Chapter Three-hundred and ten: Blueberry Bungling, part three

Kenny's Pokémon have just finished being treated following the battle that he had against Crispin of the Blueberry Academy League Club's Elite Four. Kenny won without too much difficulty, although his named Tyranitar, Godzilla, was knocked out by Crispin's Blaziken and by the way Blaziken is a fully evolved starter, that should be pointed out. Kenny, while thinking about his newfound theory that Crispin secretly works for Team Scorn, rotated his party a bit to face the next member of the BB League Elite Four.

Going in order from weakest to strongest, Kenny's next opponent will be Amarys, the dark skinned girl who wears glasses and uses steel type Pokémon. Kenny swapped his Pokémon around a bit to better prep for a steel type Pokémon user. "Are you sure that you can face Amarys, Kenny?" Mina asked as she and the others made their way to the battlefield in the Canyon Biome, where Amarys makes her base, "She's apparently good enough to be the second highest ranked member of the BB League Elite Four under Kieran's rule."

"She's second highest ranked due to behaving herself as per that tyrant's standards," Drayton scowled in an annoyed tone as he walked with the reborn trainers, "Her current position doesn't reflect her actual overall power. But I will admit she does have some degree of strategy. There's also the fact she's very hard to read due to being an emotionless, taciturn person thus a lot of students here at Blueberry Academy have trouble feeling comfortable around her. As a result, Amarys doesn't have a lot of friends outside of the club."

"She's a Spock-type," Trip summed up, "Got it."

Looking to Kenny, Drayton said, "You got a fairly tough battle ahead of you, Kenny. You think that you can beat Amarys?"

"Amarys's cold calculations stand no chance against my cringy moxie!" Kenny declared, "Amarys, and then the rest of the BB League Elite Four after her, better watch out, because my battle against my good chum Kieran is not a matter of if it will happen, but a matter of when it will happen!"

Drayton let out an amused chuckle. "Sounds to me like Lacey and I will have our work cut out for us after your bout with Amarys. Now remember, under normal circumstances you'd have to do some manner of trial and pass it before facing Amarys. But due to budget cuts to the Academy because a rich spoiled brat didn't like Lacey telling him off, you'll just skip straight to the battle. It will also be a tag team battle instead of a single battle."

"You guys here at Blueberry Academy sure do know how to make things as complicated as you can for whatever reason," Mina remarked.

Shrugging, Drayton said, "What can I say? We like to keep things zesty here." Within due time, the group made it to the battlefield in the Canyon Biome, where they saw Amarys talking to Carmine for some strange reason.

The group arrived just in time to hear Carmine say to Amarys, "...Than that weird little nerdy girl who was fond of that evil little horror that Kieran used to have."

"I still fail to grasp the idea that Furrets are evil," Amarys said dryly, "Still, it does bring a measure of comfort to know that I have your support in the concept that I had posed to you. Also, I must ask that you keep it a secret."

With an amused smirk and a wink, Carmine said, "You can count on me, Amarys."

"At least you aren't asking Drayton to keep a secret for you," Trip called out, making both Carmine and Amarys turn to see him, the other reborn trainers, and Drayton come walking up, "He blabbed a secret that Kieran asked him to keep, and it resulted in-"

"Now is not the time for that business, Trip!" Carmine exclaimed, cutting him off. Settling down, Carmine went on, "Now then, since you all are here, I take it that means that Kenny is here to have a battle against Amarys?"

"She'll be going down, mark my words," Kenny boasted, "Then that other girl and Drayton here after Amarys, and then I'll throw down with Kieran after them! I have the power of cringe and moxie on my side! I cannot be defeated!"

"I do not understand this 'cringe and moxie' of which you speak," Amarys said.

"You aren't the first to not understand Kenny," Trip said dryly, "And I'm willing to bet good money on it that you won't be the last."

Turning to look at Kenny, Amarys said, "I am ready to begin our battle when you are. Just say so and we'll assume our spots on the battlefield."

"Alright, I'm ready now," Kenny said as he walked over to one of the spots for trainers on the battlefield whereas Amarys walked over to the other spot for trainers. Meanwhile, the other reborn trainers, along with Drayton and Carmine, all stood on the side of the battlefield to watch it as Kenny has his battle against Amarys.

