I will try to correct the pronoun problem, But for the moment I solved the problem that this Sasuke instead of Sasuki

Chapter 3: Shopping day
The soft light of dawn filtered through the windows of the Senju residence, bathing the hallways in a golden glow. The sun's rays, warm and welcoming, caressed Naruto's face as he slowly opened his eyes. He blinked a few times, still drowsy, as the world around him came into focus. The unfamiliar ceiling above his head reminded him of where he was, and a slight feeling of nervousness began to churn in his stomach.
"Ah, yes..." he muttered to himself, scratching his head. Today we have to go to the market.
Not that Naruto was particularly good at housework even though he lived alone for so long, but there was something almost exciting about the idea of preparing his new home. He stretched his arms over his head, feeling a slight crack in his back. Despite the initial discomfort of sharing the master bedroom with Sasuki, he had slept surprisingly well. Well, the best he could considering that an Uchiha was on the other side of the room.
After a long yawn, he jumped out of bed and headed to the bathroom, leaving the rumpled sheets behind. As he washed his face, the cold water on his skin woke him up completely. He looked in the mirror, determined. Today was going to be a good day. Not only would they fix the house, but they could also work on strengthening their unlikely alliance.
The sound of running water echoed in the bathroom as his mind began to wander. "I guess this is what adults do, right? Buying things for the house, making sure everything is in its place... It's not that different from a mission." His thoughts were interrupted by a flash of anxiety as he remembered that Sasuki would be with him all day. "Just breathe, Naruto. It's just a trip to the market."
Once ready, he left the bathroom with renewed energy and crossed the hallway to the bedroom, where Sasuki was already awake, sitting on the bed. The atmosphere in the room was quiet, almost solemn, broken only by the soft sound of Sasuki scrolling through the scrolls. Her dark eyes were fixed on the ancient scriptures, her expression unfazed, but Naruto noticed a slight trace of fatigue on her face.
—Good morning, Sasuki! —Naruto greeted with his usual energy, his voice echoing louder than necessary in the silent room.
Sasuki looked up slowly, appraising Naruto with a look that could have cut steel. His black eyes looked at him indifferently, but Naruto thought he detected a slight shadow of fatigue behind them. "Maybe it should have been quieter..."
"Good morning," she replied in a flat tone before returning her attention to the scrolls.
Naruto, unfazed by Sasuki's curt response, walked over to the bed and sat on the edge, looking out the window. Outside, the leaves on the trees fluttered gently in the morning breeze. "It's a good day to be outside," he thought as he tried not to sound too enthusiastic about his next plan.
"I was thinking we should go to the market today," he began, trying to sound nonchalant. You know, to buy supplies and everything we need for the house. We can't live on instant ramen alone, although I wouldn't mind... but we should probably have something else in the pantry, don't you think?
Sasuki nodded slightly, his eyes still fixed on the scrolls.
"You're right," he responded, with the same neutrality as before. The house needs many things. We better do it as soon as possible, so we can focus on other tasks.
Naruto smiled, glad that Sasuki didn't reject the idea. Although he hadn't realized it, the tension in his shoulders eased.
-Brilliant! he exclaimed, jumping to his feet. Then let's go to the market and get everything we need! It will be like a mission, only instead of saving the village, we will be buying rice and vegetables.
Sasuki glanced at him sideways, his expression remaining stoic, but there was a slight glint in his eyes that, if Naruto had noticed, he might have interpreted as a hint of amusement. However, she quickly hid it behind a response that sounded more sarcastic than funny.
"Don't call it a mission," he said, folding the parchment neatly and setting it aside. This is simply a household chore, and there is no need to dramatize it.
Naruto shrugged, undeterred by the comment.
"Okay, okay, it's not a mission," he admitted, though his tone was still playful. But let's make it fun, okay? It doesn't have to be just a boring task.
—So, what else do you think we need to buy? he asked as he put on his ninja headband, trying to change the subject. I'm not exactly an expert on things around the house...
Sasuki paused for a moment, thoughtful, before answering.
"In addition to food, we probably need some things for cleaning, hygiene, kitchen utensils, and maybe some decoration to make the house more livable," he said in a matter-of-fact tone. There are many things that the house needs to be functional. We can't live only with what we brought here.
Naruto nodded, although he found some of Sasuki's list a little overwhelming. "I haven't thought about that before."
"Okay," he said. We'll take care of all that. I don't know much about decoration, but I can help you choose things.
Sasuki gathered his things and headed towards the door, ready to start the day.
"Come on, we'd better leave early to avoid the crowds," he suggested, in a tone that left no room for objection.
The Konoha market was a hive of activity as the morning progressed. The stalls were filled with fresh produce, kitchen utensils, and a variety of foods that filled the air with tantalizing aromas. The vibrant colors of the fruits and vegetables contrasted with the bustle of the crowd moving back and forth, creating an atmosphere that, although chaotic, had a familiar feel to the two ninjas.
