Meanwhile, on a beach overlooking the sea that separated the mainland to a small island in the Far Eastern Side of Mobius, a young female light blue colored dragon with peach details on her wings and body, looked out over the sparkling ripples, a contented look on her face.

She closed her eyes as the sun beamed down on her face and she smelt the salty air.

In the five years since the defeat of Robotnik, Dulcy had never taken one single day for granted. Since she was just a young dragon, she had assisted Sonic and Sally with the Freedom Fighters when Robotnik still had everyone under his iron fist. She remembered those years like yesterday, first meeting the Freedom Fighters after spending many weeks flying away to escape the evils of Robotnik and his evil machines that captured and either killed or enslaved her clan. Since joining the Freedom Fighters, she had become a very valuable asset to the team due to her ability to fly, her super strength, ice, and fire breath.

After the defeat of Robotnik, Dulcy was able to locate her missing family members and brethren including her mother Sabina and with the help of Sir Charles Hedgehog's fully functioned de-roboticizer was able to free them from robot enslavement. In the five years of peace, Dulcy and her breather were able to reclaim their home and get their lives on track, yet they still remained valuable friends and assets to the Freedom Fighters, and Dulcy was even made a member of Sally's Royal Council and would often step in as an educator to the younger Mobians, whether they be Mobotropolin or the younger dragons of her clan.

The other thing Dulcy loved to do was give people rides on her back, especially those in Mobotropolis when she visited either on royal business or pleasure, and since she heard of Sonic and Sally having their first child, she couldn't wait to bond with them and give them a ride on her back like she did with many others.

As she sat there daydreaming, Dulcy soon saw another dragon flying above the water, this one was an olive-green dragon with sandy colored details on her body and wings.

As the dragon flew closer, she waved to her and Dulcy was overjoyed to see it was her mother Sabina.

"My Dear Dulcy! Good morning! I had a feeling I would find you here!" Sabina called as she flew over and landed with ease on the beach next to her daughter.

"Hello mother!" Dulcy replied leaning over and hugging her mother, "Such a beautiful day, is it not?"

"Oh yes it certainly is!" Sabina smiled "And how are you? Is everything okay?"

"I am fine." Dulcy answered, looking back at the sea "I was just sitting here and thinking about how in the five years since the defeat of Robotnik how things are so much better!" She grinned at her mother "I never thought in all the years we were fighting a war that we'd be here today!"

"I can say the same for myself." Sabina agreed "Never again did I think we would all be here again on our beloved homeland!"

"Yeah! And freeing our people from robot enslavement!" Dulcy said, "Thanks to Chuck's de-roboticizer!"

"It was such a long time coming!" Sabina continued "Something I honestly didn't know would come to pass!"

Dulcy sighed with a nod. "It seems like only yesterday I was helping Sonic and Sally in Knothole, feeling so alone as the only one of our brethren who wasn't either dead, or under Robotnik's metal fist!"

As she spoke, Dulcy felt a lump in her throat as she remembered feeling so lost and alone before she found Knothole and the Freedom Fighters and Sonic and Sally offered her a place of sanctuary as well as a chance to help fight against the man who took so much from her.

Looking at her daughter's face, Sabina's face softened.

"I can't tell you the nights I used to cry myself to sleep, wondering if I was going to be alone forever, or if I would ever see you again." Dulcy spoke again, this time a single tear falling from her eye.

"Aww honey!" Sabina soothed, lifting her hand, and placing it on Dulcy's head, a comforting act she often did when Dulcy was a hatchling.

Dulcy smiled gratefully and leaned into her mother's hand, appreciating the comfort.

"It's true." She said, "When I wasn't able to sleep, I would go and sit by the Ring Pool, the best place to go and think, as it was one of the safest and most quiet places in Knothole, or I would fly above the forest and gaze at the stars, wondering if our friends and family were amongst them."

"And your prayers and thoughts were answered, weren't they?" Sabina asked.

"They were…yeah." Dulcy said quietly. "I had a feeling that you were still alive mother, along with others, I never gave up hope! And I'm glad for that!"

Sabina smiled at her daughter, then she looked solemn as painful memories came to her. "During the time I was roboticized, I had no control over my actions, I saw what I was doing, but was powerless to stop it."

Dulcy nodded as she remembered.

"I recall you telling me." She said, "Not just from you, but the other slaves, I can't imagine it, seeing the destruction, being forced to hurt those you love, and have no control!" She shivered slightly in fright.

