Chapter VI
The Mist Village, It's Gone!
Morning shown over the city of Taloga. The sun seemed to be smiling as she looked down on the vast, peaceful, beautiful city. However, the city was anything but peaceful at the moment. The Imperial Talogan Army was marching aboard the Kiro's for war. Ranks upon ranks of men, women, and armor was moving single-file towards different ships assigned to them. No one said a word. They were all debriefed in the early morning hours before dawn on where they were boarding.
Once the army was on their ships, the anchors were hoisted and the sails were lowered. 10,000,000 soldiers were setting sail, straight for the Eastern continent. Straight for the Axis Alliance territory.
"The wind is blowing in a good direction Sir. I expect us to arrive on the Eastern Continent by this afternoon." A captain told Falcon as he stood near the helm. "Thank you Yamamoto, see to it that the scouts have a good look of the area." Falcon said. "Aye sir" Yamamoto said as he walked towards his lieutenants to pass the order.
Falcon looked towards the Palace. Naruto, Rock Lee, Neji, Shikamaru, and Hinata (surprisingly) were standing there watching the fleet go off to fight. Falcon knew that Naruto could see him, so he gave a salute to the Emperor. Naruto nodded in return before turning and walking from the balcony. "Iroh, pass the order to raise the colors!" Falcon called to a lieutenant as he ran passed. "Aye sir" the lieutenant shouted. "RAISE THE COLORS!" He shouted at the top of his lungs to other ships.
Falcon rolled his eyes behind his visor. That was before he walked down to the captain's quarters to meet the other generals for a strategy meeting. Five generals circled a table with a map of the eastern continent on it. Falcon took his place at the head of the table. Hiro sat beside him and blushed slightly at this new experience being this close to Falcon while sittting.
"I say we attack Konoha first, it's the closest and the current most powerful member of the Axis." A general named Kiro, who also designed the ships they were sailing on, commented. "Not to Konoha first, they will have reinforcements from Suna. We need to attack on that they will least expect." Falcon said as he studied the map. "What about this village?" A general named Dai asked and pointed at the Mist Village. "Would work, but I'm afraid that if we attack, we'll alert the Axis Alliance to our presence." Falcon said.
An older general, named Gohan, cleared his throat. "You have something to say General Gohan?" Falcon asked as he turned to face the man that was his master from his birth. "Falcon, we must attack the Mist Village first. They have a navy and will utilize it to their advantage. Also, we can strike when they least expect it. They are having an annual holiday that is of extreme importance to them. They would be not so alert to our presence." Gohan said as he explained it to Falcon.
Falcon pondered for a moment. Then he looked around the table. Each general nodded his head in turn. Finally, Falcon nodded. "Alright, we'll attack the Mist Village first." With that, the generals pulled out another map and studied the Mist Village from what they had based on their spy there. "Do you think that your spy escaped?" a general named Mizu asked. Falcon nodded. "I sent her the message that we were coming to the Eastern Continent and we're going to destroy the hidden villages. I told her to flee the Mist Village as well. She made it out safe and sound. That's how we got our Map of the Mist." "That is good." Kiro said as he stroked his beard.
Falcon studied the reports on the Mist Village's military and their population. "We will hit them from the west. That is there least suspected area of fire." "According to this map though, the western side of the Mist Village is the most fortified spot. Why attack there?" General Dai asked. "That's why we would attack there first. We have the range to attack the western side and demolish it before the Mist village has time to defend itself. They would more likely expect an attack to the north judging from how many defenses they have there." Falcon explained.
The generals caught on to what Falcon was saying. Take out their best defenses and the village crumbles. And with the festivities of their holiday going on, this would be the perfect time to strike. "Lieutenant Iroh, order the ships to turn north west. Our target the Mist Village." Falcon ordered as the loud lieutenant listened to his orders. "Aye sir." Iroh said as he walked out of the captain's quarters.
The generals soon felt a shift in their direction of travel and prepared themselves for the turmoil that was coming.
The Hidden Mist Village was lively with activity in the middle of the night. It was their annual celebration of the founding of their village. A time for merry making and getting drunk. Out of all of the Hidden Villages, the Mist was the most alcoholic. Sake flowed from that village just as much as the water that surrounded the island. It was a perfect defense from land threats, but not from naval threats. The Axis Alliance believed that the Talogan Army would attack stone or Cloud first since they were more of a threat than the Mist and the Talogans weren't going to strike Konoha because of Suna's proximity to Konoha.