Naruto and Sasuki moved between the stalls. Despite being busy with the task of replenishing their new home, friction between them was inevitable. Naruto, with his energetic and impatient nature, struggled to concentrate on household chores, while Sasuki, meticulous and calculating, didn't miss any details, sometimes resulting in petty arguments.
After a while walking and buying what he needed for the house, Naruto began to feel hunger creeping into his stomach. It hadn't been long since breakfast, but the constant sight of fresh, appetizing food had whetted his appetite. As they walked, his gaze fell on a stall selling fresh ramen, and the thought of stopping there excited him.
"Hey, Sasuki," he said, tugging on his partner's sleeve to get her attention. How about we stop here for something to eat? They have fresh ramen! It would be perfect to replenish energy after all this hard work.
Sasuki, who was focused on completing the purchases as quickly as possible, looked up from the spice stall she was inspecting. His eyes narrowed slightly at the ramen stand, considering the idea.
"Ramen at this time, Naruto?" —she responded with a slightly critical tone—. It's too heavy to continue walking afterwards. We should eat something lighter.
Naruto frowned, not willing to give in so easily, feeling his initial enthusiasm begin to wane.
-Light? he repeated out loud, as if the word itself were an affront to his love of ramen. But ramen is perfect for any time of day. Plus, it's delicious!
Sasuki sighed, aware that he was about to get into another argument with Naruto. "This guy never gives up, right?" she thought, although part of her found his persistence...interesting.
"It's not all about what's delicious," he replied, trying to remain calm. We are in the middle of our shopping, and the last thing we need is to feel heavy and sluggish. We could have omusubi instead. It is light and easy to carry.
Naruto grimaced in discontent. Although he had nothing against omusubi, they couldn't compete with his beloved ramen.
"Omusubi..." he said thoughtfully. It's not that I don't like them, but they don't compare to a good bowl of ramen, you know? Why can't we have both?
Sasuki looked at him with a mix of disbelief and exasperation. "He always has to find a way to complicate things," she thought.
—Do you really need to eat both? —he asked, without hiding his skepticism—. We can have ramen later, if that's that important to you. But right now, something light is better.
Naruto was about to respond with another argument in favor of ramen, but stopped when he noticed that Sasuki didn't seem willing to budge. He decided to change tactics, something he rarely did, but in this situation it seemed like the only viable option.
"Okay, okay," he said, raising his hands in surrender. Omusubi is fine for now. But just because I'm curious... what kind of omusubi do you like?
Sasuki looked at him for a moment, seemingly surprised by the question. She hadn't expected Naruto to be interested in her personal tastes, and a part of her was hesitant to share that information. However, the genuinely curious expression on Naruto's face made her reconsider.
"I prefer omusubi with okaka," she said simply. I don't like sweet things, so I avoid those filled with anko or fruits.
Naruto blinked, taking in the answer. "Okaka... I'm not sure I've tried that before," he thought as he leaned over to the nearby omusubi stand.
—Okaka, huh? —he repeated—. I've never tried that combination, but it sounds interesting. So you don't like sweet things?
Sasuki shook his head, not taking his eyes off the stall.
—Not much,— she admitted. — I prefer saltier or more acidic flavors. Sweets have always seemed... cloying to me.
Naruto nodded, filing that information away in his mind. Although Sasuki was usually reserved and difficult to read, this little exchange of personal tastes made him feel like he was starting to understand her a little better. "Maybe we're not so different after all," he thought, though he quickly shook his head so as not to delve too deeply into that idea.
"Interesting," he said with a smile, as they headed to the omusubi stand. I am the complete opposite. I love everything sweet, especially dango. Although now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever tried okaka. Could you recommend something I like?
Sasuki was surprised again by the honesty in Naruto's words. He had expected a sarcastic comment or a joke, but instead he found a genuinely open attitude to trying something new. feeling strangely disarmed by her disposition.
"You could start with a simple omusubi," she suggested, trying to keep his tone neutral. If you like the flavor, you can try different combinations. But if you like sweets, maybe you should start with one filled with salted plums.
Naruto grimaced when he heard about the salted plums.
"I'll try it, but I can't promise I'll like it," he said with a nervous laugh. I guess that's part of being a good teammate, right?
Sasuki nodded, although a small smile appeared on his lips at Naruto's willingness to try something outside of his comfort zone. "Maybe there's more to it than the endless fuss," he thought, as they placed their order at the omusubi stand. Naruto opted to try a variety of flavors, including one of okaka, while Sasuki chose her usual favorites.
They sat on a nearby bench to eat, and for a brief moment, the tension between them seemed to dissipate. The sun, already high in the sky, shone through the leaves of the trees, casting soft shadows on them. The air was filled with the scent of nearby flowers and the sound of market activity continued to vibrate around them.
Sasuki watched Naruto carefully as he tasted his omusubi, waiting for his reaction. "Let's see if he really likes it," she thought, though she couldn't help but feel a small spark of anticipation.
Naruto took a large bite and chewed slowly, evaluating the flavors. At first, his expression was neutral, but it slowly lit up with an approving smile.
