The sun was shining down on the northern ocean of Vacanza Beta where a small starship shuttle was hovering. A side door of the ship opened to reveal Mariner in a short sleeved light purple wetsuit, with a bright yellow star on the front, and a bright red diving belt stretching and readying herself for the dive. Serena walked up to Mariner looking at her PADD, Serena was dressed a dark purple wetsuit, with a bright yellow crescent moon on the front, and a bright red diving belt. Serena was reading her PADD which was connected to her ship's censors. Serena explained to Mariner, "Well Mariner it appears the only dangerous marine life around here are common sharks from Earth. I must admit it I always wanted to visit Earth the animals are a bit ordinary compared to the rest of other worlds yet majestic like the lion." Mariner turned to Serena and replied, "Eh I guess lions are pretty cool, but I preferred going to the aquarium as a kid than the zoo. However, the trips to the zoo with my parents were fun especially when I got on my dad's shoulders to get a better view of the animals." Serena flirtishly replied, "Well Mariner were gonna be up close with this wildlife and air is gonna be in short supply. However, if you're running a little low on air, I'd be more than happy to share my supply." Mariner and Serena reached into a bag Mariner brought aboard the ship and pulled out scuba mask and two mini rebreathers.

Mariner explained that she had Rutherford custom make these rebreathers a while ago to pick up some "special" cargo during a mission. The rebreathers were styled like mini oxygen tanks from the 20th century but with a digital oxygen level meter, special scrubbers used by the Cerritos to recycle carbon dioxide into breathable oxygen, and a much larger air storage capacity so they were able to stay submerged for six hours. Serena interrupted Mariner's explanation and stated that she must have a lot of trust in her friend's invention. Mariner replied, "Of course Rutherford is a great engineer I mean he designed a digital god though it did try to kill him at first. But I did test these went I grabbed that "special" cargo, and they did work, and I didn't drown." After strapping on their masks Serena grabbed her PADD and showed her Mariner that her shipped picked up an unusual reading, it was a sunken single passenger starship. Serena then said, "From my readings it looks like the ship's computers are somewhat salvageable and its pretty close." Mariner then added, "I wonder what kind of cargo is onboard maybe some Romulan ale I am really hoping there is still some cool cargo to salvage. I don't think I've ever been on an underwater treasure hunt." Serena replied, "I have it's kind of fun but bringing the treasure up is hard, you either have to make a million trips or a whole salvaging ship." Mariner and Serena agreed that they had the time and the equipment for this aquatic adventure.

Mariner and Serena both grabbed their empty bags and took deep breaths but, before diving into the ocean they both shared a quick kiss. Then Mariner flirtishly asked, "So ready to get wet, Serena?". Serena replied, "I am though I wish instead of that wetsuit you were wearing a bikini with a body like that hiding it is a shame." After placing their rebreathers in their mouths, the two adventurous ladies jumped right into the blue for their aquatic adventure. Mariner and Serena descended a few feet before coming together and held hands to be sure not to be separate. Mariner was fascinated by all the different marine life from all the different planets in the universe however, she was more captivated by the aquatic beauty swimming with her. Serena swam gracefully in the water like an Olympic athlete with a look of intrigue in her eyes and a cute puffiness in her cheeks. While examining the marine life Serena was also quietly checking out Mariner as she too was quite graceful in the water. Serena was captivated by the curves of Mariner's ass and breasts and, the Mariner's puffed cheeks only added to Mariner's beauty. Apparently, Mariner's combat training made her quite an athlete which not only helped her in missions but in her personal recreational activities. Mariner had recently been doing some aquatic exercises in the holodeck which gave her both physical activity and time for thinking. Deep in the water one is alone with their thoughts giving her time to look inside herself as she had been a more reckless since Ferenginar though it was because she was in a dark mental place. However, her latest escapade with Locarno and her impromptu therapy session with Ma'ah she finally went back to her usual jolly, rule breaking, and slightly violent self.

While swimming in the ocean Mariner surprisingly appeared from under Serena and then right in front of her. Mariner removed the rebreather from her mouth and puffed her cheeks then puckered her lips. Serena decided to follow Mariner's lead and did the same thing then decided to ask her what she was doing using her betazoid ability of telekinetic speech. Serena asked, "Mariner what are you doing you look totally silly? But I am kind of turned on right now." Mariner replied, "Well since we're both on vacation maybe we should be a bit silly since I need a break from serious. Plus, I figured you wanted to see an earth puffer fish." Serena replied, "Well you are a rather pretty fish, and your cheeks are quite attractive. In fact, now that I think about it, I think I need a fresh breath of air." Mariner complied with Serena's flirtatious request and the two shared a passionate air sharing kiss with their rebreathers secured in on their diving belts. Mariner broke the kiss and took Serena's hand then asked her a question, "I have to admit I did not expect to meet someone on this vacation but I'm really glad I met you. Though don't you think we're moving a bit quick." Serena replied, "I suppose maybe a little but, in all fairness, we slept together the night we met where we had some drinks, we did have breakfast together, and told stories over coffee. So, we practically had 3 dates already plus with a girl like you is a rare thing to find so I have to pounce." Mariner felt flattered by Serena's comment then the two strapped on their rebreathers and descended deeper into sea, holding hands as they descended. While descending Mariner spotted the sunken spaceship then they would be couple began swimming towards it.

While Mariner was off on her underwater expedition Boimler was having a rather calm morning as he was studying some marine life. Boimler and T'Lyn had a similar morning to Mariner and Serena with the same breakfast and telling stories over coffee with Boimler intrigued by how T'Lyn was like Mariner. T'Lyn was intrigued by Boimler's stories as she had studied his mission record but hearing the same story from a different perspective with more in-depth facts and emotions was fascinating. Boimler and T'Lyn were currently studying a lionfish from earth. T'Lyn remarked, "Fascinating specimen this aquatic species known as a lionfish is quite an invasive species. According to my research this species had the potential to majorly disrupt earth's marine ecosystems, yet many humans kept them as pets in aquariums. I suppose to keep them away from ecosystems they could damage is beneficial, and they are aesthetically pleasing." Boimler replied while taking notes on his PADD, "I guess they do look pretty cool. While I was aboard the Titan, Captain Riker told me Admiral Picard had a pet lionfish named Livingston aboard the Enterprise. I'm glad this one doesn't seem to be damaging the ecosystems of this planet." T'Lyn replied, "Agreed Bradward and based on some of the other samples of marine life we have studied it appears the lionfish has found several predators in the Andorian Spear Shark and the Vulcan Sabretooth Fish which does limit the population. It is quite intriguing how lifeforms on different planets can interact with each other as if they are from the same ecosystem much like how we are studying these creatures. While we were on the subject of our shore leave, I am curious as to what our friends our doing on their shore leave? I am especially curious as Rutherford seemed rather upset at D'Vana's sudden departure." Boimler explained, "Actually he and ensign Barnes are skiing and skating in the mountains. Mariner decided on a beach vacation like us but instead of studying marine life she said she was gonna go fishing, diving, swimming, and drinking." T'Lyn replied, "Well it appears that there is a more dangerous life form currently in the ocean." Boimler chuckled at T'Lyn's remark with T'Lyn explaining she sincerely meant her remark as she knows how much of a fighter Mariner was with Boimler agreeing.