"It was one of the most painful experiences of my life." Sabina said "Being forced to commit such atrocities and not be able to do a thing about it, the other was being separated from you."

"I'm sorry you had to go through all that mother." Dulcy said as she leaned on her shoulder. "I can't even imagine it."

"It's quite alright my little Dulcy." Sabina soothed. "That dark time is in the past, and we can all look towards the future."

"Oh yes, thank goodness!" Dulcy agreed with a nod. "And speaking of the future, I'm so excited for Sonic and Sally!"

"Oh yes!" Sabina chuckled. "The soon to be parents!"

"Everyone's talking about it!" Dulcy grinned as she clapped her hands. "I especially can't wait! Half of the Freedom Fighters and the Royal Court are making bets on whether they'll have a boy or a girl! I hope they get a girl!"

"Indeed!" Sabina said. "I too am curious as to what gender the child will be as well!"

"Oh gosh yes!" Dulcy squealed. "It's so exciting! In fact, Sally even told me she wants me to be an honored auntie, along with Amy, Bunnie, Mina and Julie-Su!"

"Oh, that's wonderful hun!" Sabina smiled. "I'm sure you'll be an amazing auntie to the little one!"

"I hope so too mother!" Dulcy said. "I can't wait to take the little one flying! And I will make sure I land carefully!"

Sabina laughed heartily.

"Oh make sure you do!" she said wagging a finger at her daughter playfully. "You have gotten much better at your landing over the years!"

Dulcy laughed.

"I'm proud I managed to sort that out!" she chuckled. "All those crash landings, scrapped knees and bruises!"

"Those were the days!" Sabina reminisced.

"Yeah!" Dulcy agreed. "Even though I used to feel bad as well as ashamed about it back then, now, I could laugh!"

"You've come a long way, my little Dulcy!" Sabina said stroking her daughter's head.

"Thanks mother! "Dulcy smiled.

Sabina patted her daughter then looked out towards the sea then stretched out her arms and wings. "Well then, now that I've found you, shall we go and meet with the others?"

"Sure thing mother!" Dulcy agreed, standing up and stretching out her arms, wings and tail.

"Then let us be on our way!" Sabina said then crouched and lifted herself into the air, flapping her wings hard, Dulcy not far behind.

As soon as Dulcy launched herself into the air, she grinned as she felt a sense of adrenaline and excitement as she soared over the winds.

"Doesn't the wind feel wonderful Dulcy?" Sabina called over.

"It sure does Mother!" Dulcy called back. "If not better now Mobius is free!"

"The feeling of freedom!" Sabina agreed. "Even after all these years, it's still the most amazing feeling!"

"Couldn't agree more!" Dulcy called then cried out with joy as she started to twirl through the air like an airborne ballerina.

"Wow!" Sabina cried seeing her daughter's stunt. "Look at you!"

Dulcy didn't reply but spun faster and cried out with joy before doing a loop the loop.

Sabina clapped as she watched her daughter, so happy to see her having fun, despite being almost a full-grown dragon, she was still a child at heart.

"It's so exhilarating!" Dulcy cheered as she did another spin in the air. "In the free world!"

"That we are my dear!" Sabina agreed as she watched her happy daughter.

"Free!" Dulcy cheered opening her arms and calling out into the sky "Free forever from that evil man!"

Sabina laughed then feeling the same playfulness as her daughter after watching her, she decided to fly around her.

Dulcy saw her mother start to join in, then she decided to get mischievous and started to dive towards the sea, Sabina instantly followed her and the two dragons flew down then just before they hit the water, they flew up and skimmed over it, sending up some spray as they did so.

At the same time, Sabina used her wings to flick a bit of water at Dulcy, to which her daughter laughed and did a few spins, sending up more water to which Sabina did the same and soon they were splashing each other with water as they flew together.

After a few minutes of playing, Sabina looked up and saw two more dragons, one was a bright green with olive details on her body and wings, whilst the other was a darker green with emerald details on her body and wings.

"Oh gosh! Looks like we got company my dear Dulcy!" she said before flying upwards.

"We do?" Dulcy questioned following her mother's gaze and she soon saw who her mother was looking up at.

"Aunt Raya and Cousin Callista!" Dulcy cried in joy.

"I believe it is!" smiled Sabina as the two new dragons flew down to join them.