—This is pretty good! —he said, surprised by his own reaction—. It's not ramen, but it has a good balance of flavors. Who would have thought okaka tasted good?
Sasuki watched him for a moment, feeling satisfied that Naruto liked something she had recommended.
"I told you," she replied calmly. Not everything has to be ramen to be good.
Naruto nodded, genuinely agreeing with her for the first time all day.
"Yes, you're right," he admitted. I think I could get used to this. Maybe we could experiment with different recipes at home.
Sasuki raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised by the suggestion.
—Are you saying you would cook something other than ramen? he asked, a hint of disbelief in his voice.
Naruto laughed, shaking his head.
"I won't say it wouldn't be difficult, but you could try," he replied. Besides, now that we live together, I guess we should try to make things work, right?
Sasuki didn't respond immediately, but his expression softened slightly. Although she wouldn't admit it, Naruto's willingness to adapt and try new things impressed her… it was unexpected. "Maybe working together won't be so difficult after all," she thought, although there was still a long way to go before she could completely trust him.
As they finished eating, a cool breeze blew gently, bringing with it a comfortable silence. Naruto and Sasuki found themselves enjoying this quiet moment, something they rarely shared. The rivalry had always been present, but that day, between the purchases and the small arguments, something seemed to have changed.
They both stood up from the bench, ready to continue shopping. Although the day was far from over, Naruto couldn't help but smile as he thought that perhaps, little by little, they were beginning to understand each other better.
—Ready to continue? Sasuki asked, Her tone more neutral, but with a hint of softness that Naruto couldn't help but notice.
-Of course! —Naruto responded enthusiastically, grabbing his bags and preparing for the next part of his 'mission'. "Maybe, after all this, I could even convince her to try ramen," he thought with a smile.
And so, among the bustling streets of Konoha, they continued their journey through the market, their steps in sync for the first time all day.
After finishing their meal, Naruto and Sasuki continued their tour of the Konoha market. The sun had already risen considerably, and the bustle of merchants and buyers grew more and more. The bright colors of the products and the intoxicating aromas of the food floated in the air, but neither of them were carried away by their surroundings. They had fallen into a comfortable rhythm, where they both knew when to give in and when to insist. Although small arguments kept breaking out, like when Naruto tried to sneak more packages of ramen onto the shopping list or when Sasuki flatly refused to let Naruto buy a kitchen knife just because "it had a cool design", it seemed like they had learned to work together.
Naruto, with his carefree nature, moved seamlessly through the crowd, greeting a few vendors with a bright smile, while Sasuki, although more reserved, kept her eyes fixed on her surroundings, making sure they didn't stray from her goal. However, something began to catch his attention.
Every time they passed by a group of people, Sasuki noticed how they moved slightly away, leaving them more space than usual. Some avoided making eye contact with Naruto, while others whispered among themselves, giving him furtive glances full of disdain. At first, Sasuki didn't think much of it. "They're probably busy or just don't want to be bothered," he thought, but the more he looked at it, the clearer the situation became.
Naruto continued forward without realizing it, or at least it seemed that way. He continued talking with his usual energy, commenting on the products they were buying or proposing ideas for decorating the house. "It's amazing how he can keep his spirits up despite everything," Sasuki thought, watching his unwavering enthusiasm.
Finally, during a stop at a spice stand, Sasuki decided that he could no longer ignore what was happening. As Naruto inspected a row of jars of spices, his overflowing curiosity made him sniff and observe each one as if it were a hidden treasure. Sasuki saw his opportunity to address the topic that had been on his mind.
—Naruto, have you noticed how people look at you? she asked, keeping her tone neutral but softer than usual, trying not to alarm him.
Naruto stopped in his tracks, holding a jar of curry in his hands, and turned his head towards her, blinking in confusion.
-Hey? What are you talking about, Sasuki? he asked, lowering the bottle slowly.
Sasuki crossed his arms, trying to find the right words. I didn't want to sound too critical, but I also couldn't keep pretending I didn't see what was happening.
"I mean, people... seem to avoid you," he finally said, watching her reaction. When we walk through the market, they move away, look at you in a strange way... as if they wanted to keep their distance. Haven't you noticed?
Naruto watched her silently for a moment, as if processing her words. Then, he simply shrugged, as if it were nothing important.
"Oh, that..." he replied, trying to sound nonchalant. Yes, I've noticed it, but it's something I'm used to. It's nothing new.
Sasuki frowned. I was not satisfied with that answer. "How can you be so calm about something like that?" he thought, trying to understand.
—Why do you think they do it? —he insisted, his tone more serious—. It doesn't make sense to treat you like this. You haven't done anything to deserve that attitude.
Naruto sighed and put the curry jar back in its place. His gaze softened as he turned to Sasuki, and for a moment, he looked older, more tired than he usually showed.
"I don't know exactly," he admitted with a slight smile, although it didn't reach his eyes. For as long as I can remember, people have always treated me that way. Even before I started making pranks and pranks, they were already looking at me like that, like... I don't know, like I was different or something.
