Cro-nut-affle Catastrophe:
NOTE: This story series is based on an unproduced Disney cartoon that was created by Cheyenne Curtis.
In the small East Coast town of Mystic, Connecticut, there were places where people could go fishing, go sailing on the water, shop, or go to many great restaurants to get something to eat, and stay at the hotels there. One such hotel was the Inn at Mystic, which had a brand-new bakery/cafe that opened about a month ago right by it, the Katz Cat Cafe, owned by Ava Katz, the head baker. She was a woman with brown hair, black eyes, had yellow-colored earrings, a blue-ribbon headband which was tied around her head, clear blue glasses, and was wearing a yellow and black-striped shirt, a green apron, purple capri pants, and black flats. Her part-time helper was her daughter Ginger, an 11-year-old girl with black eyes, orange hair in pigtails, and was wearing a pink and lilac elbow-length sleeved shirt, a green apron, blue pants, orange socks, and purple sneakers.
It was morning at the Katz Cat Cafe. After eating breakfast, Ava and Ginger then were ready to open up the cafe...
Ava: Okay, Ginger, are we ready?
Ginger: Let's do it, Mom.
The cafe opened up for breakfast at 9:00am. Ava started making and cooking up the pastries, while Ginger was making the coffee. Soon, their friends and honorary employees came into the cafe: Max Murray, a 12-year-old boy with black hair, blue eyes, and was wearing a black short-sleeved shirt with a yellow crown in the middle of it, green sandals, and brown sandals. He is always ready to make a buck with something. His younger sister, Franny, is a 6-year-old girl, with her brown hair tied up in a knot, and was wearing a yellow dress, with white socks, and pink shoes. She is somewhat of a wild child. Finally, there was Eve Fernandez, a 15-year-old teen girl with long black hair, with one left earring, brown eyes, wearing a purple short-sleeved shirt, blue jean shorts, and pink slip-on shoes. She was mostly there for the free WIFI and coffee.
It was a busy day at the cafe.
Ginger: Many customers want cro-nut-affles today!
Max: Well, it Is the most popular thing on the menu.
Eve: I hope we'll have enough stuff to make them.
They had a lot of customers asking for what that best invented dish was, the cro-nut-affles! (croissants, donuts, and waffles combined) But eventually, the cafe ran out of the stuff to make them...
Ava: Oh, no! We just served the last one of the cro-nut-affles!
Franny: (groans) I know! I wanted one for later!
Ginger: What are we going to do now? Many of our customers want our best dish, cro-nut-affles!
Ava: Don't worry, guys, I can make a quick order for more stuff to make them! It's by best invention dish, so I know what to get.
Ginger: But what will we do with all these people waiting?
Ava thought for a moment, but an idea came up...
Ava: Crumpet and Sunny are our best performing cats. Bring them out, and see if they could do tricks for the customers. I'll be right back.
Ava went out of the kitchen through a secret pink door, while Ginger headed to the cafe area where the cats were. The two cat regulars (and mascots for the cafe) were Crumpet, a black cat, and the Katz families' pet. Sunny, a female orange cat who is sleek and sophisticated. Other cat regulars included Chonks, a big male ginger-colored cat who is easy-going, Fritter, a male gray cat who is adorable and fluffy, Dazzler, a male, green-colored cat, who is a pompous purebred, Celestina, a female, blue-colored cat who is a drama queen, and Mr. Fluffybutt, a male silver-colored cat who is a know-it-all.
Ginger has the power to speak to cats, so she asked Crumpet and Sunny for help...
Ginger: Crumpet, Sunny, can you two distract the customers while Mom is out getting more stuff to make the cro-nut-affles?
Crumpet: Of course, Ginger.
Sunny: You can count on us!
Ginger then went back to the kitchen to tell her friends what to do...
Ginger: Okay, do we have maple butter?
Eve: (nods) Yeah, we have several bars of then.
Max: Should I sell pieces of the butter to customer for a Good price?
Ginger: No, Max! I want to be sure we'll have enough of it for more cro-nut-affles. They go great with maple syrup.
Franny: So, what do we do now?
Ginger: We need to be ready when to help Mom when she comes back with the stuff. Crumpet and Sunny are currently doing performances for the customers in the meantime.
In the dining room, Crumpet and Sunny were meowing a song and doing a dance routine. They were both kicking her feet in the air back and forth. The people were cheering loudly for them. Meanwhile, the kids were in the kitchen, cutting and sorting pieces (with a plastic knife) of maple butter out. After they finished doing that to all of the maple butter bars, Ava returned, from the secret door, with a big, magical box.
Ava: I've got many supplies for the cro-nut-affles in this box! Are we ready to bake?
Everyone nodded.
Ava: Alright, let's get to work.
Ginger, Max, Franny, and Eve then sorted out the croissants, donuts, and waffles, then Ava put the baked goods into the big, magical oven (which had room for everything) and cooked them. While the food was cooking, Ginger went to the dining room to see how the two cats were doing...
Ginger: How are your performances going so far?
Crumpet: (happily) They're going great!
Sunny: Yeah. These people are excited to see two cat performers live!
Ginger: (chuckles) Well, this Is a cat cafe after all.
Soon, the cro-nut-affles were ready, and all the customers lined up to place their orders. Everyone ate their food, and had their coffee, (The children would have hot chocolate) then left the cafe. With the breakfast rush over, Ava was proud of the cat cafe team for their work...
Ava: Well done, kids. We've only been in business here for a month, but I think this was our best workday so far!
Ginger: And our best performing cats help us to entertain the customers while they waited!
Ginger turned to Crumpet and Sunny, and gave them a wink.
Crumpet: This was one of our best performances, Ginger.
Sunny: Yes. This place might help the Inn at Mystic get more people to come there.
Ginger: I know! The cafe could increase tourism here. The more popular this place gets; the more people could come visit Mystic.
Eve: Ginger, who are you talking to?
Ginger: Oh. (realizes that Eve is looking at her) No one.
Ava: It's time for us to have lunch. Then, after that, we'll be ready for customers who would come later.
Ava closed up the shop for lunch, then she, her daughter, and their friends/honorary employees could eat and relax for a while. It was busy at the cafe, but the whole team successfully served their customers their best invented dish. This was just the beginning of the team's adventures at the Katz Cat Cafe.