"Sister Raya, my niece Calista!" Sabina smiled joyfully. "How wonderful to see you!"

"And to you too sister!" the bright green dragon grinned. "And Dulcy! My dear brave niece!"

"Hi Aunt Raya! Hi cousin Calista" Dulcy cried.

"Aunt Sabina!" Calista grinned. "Cousin Dulcy! It looks like you were having a fun time down there!"

"That we were!" Sabina smiled. "Been a while since we had a little goof off time!"

"We saw!" Raya laughed. "It has been a while!"

"We were on our way back to the rest of the clan, but decided to have a little fun!" Sabina said.

"And why not indeed?" Raya agreed. "It's so wonderful to fly freely since the days of the war!"

"Days that have long since been put behind us all!" Sabina stated.

Raya smiled but it soon faded as her mind began to wonder. "Yes indeed! But yet…"

"Yet?" Dulcy asked cocking her head on one side.

"I still have my fears." Raya confessed. "That evil man's body was never found."

Sabina swallowed hard.

It was true, as a lot of people said they felt fears as Robotnik and Snively were never found after Sonic and Sally destroyed the Doomsday Machine. Even though the Freedom Fighters and GUN had searched the area, there was no trace of them, not even bones which either made people think they had been obliterated, or the slim chance they were able to escape and were hiding somewhere they couldn't be located.

"Still worried, are you?" Sabina asked.

Raya nodded. "It's a niggling feeling I can't shake off, no matter what I do or think."

"But mother." Calista said. "It's been almost five…six years, and there's been nothing."

Sabina nodded.

"Agreed!" Dulcy quipped "There's no way that monster and his midget assistant Snively can still be alive, not with the all the eyes and ears around since the time of peace, not to mention GUN."

"I keep telling myself that." Raya said. "But I still can't shake this feeling."

Sabina placed a paw on her sister's arm and rubbed it. "Don't let it stress you or get to you."

"I'll try," Raya replied placing a paw on her sister's. "Yet some of the others are anxious too."

Sabina rubbed her chin in thought. "Hmmm." She mused. "Perhaps we should talk about this with the elders."

"You think mother?" Dulcy asked.

"Yes, my dear." Sabina nodded. "They could perhaps use their seeing abilities to help put everyone's minds at ease when it concerns Robotnik."

"They can do that!?" Dulcy exclaimed.

"That they can," Sabina answered. "It is the ability of a few dragons. Even though they cannot predict the future, they can sense some events that will happen in the form of clues in their visons."

"Wow!" Dulcy said "Okay!"

"I'm sure they'll see nothing!" Calista quipped. "If there was danger, they would have informed us, right?"

Dulcy nodded in agreement.

"Likewise!" Sabina agreed. "I truly believe those two are long gone! And good riddance!"

"Oh yes!" Dulcy cried. "Thanks to our future King and Queen!"

"Very true!" Raya smiled then looked towards their home island. "Well let's not waste any time, let's go and see them, shall we?"

The other three dragons agreed in unison, opened their wings and took off towards their home island in the east.

It wasn't long before they reached their homeland, an Eastern located Island of high mountains and forests that stood out under the blue skies.

"Home sweet Home!" Dulcy cheered.

"That it is!" Sabina agreed.

Dulcy instantly flew on ahead and landed cleanly on the beach, Calista not far behind and soon the older female dragons landed behind them.

"Phew!" Calista said as she stretched her wings. "My wings were starting to ache there!"

"Maybe you some rest them?" Raya suggested.

"I will!" Calista replied as she gave her wings another stretch, giggling as she felt her mother pat her head affectionately.

"Shall we find the elders and put our minds at rest?" Dulcy asked as she began to walk up the beach.

"Yes dear, let's do that!" Sabina agreed and began to follow her daughter on foot, Calista and Raya not far behind.

"Lead the way Aunt Sabina!" Calista called as they reached the land and began to take the route to their destination.

As they walked, the foursome saw many other dragons on the land, all enjoying their free life that they had been given their lives back after some many years of enslavement under Robotnik's rule.

As they saw Dulcy and recognized her as one of the few Dragons who had escaped Robotnik's iron grip and had worked with the Knothole Freedom Fighters to reclaim their stolen land and lives, they smiled and acknowledged her, some calling to her to which Dulcy responded back with a smile and wave.