Naruto's words resonated with Sasuki, leaving her with an uncomfortable feeling in her chest. She knew the feeling of being different, of being viewed with suspicion because of her last name and the history of her clan. However, the difference was that, despite the fear she inspired, she was respected. Naruto, on the other hand, was treated with hurtful indifference, and that infuriated her more than she wanted to admit.
—Has it never been explained to you? he asked, his voice dropping almost to a whisper. Have they never told you why they treat you like that?
Naruto shook his head, keeping his smile dull.
"No, never," he replied. At first, I tried to find out, but after a while, I just stopped asking. I guess I got used to it. It's easier to live with it when you don't think about it too much.
Sasuki felt something inside her squirm at Naruto's resigned acceptance. "It shouldn't be like this," he thought. "You shouldn't have to get used to being treated that way." The unfairness of the situation made her silently angry, but more than that, it made her want to do something about it. However, she knew that the answers wouldn't be easy to find, coming from Naruto.
"That's not right," he murmured, his voice filled with suppressed indignation. They shouldn't treat you like this, Naruto. You don't deserve it.
Naruto looked at her in surprise, as if he didn't expect anyone, least of all Sasuki, to care so much about his situation. Over the years, he had learned to handle it all with a smile and a joke, to minimize the pain he felt at being rejected. But hearing those words from Sasuki, who was usually distant and reserved, made him feel an unexpected warmth in his chest, a feeling he had almost forgotten.
"Thank you, Sasuki," he said softly, with a sincerity he rarely showed. It's nice to know that someone thinks that.
Sasuki nodded silently. There was no need for words at that moment. She knew Naruto had accepted that life, but that didn't mean she had to. Within her, a determination began to form, a desire to better understand what lay behind people's attitude towards Naruto and, perhaps, find a way to change it.
The silence between them was not awkward, but rather had an air of understanding. Despite their differences and rivalries, in that moment, Sasuki felt a connection with Naruto, an understanding that went beyond words.
Finally, Naruto broke the silence with a light laugh, trying to ease the tension.
"Well, let's not let that ruin the day, huh?" —he said with a smile—. We still have to finish shopping and who knows, maybe we'll find something great for the house. I'm still determined to find something you like, Sasuki!
Sasuki let out a sigh, though a small smile appeared on his lips.
"You have a strange ability to see the positive side in everything, Naruto," she said, with a tone somewhere between serious and amused. But okay, let's continue. We're not done here.
With that, they resumed their tour of the market, although Sasuki couldn't help but continue observing the people around him. He knew he couldn't change everyone's attitude in one day, but something inside told him that, given time, maybe he could help Naruto get the respect he deserved. "After all," she thought, "if he's not going to give up, I won't either."
Chapter 3: Shopping (Part 2)
Konoha Market was a bustling maze of stalls and shops that stretched for several blocks. After his conversation with Sasuki, Naruto tried to regain his usual spirits as they continued shopping. Sasuki, as usual, was focused and serious, carefully evaluating the supplies needed for the Senju residence at one of the stalls.
Naruto, on the other hand, felt his curiosity piqued when he passed by the Yamanaka flower shop. She remembered that she had met Inoichi Yamanaka, the clan leader, during a clan dinner, and although their interaction had been brief, she had felt a warmth from him. "It would be a good idea to come in and say hello," she thought, wanting to strengthen that new relationship.
"Hey, Sasuki," he said, stopping near her as she continued looking through the items at the stall. I'm going into the Yamanaka flower shop. I won't take too much time, I just want to say hello to Inoichi.
Sasuki looked up, evaluating the proposal for a brief moment before nodding.
"Okay," he responded neutrally, returning his attention to the supplies. Don't take too long. We have things to do
Naruto smiled, grateful that Sasuki didn't object. With his usual enthusiasm, he quickly headed towards the flower shop. Although he was used to interacting with the people of the village, he knew that relationships with important clans required a certain tact, and he wanted to make sure he made a good impression.
Arriving at the store, Naruto pushed the door, which made a soft jingle as it opened. He was greeted by a fresh and sweet fragrance filling the air, a stark contrast to the bustle and heat of the market outside. The flowers in vibrant colors and decorative plants gave the place a calm and cozy feel.
To Naruto's surprise, it was not Inoichi who received it, but his daughter, Ino. The young kunoichi was behind the counter, arranging some bouquets of flowers with a skill that showed her experience. When she looked up and saw Naruto, a mix of surprise and curiosity appeared on her face. Although she had known Naruto since the academy, his childhood antics had left a lasting impression.
"Oh, Naruto," Ino said, her tone somewhere between surprised and a little cautious. What are you doing here?
Naruto, always willing to break the ice, smiled widely and approached the counter.
"Hello, Ino," he greeted briskly. I was at the market and thought I'd stop by and say hello to your father. I met him recently and wanted to establish a good relationship... you know, as colleagues.
Ino raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued by Naruto's attempt to sound more formal, but also taken aback by the mention of 'partners'.
