Tornado adopts a Unicorn
Tatsumaki hovered above Mustafa. It was 9 in the morning, and she had just dropped off Eri with class 1-A. Eri wanted to hang out with them for the day. Why? Because Tatsumaki was busy today.
It was finally time. Her career as a hero would start today. She had waited for so long to finally be able to do something.
She looked down at the seemingly peaceful city and scanned her surroundings. It looked normal for the average citizen, but Tatsumaki was a pro with years of experience.
So she noticed a group of people who looked suspicious. They stood before a bank and looked around as if they didn't want to alarm the authorities. 'Heh, easy targets.' Tatsumaki descended slowly.
They were a group of ten people, three of whom were women and seven men. They started walking across the street when four of them suddenly took out guns, and the other six either transformed or activated their quirks.
Tatsumaki smirked. It was time to engage. She effortlessly immobilized them and moved them skyward. She wanted to see their faces when they realized that they were caught by the Tornado of Terror. Their surprised expressions turned to fearful ones after they saw who was responsible for their little flying lesson.
"Oh shit, it's the Tornado of Terror."
"We're fucked."
"Why is she here?"
They exclaimed in fear after seeing her. Tatsumaki glared at them to shut them up. "Congratulations, you are the first dirtbags I got to arrest. You can be honored. Sadly, you are so weak that you can't even fight back. How pathetic. That means I can't beat you up too badly. Eh, I will manage." She told them coldly and looked at her new watch on her wrist. This little support item told her where to find the next police station. It had other functions too, but she only needed that specific function. "Ah, there it is. Well, let's go then."
She started to fly away, and the villains followed behind her when one of them shouted at her. "YOU WITCH. YOU THINK YOU'RE HOT SHIT, HUH!? WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YO-" He was shut up by Tatsumaki as she forcefully overloaded his nervous system. He fell unconscious. She did the same with the others too. If they want to be difficult, it's on them.
She arrived at the police station shortly after. Several officers looked at her in confusion at the entrance. Tatsumaki notified them with her watch. So why are they so confused? Did they believe she wouldn't be so fast? "You! Take care of them. They just tried to rob a bank." She explained the situation as the officers took care of things. Fortunately, they got over their shock fast and arrested the criminals. They would have to question some civilians and look at the camera footage, but they will manage.
Tatsumaki didn't know it, but Nezu employed some office workers to handle Tatsumaki's paperwork.
Tatsumaki looked at the sky and began to smirk. "Get ready boys, there's more." This confused the officers again. What does she mean by that? Didn't she just drop off the criminals? But their questions would soon be answered as multiple villains descended onto the earth. It was a sight to behold.
One after another, an unconscious villain dropped to the ground. What the fuck was happening? Well, it was simple. Tatsumaki's range is 100 kilometers in every direction, right? So, theoretically, she could feel every single person in her range. And that means that she just has to feel if someone emits a feeling of fear. Then, she only needs to search for the person responsible for their fear, and lo and behold, another villain is captured. Or, if it is a disaster like a burning house, she only needs to remove the air to extinguish the flames. Earthquakes, accidents, and many other things are no problem for her. She can do all that from a great distance.
Of course, not everyone she captures is a villain. She may be the most powerful being on the planet, but she's human too. Give her some slack. But later, it would be confirmed that 99% of her captures were arrested. It was hard work. Her underlings for the paperwork worked themselves to the bone. They needed to ask so many questions and look at so much camera footage. But it was worth it. The streets of Japan were never safer.
It was terrifying how effectively and efficiently Tatsumaki worked as a hero. Surprisingly, the property damage was also at an all-time low. She's just that good.
It was lunchtime when Tatsumaki decided to take a small break and eat something. She flew to her favorite restaurant, the one she visited with Eri, to eat pasta. During her break, she thought about what she had accomplished in her three hours. She managed to arrest over 2000 villains. Because she could fly at enormous speed, she simply flew over multiple cities in Japan. She retrieved the villains as if she were strolling through a supermarket. It was too easy. But at least it was funny to see the many reactions she got from police officers and villains alike.
After leaving the restaurant with a fully filled stomach and many terrified customers and employees, she decided to step up her game. She wanted a challenge, and if the villains in this world were too weak to give her one, she just had to make it challenging herself.
