"H-How is this possible? I killed you. Me, Team RWBY, Ren and Nora, Oscar, we beat you. And how are you so... human?"

Salem looked down. "This wasn't supposed to happen. I shouldn't be here." She looked up. "YOU shouldn't be here. You shouldn't have ever had to see me, not even like this."

"Even?" Jaune realized it. "This... this was what you looked like before you were cursed. Before the Grimm Pools. You... were so beautiful."

She smiled. "Thank you." She then appeared in front of Jaune, gently caressing his cheek in a motherly manner. "And you are truly handsome, Jaune. Much more than when you and the others bested me all those years ago." She then began to tear up. "So why do you have to continue my legacy?"

Jaune's eyes widened. "What?"

She then looked down. "Is our bloodline cursed? Do the gods hate me so much that they decided to torment my entire family?"

Jaune backed away, a look of shock on his face. "W-What are you saying? What are you TALKING about?!"

Salem looked down. "Jaune... who is the progenitor of your family?"

"What?"

Salem looked up. "Who STARTED the Arc family?"

Jaune was shocked. "No. No, you can't be."

"My name... is Salem Arc."

Jaune stared at Salem in horror before looking at his shaking hands. "You mean... I... KILLED my own ancestor?"

"No." Jaune looked up to see Salem giving a beautiful smile. "You FREED me." Jaune stopped shaking.

Salem then looked down sadly. "But... when your soul is freed... so is your mind. I saw... so many things in my death. Great, amazing, beautiful things... and horrible, cruel, evil things as well," she said as she began to pace. "I... saw a time... where you were slain at Beacon, successfully defending Amber so that Pyrrha Nikos could become the Fall Maiden."

Tears silently fell from Jaune's eyes when he heard that. "You mean... I was able to save Pyrrha?"

"At the cost of your life."

"I don't care. I... I was able to save her," he thought happily.

"But burdened her with a fate worse than your own."

"What?"

"She was broken at your death, plagued with nightmares, blaming herself for your death. Where you had to the strength to move on, she did not."

"Pyrrha."

"And I did something even more cruel... I brought you back to life as a Grimm Human undead."

"You WHAT?!"

"As I said... I saw terrible things," she said as she looked down. She could hear and see Pyrrha holding onto the zombified Jaune's face, screaming "Don't ever wonder off!" The thought brought a tear to Salem's eye.

"I have also seen a world... where I won. Where killed Team Ruby, imprisoned Ozma, and took away your family, making Remnant mine. Only you survived. Yet, you rose up, gathered mighty warriors, claimed the Sword of Destruction, and waged a war against me."

Jaune listened to every word. "Did I win."

Salem stopped. "Yes..." She then looked at him. "Using my power."

"What?"

"In that time... you ingested my blood."

Jaune's eyes widened. "I did what?"

"You heard me. You did it to become a new breed created in that world. What you are being forced to turn into now. A Grimmkind."

"Grimmkind? Wait, what I'm being turned into?! You mean... I'm turning into you?"

Salem looked down before she bowed. "I'm so sorry."

"No. No, no, I don't believe you! There has to be a way to cure me! To make me human again!"

Salem stood up, still crying before looking at Jaune. She then shook her head. "You know as well as I do that's not possible, Jaune."

Jaune looked at her with wide eyes filled with horror, anguish, and defeat. He then looked at his hands and noticed that they were as white as Salem's when she was alive. Jaune then screamed before he slammed his hands onto the darkness that was the ground. "WHY?! WHY ME?! WHAT DID TAURUS HOPE TO GAIN BY MAKING ME THIS?! WAS HE HOPING I'D BE THE NEW YOU?!"

"No." Jaune looked up. "He's just as much a victim as you are."

Jaune growled as he stood up. "VICTIM?! HE'S NOT THE ONE BECOMING THE NEW DEVIL OF REMNANT!"

Salem sighed sadly. "You may not understand now, and maybe you never will, but please don't let your hatred control you. Don't become me."

Jaune's eyes widened. "What?"

"My legacy CAN'T continue! Especially not through you. You have to be stronger than me. Better. Don't let your negative emotions control you. And most importantly, don't let them win."