"My father is busy with clan business today," he responded as he arranged a bouquet of white roses, keeping his tone friendly but somewhat distant. So he left me in charge of the store. But I can pass on your greetings when I return.
Naruto nodded, although he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that he wouldn't be able to see Inoichi in person. However, he decided to take the opportunity to get to know Ino better. "After all, we are heirs, right?"
"Thanks, that would be great," he said with a smile, trying to sound more mature. And since we're here, I think it's a good time to formally introduce ourselves. I am Naruto Uzumaki, Konoha ninja. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ino.
Ino looked at him for a moment, surprised and amused at the same time. "Shall we formally introduce ourselves? What kind of game is this?" he thought, but decided to play along.
"I know you, Naruto," he said with a hint of amusement in his voice, though he extended his hand anyway. Ino Yamanaka, also a Konoha ninja. It's... interesting to see you outside of the academy.
Naruto shook his hand enthusiastically, feeling a little more comfortable now that they had had a more "formal" introduction.
"Yes, now that we're graduated ninjas, it's time to put the antics behind us and start taking things seriously," he said, though his eyes sparkled with that mischievous glint he could never completely hide. At least, most of the time.
Ino gave a soft laugh, continuing to work on the bouquet.
"We'll see if that's true," he responded in a playful tone. But it sounds like you're already trying to act more mature, and that's a good start.
Naruto was glad that Ino relaxed a little in his presence. For a few moments, they chatted about light topics, such as life after the academy and how they were handling their new responsibilities as ninjas. The talk was pleasant and Naruto, always curious, took the opportunity to ask about the flower shop and what it was like to work in the family business.
"It must be interesting to work here," he commented, looking at the flowers around him. I've never been very good with plants, but this place has a great atmosphere. Do you like working here?
Ino nodded, as she arranged some stems in a vase.
"Yes, I like it," he replied, his tone showing genuine pride. It is a quiet job and allows me to be close to my family. Furthermore, flowers have their own language. It's like... a different type of communication, something that also has to do with being a ninja, in a sense.
Naruto looked at her with interest. "I've never thought of it like that," he mused, impressed by Ino's perspective.
"That sounds great," he said. I guess being a ninja and working with flowers isn't so different after all. Both jobs require care and patience, right?
Ino nodded, smiling slightly.
"Exactly," he said. Both require dedication, although in different ways. But let's talk about you, Naruto. What brings you here besides saying hello to my father? I don't see you as someone who buys flowers.
Naruto laughed, scratching the back of his neck in some embarrassment.
"You're right, I'm not much for buying flowers," he admitted. But... I guess I also wanted to see how things were here. It's interesting to know a little more about what each clan does, you know? "Though I'm still not sure what's expected of me as a ninja... or as someone with... well, responsibilities," he said, hesitating a bit as he tried to explain his thought.
Ino, hearing that hesitation, looked up from the bouquet she was preparing. "Responsibilities? How interesting...he thought," his mind beginning to spin details. "What's going on in Naruto's head? He's never been the reflective type."
—Responsibilities? —he repeated with a curious tone—. What do you mean, Naruto? It's not like you to sound so... serious.
Naruto paused, feeling like he had said more than he intended. He shrugged with a forced smile, trying to play it off.
"Oh, nothing important," he said quickly. I'm just trying to think more about the future, I guess. You know, being a ninja and all that. But nothing to worry about, really.
Ino watched him carefully, evaluating his expression. "Naruto trying to be more responsible... that's new," he thought, although he decided not to push any further. He knew when to let things flow.
"Well, if you need advice on responsibility, you can always come here," he said, returning to his work. I'm no expert, but working at this store has taught me a lot about what it means to have responsibilities.
Naruto looked at her gratefully. Although their conversation hadn't been what he expected, he felt more relaxed. "Maybe it's not such a bad idea to come say hi more often," he thought.
"Well, actually, I was just exploring the market with Sasuki," Naruto admitted as he looked at the flowers decorating the store. We are buying some things for the house. I thought I'd stop by to see how you were and, you know, try to act more like a… teammate.
Ino looked at him with a more calculating expression, clearly intrigued by the mention of Sasuki.
"Sasuki Uchiha?" —he asked in a curious tone—. Are you buying things for the house… together?
Naruto nodded, although he tried his best not to make too much of the question.
"Yes, we're trying to fix up the house and make it more livable," he answered, his voice slightly evasive. Like a mission and teammates, of course.
Ino sensed Naruto's effort to downplay her words. "Interesting..." he thought as he continued arranging a bouquet of flowers. The thought of Naruto and Sasuki collaborating on more than just the typical ninja missions made her raise an eyebrow. Although her natural gossip mind began working at full speed, she decided not to push too hard. "For now," he told himself.
"It must be interesting to work with Sasuki," Ino commented, with a tone that was intended to be casual but full of curiosity. She's always been a little… distant. But I admire her a lot. She is strong, determined and never lets anything distract her from her goals. She is like a role model for many girls in the village.