The battle kicked off with Amarys tossing up two balls while saying, "Go, Skarmory and Dugtrio!" Amarys's first two Pokémon were a Skarmory and an Alolan Dugtrio.

"Go, Godzilla and Elay!" Kenny said as he sent out his named Tyranitar and named shiny Kantonian Sandslash.

Gesturing forward, Amarys said, "Skarmory, use Stealth Rock! Dugtrio, use Sucker Punch on Tyranitar!"

"Godzilla, use Rock Slide!" Kenny called out, "Elay, use Rapid Spin on Dugtrio!"

Dugtrio, due to using a priority move that worked because its target was using an attacking move, struck first and hit Godzilla, scoring some minor chip damage. Elay went next, spinning quickly to ram into Dugtrio. Although the strike triggered Dugtrio's Tangling Hair ability which lowered Elay's speed, Elay got a speed boost from using Rapid Spin, so the boost and the drop ended up canceling each other out.

Godzilla went next and hit both Dugtrio and Skarmory with Rock Slide. Dugtrio despite resisting still took good damage, and Skarmory in addition to taking a critical hit actually flinched, so it failed to get its Stealth Rock up. Kenny and Amarys repeated the same song and dance in the next round of attacks, but this time Amarys's Skarmory went down.

"Skarmory return," Amarys said as she recalled her fainted Skarmory, "Go, Empoleon!" To the surprise of the other reborn trainers, Amarys's third Pokémon turned out to be an Empoleon. As she gestured forward, Amarys said, "Dugtrio, use Sucker Punch on Tyranitar! Empoleon, use Hydro Pump on Tyranitar!"

"Godzilla, use Earthquake!" Kenny called out, "Elay return! Okay, Hoodini! Let's make it cringe!" Kenny quickly recalled his named shiny Kantonian Sandslash and sent out his named Noctowl in its place. Dugtrio then struck Godzilla with Sucker Punch, doing very little but at least something. Godzilla then lashed out with a wracking quake that shook the entire battlefield, damaging both of Amarys's Pokémon greatly but leaving the airborne Hoodini alone.

As a matter of fact, Dugtrio was actually knocked out by the attack, but Empoleon barely hung on, and was able to get off its Hydro Pump which hit Godzilla and knocked it out. "Every single time, man," Kenny muttered under his breath as he recalled his fainted named Tyranitar. Tossing up a Pokéball, Kenny said, "Alright, Cell! Let's make it cringe!"

"Go, Reuniculus!" Amarys said as she sent out a Reuniculus after recalling her fainted Dugtrio after Kenny sent out his named shiny Scizor. Gesturing forward, Amarys said, "Reuniculus, use Protect! Empoleon, use Hydro Pump on Scizor!"

"Cell, use X-Scissor on Empoleon!" Kenny called out, "Hoodini, use Shadow Ball on Empoleon!" Reuniculus threw up a protective barrier that would block all attacks, but it was only useful even though neither enemy attack was aimed at it because Hoodini's Shadow Ball, with the benefit of range, took Empoleon out which forced Cell to shift target to Reuniculus, who blocked the attack with its Protect.

Amarys recalled her fainted Empoleon and sent out her own Scizor in its place, its red coloration a stark contrast to the green coloration of Cell the shiny Scizor. Gesturing forward, Amarys called out, "Scizor, use Bullet Punch on Noctowl! Reuniculus, use Psychic on Noctowl!"

"Cell, use X-Scissor on Reuniculus!" Kenny said, "Hoodini, use Shadow Ball on Reuniculus!"

The enemy Scizor was able to strike first due to using a priority move, hitting Hoodini for a moderate strike. Hoodini was then able to conjure and cast its Shadow Ball attack at Reuniculus, scoring a strong hit. That, plus Cell's X-Scissor striking hard in a critical hit, ended up knocking out Amarys's Reuniculus before it was able to attack.

After Amarys recalled her fainted Reuniculus, she sent out her last Pokémon which was a Metagross. Consequently, Kenny swapped Hoodini out and sent out Goofy, his named Houndoom, figuring that having a fire type out would be a good idea to help melt the enemy steel and wrap up this second BB League Elite Four battle quickly.

Everyone then saw it as Amarys terastallized her Metagross, making it pure steel as it had the steel tera type. Kenny decided to do the same with Cell, and to Kenny's piqued interest Cell had ended up having the steel tera type as well. "Cell, use Brick Break on Metagross!" Kenny ordered, "Goofy, use Flamethrower on the enemy Scizor!"

