goal behind this tournament?"
Viktor answered "Da, this tournament taught us vhat ve couldn't have learned staying in our countries and that is perspective of other nation's people also their culture"
Fleur took over saying "Oui, Viktor is right we have learned much and gained even more"
Harry added to it "We learned too from our guests and we are glad to host them"
Next reporter was an Italian who spoke "Hello, I am Anna Lisi from La Mattina Magica, my Question is to Ms. Delacour. How do you feel about competing in this tournament with a competitor who is 3 years younger?" in a tone of contempt and a glare directed at Harry.
This did not pass unnoticed by the French Champion and Harry's Fiancee.
Fleur frowned saying "I zink zat age of a person does not matter in zis competition. What matters is ze amount of courage one 'as in zeir 'eart and my fellow champion 'ere has more zan any ozzer person in zis room. And if you 'ave any doubt you can kindly confirm it wiz ze Chimera who 'e faced, Mademoiselle Lisi. Oh! Merci, you can't sorry cause 'Arry killed IT!" the reporter was taken back by the amount of disdain shown by the French champion.
Another man with a thick African accent "Mr. Potter would you like to comment on your participation in the tournament?"
Harry answered sighing "I have said it before and I'll say it again. I did not put my name in Goblet and I didn't ask anyone to do so. I have done all I can to survive in this tournament and just like the previous two tasks I will do everything to survive in this one too"
Then a French reporter stood up saying "Bonjour Champions, I am Marquis Garnier of Magie Quotidienne. What would you do with the prize money if you would money?"
Champions of Belgium and France gave thoughtful look as Harry answered "I know that I would donate it as I have never wanted it in the first place"
Fleur added "I would like to start some kind of business of my own"
Viktor added "I vould like to donate it to my school quidditch team for new equipment"
Next, a man with a heavy Irish accent stood up asking "Connor for Sports weekly and my question is to Mr. Potter as you are the youngest seeker on the school team do you have any aspirations to join Quidditch Professionally?"
He smiled saying "No, though I love flying on my broom I don't see myself entering into the professional leagues any time soon"
Viktor chuckled saying "That is a shame I would have loved to play against you Harry" he only chuckled in return.
Then a woman whom all 3 of the champions detested wholeheartedly stood up asking "Hello dear champions I am Rita Skeeter from Daily Prophet. My question is about your personal lives and how the tournament has affected it?" everyone in the room knew what she was asking.
Viktor answered "Ms. Skeeter I would like to remind you that we are here to discuss the tournament, not our personal lives"
At this Rita smiled saying "Oh I know Mr. Krum and my question was just to know if there were any strains on your relationships due to said tournament" her retort was perfect hence Viktor backed down.
Fleur replied "If you must know Mademoiselle Skeeter we miss our family and friends back at 'ome but we also made new friends 'ere so it's not zat bad for us"
Rita gave a smile that screamed 'hook line and sinker as she asked "Mr. Potter what about your family? How is your Life going with Lord Sirius Black and other members of the Black family? And how do you think your parents would feel seeing you take part in this tournament? Also, I would like to ask if this was your attempt to prove yourself to the world or a simple act of desperation in need of attention and approval from people which you didn't get from your parents?"
Harry felt a storm of rage build up at these accusations that she masked as questions but somehow he kept his calm and answered "Ms. Skeeter, I will answer in the same order. My life with my godfather is going great thank you for asking. As for your questions about my participation and how my parents would feel about that, well I can only hope that they are proud of me watching from where ever they are. And lastly, I have all the love and approval I need among my friends and godfather as such I am not desperate for anything as such, thank you"
The reporter sat back without an answer she hoped for but was smirking seeing Harry struggle and also noticed that raged Expression of French Champion. In her mind, she said 'oh there is a story right there!"
The rest of the press meet went on for 5 more meets before Dumbledore took the podium again saying "Now we announce the press meet over as the Champions need to get ready for the family dinner and the following task. You may head out towards your allotted tents until the time of the task, Thank you" with that he stepped off the podium to the right and all the champions got off the platform and exited through the back door.
As three of them exited the great hall Fleur started saying in rage "how can she say that? That vile woman! That excuse of a woman who can she ask such questions to 'Arry! I swear, I will burn that bug woman alive next time I see her, I will-" she was stopped by pair of soft lips on her own which surprised and calmed her at the same time.
Parting Harry asked her "Better?"
Fleur gave a mischievous smile as she said "Ummm…. I am but just to be sure kiss me again"
He chuckled saying "As you command my lady!" with that he kissed her once more this time it was a deep kiss parting he asked "Now?"