She decided to arrest 20 villains per minute. To do this, she pushed her powers to the absolute limit and managed to reach a radius of 150 kilometers. No one would be safe from her, so she started to fly around at an even greater speed.
At the end of the day, Tatsumaki arrested another 7500 villains. It was not just Japan where she operated. She decided to check out other continents and countries. Why? Because her numbers dropped after working in Japan for too long. She was active in New York, London, Paris, Hong Kong, Sydney, Los Angeles and many more cities. The paperwork was enormous, not only because of the sheer numbers but also because Tatsumaki worked with no permission in other countries. But Nezu managed to work everything out.
At the end of the day, the leaders of their respective countries decided it would be too much of a hassle to bother the hero who stood above even All Might. So everything was fine.
If only she knew what headaches she caused the people around her after pulling that stunt. Even Nezu was completely exhausted, and that meant really something.
It was 6 in the evening when Tatsumaki finally decided it was enough and headed home to see Eri.
/
"Breaking News! The newest hero of Japan, Tatsumaki, hero name Tornado of Terror, caused quite the uproar around the world." A male news reporter said excitedly into the camera. "It is unbelievable! Never did something like this happen in the entire history of mankind. Our newest hero not only operated in Japan, no, she even went around the world to catch every villain under her radar. What a sight to behold, if you ask me. She managed to arrest 9436 villains in just 9 hours. Can you believe that?" He was wiping away the sweat on his forehead as he continued to report the news. He talked with so much excitement you would think he had a heart attack.
"To get deeper into it, let us compare the numbers. Over 4000 arrests in Asia alone, 1500 in North America, 1000 in South America, 1000 in Africa, 500 in Australia, and 1400 in Europe. IT. IS. OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD." He finishes as he slumps back into his chair in exhaustion.
He recovers and continues with a slightly calmer tone. "Phew guys, what a day, huh? But that's not all. Oh nonono, it gets better. Tornado even broke nearly every record in the world. Hero records, to be exact. Most arrested villains, fastest arrest, least amount of property damage, and so on and so on. The list doesn't stop. Just today, she broke over 500 different records. The only big record left is All Might's 120 hours active duty record, which he set 8 years ago." The reporter hyped himself up again as he got more excited again.
"I think that no one will be questioning Tatsumaki again. We can all be certain that Tatsumaki is definitely a hero. All the people, calling her a villain after killing All for One, are surely quiet now. Let's see what she will do next. I, for one, will be watchi-" ZAP.
The TV was turned off as Nezu turned around on his chair to look at Tatsumaki, who was in his office at the moment. She had a smug look on her face.
"Well, I knew you would throw off the world, but not to that extent. Very surprising, even for me. Over 9000 arrests after just 9 hours is something never seen before. Any plans for the future?" Nezu was very impressed with Tatsumaki. He was even a little scared after seeing her in action.
The smug grin on Tatsumaki only increased after hearing that. "Hmph, these villains are so pathetic. It's no wonder I broke nearly every record. But I will not decrease my effort just because these guys are weaklings. The opposite, actually. Next time, I will aim for 10000 arrests in just 8 hours. And then, I will break All Might's 120 hours. So look forward to that." She crossed her arms, got closer to Nezu, and her expression turned from smug to serious. "Now, where's Eri?"
Nezu smiled at Tatsumaki, not scared of her at all. "Ohoho, you don't have to worry about your daughter. She's currently with 1A in the dorms to play with them a little. I was told she was on her best behavior the entire day from Aizawa. She also liked to watch the class train their quirks."
Tatsumaki may still look serious on the outside, but she was actually really glad that Eri had a nice day with her ... friends? Are the students her friends? She turned around and left Nezu's office. "As long as you keep Eri entertained, I will do whatever you ask. Goodbye." The door shut, leaving Nezu alone with his thoughts.
/
It was the best part of the day for Tatsumaki. Picking up Eri. It's amazing how this little girl became Tatsumaki's whole world in under a week. She stood before the dorm of 1A again and entered without ringing the bell. Inside, nearly all the students were glued to the TV as they still watched the news broadcast of Tatsumaki's debut as a hero.
