The Fairly Oddparents: A New Wish
The Battle for Big Wand
{REWRITTEN}
It has been a very busy day for Dev Dimadome. After meeting Irep, his new Anti-Fairy Godparent, he's been making Hazel's life a living nightmare. He wanted to make sure that not only she couldn't win the Rock Paper Scissors competition, but also that she could have one moment to breathe before another wave of back luck hit her in the face like a plastic bag. While he was snickering to himself watching Hazel get rained on for the second time today, he noticed Irep looking a little distant. "Hey, Irep! Pay attention!" The Anti-Fairy blinked before looking back at Dev. "Oh! My bad, I was just thinking of the rest of us Anti-Fairies. You didn't think I was alone, did you?" Dev lowered his glasses a bit, his face scattered with intrigue. "There's more of you?" He said with a mix of confusion and surprise in his voice. Irep laughed a little. "Of course there are! You seriously didn't think I was one and done, did you?" He said, slowly opening a gateway into Fairy World Jail before continuing. "Say, since the competition doesn't start for a few more hours, why don't I show you where they're hiding?"
As Dev entered the prison, he noticed a distinct aura in the air. Something felt wrong about this place, like waves of pure chaos and destruction flowed through the soundwaves. "Okay, Irep… where's the rest of those Anti-Fairies? All I see is-" Before Dev could even finish, he noticed nearly thousands of red eyes staring at him. Malicious laughter echoed from behind the glass chamber as multiple of the dark blue Anti-Fairies flew around the cell, getting a good look at the human. "Oooh, look at this one!" One of them said, "I can feel his darkest desires!" Another one screeched. Dev didn't want to look frightened in front of all of them, but deep down he had a gut feeling that this was bad news. However, he shoved that gut feeling down. Irep had been helping him a lot with getting back at Hazel, and the rest of these Anti-Fairies seemed like they'd be good assets as well. "Well, well, well! I see you've brought the Godkid to us, my dear Irep!" A sinister British voice echoed from the cell. This Anti-Fairy was different, Dev could tell that immediately. His dark eyes, sharp fangs, and fancy attire told Dev all he needed to know about him. Irep floated up to the glass with glee. "I have, father! Dev, meet Anti-Cosmo! Former leader of the Anti-Fairies, before I took the crown." Dev simply crossed his arms and tapped his foot. "Yeah, yeah. What gives? I'm not just going to help you guys out just because you helped me." Anti-Cosmo grinned at the boy's attitude. "My, my! Dear boy, I like your defiance… but it won't help either of us, will it? I know you want to get back at that Wells girl." Dev took a small step back. "How do you know that..?!"
Anti-Wanda chortled with glee. "Anti-Cosmo, I think I'm FINALLY makin' progress at eatin' the wall away!" Anti-Cosmo rolled his eyes. "Oh, Anti-Wanda. I'm so happy for you… you twit." His voice was very deadpan while talking to his wife. "As I was saying… we've been watching you for awhile, Dev. Irep's plan of taking Peri's place has worked marvelously, but we obviously have much bigger goals to aspire towards." He twiddled his thumbs deviously, looking at Dev excitedly. Irep joined in too, mimicking his father. "Yes, and our teamwork has worked wonderfully thus far! You and I make a great team, but this is only the beginning! What if we told you that you could not only get back at Hazel and her stupid fairies, but also take over an entire world while you're at it?" Dev's attention peaked at that. He wondered if maybe taking over an entire world could finally make his own father notice him. Maybe then the two of them could rule together as a family. Irep extended his hand, waiting for a handshake. Dev thought over it a bit more, before taking the Anti-Fairy's hand. "I knew you'd accept!" Irep said with glee. Anti-Cosmo grinned once again, seeing the handshake. "Oh, yes… your father would be so proud of you, Dev."