"Them? Them who?"

"The Brothers." Jaune's eyes widened. Salem then looked at her hand. "Our time is nearly up."

"Salem." She looked at him. "The Grimmkind. What does it mean to be one?"

She was silent for a bit. "You were the King of the Beowolves."

"The what?"

"Each Grimmkind has control over a certain species of Grimm. You commanded the Beowolves."

"So I'll be able to control the Beowolves?"

"I don't know."

"Huh?"

"The you that became a Grimmkind... did so by drinking my blood. You were injected by Grimm Pool water straight from the Grimmlands. I have no idea what will happen to you."

"So... I really could be your second coming. I could be just as powerful as the feared Salem."

She stared at her descendant. "I hope you never become anything like me. The world doesn't need a new Salem. . . It needs the hero, Jaune Arc, the Vale Knight."

Jaune stared at his ancestor. "I will protect this world. I promise."

Salem smiled, tears flowing. "Please, allow me to watch over you... and your son. Don't make the same failures your foolish ancestor did. Protect him."

"I will. I won't fail my son. Besides, I have my ancestor watching over me," he said with a smile.

Salem smiled back before it went away when she saw Jaune's skin turn almost completely white, his once golden hair turning white as well. Her tears continued to flow as she bowed. "I'm so sorry."

Then, she vanished.

Adam was panting, his armor continuously repairing. Nimueh was walking towards him, channeling her power into her palm. "Die." She then fired.

As the beam raced to Adam, the lenses on his helm glistened. ANALYSIS OF FOREIGN POWER COMPLETE. NOW ABLE TO ABSORB FOR POWER

Adam sighed. "How about that?"

He then held out his hand, actually absorbing Nimueh's attack before blasting it into the sky.

Nimueh was shocked. "WHAT?!"

Adam groaned as he stood tall, his armor totally repaired. "It seems technology won against magic this day. New Mantle inventions could very well rival the Brothers themselves, wouldn't you agree?"

Nimueh growled. "If you think that's the limit of my power, then you're a fool!" Nimueh's eyes then widened when she heard a crack. She held up her arm to see that her body was breaking down. "No. Not now."

She looked at Adam when he began to chuckled. "Time's up. Maybe you should have killed me when you had the chance instead of wasting the limited Aura a mere boy gave you."

Nimueh then gritted her teeth in rage as her entire body was riddled with cracks. "DAMN YOO-"

Before she could scream, Nimueh's body shattered, the relic stabbing into the ground. She used up too much of her borrowed Aura.

Nimueh had lost.

Adam laughed at the sight of the sword, but it was a sad and melancholic laugh. As if he felt no joy in his victory at all. A truly hollow win. "The All Powerful Sword of Destruction has ran out of power. Arc is dead. This armor has proven to be able to withstand even a goddess's wrath. It's over. The jobs is complete... finally." Adam turned to walk away before he heard Nimueh being yanked out of the ground.

He looked to see Argent holding Nimueh protectively, looking up and glaring at the man. Adam sighed. "What do you hope to do, boy? Without Aura, that sword is just that, a sword."

"I can wait. I won't let you do anything to her."

Adam laughed softly. "Oh, please, you Arcs are the only ones who can do a damn thing with that sword that would mean anything. I just have to deal with you so she'd be-" Adam's eyes widened. "You Arcs? You're an Arc. You're his son."

"You figure that out on your own, genius?"

Adam looked at Argent with wide eyes. "You're an Arc. You're Jaune Arc's son. Meaning... you're also HER descendant like he was."

"Her who?!"

Adam then chuckled sadly. "I should have realized sooner," he said as he took out the bullets in his rifle, Ruby perking up at the sound. Her eyes widened when she heard the gun load. "That means these bullets should have an effect on you as well."

Argent took a stance. "I'm not afraid of you or your poison! I won't let you shoot me so easil-GAK," Argent went as Adam grabbed him by the throat, Ruby jumping up.