Fleur gave a sigh of contentment saying "Oui, Much better"
At that moment Viktor cleared his throat gaining their attention saying: "Vell I was just making sure your aware of your surroundings" at this all of them had a good laugh.
After 5 to 10 minutes the Dora opened the door saying "Okay you can come out now the crazy crowd is gone" all the champions smirked at this. As they came out Harry and Fleur made their way straight to their friends.
He looked at the expressions of his friends and sighed saying "I know you all are worried about me cause of skeeter but it's okay. Am I still angry at her for what she asked? Yes. Am I hurt because of what she said about mum and dad? Yes, but I can't focus on it cause I have to survive for myself and all of you. So no time to be gloomy right now. I am fine now so wipe those worried expressions off your face will you" at this everyone looked at him in shock for a minute then smiled at him nodding.
"Okay," Susan said "We won't ask about that. So we have an hour and a half before dinner what do you want to do?" Harry thought for a minute before saying "Well why don't we just sit and chat in peace before all the craziness starts" everyone smiled as they made their way to Gryffindor Common room.
After only 45 minutes Fleur left as she need to get ready and like all girls do she liked to take her time doing it. When it was 30 Minutes to 8 Harry too went up his dorm to change.
At 7:40 Harry came down the boy's Dorm stairs. Angelina whistled saying "You clean up good Potter!" see him in his sky blue dress robes.
Hermione nudged the chaser saying "Quit ogling him Johnson, my brother is taken"
At this Angelina sighed saying "A girl can dream granger" at this everyone had a good laugh.
Shaking his head at his friend's antics Harry said "Okay guys I will see you after dinner at the pitch, see you!" he left the common room and made his way to Beauxbatons Carriage.
He waited for a minute as he waited for Fleur. The door of the carriage royal blue opened to reveal a Fleur dressed in a simple but elegant white maxi dress, she left her hair open, and in her neck was the necklace he gifted her at Christmas. For him in one word she looked beautiful.
" 'Arry?" Fleur's voice brought him out of his enamored state cause of her beauty.
He turned red before he smiled saying "Sorry love, I was just admiring you"
Fleur chuckled saying "You can do it later as we need to go to the dinner remember?"
His eyes widened as he said, "Oh yes the dinner I forgot about that" offering her his hand which Fleur took and both made their way to Dinner.
As they reached the tents on time with only a few seconds to spare. As they entered the tent it was filled with dignitaries and ministry officials from all three countries. In the corner, he saw Dumbledore talking to Minister and other ministry officials.
He scanned the crowd only to Viktor standing with his family and smiling as he talked to his sister. He scanned the crowd once again only to find Sirius and Andi talking with Alain and Apolline. He flashed a smile to Fleur and both of them made their way to their family.
"Padfoot!" he called out nearing the group of fours.
Sirius turned toward him with a huge grin on his face saying "Pup! Fleur how are you guys?" hugging Harry and shaking Fleur's hand.
Harry answered "All Good Padfoot what about you got any dates with Ms. Vance?" at this
Sirius's eyes widened as he shook his head while Andi on his side raised an eyebrow asking "Oh what is this Siri going for Emmaline are we? Trying to ignite old flame it seems"
Sirius's shoulder sagged as he sighed "Now you have done it Pup she will never stop teasing me on this. You just gave this tyrant more power over poor ol' me" last line earned him a swat back of his head.
Harry chuckled saying "Sorry Padfoot and Andi are always happy to see you" as he hugged her.
The older woman smiled at the teen hugging him back saying "It's good to see you too Harry"
Breaking the hug he moved towards Alain who stretched his hand forward and Harry shook it saying "It's nice to meet you again Alain"
The French diplomat smiled back at him saying "Pleasure is all mine, Harry!"
He moved to Apolline who looked apprehensive at first stretching her hand but Harry didn't notice it as he took her hands and brushed his lips on her knuckles saying "You are looking Beautiful as always Apolline"
That broke the dam as Apolline blushed before saying "We don't do that in Family 'Arry we hug" with that she took him in her embrace which shocked him for a moment and was embarrassed as he was smothered in the more the ample bust.
He returned the hug and breaking apart he said "I will remember that" while being all red. Apolline simply nodded smiling, in her mind, she cursed herself
It was then that Gabby said " 'Arry! Where is my hug? I want one too!" pouting with her hands folded standing near Apolline looking cute.
He looked at older veela's sister with a questioning look who chuckled saying "She wants 'ug 'Arry"
Hae made an 'O' sound before kneeling and hugging Gabby saying "I can't leave you out can I now?" his comment was answered with her giggles.