[TIMESKIP]
It was Friday, and Hazel Wells was in a deep sleep. Cosmo poked her cheek. "Do you think she knows what day it is, Wanda?" The pink fairy shrugged. "I'll give her a few minutes." Just then, a bunch of fairies busted through the front door. "HAPPY FAIRY-VERSARY, HAZEL!" Hazel shot up awake at the noise. "Wha-?! Who's there?!" Hazel said in shock before noticing everyone. A bunch of fairies in her room, decorations all over. "What's going on..? Why is everyone here? Is it someone's birthday?" she said, getting out of bed. Jorgen stepped up. "Little girl, it has been one year since you got your fairy godparents. Not many kids get to this milestone, so celebrate!" Hazel gasped at what Jorgen said. "It's been a year already?! It flew by so fast, I can't believe it!" She said, looking around at all the magical beings that came all this way to celebrate. Father Time, Nmusic Phairy, Mother Nature, and even Cupid. Cosmo and Wanda floated up to Hazel with glee. "We're so proud of you, Hazel! You've been so good at keeping us a secret, and… Wanda! What are you doing..?!" She was trying to eat Father Time's robe. "Oh! Sorry, I just got hungry!" Cosmo smirked. Hazel couldn't help but notice that something was off about the two fairies. Cosmo flew up to Jorgen, getting extremely close to the fairy. "Speaking of getting hungry, why don't you show Hazel her prize, hmm?" Jorgen grumbled. "Usually, when a fairy-versary happens, the godchild gets a Magic Muffin that gives the kid one rule free wish! But last time that happened, it caused multiple disasters. So I've decided that the Godkid only gets to LOOK at the muffin." He says, showing a muffin in a case. Hazel's eyes sparkled while looking at it. She could tell that it had a lot of power. Jorgen put the muffin on the counter, making sure that it was safe. "Remember, don't touch it!" Cosmo frowned, holding Wanda's hand. "Hazel, I think that is a little unfair. You deserve that rule free wish, don't you? Just get the muffin for us, and we'll make sure you get your wish without anyone knowing." Hazel looked unsure, but she trusted Cosmo. Even if they were acting off, they were probably tired.
When Jorgen was distracted while talking to the Tooth Fairy, Hazel slowly grabbed the case with the Magic Muffin in it and slowly gave it to Cosmo. "Ah, yes! You got the Magic Muffin! You are such a great help, Hazel… and also such a twit." Cosmo laughed to himself, Wanda joining in. Hazel looked confused and worried. "What do you mean by that…?" She said, worried. With a flash of dark energy, the two fairies revealed themselves as Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda. Everyone gasped. "ANTI-FAIRIES! What are you doing here?!" Jorgen yelled, getting his wand ready. "Oh, Jorgen. Getting defensive already, aren't you? There's not much you can do, chap. We've already won!" Anti-Cosmo threw the Magic Muffin to Dev, who was outside the window. He laughed to himself as Hazel gasped. He eats the muffin, struggling to swallow it but barely managing to do it. "Ugh, that was disgusting. Anyways… my rule free wish! I WISH THE ANTI-FAIRIES RULED FAIRY WORLD!" With an Anti-Poof, all of the fairy's power was taken away. Thousands of Anti-Fairies arrived, taking away all of the fairies through a dark portal. "What?! How did this happen?!" Hazel said with anger. Anti-Wanda laughed. "Did ya check the day, ya stain?! It's FRIDAY THE 13TH!" "And it's going to be Friday the 13th forever, thanks to you! You're such a twit, you know that?" Dev laughed, flying on his drones. "Enjoy your nightmare of a life, Hazard!" Dev said as he flew through a portal with Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda. "Nooooo….!" Hazel said, as she fell on her face due to bad luck. She got up, looking at the dark sky. She could already see Anti-Fairies tormenting innocent humans. She knew that she not only had to stop Dev and his Anti-Fairy friends, but also find the real Cosmo and Wanda.
Dev looked around at the changed Fairy World. The skies were deep red, dark clouds surrounded a large castle. The Big Wand was glowing a dark blue, powering all of the Anti-Fairies in the universe. "Ah, finally! We have complete control of Fairy World!" Irep said, looking at Dev with a mischievous glare. "Dev, you go and check on our prisoners. I'll gather more Anti-Fairies to guard the castle!" Dev nodded, using his drones to fly into the prison block. He sees many fairies inside cells, most of them crying. Some of them are playing chess and some are kissing. He tries to block out those from his mind. He stops when he hears Wanda's voice. "Dev…? Is that you?!" He looks over, seeing Cosmo and Wanda alone in the cell, holding Peri. He looks inflated and unwell. "Dev? Hey, buddy… I'm not feeling that… well, haha…" Peri said lazily. Dev felt a tinge of worry in his heart seeing his godparent like this. "What's wrong with him?!" Dev shouted. "He's got magical backup! When a godparent doesn't grant a wish in a long time, they inflate and go PATOOIE!" Cosmo said worriedly. "Dev, you got to make a wish! If you don't… our son is gonna…" Wanda added, her voice shaken in fear. Dev looked around at their faces with confliction. His heart beated with anxiety, not being able to choose a decision. His brow furrows. "I don't deserve a fairy godparent." He says flying away. "Noooo! Dev, come back here! I'll wiggle your hair so hard you'll cry!" Cosmo said with anger. "Dad… don't worry. He'll be back… he's a good kid. I know that…"
Hazel looked up at the door to Cosmo and Wanda's room, her heart beating faster than ever before. She's never done something like this before. Not only was both the human and fairy world in danger, but it was all her fault. She gave the Magic Muffin to Anti-Cosmo, she was fooled by an imitation of her friends. How could she be fooled so easily? She knew the two fairies more than anyone on Earth! At least, anyone she knew, anyway. She took a deep breath. "In…. and out…" She remembered something her mother told her. When her emotions get out of control, when the mountain feels unclimbable, just take a deep breath and remember… you're amazing just the way you are. So what if Jorgen takes her fairies away? So what if this is the last adventure she'll ever have? She just wants to make sure her friends are safe and sound. With one last exhale, she opens the door.