"Scizor, use Pounce on Houndoom!" Amarys called out, "Metagross, use Brick Break on the enemy Scizor!" Goofy went first and blasted Amarys's Scizor with Flamethrower, scoring a times four super effective hit that knocked out the red Scizor which Amarys then recalled. Cell went next and struck Metagross with Brick Break, which was super effective on Metagross as terastallization made Metagross pure steel, taking away its psychic typing which would have curbed Brick Break's damage.

But Metagross was able to strike back at Cell with its own Brick Break, and it hit the pure steel Cell right on his abdomen, making him stumble back as he gasped in pain. "Oh for the love of frig!" cried Kenny, "Why does Cell keep getting hit right in the schmeat?!"

"I do not know what this 'schmeat' you speak of is," Amarys said, "But it would appear that your Scizor's abdomen is a weak spot for it." Gesturing forward, Amarys said, "Metagross, use Brick Break on Scizor again!"

"Cell return!" Kenny called out, "Okay, Ban! Let's make it cringe! Goofy, use Flamethrower on Metagross!" Coming out in Cell's place was Kenny's named Sableye, which would take no damage from Brick Break. However, Metagross was knocked out by Goofy's Flamethrower, so even if Cell remained out it wouldn't risk another strike to its schmeat.

Amarys recalled her fainted Metagross, nodded once in acknowledgement. "It would appear that you had won this battle, Kenny," Amarys said, "Congratulations. This means that you are now halfway through clearing the BB League Elite Four, since you had previously said that only Lacey and Drayton after me will remain for you to face."

Nodding once, Kenny said, "Yeah, I still have a fair amount of work ahead of me. But never let it be said that I'm not up for the challenge." With Amarys and Crispin defeated, Kenny only had to deal with Lacey and Drayton now. If he bests them, then he can go on to face Kieran for the title of BB League Champion. Although winning against Kieran in the Championship Match isn't what Kenny really wants out of the battle, though he aims to win nonetheless.

Kenny wants to snap someone he considers a good friend back to normal.

Back at the Central Plaza, as Kenny's Pokémon were being treated, Trip said, "So Drayton, now that Kenny has defeated two of the four members of the BB League's Elite Four, who among those that are left do you suggest that Kenny takes on next?"

"That would have to be Lacey," Drayton replied, "Second strongest of the BB League Elite Four overall, but currently the one who is lowest ranked because of the weird and bizarre ranking system that Kieran had put into place after he became the BB League Champion."

"From what I understand on the subject," Mina began, "Lacey is the lowest ranked member of the BB League Elite Four because she messed up big time despite being told ahead of time to not mess up and how to avoid messing up."

"Well how was she supposed to know that what she said would trigger a spoiled brat?" Drayton defended.

"Why did she say anything period that didn't agree with what the spoiled brat said?" Mina shot back, "Keep in mind that she was warned ahead of time to not say or do anything that would set off the spoiled brat and or anyone in his party, but she did so anyway. As sucky as it is, they held all or the cards, so appealing to their egos was the only option that this school had to survive."

Scowling, Drayton said, "I still don't like it."

"No-one ever said you had to like it," Mina replied, "Just acknowledge it, understand it, and accept it."

"That just isn't fair," Drayton remarked.

Shrugging, Mina countered, "Life seldom is ever fair." Looking to Drayton, Mina went on, "So what type of Pokémon does Lacey use?"

"She's a user of fairy type Pokémon," Drayton said, "She's also obsessed with things that she has deemed as 'cute'. She also has had trouble taking compliments, often using her status as the daughter of Unovan gym leader Clay to make boys trying to flirt with her leave her alone and make herself this sort of unattainable cute girl. Sort of like she actually likes teasing guys on how she's right there but they can never reach for her."

Folding her arms over her chest, Carmine said, "But ever since the incident where she screwed over Blueberry Academy because she said no to one of the spoiled brats from Paldea, Lacey has gotten far more open and receptive to compliments, and she won't make others leave her alone. But then again, she's being left alone anyway by most every student in the student body of Blueberry Academy due to how it was her faux pax that's running a high risk of getting the school shut down."