Eri, especially, looked at it with stars in her eyes. But then she noticed something in the corner of her eyes and looked sideways. She met Tatsumaki's gaze and sprinted across the room to crash into her mother.
"MOM! You were so awesome. They all are talking about you on TV. It was so cool how you fought against the bad guys. You were like BAM, and the villains were like URGH." Eri said in excitement as she looked up at Tatsumaki with a bright smile.
Tatsumaki's chest felt warm after hearing Eri's praise, and she smiled kindly at the little girl. Tatsumaki gently combed through Eri's hair. "Hehe, see? I told you that no one in the entire world can stand up to me." She said smugly as she looked up to see the student's reactions. They looked at her in awe and caution. Like the rest of the world, it was their first time seeing something like that on TV. And now the person was standing in front of them. It was like the second coming of All Might, but only that she was way more powerful.
Only one person looked at her differently. Katsuki Bakugou was watching her with caution. His mind is currently occupied with other thoughts. Of course, he's impressed by her. But he needs to show her that he's not some weakling and that he can keep up with her. Only then can he atone for his weakness in Kamino. But the showcase of her power today was too much for him.
Izuku was the only one who walked over to her. He may be nervous, but he still had his usual bright smile on his face. "Congratulations on your successful debut, miss Tatsumaki. I hope we can learn much from you."
"Hmph, we will see how much you are worth after I test you all tomorrow." She said sternly as she picked up Eri in her arms. "Eh whatever, I'm here right now, so I think I will tell you what we will do tomorrow." At that, the students all gathered around her to get as much information as possible.
"Listen up brats. Tomorrow, we will do a test to determine who has the pleasure of working with me. First, you will do a test that determines your strength, endurance, reflexes, and willpower. The students who managed to survive have the right to move on to the last phase. There, you will be fighting against me. The three students with the most potential are the ones to accompany me." Without letting the information sink in, Tatsumaki walked out of the dorm with Eri in her arms. She won't let the brats ask some questions.
/
Back at their house, Tatsumaki sat down on the couch with Eri in her lap, like she did the last couple of days. Normally, she would be relaxing now, but something was on her mind, and she didn't know how to start the conversation.
For the last 2 days, she considered asking Eri questions about Rappa. But the thing is, she doesn't want to open old wounds because Eri is still recovering mentally from Overhaul's torture. Was it too soon? She doesn't know.
Maybe she can ask about it differently? But how? Emotional talk and other crap was not really her strong suit. In the end, Tatsumaki decided to watch something on TV before asking deep questions. So she embraced Eri protectively and rested her chin on her head. It was a nice feeling. And for Eri, it was a welcomed feeling too. She felt protected and loved and snuggled closer to Tatsumaki.
But then, Eri turned around and looked into her mother's eyes, worried. "Is something wrong?" Why the hell is a 6-year-old better at reading the room than she herself? She didn't know. It was really embarassing if you asked her.
Tatsumaki looked back at Eri and smiled kindly. "Nothing is wrong sweetie, I was just thinking about things." She sighed and patted Eri's head. "Eri, I want to ask you something, and it's totally alright to not answer my question, okay?" Tatsumaki asked carefully.
Eri got worried and nodded stiffly. What does her mother want to ask? "Eri, do you know someone with the name Rappa?" There, she said it.
The girl in her arms stiffened and started to shake. Dammit, was it too soon? Tatsumaki was already regretting her question. Why the hell is she always making people miserable? To calm down Eri, she combed through her hair and hugged her closer. Eri needs to know that she is safe here. "Sshhhh. It's alright sweetie, you don't have to answer. Just watch the movie and forget about it."
Eri clenched her tiny fists and calmed down. She was still shaking, but at least it got better for now. "N- no, it's al- alright. B- but why do you want t- to know?"
Tatsumaki's chest twisted as she heard her little girl stuttering in fear. But It was too late now. She had already asked her question. She needs to finish this. She can't stop now.
"To tell you the truth, I attacked Overhaul and his organization." Eri stiffened again. "I managed to capture nearly every villain. But Overhal and one other managed to escape. And as I was beating down the small fries, one of his subjects helped me take them down. This man called himself Rappa and wanted to know how you're doing." Tatsumaki explained carefully and calmly with a slight edge in her voice. This whole time, she hugged Eri close and stroked her back to let her know that everything was alright.