Naruto, who was distracted looking at a small flower arrangement in the corner of the store, turned his head upon hearing the admiring tone in Ino's voice. To him, Sasuki had always been the cold and distant rival, the person he was constantly trying to outdo. She hadn't considered that other girls in the village saw her in that light.
—Do you really see her like that? he asked, genuinely interested. I mean, yeah, he's strong and all, but he can also be a little... well, difficult to deal with. We've had some friction since we started working together.
Ino laughed softly, a mix of understanding and amusement in her eyes.
"I'm not surprised at all," she said as she finished arranging a vase full of lilies. Sasuki has always been very focused and serious. It is not easy for her to open up to others. But believe me, with time, you will learn to appreciate those qualities. It's just a matter of patience and... well, understanding what motivates her.
Naruto nodded slowly, reflecting on Ino's words. She knew that Sasuki had her reasons for being the way she was, but hearing someone else speak of her with such respect made her reconsider some of the opinions she had formed. "Maybe I haven't understood her as well as I thought," he told himself, trying to find a new perspective.
"I guess you're right," he admitted after a moment. It's hard to get used to her way of being, but I'm starting to understand her better. I think we're both learning to work together and be... good teammates.
Ino smiled, watching Naruto's effort to be more understanding. Although Naruto had always been direct and enthusiastic, there was something about him that seemed to have changed, a maturity that was beginning to emerge in his words and actions.
"That's what you need in any relationship," Ino said, her words implying more than she was outright saying. Patience, understanding and mutual respect. If you can handle that, everything else will fall into place over time.
Encouraged by the talk, Naruto decided to extend his time in the store a little longer. There was something about the quiet atmosphere of the place that made him feel at ease, and besides, he was enjoying the conversation. While Ino finished arranging a bouquet, Naruto walked over to a shelf full of small pots and plants.
"You know, I never thought I'd be interested in flowers," Naruto commented, looking at the plants with a newfound appreciation. But since I started spending more time at home, I've realized that gardening isn't as boring as I thought. What's more, I like the idea of planting something pretty to brighten up the place.
Ino looked up, visibly shocked by what she had just heard.
-You? Interested in gardening? he asked, his tone a mix of disbelief and amusement. Are you serious?
Naruto scratched his head, a little embarrassed, but nodded enthusiastically.
-Yeah! —he stated with a smile—. There is a large garden in the house, and it was somewhat neglected. I thought it would be cool to try to revitalize it, plant some flowers, maybe even a small tree. I want it to look as impressive on the outside as it does on the inside.
Ino, who had grown up surrounded by flowers and gardens, felt genuine interest in Naruto's initiative. "I never imagined it like this, but it seems there's more to Naruto than I thought," she mused as she set the bouquet aside and approached him.
"Well, I never imagined you'd like something like gardening," he said with a smile. But it's a good idea. Do you have any idea what kind of plants or flowers you want to put in?
Naruto shrugged, looking at the flowers on the shelf with rookie eyes.
"I'm not too sure," he admitted. I thought of something that is easy to care for, since I don't want them all to die on the first try. But I also want them to look good and brighten up the garden. Do you have any recommendations?
Ino, seeing an opportunity to share her knowledge - and an easy customer - began to explain some options, her enthusiasm evident.
"Well, if you're looking for something easy to care for, you could start with succulents or cacti," he suggested, his voice reflecting his experience. They do not require much water and are quite resistant. But if you want flowers, I would recommend marigolds. They are durable and have bright colors that could bring life to the garden. You might also consider planting daylilies, they are perennials and bloom each year with minimal care.
Naruto nodded attentively, impressed by the amount of information Ino was giving him. "I had no idea there were so many options," she thought as she imagined the garden transformed into a space full of life and color.
"That sounds perfect," Naruto said, finally breaking the silence. I want the garden to be a place where you feel peaceful, something you can admire after a long day of training. Something that's...relaxing.
Ino, who had been watching closely the way Naruto spoke, smiled. There was something genuine about her desire, something that made her see the always energetic and carefree Naruto in a new light.
"That's a good goal, Naruto," she responded with sincere warmth in her voice. And if you need help choosing plants or caring for them, don't hesitate to stop by anytime. I will be happy to help you.
Naruto smiled back, grateful for his kindness and advice. In the past, he might have been more stubborn, insisting that he could handle everything alone. But now, he understood the value of accepting help from others, especially in something as unfamiliar to him as gardening.
—Thank you, Ino. "I really appreciate it," he said with an honesty that resonated in his tone. Taking care of something, watching it grow... it's different, but it also feels very good.
Ino nodded, surprised by the maturity Naruto was showing. "Wow, it looks like Naruto is really growing up," she thought. While they were talking, she decided to change the subject a bit, curious to know how Naruto was handling his life in the Senju residence.
"Speaking of taking care of things," Ino said as she picked up a pot with a small lily plant, "I wonder how you're handling life in that new house." It must be a big change for you, right?
Naruto nodded, his expression showing a mix of excitement and slight weariness.
"Yes, it's definitely a change," he admitted. It's exciting, but also a little complicated. I'm not used to living in such a big place. Sometimes... it's a little overwhelming.
