Despicable Me: Elephant Mission Chapter 2

''Look, honey, you'll be able to make some new friends like what you did with Poppy'' said Lucy stroking Margo. ''I hope so, Mom…'' Margo sniffled as a small tear came into her eye. ''Hey, hey, hey, no tears. You'll be fine'' comforted Lucy. Margo calmed down and Lucy dried her daughter's eyes. ''Get some sleep, sweetie'' she said giving Margo a goodnight kiss. The next morning, the minions were hard at work. One of the minions accidentally hit another minion with a shovel. BONG! ''Grr!'' said the second minion and hit the first minion back. ''Oof! Grr!'' grunted the first minion who had the shovel. Soon both minions were fighting each other. ''Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight!'' chanted the two minions. Meanwhile the Gru family was out at the market place after breakfast. ''OK, first, we grab some shopping while Lucy and Margo have their time to make things better'' said Gru.

''Uhhh… what about Edith and Agnes, brother?'' asked Dru. ''We keep an eye on them'' replied Gru. He was right.

Lucy and Margo were having their usual mother and daughter talk about their second undercover business. They haven't got far enough when suddenly…. There was Melora whose hair Lucy had accidently burned off when she worked as a hairdresser the last time they had lived undercover! Lucy gasped in horror and she grabbed Margo's hand, ''Quick!'' she urged. ''Hey! Where are we going? We were having a talk!'' protested Margo. ''I know but this rock's too rough, best find a new spot'' said Lucy.

While they were running. Lucy thought, ''How did she get here? How did she know we were there?''. Lucy and Margo passed through a crowd of people. ''Excuse us! Comin' through!'' said Lucy desperately. She accidentally knocked over a fruit basket. ''Hey!'' said a man. ''Ooh! I'm so sorry!'' said Lucy. Melora finally spotted her. ''YOU!'' she roared. ''Ah!'' said Lucy sprinting off, dragging Margo after her. ''Mom! What's going on? You know her?!'' asked Margo.

''I accidently burned off that woman's hair when I worked as a hairdresser!'' replied Lucy, ''She chased me and your sisters all over the superstore while you were at your new school!''. Melora lunged after the duo like a wild animal. ''AAH!'' shrieked Lucy. She picked up Margo so she could carry her. ''Come on! Let's go!'' said Lucy franticly. Lucy raced through the market with Margo in one arm.

Melora clambered after them, closing in. ''YOU FAKER! YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS!'' she bellowed. Lucy and Margo managed to avoid some people, while Melora roughly pushed them out of her way. Lucy and Margo approached a construction work sight. There was a sign that read: No entry. But Lucy had to make the escape. With a great leap, Lucy landed on the workmen's helmets one by one to get across. ''Ow!'' said one workman. ''Ow!'' said another workman. ''Ow!'' said the third workman. ''Pardon me! Sorry! Mother and daughter coming through! Excuse us! Sorry!'' said Lucy. ''Ow!'' said the fourth workman. ''Ow!'' said the fifth workman. Melora made her way through the workmen pushing and shoving and running over the wet cement. Lucy landed on the sixth workmen's helmet.

''Ow!'' he said. Then Lucy leapt over a fence and landed on the rump of horse, startling it. Before Melora could carry on with the chase, the horse gave her a massive kick with its back legs, sending her high into the air! ''YAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!'' she screamed. SPLASH! She landed in a river bank. This allowed Lucy and Margo to make their escape before Melora could catch them up. By the time, she reached the surface, her victims had gone. ''NOOOOOOOOOO!'' howled Melora. Lucy, still running and carrying Margo, looked around to make sure she was no longer hot on their trail. When they managed to caught up to the other. Lucy stopped in front of her husband, Gru!

''Oh! There you are! Where have you two been? We've been searching for you for a long time'' said Gru. ''Oh! Yeah. I thought I take Margo for some fresh air after we had a long talk together. Right, kid?'' said Lucy.

''Mom, please put me down'' begged Margo. Lucy put her daughter down. ''Alright, let's get back. It's getting dark'' said Gru. The family were making their way back, when Agnes thought she heard a low rumble coming from behind her. She turned to see what it was. But there was nothing there. ''Agnes, come on!'' said Margo. Agnes hurried after her family. That night at the undercover home, Everyone was fast asleep, the girls were sleeping in their room with Kyle, Blondie and Lucky. Margo was sleeping half naked in her bare buttocks, legs and feet and only wearing a white shirt and lying on her stomach on top of the covers. When suddenly something long and stretchy came through an opened window and inside the bedroom. Something huffed softly at Margo.

''Arrgh… Blondie, stop sniffing at my hair'' she muttered in her sleep. Margo woke up and turned on the light. She gasped in surprise when she saw the trunk of the elephant sticking into the room through the open window. Then she looked down and saw herself half naked and shrieked in horror. Margo went over to the open window but not without finding some pants to put on in the process. She found a pair and put them on quickly to cover her privates. Margo was about to close the window when to her amazement, she saw there was a whole herd of elephants outside! Margo's eyes went wide with happiness. Margo's intelligence sparkled as she knew a few things about elephants. They were the largest living things on land.

You could tell three species of elephants apart by their ears, African Savanna (Bush), African Forest and Asian. The ears of African elephants were much larger than their cousins and were described as being shaped like the African continent, whereas the ears of Asian elephants were shaped like the Indian subcontinent. There was also a trunk difference - African elephants had two 'fingers' at the tip of their trunks, whereas Asian elephants had one.