Since she had returned home, Dulcy had been seen as a heroine on her home island and it made her feel proud, if not a little embarrassed, but her mother told her that she should be proud for what she had done, not just for their brethren, but for the whole of Mobius.

It wasn't long before they came to a cave entrance in front of a high mountain and the four dragons looked into the opening, seeing it lit up with colored crystals that shone and sparkled in the sun and bounced off each other.

"Here we are everyone," Sabina announced.

"Wow!" Dulcy breathed. "Even though it's been a while since I've been here, it still amazes me!"

"Truly is an impressive sight!" Raya agreed.

Calista nodded. "Oh indeed yes!"

"Elder Glint and the others should be inside," Sabina said. "Shall we?" She looked back at the others, and they nodded and began to follow her inside.

As they walked through, Dulcy and Calista stared at the crystals, as well as statues and artifacts which had been returned to their home after Robotnik's defeat.

Dulcy smiled. It had taken years for everything to have been recovered. Anything Robotnik hadn't robotized, he had hidden away deep under where he had reigned for so long. But with the help of GUN and the Freedom Fighters, all the treasures of the slaves and beyond had been recovered and returned.

"It's a good thing all our treasures and artifacts were recovered, and all an important part of our history," Sabina spoke as she walked.

The four dragons kept walking until they came to the center of the mountain where they were greeted by a large room with a high ceiling of crystals and statues of dragons, and right at the top, the sun was pouring it lighting it up.

On three large thrones of marble and stone, three dragons were seated, the elders of the Mobian Dragons. The first was silver, the second was black and the third was red.

As the four female dragons entered, they instantly bowed in respect.

The red one looked up and a small smile graced his lips.

"It seems we have visitors," He said in a soft voice that reminded Dulcy of a caring grandfather.

"Glint," Dulcy spoke as she stood up. "I hope we have not disturbed you?"

Glint chuckled. "Not at all Dulcy dear," He replied.

The black dragon known as Drake looked up at well and nodded at Dulcy. "You, as well as the others are always welcome here." His voice was a little more husky, but still in a comforting tone.

"And what do we owe this visit?" The silver one asked, this one had a deeper voice and was known as Volos.

Dulcy stepped forward.

"Please, tell us what you request of us," Glint encouraged.

"Elders," Dulcy said. "Despite the five years of peace since the defeat of Robotnik, it appears that some of us still have fears."

"Fears hmm?" Glint asked placing a hand on his chin. "Of what?"

Raya then stepped forward. "Forgive me Elders but fears that the evil one still lives."

At that, the Elders frowned.

"Julian Kintobor," Volos breathed.

"I see," Drake spoke "And what, may I ask, has brought on these fears?"

Raya spoke again. "In the five years that have passed, during these moments of peace, the bodies of that devil and his slave were never found."

"And there are others that feel that way, I'm sure!" Sabina added. "Not just us, but in the lands beyond, if possible, my Lords, we wish to make a request."

"Indeed Sabina," Volos said. "Please make your request."

"My Lords," Sabina asked, "We wish for you to ease the minds of our worried brethren by using your seer abilities to see if Robotnik and Snively still live."

"I see," Volos said then turned to Drake and Glint to which the latter nodded to him and Drake.

"Very well." Glint answered then looked to Drake and Volos "Shall we brothers?" he asked to which the two dragons nodded, and they stood in a circle in the middle of the room and held up their arms to the air.

"Let us put everyone's minds at ease," Glint said.

"Yes lets," Volos agreed and along with Drake and Glint they began to chant in their dragon language.

As that happened, Dulcy, Sabina, Raya and Calista stood and waited patiently, not daring to move or speak as they watched the three elders chant and hold their arms up.

After a few minutes, the elders stopped chanting and lowered their arms before turning to the four females.

Glint was the first to speak.

"We looked and we searched." He spoke.

"Yes and?" Sabina asked biting her lip.

Drake smiled at her. "He found nothing." He smiled.

Upon hearing that Dulcy cheered. "Yes!" she cried.

"I knew it!" Calista said happily, clapping her hands.

Sabina and Raya looked relieved.

"I cannot tell you how at peace I feel!" Raya said.

"The same can be said for us all, my Lords!" Sabina agreed "Thank you so much!"

Dulcy and Calista looked at each other and high fived.

"Good riddance to that evil Man!" Dulcy cheered.

"You said it!" Calista agreed.
