Miles and Spiderman swing through NYC, enjoying the sunshine and having some fun, "Watch this!" Yells Spidey, as he performs a triple backflip somersault through a crane and catches himself mere inches from the ground, "You're just an adrenaline junky, like to see you try to actually help someone for once in a while!" Miles swings down and lands on top of a light pole, "This better be good", Spidey lands next to him. "Oh it will be, see that lady over there?" Miles points to a woman angrily tapping at her phone screen, Miles shoots a web and swipes the phone from her hands, it's on 2% and has a bad connection "Here goes nothing..." he zaps the phone, BZZZT, 50%, 2 bars of connection.
"Hey! Give that back!" The woman yells at him, "One second ma'am! Let's try this again..." he shoots a web up the charging port and zaps the phone again, the screen lights up and flickers, before turning off. "Uh oh..." but then it sparks back to life at 100% charge with a perfect connection. "Here you go!" he throws the phone back to the lady, it lands perfectly in her purse. She picks up the phone, delighted with the results.
"Can you do that?" says Miles, the smirk almost visible through his mask, Spidey shakes his head "You know that's basically theft, right?"
"Uh, no? I gave it back. It was just borrowing."
"Alright kiddo, whatever you say, let's go get lunch, c'mon." he fwips a web out and swings off, miles just behind him.
They share a box of donuts on the side of a skyscraper, they're chilling on the wall, their masks rolled up to get the food in. "Hot today." says Miles
"Must be that black suit, it absorbs the heat, I'm just fine." Spidey says with a mouthful of donut.
"I gotta get a new one of these anyway."
"Hey, I've got an idea, if it's the sunlight being trapped by the suit maybe just turn invisible and the sunlight will go right through you."
Miles vanishes.
"Is that betterrr?"
"Yeah a little bit, I guess." A donut disappearing into his invisible mouth soon after.
"I feel dizzzzyyyyy." Spiderman detaches from the wall.
"Whoa!" Miles yells out, he turns visible again and springs into action, he shoots a web out, it catches Spidey's mask and pulls it off, his body still in free fall. Miles shoots out another web which properly catches his body, he pulls him up to the top of the building and puts him down. "Are you okay? What's going on?" He panics.
"I feel sickkkkk." Peter almost throws up
"Steady on there pal, what's happening? You don't normally get sick." Miles checks Peter's temperature, it's not a fever.
Peter's eyes widen "Something huge is coming, I can sense it. In a few minutes, get me to reed, he'll know what to do."
"Reed?" Miles is confused.
"Reed Richards, the Baxter building! get me to the Baxter building!" Peter looks like he's about to pass out.
"Alright, alright, but your mask, you'll have to use mine for now." Miles takes off his mask and places it over Peter's face, then turns invisible.
An invisible Miles picks Peter up and begins to swing through New York, keeping an eye out for the Baxter building. To the bystanders below it simply looks like a limp spiderman swinging by himself with Miles' mask on. They take photos and he passes by.
"We don't have long." whimpers Peter.
"We're almost there." Miles, determined, he spots the Baxter building and swings up to the top. He drops Peter's body on the roof and then swings down and through a lower floor's window.
The Thing is napping on the couch, magazine in hand. "Wake up!" shouts an invisible Miles.
The Thing wakes up and looks around "Who is that! Johnny this better not be one of your tricks again!"
"It's Kid Spider, I'm invisible because I lost my mask."
"Kid Spider? Who the hell-"
"You know, Spiderman's super cool sidekick." Miles is not exactly humble.
"Stop lying to me Johnny!"
The thing swings his big rocky arm in front of him, and by a stroke of luck he hits Miles sending him crashing into a wall, he turns visible.
"Now just who the hell do you think you are coming in here waking me up like that! Boy if I didn't know any better I'd think it's about CLOBB-"
A stretchy blue hand stops The Thing before he can clobber Miles.
Reed steps out of the doorway "Calm down, It's just Kid Spider."
"Kid who?" The Thing is still confused.
Sue Storm runs into the room, "He's Spiderman's assistant."
"I'm a SIDEKICK and I'm way more important than that anyway..."
"So why are you here?" Reed folds his arms.
"It's Spidey, he's sick, he told me to bring him to you, he said you'd know what to do."
"Where is he?"
"On the roof."
They run upstairs to the roof, Peter's not doing too good, nearly motionless, breathing heavily.
"What happened?" Reed yells, he checks his pulse "Your heart's going crazy, almost 200bpm."
Peter can barely form a sentence. "It's about to happen."
"What is?"
Miles suddenly screams and covers his ears, he falls to the ground.
"I don't like the look of this." The Thing, worried.
"It must be something to do with their spider senses. This could be big. Take them down stairs." says Reed.
The Thing picks the two spider-men up and carries them into the med bay.
"Their vitals are going crazy" Reed reads off of the multitudes of different medical devices.
"EVERYBODY GET DOWN!" Peter suddenly screams.
The sky lights up, a blinding flash of light and then a slow rumbling, almost like an earthquake.
They all brace for an impact, but then suddenly the rumbling stops.
"Is it over?" says sue.
Peter wakes up suddenly. "I'm okay! I'm okay."
Miles is still worse for wear.
"Reed what the hell was that." The Thing is clearly worried.
"Reed I don't know but whatever it is it's over."
Sue looks out the window. "Is it just me or is the horizon further away?"
An incoming transmission. Reed picks up a receiver, it's Johnny. "Uh, guys? did anyone else see that?"
"Where are you?" Asks Reed.
"I'm flying up the east coast, I don't know what happened but I'm seeing a city I don't recognize, I'm headed to HQ."
"It could be a memory thing." Reed ponders.
Miles wakes up. "What happened?"
"Shh, we're still figuring that out."
"I'm gonna fly down there and check it out." says Johnny "Woah, something just flew past me. Super fast."
"What was it?"
"I don't know, but it was blue and red."
