Odette and Madison flew slowly as they made to the abandon castle and the lake. Madison was relief she and her friend have made it, but as she looked at the princess with concern, she notices that Odette is about to fade. But down on land, close to the lake, the animals now noticing that they have arrived.
"There they are!" Jean-Bob pointed as he, Speed, Zor, and Puffin looked up to see them coming, but then saw Odette as she looks weaker.
"Something's wrong with the princess." Zor spoke as he looked concern.
"I don't think she's gonna make it." said Speed as he looks worried.
"This way, Odette!" said Jean-Bob.
"Oh, keep coming, girl… Come on now." said Puffin.
Odette's wings touched the water but went past lake and landed somewhere.
"Guys, something's wrong with Odette! She's not too feeling well!" said Madison as she followed her friend.
The animals quickly followed them and went to the bushes. To their surprise, they saw Madison with Odette who was lying on the ground... dying. Suddenly, a flash of light came around the girls including Madison's necklace. The lights were mixing together around them, but it faded, Madison looked at herself and the princess as they were turned back into their normal, human selves.
"Maddie..." Odette spoke with a weak voice as her hand was reaching out to her.
Madison gently took her hand and looked at her with such worrisome.
"I'm here Odette. Just hold on." she replied softly to her.
A moment later, Derek and Alex finally made it to the castle but couldn't see the girls by the lake. They looked around to see where they are until they spotted the animals near the bush. Zor saw his master appeared and quickly climbed up to his shoulder.
"Master, you're finally here." said Zor as he spoke to him.
"I'm alright, Zor." he replied to him but as he looked at the other direction, he saw Madison but with the dying princess. "Derek..."
Derek heard his name being hollered by his friend, but as looked to where the girls are, he now looked distraught as he saw Odette on the ground.
"Odette!" he spoke with a soft cry and starts rushing towards her.
Madison saw Derek coming over and quickly moved back. Behind her, Alex sat beside her as the two watched the prince carefully picked the princess up and held her gently.
"Oh, what have I done to you? Forgive me, Odette… Forgive me." he whispered.
"Derek..." a voice spoke that was coming from Odette but sounded weakly.
Derek looked at her and smiled. ""Yes, Odette? I'm here."
"Derek… I feel so weak. I think I'm…"
"No, you'll live, Odette. The vow I made was for you."
Odette weakly smiled at him as she places her hand on his cheek.
"I know. I love you, Derek." she said.
Derek smiled softly to her, but with those final words from her, her body grew limp and lifeless, leaving the prince heartbroken as he gently laid her down.
"Odette… Odette! Odette!" he cried but it was too late, she was gone.
Madison felt tears streaming down her face as she watched the scene. Alex held his girlfriend close to her in comfort as Madison begins sobbing. Even Zor felt sad as he crawled to his mistress's shoulder and nuzzle her cheek for comfort.
"I made the vow for her. Do you hear? The vow I made was for her!" Derek shouted in grief.
"No need to shout." a voice spoke.
Derek, Alex, Madison, and Zor looked up to see that Rothbart, standing a few feet from them. All four glared at him with rage. Zor feels like he wants to breath fire at him, Madison wanted to do something with her powers to attack him, but Derek got to him first as his blood boils and starts walking towards him.
"Don't let her die!" the prince growled at him.
""Is that a threat?" the dark wizard smirked at him.
"Don't you dare let her die!" Derek shouted as he grabbed him.
"Oh, it is a threat." "
You're the only one with the power. Now do it!" he commanded but Rothbart pushed him.
"Only if you defeat… me." said Rothbart.
Madison, Zor, Alex, and Derek watched as Rothbart used his powers for something and a glow appeared around him. A flash of light suddenly appeared until it faded. All four did shield their eyes from the bright light, but as they looked up to see the dark wizard... He wasn't there, but in his place was a monstrous beast at the spot as it opened its wings and let out a screeching roar. Alex got a good look at the creature and realized that it was the same beast that took Madison from the beginning.
"Rothbart..." Madison spoke softly as he looked at the creature. "He's..."
"The Great Animal." Derek finished the sentence as he remembers it was the dark wizard who took Odette and killed King William.
"I'm betting on the animal." said Jean-Bob as he was with the animals who looked shocked and scared.
The fight between the beast and the prince now began. Derek tries to draw his sword out, but the creature got to him first as his claw pinned him down. The prince did drop his sword, but he grabbed a handful of dirt and throw it at its face. He finally got free and quickly grabbed his sword, but as the animal was getting close to him, Derek swinged the blade, and it hit the beast's wing. The Great Animal snared at the wound and glared at Derek.
"I won't let her die!" he yelled.