This left the Axis Alliance no idea that Mist would be first. Since war was officially declared. Even the guards of Mist weren't really watching for a threat like. In fact, most of the guards were drunk and were not at their stations. The guards to the north were the most alert but they didn't check west from the side that was the most fortified.
They completely missed the sails of the Kiros as they approached. That was the mistake that doomed the village.
The Kiro's were armed with powerful ballistas that shot rocks with incredible speed, accuracy, and precision. Every Kiro had two of these weapons on their decks and all were loaded. Five Kiros towards the front of the fleet, made a broad left turn then a right turn to give their weapons a more powerful volley. One of the Mist guards saw the fleet coming and was trying his best to sound the alarm over the music that played in the village. Unfortunately, he was too late.
The order to fire was given and ten powerful stones flew at the walls and defenses of the Mist Village. When they made impact, the western wall crumbled and with it, their defenses crumbled as well. In a second, the village was in disarray. The Shinobi were trying their best to charge at the oncoming wave of Talogan soldiers. Fortunately for the Mist Village, the first wave wasn't the Eagle's Brigade. Unfortunately, the wave sent was more than enough fire power.
The Mizukage, desperate to get aid to their village, sent an Eagle to fly off to Konoha. The Eagle never made it to Konoha though. A Talogan arrow took it down before it had a chance to get out of sight. With the Eagle's fall, so did the fall of the Hidden Mist Village.
The battle only lasted for two hours and it was clear that the Village had fallen. Only one man managed to escape the bloodshed. He ran straight to Konoha without stopping until he was outside their gates.
Danzo had a no-acceptance-after-dark policy in place which meant the civilian had to remain outside the gate for hours before it would open.
By this point, the Talogan army was ashore on the Eastern Continent. Their next target was the hidden Cloud Village. And they were already on their way there as we speak.
But all of this went without notice of Danzo until the morning. As he entered his office, Sai, his faithful servant looked up at him. "Danzo, sir I'm afraid I have grave news to tell you." Sai said as he looked as emotionless as possible. "What would that be Sai?" Danzo asked as he sat in his chair. The same chair he had taken by usurpation and murder of Tsunade. "We opened the gates this morning to find a supposed survivor from the Hidden Mist Village."
"A survivor?" Danzo asked puzzled. "He's here right now. He has suffered from severe blood loss and might not have much longer to live. The fact that he even got here is a miracle." Sai said as he showed Danzo to the door and on their way to the hospital.
"You said survivor, was The Hidden Mist village attacked?" Danzo asked as they entered the room where Ino, the top medical expert in Konoha, was fighting to save a severely pale man. The man was bandaged in many areas of his body and even then his bandages were getting stained. "L-Lord Danzo...I don't have much...l-longer I'm afraid...but listen...to me...The Hidden Mist Village...was attacked last night by...the Talogans...It seems that the...Black Knight was leading them...and I heard he was the Commander and...chief of the Talogan Army and Navy...we had no chance..." after this the man erupted into a coughing fit. Blood poured out of his mouth while Ino fought the urge to throw up. "Calm yourself down man, the village must surely have some survivors." Danzo said.
The man's eyes started to cloud over, but in his last minutes he managed to get out one clear sentence. "The Mist Village, it's gone!" The man suddenly stopped moving and Ino ran a pulse check. "He's dead Danzo sir." Ino said as she looked up to Danzo.
Danzo looked to Sai. "Sai, I want you to dispatch a small team and go to the Mist Village. Report what you find." Danzo said with a hint of fury in his voice. This was a bad sign for the Axis Alliance. This meant that the Talogans weren't playing by their strategy like they hoped. This could only lead to one thing; utter doom if they cannot figure out where or how the Talogans were fighting.
Sai's team wouldn't arrive until late that night and the results were grim. Not a single survivor was discovered. The Talogans had killed everyone in that village. And that wasn't the worst part. They were headed for The Cloud Village next and they didn't know where they were in comparison to Cloud. It was now a race against time to save the Hidden Cloud village from the doom that shadowed over her.