Adam then raised the boy easily. "I know how skilled you are, boy," he said as he placed the muzzle on Argent's stomach. "And I also believe that the reason your father died was because I injected too much Grimm Pool water into him. It was too much for even his body to handle, meaning a child like you should only be injected with one bullet. Maybe then, that bastard will be pleased, since he wanted Arc to live to begin with. I suppose you'll just have to take your father's place."

Argent kicked Adam in the chin, making him face the sky. Adam chuckled as he looked back at the struggling child. "So strong for a boy. You may even surpass your ancestor. Still, should you die, do tell your father hello for me," Adam said with an evil chuckle. His finger then squeezed the trigger.

BANG

Adam's rifle was flying through the sky, out of his grasp.

"What in the-?!" He then grunted after he was slammed in the stomach hard enough for him to be sent skidding away. He looked up towards the sound of Argent's coughing and gagging before it was replaced with panting. He saw Argent in the arms of an enraged Ruby, the end of her scythe smoking.

"Leave. My son. Alone," Ruby said, rage dripping off of each and every syllable.

Adam stared at Ruby as she put Argent back on his feet. He then looked at his sheath, the rifle too far to grab. He then remembered a feature of the armor, held his hand out, and watched as his palm glowed purple. The sheath then flew into his grasp. "Magnetic Dust. How useful," he said before looking back at the mother and son, both glaring at him.

"Son? . . . You? YOU'RE the boy's mother? You're the one Arc procreated with? You're the one who continued the Arc Bloodline?" Adam laughed.

"What's so funny," Ruby hissed.

"I'm just a bit disappointed. To think that someone as powerful a arc would continue his family line through the help of someone so... pedestrian. That boy has incredible strength, skill, and Aura levels. His Semblance is exemplary, his drive is commendable, his bravery is worthy of praise, and he has proven more than worthy enough to succeed his father as the next wielder of the Sword of Destruction. It is quite obvious that all of those traits came from Arc himself. And what did you give him? Silver eyes? Eyes that can only be used against the Grimm? Disappointing."

Ruby just glared at Adam.

"Well, it doesn't matter in the end." Adam aimed. "Out of my way. These bullets are too precious to waste on someone like you."

Argent took a defensive stance before Ruby stood in front of him. "Didn't you hear me? I told you to leave my son alone, you bastard."

"Hmph. You really want to stand in my way? Fine. I'll make sure you suffer before I make your son vastly superior to you. Or dead, either way is fine with me."

Ruby and Argent glared at Adam before they took their stances.

Adam sighed, ready to fight, until he saw what was behind the mother and son. His eyes widened. "Impossible."

Ruby and Argent looked confused before their eyes widened. On Ruby's shoulder and on Argent's head, they both felt firm, strong, yet gentle hands. Those hands gently pushed the two behind the owner as he walked in front of them towards Adam.

Mother and son began to cry.

"Dad!"

"Jaune. You're ali-" Ruby then noticed it. She dropped her scythe and covered her mouth in horror. "Oh, gods. What has he done to you?"

"Huh? Mom, what's-" Argent then looked and saw it, his eyes widening. Jaune's hair was completely white. When the wind blew, it showed that his neck was white was well. Argent then saw Blake in the corner of his eye, and saw a horrified look in her eyes as she was holding up Yang.

Yang woke up soon after. She looked at Blake before following Blake's gaze, her eyes widening as well.

Argent looked towards Silber, seeing her with her mother's head on her lap. Weiss then woke up, immediately seeing Jaune, her eyes widening. "By the gods. He... He looks just like her," Weiss said.

Jaune stood before Adam, tall and proud, his hair flowing freely as he stood before the armored Faunus. Adam stared at him in shock before he began to chuckle. Then, he laughed loudly. "So THAT'S why he wanted you shot with Grimm Pool Water!" He then sighed. "You look like a nightmare. What have I created," Adam asked with a slow shake of his head.

"YOU PLANNED THIS! ADAM, YOU BASTARD," Yang screamed.

"What have you done," Blake said with a shaking voice on the verge of crying, her eyes shadowed. She then looked up, now crying, eyes filled with rage. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIM?!"

"You monster," Weiss said. "YOU MONSTER!"