Turning to look at Carmine, Kenny said, "I don't recall anyone asking you a damn thing. You're still largely at fault for Kieran snapping, you oblivious bitch."

"I take it that your Pokémon are done being treated?" Trip asked Kenny.

Nodding once, Kenny replied, "Oh yeah, my Pokémon are in tip top shape again. I also heard that the next member of the BB League Elite Four uses fairy type Pokémon. I got just the team build in mind to deal with that messy business."

Turning to look at Drayton, Trip asked dryly, "Does Lacey have a fully evolved starter Pokémon? For that matter, do you and or Kieran have one?"

Listing off of her fingers, Carmine said, "Lacey's got a Primarina, Drayton's got a Sceptile, and Kieran's got an Incineroar. Why do you ask?"

"Because it sounds like all three of those specific Pokémon are going to defeat Kenny's Tyranitar," Trip said dryly.

"GODZILLA WILL BREAK THE CURSE ONE DAY I SWEAR TO ARTEMIS!" Kenny declared loudly in an exclaiming manner.

Later, the heroes, Drayton, and Carmine made their way to the battlefield in the Coastal Biome, where Lacey was already waiting. Lacey seemed to be feeling guilty about something, and Kenny and the others had a fair good idea what it was that Lacey was feeling guilty about. Still, there was business here that Kenny and Lacey had to handle so that Kenny would be able to attempt to snap Kieran back to normal.

Before anyone spoke up, Dawn actually cut in to say something. "Can I say something nice about you without you throwing it back in my face?" Dawn asked as she directly faced Lacey.

Perking up a bit, Lacey replied, "What is it?"

Gesturing to Lacey, Dawn said, "Your long pinkish purplish cardigan that you're wearing. I like it, it looks really cute."

Lacey took a second to process the compliment, but immediately afterwards she gave a small but appreciative smile. "Thanks. I like it as well, I even got multiples of it so I can wear a copy of one if the one I'm currently wearing has to be put in the dirty laundry."

Clapping his hands together before rubbing them, Kenny said, "Alright alright alright alright alright! Now that I'm here and ready to rumble, let's get down to business so that I can reach my good chum Kieran and hopefully snap him out of the bitchiness that his older sister had infected him with."

"You certainly have some... colorful language to describe the kind of person Carmine is, Kenny," Lacey remarked as she and Kenny took their places on the battlefield while everyone else went to stand on by side of the battlefield to watch the battle that was about to go down.

"All of it is deserved by Carmine," Trip said, "She's had it coming for a long time!" Carmine was about to speak up to object, but Dawn threatened her with Muffin into shutting up and sitting still. With all other obligations out of the way, the battle between Kenny and Lacey was able to kick off to see if Kenny could take the next step towards trying to snap Kieran back to normal.

"Go, Granbull and Whimsicott!" Lacey said as she sent out a Granbull and a Whimsicott.

"Go, Godzilla and Goofy!" Kenny said as he sent out his named Tyranitar and named Houndoom, "Godzilla, use Rock Slide! Goofy, use Flamethrower on Whimsicott!"

"Whimsicott, use Energy Ball on Tyranitar!" Lacey called out, "Granbull, use Play Rough on Tyranitar!"

The battle kicked off with Goofy going first, his Flamethrower striking Whimsicott and bringing it down to the brink of defeat; it looked to barely have one hit point left. Surprisingly, Godzilla went next, its Rock Slide striking both Whimsicott and Granbull and knocking out Whimsicott while Granbull barely avoided both defeat and the flinch chance from Rock Slide. Granbull went on to strike Godzilla with Play Rough, dealing a moderate hit.

After she had called back her fainted Whimsicott, Lacey sent out her third Pokémon with a cry of, "Go, Primarina!" To Kenny's suspicion, Lacey's third Pokémon was her Primarina.

"Godzilla, use Rock Slide!" Kenny called out, "Goofy, use Sludge Bomb on Primarina!"

"Granbull, use Play Rough on Tyranitar!" Lacey ordered, "Primarina, use Moonblast on Tyranitar!"

Goofy was the first to attack that round, conjuring and casting a Sludge Bomb attack at Primarina that struck it with a critical hit and poisoned it, but it barely endured. Godzilla was then able to get off its Rock Slide attack, but Primarina avoided it while Granbull was hit and taken out. Primarina was then able to conjure and cast its Moonblast at Godzilla, striking it with a critical hit that ended up taking it out of the battle.