After hearing the story, Eri visibly relaxed. Her mother's touch was calming her down, and she stopped shaking. "He wanted to know how I am? Really?" She looked at Tatsumaki with big, confused eyes.
Tatsumaki smiled at her. "Yes. He told me he was sorry for not standing up for you and asked if you were doing alright. He also said that he wanted to visit you after leaving prison." The part where Rappa apologized was a complete lie, but Tatsumaki doesn't care at the moment.
Eri was shocked by this. She noticed that Rappa was more friendly with her compared to the others, but it's not like he treated her like Tatsumaki or the students here do. He was a little rough, but it was nice to know that at least one person in Overhaul's gang cared about her.
There was still one thing she needed to know.
Eri looked at Tatsumaki with fear in her eyes. "Will Overhaul come and get me? If you didn't catch him, does it mean he will come for me?"
The expression on the espers face got darker. Tatsumaki took Eri's head in her hands and looked directly into her eyes. Her tone was strong and reassuring. "No! I will never let him take you away from me. I promise, Eri. I will always protect you. Please don't be scared. Even if he comes, I will simply beat him up. Okay?" Eri hugged her mother again and nodded into her neck.
This whole situation was really exhausting for Eri, so she decided to get some distraction. "Can we watch TV?" She asked quietly.
"Of course, sweetie. Let's forget this thing for now."
They continued to watch TV without talking about this whole thing again. At least it looked like Rappa told her the truth. Eri didn't really confirm it, but her expression told her enough.
It was now 10 in the evening, and Tatsumaki decided that Eri was awake long enough. "Let's go to bed, Eri." Eri turned around, shocked. "Nooo, it got so exciting just now. Please, just 5 more minutes." She begged with puppy eyes, but Tatsumaki didn't let it deceive her. "No means no, Eri." She started in a soft tone. "You must sleep for at least 8 hours, or your brain won't develop enough. Come on, it's time for bed. I can see how your eyes are drooping." She combed through Eri's hair with her fingers.
The girl pouted and crossed her arms with a huff. "Hmph, but only if I can sleep with you." Heh, this little brat learned from the best. And ... did Eri just say 'Hmph'? She really was rubbing off on her.
Tatsumaki has nothing against letting Eri sleep with her, but she wants to tease her a little after hearing her demand.
She looked at Eri and let out a slight gasp. "Ohh? But I thought you were a big girl? And big girls sleep alone, in their own bed." Eri's eyes widened at that. She is a big girl, but she also wants to sleep with her mommy. What a difficult decision.
Eri looked deep in concentration as she thought about the dilemma. It was really a difficult decision to make for a 6-year-old. Tatsumaki looked at her cute face and tried her best to hold back her laughter.
'Ohh, this is great. Look at her cute face. She can't make up her mind. Hehehe.'
Tatsumaki decided that was enough and picked up Eri. "You can sleep with me tonight. Don't worry, I know you are a big girl." Tatsumaki nudged Eri's nose.
This made Eri happy, and she smiled again.
They brushed their teeth and put on their pajamas before going to bed. And as always, Eri got as close to Tatsumaki as possible. Sue her, but it was just too comfortable, and she felt so much safer in her embrace.
Of course, Eri was not tired yet and asked a question of her own. "Mom? Can we visit your sister soon? I want to meet her." She asked innocently as she looked up under her blanket.
The question surprised Tatsumaki, and she opened her mouth in surprise. "What brings this on?" Tatsumaki asked as she stroked Eri's cheek.
"You talk about her so much, so I kind of want to meet her. Is she still mad at you?" Because Tatsumaki always speaks about her sister, Eri got a little curious.
Tatsumaki sighed and looked at the ceiling, deep in thought. "You know Eri, I don't really know it myself. I was really stupid in the past and hurt her more than I can count. I was not a pleasant person, but I did it to protect her. It got better after a while, and she at least talks to me now, so you will definitely meet her in the future." Tatsumaki finished with a sad smile on her face.
Eri widened her eyes after hearing that. "Really? And is she nice?" Now, she got even more curious and asked further questions, with excitement visible on her face.
