"Is he already here?"

"Yes. He is here."

"Great! We can finally start our crusade. You lot must make sure to capture as much as possible. Leave no soul alive!"

"""Aye!"""

The cultists cheered as Langdedrosa gave his orders.

Langdedrosa was not here for just some good kills, he wanted to collect the best warriors for himself as well. A good fight was all what he needed as it had been a while since he met an honorable fighter.

He stared at the cultists, who were looking at the Greenest with bloodlust and other forms of lust. It was a rare opportunity for them too, as they had gotten this favorable opportunity under his watchful eyes. And he was extremely disgusted by that. It felt truly wrong to just kill some promising future warriors for the sake of money. Alas, he had no better plans to collect as much as he could.

"What a terrible plan..." He muttered under his breath, letting nobody to hear his words.

Landedrosa was a blue half-dragon and with his draconic bloodline, came the draconic personality as well. He had no problem killing the innocents, but if they were promising individuals and striving hard in battles, then he felt conflicted to kill them. All his life he made sure to leave the ambitious and honorable people who strive hard for the betterment of their life or the loved ones.

There was a special place in his heart for such people.

This town too was growing into a well-made city and the people of this city were doing their best to become more strong on their own. And he liked this characteristic of the town. But at the end of the day, he also could not leave the orders of his superiors. Especially, if this was for the sake of his patron deity Tiamat.

"Tch, what a waste..." He did not feel any delight in his task, but it could not be helped.

"Give him the signal. I don't want to waste my precious time over some nobodies." Just as he commanded, the archers shot the enchanted arrows from their quivers. These arrows had the spell of invisibility once they were shot. It was thus ability of these arrows that made them lethal. They were further dipped in poison extracted from dangerous nagas. It was almost impossible to survive these arrows with low level spells alone.

The guards who were killed by him and the mages from his side, had weakened the defenses of the Greenest. It was a matter of time when his group would have easier time raiding this town. The rogues would kill some unnecessary people. They were paid handsomely to leave the women and children as they were important to sell them off in the Thay slave market.

"Hmm, seems like they are panicking already. Lenninthon may have smelled the blood of the first kil—"

"Lord Landedrosa! We have an urgent report to pass!"

His words died as one of the cultists broke through the formations. He looked terrified about something.

"What is it? An adventurer group is coming? Tell our Illusionists to handle them, and send some evokers to weaken their strengths. I will soon follow."

"It's not about that. The adventurer group named Blue Roses is also in the city. And it looks like they have joined the battle already."

"What?!" Now that was a good shock for him. As he realized that there was one mistake in their plan.

"Tch, send Leninthon to handle those girls. In the mean time, take as much money as you can. If they have someone in their group with Teleport spell, then we are finished. I don't want to handle multiple adventurer group in the middle of our plan."

His orders were correct. While the Dragon Cult had their fare share of dragons, it would be a losing battle if multiple adventurers joined the battle as well.

In the worst case scenario, a bunch of metallic dragons would be caught up in their plan with their own agendas. It would not be a pretty scenario. And while the chances ofvoccuring such scenarios were low, he was not a man who liked to take risks greater than he could handle.

Though he had a trump card of his own, calling that witch would be disastrous here.

Before he could leave his position, a frightful aura engulfed his whole group. It was a suffocating presence that seemed similar to Ancient Dragons, but more malevolent and disturbing. And it came from the sky above.

Pulling some courage in his heart, the Langdedrosa slowly creeped his head up in the sky, as his gaze searched this source of evilness. However, there was nothing in the sky. Not even a bird. For a moment, he considered it to be some sort of spell that induced this frightful presence. Normally, mages of higher echelon would play with others through mind-affecting spells.

But he quickly dismissed that thought. He and his troop had defenses against the mind magic spells.

Spells...

Suddenly, he realized the mistake in his logic. The items that they wore were protecting them from the mind magic spells. However, if the source of this presence was not magical in nature, then their items would be useless. Before he could act on this piece of information, a boisterous laugh reached his ears.

"Hahaha... to think that I will get some free dragon loots right here, it must be my lucky day!"

Just after he heard that announcement, his consciousness went black and he fell down.

Meanwhile, the Greenest Town was going through another trouble.

The town was overrun by rogues and mages who were killing the men one by one. They were not showing any mercy to women and children too, despite being ordered to not kill them. But who could argue with the fantics of evil deities, as their sole goal was to make their respective gods happy with the free sacrifice.

Of course, there were some who captured the women and children for sake of easy money and fun. Then there were those who directly stole from the houses, and ransacked the town's merchant guilds.

The chaos did not last long as the spear of crystal stuck inside the heads of some rogues.

"And they say that there are no big issues in this area." Keno said with a sarcastic tone, as another crystal spear sprang out of her palm.

The attention of rogues went to her, as they decided to kill her while they still had advenatage in sheer number, and before she got any upper hand here.

However, she was prepared to deal with them.

"[Reverse Gravity]"

The 7th level spell which covered a good chunk of area and reversed the direction of gravity instantly. The rogues and mages did not get the time to maintain the balance, as they started to fall upwards.

Keno didn't stop there. She cast another spell to transmutate the ground where they were about to fall into oil.

As they were falling down, Keno used a quickened Fireball spell to ignite flames on the oil-transmutated ground, causing the rogues and mages to fall in the burning lake of fire.

Unfortunately, some mages survived the fall, as they had enveloped themselves with magical wards and guards. They evoked the spells of thunder, fire and many elemental attacks, but it was all fruitless. Keno came prepared and her Globe of Invulnerability worked well to protect her. She wanted to end this fight as fast as she could, but there were still some civilians around her. It was possible that they could fall in the crossfire of her fight.

"Run away! This place is going to be dangerous for you all."

Her cries were answered immediately, as a blue-scaled dragon soon appeared in the battle. He smirked at Keno arrogantly and announced himself to be her next opponent.

"Well, it seems that there are some good quality meatbags in this town. Let's see how long you persist."

"Goddammit!"
