Chapter 2:
Isabelle's POV
Nik speeds over to me and gives me a tight hug. I hug back, just as tight. Once he steps back, I'm enveloped in hugs from Bekah, Elijah, Kol and Finn. Oh how I missed them!
"We've missed you so much!" Bekah says.
"I haven't had my pranking buddy in, like, forever," Kol comments, making me laugh.
"I'm back, Kol. Finn, what's this I hear about Esther?" Finn looks ashamed.
"I might've helped her try to kill them. Have you heard about Hope?" Who's Hope? By the looks of it, she's not someone good because Klaus is sending dagger eyes at Finn. I dread to ask but I have to:
"Who's Hope?" Klaus sighs and answers reluctantly:
"Hope is… my daughter," what? "Her mother is a werewolf. It was a drunken accident, Isa," his eyes look at mine pleadingly. "Her mother doesn't want to be a mother, she wasn't ready and so I took responsibility for her," he leans down and whispers so quietly - so that no other vampire catches it: "This could be our chance to have a child. Hope's only a few months old. Hayley is watching her right now, but like I said, she doesn't want to be a mother, not yet, and not to Hope," I sigh.
"You better hope she inherits your looks, Nik, because we aren't telling her that I'm not her biological mother," Nik's signature smirk is gone, replaced by a hopeful look.
"You forgive me?"
"Yes. But only because I too have slept with men when I've gotten drunk enough, though, I, obviously, didn't get pregnant," I look up at him and give him a light, playful, shove. His smirk reappears and he growls playfully.
"You know you love me," he says. I tap my chin, pretending to think, making a mock look of worry appear on his face.
"Yes… I suppose I do. Even after all this time apart," I laugh and kiss his cheek. "'Till death do we part', Nik, remember?" He chuckles.
"I remember, Love."
"You cheater! You're dating my brother!" Rosalie shouted. I smile.
"I may have gone on a couple dates with your brother, and kissed him a couple times, but I have never, ever said that I was dating him."
"That's what going on dates and kissing him means!" Rosalie protests. I smile.
"Fine, it might mean I was technically dating him but it doesn't mean he was my boyfriend. I'm married to Nik, and I have been for much longer than you have even been a twinkle in the stars! Nothing, I repeat, nothing, will ever change that," I laugh. "You really are stupid if you think that I would ever leave my husband. Nik and I have always, and will always, be together. Till death do we part. Where we come from, there was no such thing as divorce," I smile sadly. "I am sorry that I led you on, Edward, but I don't think you were even in love with me. You couldn't read my mind, since I am an Original, and that fascinated you. You fell in love with the silence and peace my mind gave you, not me," he looks surprised. Aro laughs, making me turn to him. "You weren't any better. I mean, you didn't recognize me, and when you learned that you couldn't read my mind, Jane's gift didn't work on me, and neither did Edward's, you wanted me to join your coven. You need to start seeing vampires as vampires and not just as powers you can collect. You might get more support that way."
"Of course Lady Isabelle. I will work on that," he says respectfully, bowing his head. I smirk.
"Good. Well then, I suppose we're done here," I clap my hands together before turning to the Cullens. "Think of this as a warning, Cullens. If I hear that you've done something to break the law, including letting a human discover your kind and not turning them immediately, you won't get a second chance. You'll be punished severely. I understand that you think human life should be valued, and to some degree, I understand that, but if a human finds out, it's a danger to our kind, and they must be turned, immediately. Do you understand me?"
"Yes Lady Isabelle, we understand," Carlisle says, bowing his head.
"Brilliant! Oh, Aro, if I hear about you acting like vampires are possessions, not actual sentient beings, I will be coming for a visit, and punishing you. Take this as a warning," he nods, bowing his head again. "Delightful. Now, husband, sister, brothers, how about we go get Nik's daughter, and settle somewhere to raise her?"
"Sounds perfect, sister," Bekah says, linking our arms and leading me out the doorway. "Let's go do it."
No one's POV
The Cullens did eventually let another human find out, but Rosalie, who respected Isabelle's warning and took it to heart, made sure she was turned in a timely manner. Aro also took Isabelle's warning to heart and started treating vampires as actual beings, not possessions, and did get more support, as Isabelle had said he would.
As for the Mikaelsons, they lived a long, long, long life. Klaus and Isabelle raised Hope, eventually telling her about her biological mother, despite Isabelle's reluctance. Hope grew up to be just as mischievous as her uncle, Kol, as smart as her uncle, Elijah, as pretty and boy-crazy as her aunt, Rebekah, as passionate about human life as her uncle, Finn, (despite her other family members' dislike of it), and as deadly as her beloved mother and father, Isabelle and Klaus. She was the best of the Mikaelsons, and soon became famous in the supernatural world for her kindness, until someone she loved was hurt, then, she became feared for her deadliness. Eventually, Klaus got another human girl pregnant, this time with his wife's permission, and he had a son, named Ansel, after his biological father, who he never got to meet.