Adam just sighed. "All I did... was awaken what was dormant, right Arc? I just gave you your birthright, what was owed to you by your lovely ancestor. It only seems fitting for me to give it to you, since she and I worked together once upon a time."

"WHAT KIND OF CRAP ARE YOU SPEWING," Yang yelled as she tired to get up, only to groan in pain and fall.

"A-Ancestor," Silber went. "W-What are you talking about?"

"Nothing you need to worry about, Schnee. Though, you should be envious. His bloodline is far more special than yours ever was. As such, I should congratulate you, Arc. No. Better yet, I should wish you something grand. I sensed it. You really did die." Everyone was shocked to hear that.

"As such, this is your rebirth. Your resurrection. The old Vale Knight, the old Jaune Arc is dead. Welcome to the world, Prince of the Grimm." Everyone was horrified by what Adam called Jaune.

"No. Happy birthday, Jaune... Salem... Arc."

Jaune didn't respond. He just continuously looked at Adam... with his blood red eyes.

Jaune and Adam stood before each other, unmoving until Adam chuckled. "So it is true. That cloaked bastard was telling me the truth. It sounded insane, but what better proof is this? The Arc Bloodline is the only one capable of ruling the Grimm, all thanks to your dear ancestor, Salem."

"STOP SAYING THAT!" Adam glanced at Blake, who was beginning to cry. "JAUNE CAN'T BE RELATED TO SALEM! HE CAN'T BE HER DESCENDANT!" She then looked at Argent. "That would mean... No. I won't believe it," she said as she looked down, sobbing. "Not my nephew."

"Believe it, Blake. Your little human pup is the blood descendant of the most evil woman Remnant has ever seen." Argent's eyes widened in pain and horror, tearing up.

Yang's eyes turned red when she saw her nephew cry. "YOU BASTARD! IS THAT WHY YOU KEEP COMING BACK?! TO HURT MY FAMILY?!"

"Your family means nothing to me, Xiao Long. You're just a mere human. You're not even an Arc. Hell..." He glanced at an angry looking Weiss. "You're not even a worthless Schnee. Your kind means nothing to me." He then looked at Jaune. "It's always been about Arc. Always has been and always will be. Yours is both a blessed and a cursed bloodline. A bloodline that my employer finds great interest in, because he knows it's worth. He wants you to finish what your Ancestor started." Everyone was horrified by what Adam said.

Adam held out his hand. "Come with me, Grimm Knight. There is someone you must meet. Someone who will help you fulfil your destiny."

'Grimm Knight? Someone he needs to meet,' Ruby thought.

Jaune didn't respond. He didn't even take his eyes off of Adam, not even glancing at his hand.

"Well? What's your response Arc?" He gave none. Adam sucked his teeth. "Don't you have anything to say, Heir of Salem?"

Ruby tightened her grip on Crescent Rose out of pure anger when Adam called Jaune that. She was about to charge at him, planning to slash his head off.

"Actually, I do have something to say." That got everyone's attention.

"Hmm," Adam went with a smile.

His eyes then widened on shock and astonishment when a fist slammed into his face. His skull even began to crack before the frontal bones completely caved in, Jaune's fist actually slamming into Adam's brain. Adam skidded back, his feet digging into the dirt before he smashed against a tree, the force of impact causing an entire line of trees behind it to fall like dominos.

"Get the fuck off my lawn," Jaune said, his fist still extended.

Blood poured out of Adam's face as he buckled over, his scream of pain muffled by his bloody face as his armor was repairing itself.

'What a punch! I've never felt anything so powerful in my life! Is this what that madman wanted from him?!'

Adam looked up at Jaune, panting as his faceplate was almost totally repaired.

'Just how strong is this man?!'

Adam was panting as he was waiting for his body to heal, analyzing Jaune. He chuckled as he looked his adversary over. "Not bad, Arc," he said as he took his stance. "You're definitely worth wearing this armor for.

Adam then did something that shocked everyone. He used Moonslice.

Jaune's eyes widened in surprise before he raised his arms and took the brunt of the attack, tanking it. When it was over, he looked at the bloody cut on his arm, black blood flowing out onto his white arm... until the wound healed immediately.