Ino laughed softly, not entirely surprised by what Naruto was saying. "It's only natural that he feels that way," he thought, remembering how different it must be for him to be in such a spacious place after having spent most of his life in a small apartment.
Naruto smiled slightly, but made no further comment, preferring to leave the topic behind. Instead, he decided to focus on what he had learned from the conversation. "Ino's right," he mused. "It's a matter of patience and finding a way to make it work."
Ino noticed the change in the conversation and decided not to press further. "Anyway, I'll find out later what's happening," she thought to herself, her mind always ready to string together the little details she picked up.
After a bit more light conversation, Naruto decided it was time to buy some flowers for his garden. Under Ino's guidance, she carefully chose several pots of lilies, marigolds, and succulents. Every time Ino explained how to care for a plant or what conditions it needed, Naruto listened attentively, excited by the idea of planting and caring for his new garden.
"I think this will be a good start," Naruto said as he held up a pot with a small succulent. Thanks for all your help, Ino.
Ino, feeling genuinely glad to have helped Naruto, smiled warmly at him.
"I'm glad I could help you, Naruto," he said. I'm sure your garden will be beautiful over time. And if you ever need more plants or just want to chat, you know you're always welcome here.
Naruto nodded, appreciating her words. Before leaving, he stopped and picked out a particularly pretty flower he had bought. He held it for a moment, admiring its color and shape, before turning to Ino with a shy smile.
"This is for you, Ino," he said, handing her the flower. It's a small gift to thank you for all your help today. I hope it brightens your day.
Ino, surprised by the thoughtful gesture, accepted the flower with a genuine smile. The warmth of his expression was clear as he held the flower in his hands.
"Thank you, Naruto," she said, truly moved. I didn't expect such a kind gesture from you. Today you are different... calmer. I like to see you like this.
Naruto smiled, feeling a little more confident with his words.
"Maybe I am," he replied jokingly, though there was an underlying truth in his words. See you soon, Ino.
With that, Naruto said goodbye and left the store, carrying the flowers he had bought. As he walked through the streets of Konoha to continue his tasks, he felt more understood and valued. "It's not bad to worry about things other than training," he thought, feeling a renewed sense of purpose.
For her part, Ino remained thoughtful, looking at the flower that Naruto had given her. "I never thought the rambunctious boy from the academy could be so thoughtful," he mused. Although she still saw him as the mischievous boy she had known, she was beginning to recognize that there was more to Naruto than she imagined.
"Who knew? Naruto Uzumaki... changing before my eyes," Ino thought as she placed the flower in a small vase, a smile on her lips. It had been a day full of little surprises, and she was sure it wouldn't be the last time Naruto would leave her with something to think about.
Naruto was heading back to the meeting point with Sasuki, a smile on his face and a feeling of satisfaction in his chest. As he walked, the soft clink of the pots he carried in his arms accompanied the echo of his steps on the cobbled floor of the market. The flowers he had bought under Ino's guidance swayed gently with every movement, and Naruto couldn't help but feel excited at the thought of starting work on the Senju residence's garden. "It would be great if they grew to the ceiling," he thought with a spark of hope in his eyes.
The sun was setting behind the mountains surrounding Konoha, turning the sky a soft shade of orange that reflected Naruto's warm but tired optimism. Arriving at the stall where he had left Sasuki, he found her waiting for him with her arms crossed, her expression calm as she watched the crowd pass by. The bags of supplies he had purchased rested next to him. Seeing the flowers in Naruto's arms, an eyebrow rose on his face, but he didn't say anything at first. However, Naruto noticed a small spark of curiosity in her eyes, something that made him smile internally.
"You bought flowers," Sasuki finally commented, his tone neutral but with a slight tinge of interest. The gentle evening breeze lifted strands of her dark hair, but she barely noticed it, keeping her gaze fixed on Naruto.
Naruto nodded enthusiastically, holding the pots with both hands so Sasuki could see them better.
"Yeah, I thought it would be cool to breathe some life into the garden," he said, his voice vibrant with his signature energy. Ino helped me pick out some plants that are easy to care for and will look great in the house. What do you think?
Sasuki looked at the flowers for a moment, his eyes scanning the bright colors that contrasted with the more somber atmosphere of the market at that hour. After a few seconds, his expression relaxed a little.
"Sounds good to me," he said simply, although Naruto noted that there was no trace of criticism in his voice. Which in Sasuki was equivalent to a kind of tacit approval. If you're really going to garden, it's a good idea.
Naruto smiled, interpreting Sasuki's response as a small triumph. He knew she wasn't one to hand out praise easily, and that made her lack of criticism somehow a sign of approval.
-I will do that! he said determinedly, his voice firm but enthusiastic. I want the garden to be a place where we can relax after training and missions. Something that gives a little peace to the house.