Primarina after defeating Godzilla was then pained by its poisoning and fainted, leading Lacey to call back both Granbull and Primarina while Kenny called back Godzilla. "Damn it, every time he faces a fully evolved starter," Kenny muttered to himself under his breath as he recalled his fainted Tyranitar. Tossing up a Pokéball, Kenny called out, "Okay, Giyu! Let's make it cringe!" Coming out to battle was Kenny's named Hisuian Samurott.

"Go, Slobro and Alcremie!" Lacey said as she sent out a Galarian Slowbro and an Alcremie. Pointing forward, Lacey said, "Slowbro, use Psychic on that weird looking Samurott! Alcremie, use Alluring Voice on Houndoom!"

Kenny was surprised that Lacey called for a psychic type attack on the part dark type Hisuian Samurott. She obviously didn't know Giyu was part dark type. Deciding to strike while the iron was hot, Kenny said, "Giyu, use Aqua Cutter on Alcremie! Goofy, use Sludge Bomb on Alcremie!"

Goofy went first and blasted Alcremie with Sludge Bomb, dealing a lot of damage but not quite knocking it out. But the Aqua Cutter from Giyu knocked Alcremie out, keeping it from being able to attack. Slowbro's Psychic went on to blast Giyu with impunity, but a fat load of good it did, given that Giyu being the Hisuian version of Samurott made him part dark type thus immune to psychic attacks like Psychic.

Lacey, as she called back her fainted Alcremie, asked, "How did your Samurott take that Psychic attack from my Slowbro without any harm?"

"Giyu is a Hisuian Samurott," Kenny explained, "The Hisuian variety of Samurott is part dark type, which makes it immune to Psychic attacks like Psychic."

Scowling a bit, Lacey said, "I had no idea Pokémon from Sinnoh's Hisuian period would be here at Blueberry Academy. I wasn't even aware some of them can be found in the present day." Tossing up the ball containing her last Pokémon, Lacey said, "Go, Excadrill!" Lacey's final Pokémon turned out to be an Excadrill, which she Terastallized into Tera Fairy type, something Kenny was able to see as well as identify.

Pointing forward, Lacey ordered, "Slobro, use Shell Side Arm on Samurott! Excadrill, use Tera Blast on Samurott!"

"Giyu, use Aqua Cutter on Excadrill!" Kenny commanded, "Goofy, use Sludge Bomb on Excadrill!" Goofy went first, and his Sludge Bomb was able to work on the steel type Excadrill because of how Terastallization made Excadrill a pure fairy type at the moment. Giyu was then able to strike right at Excadrill with Aqua Cutter, scoring a solid hit that knocked Excadrill out of both Terastallization and the battle as a whole.

Slowbro was then able to carry out its attack, but its slow and clumsy movements allowed for Giyu to avoid the Shell Side Arm attack. Lacey tried calling for another Shell Side Arm after she called her fainted Excadrill back, but Slowbro was knocked out by a mix of Dark Pulse and Night Slash before it was able to attack. With Slowbro knocked out, Kenny was declared the winner of the battle, and as such his trek through the BB League Elite Four was one step closer to being completed.

And being one step closer to clearing the BB League Elite Four meant that Kenny was one step closer to reaching his destined battle with Kieran.

Later on over at the Central Plaza, as Kenny's Pokémon were being treated, the other reborn trainers were talking to Drayton. "Why did Lacey ask us to wait for her here while she went to her dorm room to get something?" Mina asked.

Shrugging, Drayton replied, "No clue. But given the appreciative look she shot in Dawn's direction, my guess is that she wanted to go grab something she intends to share with Dawn, or whatever. She had had a rough go ever since that spoiled brat took being told no by Lacey way too far, so to see her happy and appreciative towards someone was a nice change of pace. Thanks for helping to make Lacey feel better, Dawn."

"I have no idea what it is that I did, but I'm glad to see that I helped to make someone who has been down in the dumps feel better," Dawn replied. As Kenny's Pokémon were still being treated, Lacey came walking back over to the group, having returned from her dorm room. She was carrying some sort of folded up clothing item in her arms when she arrived.

