As Zhao took a sip of his tea, Zuko slammed his cup on the table, gaining the attention of both Zhao and his uncle Iroh. "You allow a water bender into your ranks!" Zuko shouted. "Only citizens of the Fire Nation may be soldiers!" Zuko continued to rant. "Zuko, show some respect!" Iroh proclaimed. Yet before either could continue, Zhao put his hand up as an indication to stop. "No, Iroh, he is correct," Zhao said calmly. "If she hadn't been a third-generation Fire Nation citizen, I would have been in the wrong. Luckily for me, she is in fact a third-generation Fire Nation citizen."
At that Iroh turned to the girl "What is your name?" Iroh questiond though Zhao was the one to reply "her name is Rose Hinokawa" Zhao stated with pride only to be met with a surprisingly annoyed expression from Iroh. "I would prefer if Rose explained who she is herself" Iroh said with a calm tone despite his frustration towards commander Zhao. At Iroh's request the gard know known as Rose looked surprised "You, want me to explain?" Rose questiond seemingly confused, as if she had never bin given the common curtsy. though Zhao seemed even more confused yet stayed silent motioning with his hand allowing her to speak. "As commander Zhao said my name is Rose Hinokawa I was born in the fire nation yet my grandmother was born in on of the two water tribes I do not know witch, I inherited my bending from her." Rose explained Iroh took another sip of his tea and continued. "Why did you join the fire nation army?" Iroh asked, yet there was no response as Zhao quickly rased up his hand
again signaling for her to stop now clearly frustrated.
All this time Zuko remained silent but at this point he couldn't hold back anymore "It's bin hours! our ship is no doubt repaired we are leaving" Zuko blurted out clearly annoyed. As he attempted to leave the room the guards blocked his path. "I'm afraid I can't let you leave prince Zuko, especially after you lied about the avatar" Zhao stated "what! Who told you?!" Zuko shouted " all it took was a bit of pushing and your crew gave everything away" Zhao said with a chuckle "I must capture the avatar to restore my honor and return home!" Zuko proclaimed with fury as he walked right to the commander and got right in his face. "Ha! why even bother trying to go back when you own father doesn't even want you there?" Zhao questiond with a smug smile.
At Zhao's mention of Zuko's father Rose looked over at him with what appeared to be sadness though before she could do anything Zuko lashed out and Zhao quickly followed. Though before things got out of hand Iroh pulled them back "Calm Yourselves!" Iroh proclaimed and just as Iroh was about to speak Zhao cut him of with a proposition. "There is only one way to settle this" Zhao paused "an Agni Kai" Zhao stated and before Iroh could decline Zuko Proudly rose to the change. while Iroh stood there worrying he noticed that at the mention of Agni Kai, Rose seemed even more on edge as if she was scared. Though to her credit she hid it well from the others. But Iroh would need to worry about that later as they headed out to the cort yard for the battle.