A soft chuckle escaped Tatsumaki's mouth, and she swiped away a strand of hair from Eri's face. "Yes, really." Tatsumaki closed her eyes to think about how to describe Fubuki.
"Hmmm let's see, she's really stubborn and doesn't listen to a thing I say, and like me, she is a hero too. Oh, and she is much taller than I am and talks about beauty products all day long. It gets really frustrating after a while. But you have to see it for yourself, Eri. Her name is Fubuki, by the way."
"Can we visit her tomorrow?" Eri asked hopefully.
"That's not possible right now. I don't know how to get home, and I need to wait for someone to bring me back. But I promise I will take you with me and introduce you to so many people when we get home."
This saddened the small girl. "Awww." Then she looked at Tatsumaki again. "Can you tell me more about Fubuki? I'm not tired yet. Pleeeeaaase?" Her earlier excitement made her more awake.
Tatsumaki did as she was told and began to tell her some stories about the past. And after around 30 minutes, the small girl was fast asleep, drooling on Tatsumaki's pajamas.
But it didn't bother her. She wrapped her arms around Eri and got to sleep herself.
/
The next day, Tatsumaki flew through the corridors of UA to get to the teachers ... room? Office? She didn't care.
Eri was dropped off by the 1A brats, by the way.
Without knocking, she went inside and scanned her surroundings. There is not much to see here if you ask her. A homeless person, the pervert, a cowboy, ... too many people.
"Which one of you is Aizawa? The rat said I must speak with you before tormenting the brats." She shouted through the room with authority.
The homeless person groaned and walked over to her. "That would be me. What do you want? And make it quick. You're interrupting my sleep." The hobo looked like he hadn't slept the last three days. He sounded tired but still had enough energy to glare at Tatsumaki.
Yes, Aizawa didn't like her. And yes, she was powerful, but her character was really ... rough. To say it lightly.
Tatsumaki raised her eyebrows. "You are a teacher? You look like you live on the streets."
His glare intensifies. "Stop wasting my time and tell me what you want. I don't care what you think about me."
Tatsumaki did exactly that. She explained to Aizawa what she planned on doing to the students.
And Aizawa was worried for his students. Is she serious? Will his students survive? She can't do that. This isn't even legal. He has to do something.
The esper was flying, as always, and looked down on Aizawa with her usual glare. But Aizawa was not intimidated. He needed to do this for his students. "You will NOT be doing that. These kids are MY students, and you will do them no harm. I thought All Might was irresponsible, but it looks like you are even worse than him. They won't even learn anything from that." He told her seriously as he looked directly into her eyes.
This hobo may be intimidating anyone else, but Tatsumaki doesn't care about his opinion at all. "Hmph, if you don't want to see your students hurt, then stay here and cry all you want. If you treat these brats too carefully, they will never grow. A little pain won't hurt them." Her tone was arrogant.
Tatsumaki turned around and flew out of the room. This was Aizawa's chance. It doesn't matter how strong someone is. If he erases her quirk, she's just a little girl. In Aizawa's opinion, she's too reliant on her quirk, so if he's erasing it, she will be helpless.
His eyes flashed red, and Tatsumaki ... continued ... flying? HUH?
His eyes widened to the size of dinner plates.
Tatsumaki noticed some weird energy from Aizawa surrounding her. It doesn't do anything to her, but she can still feel it. She turned around and glared. "What the hell are you doing."
Aizawa was sweating, but he won't let himself be intimidated by this monster. "Tch, nothing. Let's go outside. If you overdo it, I will stop you." His eyes turned to normal, and they both went outside. Tatsumaki, of course, flew ahead of him.
Does she not have a quirk? Impossible!
Outside, Tatsumaki stood on a large field with Aizawa to her right and Eri to her left. She needed space for her little lesson today. And class 1A was in front of her.
Nervous. They don't know yet what the esper has planned for them. Most of them were sweating and shaking. The only exceptions are Katsuki and Shoto.
Erasurhead was against Tatsumaki, taking the students to do hero work. Unfortunately, Tatsumaki quickly shut him up after she did ... things to him.