Inside, she could tell there was a struggle. Tables were knocked down, carpets were torn, and the windows were smashed. The pink has faded, and a dark red light came from the window. "Oh my goshness… this is worse than I thought!" She said to herself. She slowly crawls out the window, landing on a desaturated cloud. She looked up at the castle in the distance, lightning flashing behind it. Fear filled her heart for a moment, but she quickly dismissed it for a more determined look. She slowly walks through the ruined Fairy World, keeping an eye out for any Anti-Fairies flying around. She was so focused on looking at the sky, that she didn't realize that she bumped into someone. "Ah-!" Hazel said, falling to the ground. She looked at the Anti-Fairy she bumped into. She was slender, a blue robe drooping to the ground. She has a possum like creature around her neck. She also had a large afro. "Oh, hello… I'm Anti-Cookie." Hazel blinked with shock. Her voice was so… slow and calm compared to the real Cookie. Anti-Cookie smiled. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you….. I hate Irep after he stole my ride one time ..." Hazel stood up, dusting herself off. "Okay… Anti-Cookie! How do I get into the castle…?" "There's a secret entrance near the prison block…. Eep, I said too much…!" She hides in her shirt, her face flushed. "Nah, you told me enough! Thanks a lot, Anti-Cookie!" Hazel ran to the castle, her gaze on the huge sign that said "SEE OUR PRISONERS AND LAUGH AT THEIR DUMB FACES!" She was so distracted that she didn't notice a tripwire in front of the castle. She fell on her face and heard alarms go off. "Uh oh!"
Dev was looking out at Fairy World from the top of the castle, smiling. He finally did something in his life that could make his dad proud. "Finally! I have everything I could ever want! Now, Irep… you're gonna give me everything I want! Give me a cool hat!" Irep just started laughing to himself. "Oh, Dev. Do you really think that you can boss ME around? You're not the ruler of Fairy World… I am!" Irep said, sitting on a throne of dark energy. Dev slowly backed away, his face going from sinisterly proud to frighteningly upset at himself. "W-what… Do you mean…?! You wouldn't even be here without me…!" "May I remind you that you wished for Anti-Fairies to rule? You were just a means to an end, Dev. You hold no value to me anymore!" Dev fell down, backing away with fear. "Oh, and your father wouldn't be proud of you. He'd probably just step on you just to make his way to me, begging to be my assistant! Hohoho… it's hilarious how pathetic you two are." Irep finished. Anti-Cosmo laughed while watching the scene. He looked at the Magic Muffin and got an idea. A failsafe, just in case. He took the muffin and floated through an open window. "Mother… finish this pathetic human." Anti-Wanda laughed with glee, leaping at Dev with her arms outstretched. Dev yelped before rolling out of the way, quickly running down the stairs. "Aw, dang it! I lost him!" Anti-Wanda said, her face on the floor. Dev ran down the stairs, hyperventilating to himself. Just then, red lights started flashing. He saw Hazel enter the prison block on a nearby screen. "Ergh…. HAZMAT! I'll show her for ruining everything!"