Walking up to Dawn, Lacey said as she handed what she was carrying over to her, "Here you go, Dawn. I just wanted to say thanks for how you were so kind to me, given that I've gotten practically no such consideration outside of the BB League Elite Four and a small number of teachers here ever since I screwed up that day. Plus, you may need this as the last battle Kenny will have with the BB League Elite Four will be against Drayton in the Polar Biome which is rather nippy."

Curious, Dawn unfolded the clothing item Lacey gave her, and it turned out to be a copy of Lacey's long cardigan. "You really have multiples of these?" Dawn asked.

"My mom found them on sale at a bargain store and figured it'd be wise to get multiple so I don't have only the one," Lacey explained, "She even got them at a bargain store. Sure, my dad's rich due to his mining business, but that doesn't stop my mom from trying to be frugal, she says it's never good to be wasteful in spending."

"That's actually a sound bit of advice," Dawn said as she took her bag's strap off from over her shoulder, set the bag down, and put on the cardigan Lacey gave her. Looking to her friends, Dawn asked, "So what do you all think?"

"What I wanna know is what Lacey said about there being a friggin' Polar Biome," Trip replied.

"Heh heh, oh yeah, the Polar Biome," Drayton said, "It's one of the four biomes here in the Terarium. It's also where my stomping grounds are located. My dragon Pokémon and I will be giving Kenny quite the chilly welcome."

"And that's another thing," Mina said, "Why dragons in a chilly area like a Polar Biome? Wouldn't they hate the cold as cold is connected to ice which is a weakness for dragons?"

Scowling, Drayton said, "I originally wanted the Savannah Biome, but I lost a lottery way back when the Biomes were being sorted out." Turning to look at Kenny who came walking up, Drayton said, "I take it you're ready now?"

"Damn skippy I'm ready," Kenny replied.

Nodding once, Drayton said, "Very well. Let us head on over to the Polar Biome." Drayton then led the way for the reborn trainers and Carmine to follow him over to the Polar Biome, so that Kenny would be able to have his final BB League Elite Four battle to see if he would be able to challenge the BB League Champion.

A short while later in the Polar Biome, the other reborn trainers and Carmine stood off to the side of a battlefield as Kenny and Drayton stood on opposite ends of it. "Damn, this place is almost as cold as Carmine's behavior towards Kieran," Kenny said.

Nodding once, Drayton said, "Yeah, the cold can be bracing. Anyway, we got business here to get to, so let's handle it." Tossing up two Pokéballs, Drayton said, "Go, Flygon and Dragonite!"

"Go, Godzilla and Shallot!" Kenny called out as he sent out his named Tyranitar and named Glaceon. Gesturing forward, Kenny called out, "Godzilla, use Rock Slide! Shallot, use Ice Beam on Flygon!"

"Flygon, use Breaking Swipe!" Drayton ordered, "Dragonite, use Thunder Punch on Tyranitar!"

Shallot was the first to attack, firing an icy cold beam of icy blue energy at Flygon that, thanks to being times four super effective and getting S.T.A.B, ended up knocking out Flygon before it could even attack. Godzilla's Rock Slide went next, and although it did do a good chunk of damage to Dragonite, it was able to endure and go on to hit Godzilla with Thunder Punch which ended up inflicting paralysis.

After recalling Flygon, Drayton tossed up another ball as he said, "Go, Sceptile!" After Drayton's Sceptile, which is a fully evolved starter Pokémon by the way, came out into battle, Drayton called out, "Sceptile, use Leaf Storm on Tyranitar! Dragonite, use Tailwind!"

"Shallot, use Ice Beam on Dragonite!" Kenny commanded, "Godzilla, use Rock Slide!"

Sceptile went first and blasted Godzilla with a super effective Leaf Storm that ended up scoring a critical hit and knocking Godzilla out. However, Shallot's Ice Beam ended up knocking out Drayton's Dragonite before it could get its Tailwind off. Both Kenny and Drayton had to recall one fainted Pokémon each, and once more Kenny was annoyed that Godzilla has yet to successfully break the curse that he is apparently under, a curse that apparently doesn't apply to JUST fully evolved starter Pokémon belonging to Team Scorn Admins.

Tossing up a Pokéball, Drayton called out, "Go, Haxorus!"

"Okay, Zarbon!" Kenny said as he sent out his named Machamp, "Let's make it cringe!" Zarbon came out into battle, letting out a loud moan of aroused, sensual pleasure. This drew curious looks from both Drayton and his dragons.