The creature somehow smirked at him and starts flapped his wings as he flew up to the sky. Alex quickly helps Madison up and took for cover as the two along with Zor were hiding, but both the Bearded Dragon and his mistress felt as though they needed to help the prince. Derek stood silent, holding his sword, and wait for the beast to approach.
There was silence around until... the creature popped out of nowhere from the trees as the branches were flying off. He finally got to Derek as he pinned him down again, grabbing the sword from his beak and broke the blade into pieces. Derek quickly grabbed a huge rock that was beside him and slammed it on the beast's claw, causing him to let go.
Zor watched as if the Great Animal was about to win. He won't let that happen. He cannot have his master's friend lose the battle. He starts feeling this power inside of him. His dragon power, but other than that, the jewel on his collar was glowing as well. He quickly got off of Madison's shoulder and scurried out of the hiding spot.
"Zor?!" Madison hollered for him, "Zor, what are you doing?"
The Bearded Dragon heard his mistress's voice, but he didn't reply. He starts rushing towards the beast and as a glow came around him. The lizard grew bigger and bigger and, on his back, grew wings. Madison watched as she realized what her friend was doing as the glow faded. Zor was back to his dragon-self as he started to attack the Great Animal.
"Zor..." she spoke softly.
Alex was shocked to see the Bearded Dragon turned into a Dragon. To his thoughts, he finally gets to see Zor's dragon form. The other animals, however, saw Zor scurried towards the creature. They thought he was crazy to out to fight, but as they saw him turned into a dragon, they were completely shocked as their jaws dropped.
"He wasn't kidding about him being really a dragon." Jean-Bob spoke.
As Zor kept the beast bust with the fighting, Madison and Alex quickly ran towards Derek to help him up.
"Are you okay?" Madison spoke to him.
"Yeah. I'm alright. But now it seems I have to face two monsters."
"Don't worry about the dragon. He's on our side." she said to him and Derek looked at her with confusion.
"What do you mean?"
"Because that dragon is Zor." Alex replied and Derek looked at him.
"Zor...? You mean that little lizard...?"
Both Madison and Alex nodded their heads and all three looked back at the two fighting.
Zor tried scratching the beast with his claws and breaths fire at him, but the Great Animal dodge from the attack. The Great Animal flew around the dragon, trying to see where he can hit a weak spot, but Zor starts blowing fire at him, causing some of the creature's fur to be singed. That was causing the beast to be furious as he used his talons to scratch the dragon.
Derek, Madison, Alex, and the animals watched as the two kept fighting, but to Madison's worry, she notices that Zor is losing the round.
"Zor is in trouble. I have to do something." said Madison as she was about to take another step but was stopped by Alex.
"No, Maddie. Don't!"
"But Alex... He... I..."
"It's too dangerous. I can't lose you again."
Madison looked at him as she saw the devasted look on him. They have been separated for a bit, but they are together, but...
Suddenly, her thoughts were snapped back in reality as she heard Zor shrieking with pain. She looked up and saw Zor falling down to the ground with a loud thud.
"Zor!" Madison cried as she rushed towards him.
Alex tried to stop her but she's already close to the dragon. Just when he was about to go to her, both of the boys looked up to see the Great Animal charging towards them and the two quickly made a run from it.
The animals watched in horror and but worried to see their new friend got knocked out from the fight. They wished they could do something, but they couldn't cause they're small until Puffin just realized something.
"The bow! Derek's bow!" he mentioned to his friends and grabbed Jean-Bob. "Swim to the bottom of the lake and get the bow!" he said to him and threw the frog into the lake.
Which caused Jean-Bob to scream until he splashed into the water.
The boys tried to make a run from the beast, but the Great Animal got too close to them and grabbed the prince with his claw.
"Derek!" Alex shouted as the beast took him higher into the sky.
The prince tried to break loose, but as the creature let go of him, he fell but was picked up by the beast again, throwing him like a toy. Derek landed on a tree and quickly grabbed a branch, swinging it side to side at the beast.
Madison was soothing her dragon as she notices his collar was glowing. Know that it was healing him. But as she looked back to where the beast was attacking the boys, she has to do something. Seeing her boyfriend in trouble, her emotions become boiled mad after what Rothbart has done. First, he kidnapped her, turned her into a swan, threatened her after lying to him about the necklace, had her and Odette locked up, trying to trick Alex but tricked Derek, causing Odette to die, and now he attacks her friends and her boyfriend.
The Great Animal flew around the unconscious prince as he was on the ground, but then looked at Alex. He starts flying towards him until a flash of beam hit him.
"Leave him alone!" Madison voice shouted from the distance.
The creature stopped his pace and then turned to where Madison is. In front of the lake staring at him. Suddenly, he saw a glow on her chest. Realizing that it was the necklace. He starts flying towards her, having his talons out from his claws to reach her. Madison quickly her arms out and blast beam at the creature, causing him to fly backwards.