As Hazel walked into the prison block, she saw all of the fairies locked up. "Gasp! Oh no!" She ran up to everyone. "Did you have to say the word gasp, girl?" Jorgen said with annoyance. Once she saw Cosmo and Wanda, she ran up to the bars with tears in her eyes. "Hazel? Is that you, squirt?" Wanda said. "Guys! I'm here to stop the Anti-Fairies!" Cosmo looked worried. "You're going to stop all of them by yourself? That's very dangerous…!" Peri threw up rainbows, but looked supportive. "If you're going to stop the Anti-Fairy scum, you're going to need help!" Jorgen said, cramped in his cell. "Take these!" He gave Hazel the chip for the Big Wand, and also a small blue cube. "Uhh… what's the cube for?" "It worked last time they escaped." Wanda said. Cosmo butted in. "Oh! Take this!" Cosmo gave Hazel a wand. This wand seemed to be the only one powered by good energy. "It's your wand from when you were a fairy! Why is it glowing though?" Wanda sighs. "It's still connected to her. Her will and determination is powering it. It should be enough for her to stand a chance." Hazel nods, before hearing a door slam open. "Hexagon! Come and face me!" Hazel knew who it was instantly. It was Dev.
Hazel looked at Dev with a frown. He was holding a dark wand, his face filled with anger. "You always ruin everything, everyone leaves me behind! I'm done hiding, I'm taking my chance to do something myself!" Hazel looked sad for him. "Dev, please… I don't want to fight you!" Dev didn't listen and charged at her. Hazel quickly defended herself with her wand, clashing with his with a clang. Sparks flew through the hall, Dev's angry face getting more and more exaggerated. The two kids clashed their wands together. "Dev, you have to stop this…!" He took this opportunity to push Hazel down onto her back. "Leave me ALONE!" He said, raising his wand up. Hazel rolled out of the way before he could strike her, kicking Dev in the back. Once Dev recovered, Hazel struck him with her wand repeatedly. Dev dropped his wand and fell to the floor, his glasses shattering with the contract. Hazel pinned him to the ground with her foot. "Dev… please stop…" She said, her heart beating a million miles an hour. Dev sighed to himself, his expression now sorrowful. "Hazel… I… I give up. You win. Now scold me for everything I've done…" Hazel looked surprised at what he said. "What…? Dev, I'm not going to punish you… just tell me what's wrong…" Dev sat up, tears in his eyes. "You wouldn't understand…! You have a great family, friends, and even fairies! I have a dad who doesn't love me, no friends; no one cares about me, Hazel! Even the Anti-Fairies ditched me… Maybe I deserve it…" He buried his face in his legs. "Dev… that's not true. There are a lot of people who care about you… even if you don't see it." She points to Peri, who gives a weak thumbs up. "Even if you think you're undeserving of friends, we'll still be beside you. No matter what." Dev looked up at Hazel, shocked. "Now… how about we take care of this Anti-Fairy invasion?" Dev was shaking, but the decision was easy. He took her hand, ready to fix his mistake.
"Alright, Dev. Take this cube thing. It apparently defeated the Anti-Fairies before, I don't know how, but you're smart! You can make it work! I'll go fix the Big Wand, okay?" Dev nodded. Hazel quickly ran upstairs. Dev looked at Peri, looking worse than before. "I'll be back, Peri. Give me a minute." He runs outside to see thousands of Anti-Fairies outside. Irep was directing them, giving them all orders. "Alright, everyone! Let's swarm the stores with black cats, and then turn all coffee into dirty dish water! How does that sound?!" Dev stood up, ready to face whatever happens next. "IREP!" He shouted. All of the Anti-Fairies turned to look at him. "Oh, would you look at that! Dev's going to try and defeat us? Ha! I'd like to see you try!" Dev smirked, and with a nod, opened the small box. Somehow, it began to pull everything in the area inside of it. "What?! How are you…? MOTHER! DO SOMETHING!" Anti-Wanda laughed and began to chase Dev from behind. The boy yelped and began running at first, but realized that he still had the box. He pointed it at Anti-Wanda, pulling her in. "Gosh darn it!" She screamed as she was pulled in. More Anti-Fairies soon followed, being pulled in at breakneck speeds. Irep watched with a furrowed brow, before pulling his mace out. "Stop this at once, child!" He swung for Dev, but he quickly ducked and started pulling him in. "Ugh, no! You haven't seen the last of me, Dev! I'll be back!" He said, trying to sound intimidating, but ultimately looked pathetic as he was sucked in with the rest of his kind. The box shut with a satisfying snap. Dev sighed to himself. With the Anti-Fairy army taken care of, all he had to do was make sure Hazel fixed the Big Wand. He began to go upstairs. "I hope Hazel's alright…"
