Zuko stood there for a moment thinking of what he should do on one hand as a water bender she'd definitely draw unwanted attention and the crew on the ship already drove him mad as it is. The one the other hand he admitted that her skills were impressive and considering the Avatar was traveling with a water bender it would be nice to level the playing field. And on a more emotional note with the fact that she just saved his life and in turn betrayed her commander meaning that if he did turn her down she would most likely be severely punished if not killed considering her commander is Zhao. Not to mention with the added bonus of pissing Zhao off Zuko new right choice. "gather your things we leave in 30 minutes." Zuko said as he walked off to get the ship prepared before departure. Iroh soon followed though he did stop for a moment to look back at Rose "Welcome to the crew." he said with a smile before turning to join Zuko. As Rose watched them leave she turned to face her former commander who still stood in shock. Rose held out her hand and pulled the ice back returning it to it's liquid form inventing it back into a pouch. The sudden movement caused Zhao to lose balance and fall shaking him out of his funk. As he did what he did best screamed, every profanity and cruelty you could think of. And Rose simply walked off to go get her things. Leaving Zhao alone to dwell on what had happened.
Rose was both amazed and confused at what just happened she stood up to her commander and now she was going to join the disgraced Prince on a suicide mission... still better than spending another day with commander Zhao. After all if Iroh was with any indication at least these people had common decency, something Zhao was lacking. She made it to her courters and packed her things in record time after all the faster she left the better. She didn't have much, the only belongings she truly owned where a few water bending scrolls Zhao let her keep for training, a small notebook and a few pairs of clothes, everything else she kept on her person. And so she left with her small bag of things and left to go to her new home. Yet just as she made it to the docks he appeared, commander Zhao stood between her and the shipyard. "This is your last chance, turn back and I'll forget your insolent behavior"
well that was the most obvious lie ever. She new Zhao and she new that this was her only chance to get away from him "I've made up my mind and i need to get o that ship" Rose expected resistance maybe even a fight but instead Zhao simply stepped aside. She cautiously walked by him only for him to read her arm "you may think this is best but the banished Prince and failed general won't save you from my wrath" Zhao stated with a cold and cruel tone, he let her go after that and allowed her to leave. she walked away calmly though once out of his sight she ran terrified of staying any longer. Making her way up to the ship she saw Iroh standing by the ramp "it is an honor to be here sir" Rose said with a bow only to have Iroh put a hand on her shoulder. "And is is a pleasure to have a new recruit onboard" he said with a smile. "Now your roo will be on level 3 cabin 7 you and the rest of the crew will be called to the main deck at sunrise to receive your daily tasks, i look forward to seeing what you can do" And with that he walked away leaving her on the deck of the now departing ship.
As she looks out into the endless blue of the ocean as her former hell slowly faded out of view she looked of into the sunset knowing this was the beginning of something truly extraordinary.
