Despicable Me: Elephant Mission Chapter 3

The next morning, Gru was taking out the trash. He was humming Double Life. ''Hello, Gru'' came a female lisp voice. '''AAAH!'' said Gru striking a fighting pose for defence. It was Poppy Prescott. ''Poppy?!'' said Gru, ''What are you doing here?! How did you find us?!''. ''My parents and I were on vacation'' said Poppy, ''When I couldn't help but notice you and your family going undercover again. I followed''. ''Oh, really? You followed us? Why?'' asked Gru.

''Your enemies were at your house and I hold them off'' replied Poppy. Meanwhile, the villains complained. ''I cannot believe that teenager ditched us to protect Gru'' moaned Bratt. ''She's more sly than I least expected!'' agreed El Macho. As they were making their way, they kept smacking the trees into Vector by accident without noticing.

''AH!'' yelped Vector. Then another, ''OW!'' he yelped again. Then another, ''OUCH!''. At last… ''That's it! I've had it!'' howled Vector, ''I am the greatest, nerdiest villain alive! So I have to go first!''. But as her pushed his way through, he tripped over a branch on the ground and landed with his face in a pile of elephant poop. SPLAT! ''Errrgh!'' exclaimed El Macho, Bratt, Maxime and Valentina in disgust. Vector heaved his face out of the poop. ''There's an elephant around here'' he gasped for air. When Vector mentioned the word: "elephant", this gave El Macho an idea.

''Wait a minute! That's it! We'll steal an elephant to lead Gru into saving it and then we eliminate him and his family!'' he said. ''Steal an elephant?'' said Maxime, ''I suppose that works''. ''But you gotta be stealthy'' said Bratt, ''Those elephants don't know what comes at them''.

''Yeah, right'' scoffed Vector. Bratt whiffed at Vector's face, ''Phwoar!'' he said. Meanwhile at Gru's second undercover house, Margo was telling Lucy about the elephants she had seen outside the window in the night. ''You saw a herd of elephants?'' repeated Lucy in disbelief. ''Yeah, they were travelling across our land'' said Margo. Edith remembered her friend Stompy who was also an elephant. ''Ya know, I thought all elephants lived in Africa'' she said. ''Africa's only one of the two places they come from Edith'' said Lucy, ''Elephants also come from Asia''.

''Two species of elephant are native to Africa, the African savannah elephant and the African forest elephant. In Asia, there is one species, the Asian elephant'' added Margo, ''The Asian elephant have smaller ears''. ''Cool!'' said Edith in amazement. ''Pssst! Guys!'' called Poppy. Everyone turned to see their new friend. ''Oh hi Poppy'' said Lucy, ''What's up?''. ''I have a special mission for us'' said Poppy. She led the family to where the mission was. There was a pick up truck nearby. ''A truck?'' said Gru. ''What's inside the truck?'' said Poppy. She opened it to see there was an Asian elephant inside. ''ANOTHER ELEPHA….'' Agnes started to squeal, but Poppy cut her off. ''Shhhhhh!'' she hissed, ''You'll blow your cover if you let everyone find out!''. ''What do you mean?'' asked Margo. ''I've been watching your enemies'' replied Poppy.

Meanwhile unbeknownst to Poppy and the Gru family, the five villains were watching! They were looking through binoculars. ''Curses on a mouldy taco!'' said El Macho, ''Too late! They've got there first''. ''Not unless we take that beast first'' said Bratt. ''As long as Mr. Oh Yeah doesn't fall in elephant poo-poo again'' said Maxime. ''I probably won't'' scowled Vector. ''Can we just get this over with? They're getting away!'' said Valentina. At that moment, Poppy and the family were on the road in the truck with Gru driving. They were taking the elephant to its rightful location in India with other elephants just like the one who was Asian. Edith was still thinking about the differences between Asian elephants and African elephants. ''What's the name of the Asian elephant?'' Agnes wanted to know.

''Her name is Emily'' replied Poppy. Meanwhile the villains were following behind in their own set of wheels. Vector and El Macho held a weapon ready to shoot the truck down. ''Hold it steady'' advised El Macho. ''I am'' said Vector. ''That's the spot'' said El Macho. The engines fired up. ''Ready….aim…FIRE!'' commanded El Macho. BOOM!

Out came a grappling hook. The truck turned a corner, the hook missed the vehicle and caught a tree instead, dragging everyone along. ''WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!'' they all hollered loudly. The tree was close to an edge and sent the five of them sprawling down into a river. SPLOOOSH! ''Euuugggh!'' everyone moaned. They were all soaking wet! ''My makeup! It's ruined!'' screeched Valentina.

Meanwhile, The Gru family arrived at the train station with Emily. They got her into a boxcar. A whistle tooted and the train slowly set off out of the station and down the track. ''Emily you remind me of my friend Stompy, he's an elephant just like you'' said Edith as they travelled along, ''He's an African elephant. We rescued him from a circus cos of the evil ringmaster Mr Tal''. ''Looks like Emily is our second elephant friend'' said Dru. No one noticed their enemies were following the train! While the villains were gaining, the group were still chattering to one another. ''So this is the second time you've gone undercover?'' asked Poppy. ''Yes but luckily no undercover names this time thank goodness'' replied Lucy. ''But I still don't like it, new names or not'' said Margo sadly.

Suddenly, Dru cried out, ''LOOK! It's the villains! They must be after the elephant!'' he hollered. ''What?! Where?!'' exclaimed Gru. He finally caught sight of his former enemies and gasped in horror. ''Surprise!'' called El Macho, ''Did you miss us?''. ''Yeah! We've come for that peanut-eating jumbo of yours!'' added Bratt. The enemies leapt onto the boxcar, abandoning their vehicle. Gru, Dru and Lucy pulled out their weapons and got into fighting poses. ''Girls, dogs and goat, ''You keep back and let us deal with these villains'' said Lucy. So they did. The train soon arrived at the next station while Gru was still talking to the five of his archenemies. ''What could you possibly want with Emily?'' he demanded.