Hazel managed to get to the top of the castle, tired from all the stairs. She hoped Dev wasn't hurt. She wanted to look down and make sure, but she had to fix the Big Wand first. As she slowly walks up to the wand, she gets knocked down by a staff. "Well, well, if it isn't that stupid kid I tricked!" Hazel looked up to see Anti-Cosmo, who was much larger. He radiated dark energy, clearly more powerful than ever before. "YOU! Why are you even doing this…?! What's your motive?!" The Anti-Fairy laughed to himself. "You see, child. You know how light can't exist without the dark? The sun can't exist without the moon. Fairies can't exist without Anti-Fairies." Hazel backed up in fear. "Okay… but why do you have to be evil…? Why do this?!" "Simply because good can't exist without evil." Anti-Cosmo laughed once again. He threw what was once the Magic Muffin at her, all of its magic gone. "O-Oh no…! What did you do?!" "Absorb the magic from the muffin for myself! Just in case my son fails to stop you. Seems like he has, so I need to remind the world why I am the true Anti-Fairy ruler!" He grabs a dark wand, a storm beginning around them. "Children are afraid of the dark for a reason, for I am the dark." He swung at Hazel, being blocked by her wand at the last second. "Back off!" She got up, holding her wand tightly. She tried to push Anti-Cosmo back, but his power from the Magic Muffin was extremely strong. "Give up, child! A twit like you could never beat me!" The insult made her more determined than ever, and her wand began to glow even more. Anti-Cosmo saw this, and began to charge up his wand. Both wands fired a laser blast, clashing with each other. The yellow and dark blue colors clashed, thunder and lightning screaming in the distance. Hazel's grip began to weaken, her stance slipping. She closed her eyes, fear nearly taking over her. Just before she gives in, Dev jumps in and holds the wand with her. "Dev…?" He didn't respond, but his stance told her that he had no fear in his body. Hazel smiled, joining him. The power of the wand increased and overpowered the dark energy, hitting Anti-Cosmo directly. He fell down, patting himself. "That… didn't do anything! Foolish children!" The two kids didn't look scared. "What… why aren't you scared of me?!" He then started to inflate. "The power of the Magic Muffin combined with our magic is giving ya magical backup. Enjoy it, buddy!" Hazel said with a smug grin. "Oh dear…. I guess this is how the crumpet crumbles!" He then exploded, positive magic flying everywhere. The Magic Muffin regained its power, along with the storm ending. There was nothing left of Anti-Cosmo except his clothes and his wand. "Dev, we did it!" The two kids would hug tightly.
After finishing the hug, Hazel put the chip back into the Big Wand. It lit up, and the pretty pink returned to Fairy World. All of the Fairies, now freed, flew up to the kids. "Hooray! You did it, Hazel!" Cosmo said. "No, Cosmo, WE did it." She looks over at Dev, who blushes deeply. Peri weakly floated up to him. "Oh! Peri… uh, I wish for a new pair of glasses!" With a poof, Dev not only got new glasses, but Peri was also back to normal. "Dev! Ohohoh, I'm so proud of you, kid!" Just then, Jorgen appears with a deep growl. "Child who is named Dev! You foolishly abandoned your Fairy Godparent, let the Anti-Fairies rule and trapped all of us! Therefore, your Fairy Godparent will be taken away from you and you will remember none of this!" Hazel gasped, he couldn't forget everything. Not after all of this! She quickly looked at the Magic Muffin, and swallowed it whole. She ran in front of Jorgen and quickly used her rule free wish. "I WISH DEV CAN KEEP HIS FAIRY GODPARENT!" Jorgen stopped. "WHAT?! You can't do that!" "Nuh uh! I'm using my rule free wish! It's still my Fairy-versary, right?" Jorgen lowered his wand, looking quite upset. "I guess so… fine! You can keep your Godparent, Dev, but NEVER do anything like this again!" The boy nodded quickly. Jorgen nodded back before disappearing. Dev looked at Hazel with a smile. "Thanks, Hazel… for everything." She returned the smile.
A week later, Dev was getting dressed in his bedroom. He was getting ready to hang out with Hazel today. He got his purple headphones on and ran downstairs before bumping into his dad. "Ugh, Dev? Where are you going?" Dev laughed a little. "Sorry Dad, I'm just going to hang out with Hazel." Dale squinted at his son, before brushing it off. "Alright, just don't disgrace our family name." Dev nodded before running through the front door. Dale then walked into his office and pulled up the page for Project H. "My son is hanging out with the anomaly?! How could this be?! What kind of magic is she doing?!" He yelled, looking at the big words "FAIRIES EXIST!" on the screen. He then heard a strange pixel-y sound behind him. He quickly turned around to see two floating men. "Hey, Dale. I'm HP, this is Sanderson. We've heard you need help, and we think we could bring you closer to your goal."
THE END…?