Sasuki nodded slightly, although he didn't add anything else on the matter. As the two of them began to walk back to the Senju residence, the atmosphere in the market became calmer, with the lantern lights slowly turning on as the day came to an end. Naruto noticed that Sasuki seemed more relaxed than usual, almost as if she had let go of some of the tension that usually accompanied her. "Maybe he liked the flowers more than he said," she thought, unable to help a small smile.
However, what Naruto didn't know was that, while he had been at the flower shop, Sasuki had been dealing with another situation at the market. Since their previous conversation, he had begun to take a closer look at the way the people of Konoha treated Naruto. The whispers, the averted glances, the way the merchants seemed to avoid him... All of this had begun to irritate her deeply. Although he had always maintained an emotional distance, that indifference was shaken every time he saw the disdain with which some treated Naruto.
During her time alone, Sasuki had discreetly visited some of the stalls whose owners had more openly shown their disdain towards Naruto. He hadn't needed to raise his voice or resort to explicit threats. Few words, combined with the icy coldness in his gaze and the fame of his clan, was enough to make the merchants understand that he would not tolerate such contempt towards his "teammate". The reputation of the Uchiha Clan and the firmness of its stance were powerful weapons, and Sasuki used them without hesitation.
As he walked alongside Naruto, Sasuki reflected on what he had done. "Not that I care... but it's part of the team," he reminded himself. "If I don't defend him, who will?" Although she didn't consider him her friend in the deepest sense, there was something about Naruto that awakened a protective instinct in her that she hadn't expected. Perhaps, he thought, protecting his team was simply part of his responsibility, something he wouldn't take lightly.
Naruto, oblivious to what had happened, was still talking excitedly about his plans for the garden, imagining what it would look like once the flowers started blooming. His voice filled the silence of the falling night, as he described the colors, the aromas, and even the names of the plants he had chosen. Sasuki, although he didn't show it, was listening attentively, recognizing that this project was more than just a hobby for Naruto; It was a way to show that he was taking his new role in the house seriously.
As the path to the Senju residence grew shorter, the two fell into a comfortable silence, one that was not burdened by past tensions. Naruto, for his part, felt satisfied with the day. "Looks like things are getting better," he thought. Although he couldn't read Sasuki's thoughts, he felt that there was something different in the way she looked at him, as if he had gained a little space in her closed world.
Arriving at the house, Naruto headed straight to the garden, eager to start working. Sasuki, in her reserved style, followed him, keeping a safe distance away as she watched as he began to dig up the soil and place the pots in strategic locations. Although she didn't show it, she was impressed by the dedication Naruto showed. "He's more persistent than he seems," she thought as he watched her work with infectious enthusiasm.
After a while, Sasuki decided to leave him alone in the garden and headed inside the house to start organizing the supplies he had bought. As he put away the kitchen utensils and other items, he couldn't help but let his mind drift back to the events at the market. The way he had acted, standing between Naruto and those who despised him, made her think. "It's not something I usually do," he reflected. But there was something about Naruto, his constant optimism and desire to do things right, that had awakened in her a sense of justice, a need to protect him, even if it was in a way she herself didn't fully understand.
Naruto, for his part, continued working in the garden until the daylight began to fade. The sound of birds returning to their nests and the rustle of the wind in the trees provided a calm background to their work. Despite the tiredness he felt, there was a deep satisfaction within him, the kind of exhaustion that comes with a job well done. "This is going to look great," he thought as he cleaned up his tools and prepared to enter the house.
Upon entering, he found Sasuki in the kitchen, preparing something simple for dinner. He greeted her with a smile, feeling that the usual tension between them had eased, even if it was just a little.
—How was the garden? Sasuki asked without looking up from what he was doing, his tone neutral, but not disinterested.
"It's going well," Naruto responded with satisfaction. I think it's going to look great when everything starts to grow. Thanks for not criticizing my choice of flowers, by the way. I thought you would say something about it.
Sasuki looked up briefly, his eyes showing a faint spark of something that might have been humor, though he quickly hid it.
"I had no reason to criticize him," he said simply. You're doing a good job, Naruto. Besides, it's your project, not mine.
Naruto smiled at the comment, feeling that he had somehow managed to overcome an invisible barrier. He took a seat at the kitchen table, his spirits lighter than before.
"Still, it's nice to know that at least I'm not wrong about everything," he said with a hint of jest in his voice, searching for Sasuki's gaze.
Sasuki didn't respond immediately, but Naruto could tell that the atmosphere between them was more relaxed than usual. As they ate dinner in silence, each lost in their own thoughts, Naruto realized that, although it had been a long day, it had been satisfying.
When they finished eating, Sasuki got up to wash the dishes, while Naruto sat for a moment, enjoying the quiet atmosphere of the kitchen. He knew there was still a lot to do, both at home and in his relationship with Sasuki, but for the first time in a long time, he felt like they were on the right path. "Maybe, just maybe, this is going to work," he thought before getting up to help her, ready to face whatever came next.
This chapter was... the worst, not in the normal sense of the word, but when writing it I always ended up dissatisfied with the result, I erased everything, saved small cuts and wrote about them again.
You'll notice how at the end I even took clips from later chapters—