Gesturing forward, Drayton said, "Sceptile, use Acrobatics on Glaceon! Haxorus, use Iron Head on Glaceon!"

"Zarbon, use Dynamic Punch on Haxorus!" Kenny called out, "Shallot, use Ice Beam on Haxorus!"

Sceptile went first again due to its speed and was able to hit the named Glaceon with Acrobatics. But Shallot hit Haxorus with Ice Beam and even froze it, allowing Zarbon to come in and knock it out with Dynamic Punch. Drayton was forced to call his fainted Haxorus back and send out his next Pokémon into the battle. "Go, Kingdra!" Drayton said as he sent out his Kingdra, "Use Rain Dance! Sceptile, use Acrobatics on Glaceon!"

"Zarbon, use Dynamic Punch on Kingdra!" Kenny called out, "Shallot, use Ice Beam on Kingdra!"

Once more, Sceptile got in and landed a decent hit on Shallot, who took it fairly well and went on to hit Kingdra with Ice Beam but failed to freeze it. Kingdra got its Rain Dance off, and then it went down to the hard fisting that Zarbon gave it. This left Drayton with one last Pokémon to send out into the battle to back up Sceptile.

"Go, Archaludon!" Drayton called out as he sent out a Pokémon that resembled Duraludon but taller and somewhat more slender in the body but with sturdier limbs. It overall resembled a bridge.

Pointing at Archaludon, Kenny said, "What in the name of Artemis is that thing?!"

"This is my Archaludon," Drayton explained, "The species evolves from Duraludon when someone uses an item called a Metal Alloy on a Duraludon, sort of like how one uses an evolutionary stone to evolve certain Pokémon like Eevee."

Nodding once, Kenny said, "That's fair."

Smirking in amusement, Drayton said as he took out his Tera Orb, "But this is where the fun begins." He then threw the Tera Orb at Archaludon to Terastallize it, turning it to Tera Dragon. "Sceptile, use Dragon Cheer on Archaludon!" Drayton called out, "Archaludon, use Electro Shot on Glaceon!"

In a split second, Kenny figured that the move Drayton called for Archaludon to use, Electro Shot, had to be an electric type attack given that it's called Electro Shot. And he had a vague idea what Dragon Cheer did because of how one of Trip's Dipplins he caught in Kitakami had evolved into Hydrapple after learning the move; it's basically a dragon type variant of Helping Hand more or less. Regardless, only Archaludon was using an attacking move, and it seemed to be an electric type attack aimed at Shallot.

...But it would be aimed instead at a different bruddah. "Zarbon, use Dynamic Punch on Sceptile!" Kenny called out, "Shallot return! Okay, Elay! Let's make it cringe!" Coming out into battle after Shallot was called back was Elay, Kenny's named shiny Kantonian Sandslash, who let out a simple tongue clicking noise upon entering battle.

Sceptile's Dragon Cheer went off without a hitch, bolstering Archaludon, but a fat load of good it did as Archaludon's move was an electric attack and it hit the ground type Elay. Zarbon's Dynamic Punch went on to strike Sceptile, and while it barely avoided being knocked out, Sceptile did end up being confused by the hard fisting it took from Zarbon.

Gesturing forward, Kenny said, "Zarbon, use Dynamic Punch on Archaludon! Elay, use Rapid Spin on Archaludon!"

"Sceptile, use Acrobatics on Machamp!" Drayton called out, "Archaludon, use Flash Cannon on Sandslash!" Drayton called out.

Sceptile was first to attack, but it not only hit itself in confusion, it did so hard enough to knock itself out. Elay then struck Archaludon with Rapid Spin, dealing a moderate hit but triggering Archaludon's Stamina ability which raised its defense. Archaludon was then able to blast Elay with Flash Cannon, and it looked to have taken over half of Elay's health.

Zarbon then struck Archaludon with Dynamic Punch, bringing it clearly into red health as well as confusing it. The first boost to defense from Stamina must have helped Archaludon tank Dynamic Punch, but it didn't look like it could take another round. Kenny was going to press while the iron was as hot as possible.

"Elay, use Rapid Spin on Archaludon!" Kenny ordered, "Zarbon, use Cross Chop on Archaludon!"