Once she lowered her arms down, something else have happened. Her eyes turned glowing yellow with a hint of green. Alex stood his ground as he looked at her girlfriend even Zor looked at, he gained conscious. The gem on Madison's necklace began to glow and a bright light appeared all around her. The form of her body has gotten bigger and bigger, but as the light faded, both Zor and Alex, even the animals, looked shocked at to what they just saw.
A dragon. A gold and silver dragon that was flapping her wings and stared at the Great Animal. The rest realized that it was Madison. She must have used the power of change to turn into something that could fight the beast.
While the two began their round, Jean-Bob swam deep into the lake and found Derek's bow. He quickly swam towards it and tried to pick it up, but the bow was stuck to the ground. With all his strength, the frog tried to pull it out, but it wouldn't budge until something picked him and the bow up. He looked down and saw Speed, swimming fast towards the surface with the bow and the frog. As the two finally got to the surface, they saw the beast that was fighting another dragon, but it was actually Madison.
"Throw it! Oh, throw it, throw it!" Puffin shouted.
Speed starts throwing the bow and flew along with Jean-Bob. They made it close to the prince, but then the frog looked up to see the creature is about to get closer to the prince, but Madison tries pulling him back. Jean-Bob quickly got close to Derek's face and starts waking him up.
"Wake up, wake up! Allo!"
Finally, the prince opened his eyes. He didn't notice the frog but saw his bow.
"Good luck!" said Jean-Bob as he hopped away.
Derek quickly grabbed his bow but realize that he didn't bring any arrows. He sees that the beast is getting closer, but saw another dragon as she kept on pulling the creature back until...
"Oh please…" a familiar voice spoke.
"Brom?" his head turned to see a wet Bromley doing the Catch-and-Fire.
The average man somehow finally had the gut to escape his prison cell as swim through the hole that the girls escaped from. He was finally free but was shaking as he had his bow and arrow set. Madison however, noticed him there and used her dragon hearing to wait for the word as she still holding onto the beast.
"Oh, please oh please oh please… Now!" he shouted as shoots the arrow towards Derek and Madison quickly let go of the creature.
Derek quickly turned, caught the arrow from his hand, and shoots the arrow at the beast.
The creature shrieked in pain as the arrow was on his chest. Everyone watched as the creature fell into the lake and then a blast of light exploded and fades away. Rothbart, who was The Great Animal, was no more.
It was finally over. The battle has won victoriously for the good guys. Bromley somehow fainted after the action happened and the animals cheered for victory and the fall of Rothbart. As Zor finally got up from his feet, Alex stood close to him and petted him until the two looked up at the golden dragon. She starts landing on the ground with grace until the light swirled around her. The figure has gotten smaller to a human size until it faded.
Madison was back to her normal self but realized she was smoking. She quickly patted herself all over, trying to get smoke to cool down until she realized something about her dress. She wasn't wearing the iridescent dress she wore before, but a gold and silver dress with some white and the sleeves were long and skinny. She also noticed that on the fabric looked like scale designs. Madison gives herself a twirl as she liked the new look but then looked at Alex and Zor.
She spoke nothing at all except a smile on her face and quickly dashed off towards them. Alex quickly ran to her and the two embraced with a hug and shared a kiss. Zor got close to his mistress and nuzzled her cheek. Madison giggled as she felt his scales tickling her cheek and then hugged her dragon. She felt whole again as the three are together, but then something else came to her mind. She looked at the direction to where Derek and Odette are at and starts walking towards them along with Alex and Zor.
They, along with the animals, came over to see Derek holding Odette in his arms and spoke something to her.
"Forgive me, Odette… Forgive me. I only wanted to break the spell, to prove my love. I love you for your kindness and courage, I always have." he said as he kissed her forehead and held her tightly gentle.
Everyone bowed their heads in silent as they were sad to see their friend gone until...
"Derek?" a voice spoked.
Derek looked at the princess and saw that her eyes are opened.
"Odette!"
"Oh, Derek!" she smiled and embraced her prince.
The group were now happy to see her alive and okay until Odette noticed Madison with Alex and Zor. Both of the girls smiled as Madison sat down beside her and the two embraced.
"We did it, Odette. We won! The spell is broken, Rothbart's gone, and now we're free." she said to her friend.
Odette smiled and hugged her friend again but whispered something to her.
"Thank you, Maddie." she spoke.
Madison thought about why she was thanking her for, but then realized for Madison has been loyal and been by the princess's side for days. Even being cursed. After the two stopped hugging, Odette looked back at Derek and embraced him again and then kissed.
Madison, her boyfriend, along with her friends, watched the sweet moment until she heard what Puffin spoke with soft tone.
"Well, there you have it. Everlasting love."