Jaune's eyes narrowed at the sight of it before looking back at Adam. "How were you able to use your Semblance? There's no way your Aura recharged by now."

Adam chuckled as he held up his arm, moving a plate to show Dust behind it. "You'd be surprised what you can do with the right mix of Dust. For example..." Adam closed the plate and clenched his fist.

Adam's hand began to glow. He then threw a punch, which launched a red laser that slammed right into Jaune's chest, making Jaune skid back. Jaune groaned as he stumbled a bit, smoke flowing from his chest.

"Dad!"

"Jaune," Ruby cried out.

Adam chuckled at their cries. "This armor was designed to rival the Sword of Destruction's power, but it might as well be designed to take down the Strongest Huntsman in the World, wouldn't you agree? It most certainly is quite the trump card to use against you."

Team RWBY was shocked.

"You mean... this whole time," Weiss began.

"He... He was holding back against us," Blake went.

Yang gritted her teeth in rage. "That bastard."

Adam chuckled. "I honestly didn't think I'd have to use this armor's full function. You really are the best, Arc."

"I am honored. Though, shortly, it will mean nothing."

Adam laughed. "You JUST awakened your powers, hero! You really think you can beat me with a power you know next to nothing about? Did you really think I just put on this armor today?! I practiced with it for a month before coming after you! You have no such luxury."

Jaune glared at Adam. "You needed an entire month just to prepare a fight with me?"

"Of course I did. You're Jaune Arc, International First Class Huntsman. The man who helped save Vytal Island from a band of warmongering pirates. Who killed a Nightmare almost entirely on your own! Who saved Mistral from Argus from a pod of Leviathans at the sacrifice of your Silver-Eyed lover!"

Everyone's eyes widened in horror at what Adam said, except for Jaune. His were widened in rage.

In retaliation, Jaune used his hand to slash upward, creating a powerful wind blade that cut through the ground, racing towards Adam. Adam countered it with a Moonslash with his katana. "Struck a nerve, hero?" He then had a katana shoot out of his palm to send a second one, which Jaune blocked with his shoulder.

His shoulder gushed with blood as Jaune stumbled with a groan, obviously taking heavy damage.

Argent looked at his father with worry and looked down at Nimueh in his hand. He was about to throw the sword at Jaune until he remembered:

-"The Sword of Destruction is a unique relic. While the others, like the Lamp of Wisdom and the Staff of Creation attracted the Grimm, she repels them. They fear her power, since a single touch against so much as her hilt will end them. In many ways, Nimueh, the Sword of Destruction, can also be called the Grimmsbane. When your aunts, uncles, and I challenged Salem to the final battle, Nimueh was instrumental in that fight. It can even be argued that she helped us beat her. That is proof in my eyes that no Grimm, not even a Grimm-Human hybrid like Salem, can beat Nimueh."-

Argent thought it would be a terrible idea to give Nimueh to his dad now, but saw the perfect alternative. Stabbing Nimueh into the ground, he grabbed Crocea Mors.

"DAD!" Jaune's head turned slightly towards his son's voice.

Argent then tossed the heirloom sword towards his father, the blade spinning towards Jaune.

Despite not even turning around to look, Jaune caught the sword by its grip, spun it expertly, and swung it downward to activate its greatsword function. That action also created a massive wind blade much larger than the one he made with just his hand, the powerful gale rushing towards Adam.

Adam merely blocked it with both of his blades, absorbing the awesome power of the attack. He chuckled as he lowered his swords. "That was quite impressive, Arc."

Jaune just glared at Adam before pointing his sword at the mercenary. "Let's end this, Taurus."

Adam smirked. "When you came out with that sword in hand, you said, and I quote: Round two, beef ranch. I suppose this is Round three. . . No, better yet." Adam took his stance, his katana held forward with his hand held above his head.

"Final round."

Jaune continued to glare at Adam before taking his stance, holding his greatsword like a true knight.

Tense moments passed before the two charged at once another, their clash causing an earthquake, thunderclap, and tornado all at once, signifying the beginning of the final battle between Jaune Arc and Adam Taurus.

The Vale Knight vs the Red Samurai.