"Archaludon, use Flash Canon on Sandslash!" Drayton commanded.

Elay went first and dealt a solid hit that Archaludon still tanked but barely, and triggered a defense boost from Stamina again. Then Archaludon tried attacking but hit itself in confusion, doing so hard enough to knock itself out and making Zarbon stop short as there was no enemy Pokémon left for him to give a hard pounding to. With Archaludon going down, Kenny won the battle.

Rather than be upset that he lost, Drayton was nothing but smiles. "...Yeah, you're strong enough to face Kieran to try and knock him off of his high horse Pokémon," Drayton said as he recalled his fainted Archaludon, "Let's get you over to the Central Plaza so your Pokémon can be treated there. Mine need a going over as well."

After Kenny recalled Zarbon and Elay, he and the others all followed Drayton, where Kenny would prep so that he could face his destiny and try to snap Kieran out of the funk he was in, a funk that's at least ninety-one point six percent Carmine's fault.

Drayton had his Pokémon treated first, then he took off to let the other BB League Elite Four members and Kieran know that Kenny is ready for his battle against Kieran. This left the reborn trainers alone with Carmine as Kenny, having finished getting his Pokémon treated, was deciding on what Pokémon to rotate into his party for the battle against Kieran.

Looking curious, Carmine said, "Umm, Kenny, what Pokémon do you plan to use against Kieran?"

"Why do you care?" Kenny asked.

Looking concerned, Carmine said, "Just tell me. You may or may not be breaking certain rules here at Blueberry Academy depending on what Pokémon you choose to use."

After considering Carmine's words for a moment, Kenny said, "Well first, because I was told Kieran has an Incineroar, I'm going to bring Godzilla so he has a chance to break the curse he's under. I was planning to fill out the rest of the team with big name guys from among my selection of legendary, mythical, and similarly exotic Pokémon. I was figuring the the more that I brought to the table, the harder and faster I'd be able to smack Kieran back to normal."

Carmine continued to look concerned. "That's what I was afraid of."

"What do you mean?" Trip said, looking and sounding suspicious.

To the reborn trainers, Carmine explained, "The use of such Pokémon in battles in the BB League is actually forbidden. Even if it wasn't, it wouldn't do Kieran any good right now if you did go through with such a plan. I know full well that even Kieran, as strong as he his now, would stand no chance if you Kenny went through with such a plan. It could wreck him psychologically and whatnot, having gotten to a high position only to have it snatched away by someone stomping him with a selection of very rare and powerful Pokémon only a handful of people in the world can compare to."

Folding her arms over her chest, Mina said, "So Kenny ought to forego using legendaries and mythicals, as well as other special Pokémon like his Paradox Pokémon and the one Ultra Beast that he has in his cringe posse."

Nodding once, Carmine said, "It's actually required by the rules like I said, but even if it wasn't I would still recommend it, if only for Kieran's sake."

Folding his arms over his chest, Kenny said, "Well alright then, if it's Blueballs Academy rules then I guess I have to go along with it." Kenny then went about planning on what Pokémon to bring with him into the battle he was going to have with Kieran to see who would be rocking the title of BB League Champion by the end of proceedings. He turned around to discuss with the other reborn trainers to figure out what Pokémon of his to bring into the battle.

All of the reborn trainers had their backs to Carmine, so none of them saw her smirk knowingly.

END, CHAPTER THREE-HUNDRED AND TEN

Author's notes;

This chapter sees Kenny clear the remaining BB League Elite Four battles and qualify for the match against Kieran who is the BB League Champion. A few side bits occur, like Dawn getting a copy of the long cardigan that Lacey wears, and Godzilla being knocked out by every fully evolved starter Pokémon that is used by a BB League Elite Four member. But Kenny still clears all of the battles and is able to reach the destined battle against Kieran.

Prior to the battle however, Carmine who is all alone with the reborn trainers tells them that Kenny isn't allowed to use any of his exotic Pokémon in accordance to BB League rules, while also saying she'd ask Kenny to refrain from using such Pokémon anyway because he'd totally curbstomp Kieran in such a situation, and a curbstomp like that wouldn't be all that good for him psychologically. As such, Kenny decides to change his team layout.

How the BB League Championship battle between current title holder Kieran and the title challenger Kenny will go will be seen in the next chapter. Until then, take care.