"I will only explain things once. If you don't listen to me, that's on you. And if some of you don't want to participate, you should quit now. I will force you through hell today, so if you guys think you can't survive a little pain, quit now." Tatsumaki warned them with no sympathy in her voice.
A nervous Kaminari raised his hand. "Umm ... miss Tatsumaki, what will happen to us if we quit during the exercise?" Tatsumaki stared blankly at him. "You can't quit. Your only chance is to either quit now or when you fall unconscious during the exercise."
"Ah ... okay... good to know." Kaminari smiled nervously as he stepped backward to hide behind his fellow classmates.
She waited 5 minutes to see which students wanted to participate. Surprisingly, everyone wanted to do it. 'Hmmm, at least they are not some wimps who are afraid of a little exercise.'
Tatsumaki crossed her arms and began to float. "Great, now that that is taken care of, we can finally begin."
She then ordered the students to stand in a line on the ground side by side. Then, she used her powers to create a 500-meter-long pathway on the ground. After that, she used her telekinesis to move around some rocks. She placed them down at the end of the path. There were 100 in total. The rocks in question were 1 meter in radius and were compressed so strongly that they were harder than tungsten now.
She was not finished yet. Behind the rocks, she created a net of laser beams. To do that, she simply used her psychic energy and focused it so that it looked like laser beams. They were not strong, but they would hurt like hell. This part was 500 meters in length, too.
"Alright, I'm finished." Tatsumaki looked at her work and nodded. This should be enough for them.
She turned around and addressed the students. "Listen up. You will be working yourself through this little parkour I just created. This part right here," she pointed at the pathway, "is just a normal sprint. You just need to 'run' across it to the finish line."
Mineta sighed in relief. "Phew, that doesn't sound too ba-" "However, I will increase the gravity by at least 10 times, and if that is too easy for you guys, I will increase it even more." She stated without remorse.
The students looked at her in horror. She wasn't serious, right? RIGHT?
But Tatsumaki was not finished. This was just part one of her test. She continued with an emotionless tone. "I think you all noticed the rocks at the end of the path. These rocks are as hard as tungsten, and I will add an additional barrier around them to make them even more sturdy. Each one of you guys will be destroying these rocks. There are 20 of you guys present, and there are 100 rocks. So each one of you has to at least destroy 5 rocks. If you destroy one, the next will be even harder to destroy because I will increase the strength of my barrier."
An invisible girl raised her hand. Her voice was quiet, and she was nervous. "Bu- but, I'm just in- invisible. How c- can I ev- even destroy one rock?" She asked, terrified.
Tatsumaki looked at her, unimpressed. "How should I know? Use your brain. There is always a way for the hero to turn an impossible situation in their favor." Was her cold reply.
Ignoring the poor girl, she explained the last part. "And lastly, we have the net of lasers. This one is simple. You just have to get through it. I will randomly move them around, so it's not too easy." Then she suddenly snapped her fingers, remembering something important. "Oh, one more thing. If one of you falls unconscious, you are out. You won't be participating in the last part of my test. The same goes for those who take too long to complete the exercise. I won't tell you the time limit. Just be as fast as possible."
Tatsumaki put her hand under her chin in concentration. "And ... yeah, I think that's all. Good luck." She finished the explanation and looked into the eyes of terrified students. Aizawa was not feeling any better than them.
Izuku was nervous, yeah, but he wanted to prove himself and show All Might that he was a worthy successor.
Katsuki wants to prove himself as well, but his reason is different. If he gets through this exercise, he will be one step closer to atone for his weakness in Kamino. Because he's the reason All Might retired.
The last student who didn't look as terrified was Shoto. But that was because he doesn't let his emotions get the better of him anyway. He's naturally more composed than others.
Tatsumaki began to smirk. "Alright you wimps, get ready. The exercise begins ...
... NOW!"

End of chapter 8.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
Will the students survive? And which three students have the potential to accompany Tatsumaki? Find out on the next chapter. :D The answer might surprise you.
By the way, the only people who know about Tatsumaki's secret are Tsukauchi, Nezu and All Might. Well, the HPSC too, but they wouldn't dare to release information about Tatsumaki. They are too afraid now. :D
Nezu didn't tell his staff, and Tatsumaki didn't tell Eri yet.
Well that's all folks. Please review. :)
Bye.