As he let Gabby go and stood up Dumbledore announced "I would like to welcome all our guests tonight especially the family of our champions to this dinner and to witness the end of this legendary tournament, thank you. The dinner is ready please help yourselves."
The dinner was a self-serve banquet. It had cuisines from all three countries. As Harry started to serve him some of the Ham with salad and mashed potato before he took his seat when Fleur sat beside him saying " 'Arry don't eat so 'eavy!"
He looked at her quizzically asking "Um….It's just a normal portion Fleur it's not like I am eating like Ron"
At this, her face grimaced as she remembered the redhead boy at the welcoming feast.
"I mean don't eat any zing 'eavy like 'am or potatoes," she said looking at his plate and said, "you will feel 'eavy and won't be able to perform ze your best."
Harry understood what she meant and asked "Um…..Okay, what should I eat?"
She grinned passing him a bowl of seafood soup. He took it saying "Bouillabaisse?"
She nodded saying "Oui, it is light and yet will make you feel full on top of that it tastes Delicious!"
He shook his head and took some in his bowl and tasted it, he turned to her saying "You're right it is delicious but nothing beats treacle tarts made by Dora" smirking.
Fleur chuckled saying "You just wait Mon Amour I will introduce you to real French cooking really soon!"
Harry smiled saying " Oh I look forward to it, Love "
That's when Sirius spoke "Oi! Love birds we are here you can talk to us too!"
Harry smirked saying "Looks like someone is jealous of you Fleur" this caused all on the table to chuckle.
Sirius retorted "Oh dear godson of mine you know I have all attention I need from the ladies who follow me!"
Andi snorted saying "Siri he is talking present where you are following Emmaline and not about past where you were followed by girls who wanted to hex you for your perverted pranks along with James and Remus"
Sirius laughed along the table exclaiming "Those were the glory days Marauders were at the pinnacle when that happened. Pup it was our fi…" that started a round of exchanging stories from each of their school lives.
It was at 9: 30 that Dumbledore stood up announcing "I would like to ask our champions to get to their respective locker rooms to change for the task and for the guest to proceed to stands" at that Harry and Fleur stood up looking at each other they gave reassuring nods before they went to separate rooms allotted to them.
Harry made his way to the room which was mostly empty aside from gear that was given to him by the organizers. It was in the color of his house with leather brown elbow guards and knee pads.
He changed and made his way to the pitch where the entrance of the maze and staging area was.
He saw Fleur and Krum were already there waiting for him along with Mr. Bagman and other judges. He stood at the mouth of one of the three opening into the maze. He noticed the crowd was all the students along with the guest and their families.
Mr. Bagman Announced "Witches and Wizards, I Ludo Bagman invite you to the event of Century final task of Tri-Wizard tournament!" with that crowd roared as no one has the faintest idea how true those words of Bagmam would be, almost prophetic.
He continued "Now as the objective of the final task is to teat one's navigation and presence of mind in the pressurized situation and achieve their goal persevering through all the obstacles. As such the one who reaches the Tri-wizard Cup in the middle of the Maze wins the tournament along with eternal glory and amount of 1000 galleons!" at this the crowd of the audience roared once again.
"Now in the last two tasks the champions were scored and as per that score champions will enter the maze. So with 92 points the first one to enter will be Harry Potter Champion of Hogwarts!" as he gestured towards Harry the students cheered in his support along with Sirius, Andi, Susan, Daphne, Gabby, and his friends from the stands while Dora and Amelia cheered for him from sides.
"Now after five minutes of Mr. Potter entering the next to Enter the Maze with 87 points under his belt from last two tasks will be Viktor Krum Champion of Drumstrang!" with that the students of Drumstrang cheered as well as decent amount of female population from both Hogwarts and Beauxbatons.
"Last to enter the Maze will be beautiful and Gorgeous Fleur Delacour with 83 Points!" this time it was the opposite of Viktor's reaction as almost all the male populations of Hogwarts and Drumstrang cheered for Fleur along with her parents and other French Dignitaries.
"If a champion after once entering the maze is no longer able to continue then they have to simply send red spark in the air from their wand so the Staff of Hogwarts and Aurors can retrieve them from the Maze" saying this he turned to three champions for confirmation who nodded giving him exactly that.
"Now at the sound of cannon Blast, all three will enter as instructed. So let the game Begin!" as he finished he gestured towards Filch who was manning the cannon.
BANG!
The cannon went off and Harry entered the maze after taking one look at Fleur before doing so. As he walked some feet he heard the noise of bushes rustling only to turn and see the entrance close. Now alone in the maze surrounded by think mist, he muttered to himself
"Only way out is way through."
