Pokémon Trainer Hero

Chapter 21: Legendary Image

The next day Gar's hangover had subsided and his normal cheary self returned in stride…..for a small portion of the day. As throughout the whole day, Kaminari of all people, was bothering him non stop. The only hint that the class could get was that Kaminair wanted something from Gar or for him to do something. As the eclectic teen kept saying 'please' to Gar over and over again. While Gar, progressively, kept getting more and more aggressive with his 'no'. To the point at which he was almost starting to look briefly like Bakugou when he shouted at him.

Eventually the end of the day had come and Kaminair had switched gears from asking, to straight up begging Gar. Grabbing at the older teens leg and dragging him along the ground like a winning child. Gar kept steadfast and continued to deny him...whatever he wanted as he dragged him across the ground. So others thought of this to be funny, while others just thought it was sad, and some were just starting to get annoyed by Kaiminair constantly saying the same word over and over.

"Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please!", Kaminair begged him while wrapping his whole body around his leg!

Gar, who couldn't even move now, finally conceded defeat and yelled at him, "FINE! I'LL DO IT ! I'LL DO IT! JUST LET GO OF ME AND NEVER ASKING FOR THIS AGAIN!"

"WOOOOOOOOO!", Kaminair cheered while letting go of his leg and falling to the floor!

Gar signed agevatedly and shook out the pins and needles from his leg. As this happened, one of the students walked up and finally asked just what the heck is going on.

"Gar-kun, just what in the heck has Kaminair been begging from you all day?", Uraraka asked.

Mina helped the electric teen from the floor and added in lustfully, "Yeah Kaminari, I'm sure all of us wanna see Gar's hot half naked man body glistening with sweat, but honestly begging is just low."

Gar gave her an unamused expression while saying in a serious yet bland tone, "Mina, we've talked about this."

Mina giggled and replied, "I'm only teasing."

Gar sighed exhausted and explained, "Denki has been begging me to see my bird."

"I can give him one of thoses.", Bakugou chimed in while holding up two middle fingers.

"No no no! The other bird.", Gar exclaimed while waving his hands.

Mineta looked at Kaminair in shock as he exclaimed, "Kaminair-kun I didn't know you swung that way!"

Gar waved his arms rapidly and he half shouted, "NO NO NO! I mean he wants to see my Legendary Birds!"

Everyone just looked at Gar weirdly, wondering what he ment, until Izuku was the one to pipe up and ask the important questions.

"You mean pokemon?", Izuku asked.

"Yes.", Gar replied blandly.

"Like Articuno?"

"Yes."

"There isn't just one?"

Gar shook his head and explained, "No, it's a trio. Articuno is just one of them, along with its counterparts Zapdos and Moltres."

"I didn't know there were two other.", Izuku stated in surprise.

"Neither did I.", Iida joined in.

"How did Kaminair find out?", Jiro asked the big question, making everyone turn their gazes to the blond teen who was looking very guilty.

Gar sighed and theroized, "I was discussing them with Nezu earlier this morning, and I had a feeling we were being watched the whole time. Looks like my hunch was correct."

Iida immediately stormed up to the guilty looking teen and scolded him with his robotic arms movements, "Kaminari-kun you really shouldn't be eavesdropping on other people! Especially adults! That extremely impolite and unprofessional hero behavior!"

Kaminair shot his hands up in defense as he tried to defend himself, while saying, "Aw come on guys, aren't you all the least bit curious?! I mean...we haven't even seen the first one, and now there's two more! How crazy is that?!"

"We've seen the first one already.", Momo commented.

"But not in person!", Kaminair shot back! He then looked to Gar and asked him pleadingly, "You'll still show them, right Gar?"

Gar back away from the electric teen and replied quickly, "So long as you don't beg me over and over or grab my leg, then yes."

Before Kaminair could celebrate, Gar quickly grabbed his lips and pulled his face to him as he exclaimed, "Just meet me behind the school, I have to go get their balls. And be on your guard! Legendaries are no laughing matter!", with that he left the class as Kaminair and the rest of 1-A all filed out to the back of the school for the grand unveiling.

Behind the School: After Hours

All of the teens stood behind the school building and impatient waited for Gar to return with his legendary pokemon to show off. Some of them grew antys since they would have to take a later train, or we're gonna be late for something else, or did not like waiting out in the sun with no shade, or just didn't want to wait in general! After about 20 minutes of waiting, Gar finally showed up with his trainer outfit dawned and a brand new Gengar designed hoodie he wore over his shoulders. He made his way to the group while taking very short strides, as if he were in nor hurry or wanted to prolong this.

Once he was in talking distance, Jiro asked calmly, "What took you so long?"

"I wanted to change after I grabbed the pokeballs.". He answered.

"You just wanted to prolong our waiting?", she asked again.

"I wanted to make that blond Clink-Clank suffer, so yes.", he answered truthfully while motioning to the bouncy electric teen.

"Did you bring them?!", Kaminair exclaimed while bouncing in his face!

Gar gently pushed him out of his breathing space and replied sarcastically, "No Denki, I just changed my clothes and walked out here just to go back and make you wait even longer."

"Awwww.", Kaminair's excited demeanor immediately dropped into sadness.

Gar rolled his eyes at this and followed up saying, "I'm joking. I did bring them."

"YAY!", Kaminari chered and several other students sighed in relief.
Gar then pushed the younger teen back and commanded everyone, "Now stand back! There's no telling what they'll do once they're out."

Gar then took three Ultra Balls off his belt and pushed the buttons, making them expand to full size. He then threw the balls into the air and each one popped open in a burst of blue light! The light manifested up to three distinct shapes and formed three large birds that had an elemental theme to them. Each bird stayed stationary on the ground with wings nicely tucked in and faces looking directly at Gar. Everyone gasped in shock and wonder as Gar rolled his eyes.

"Ta-freakin-da! Articuno the heralder of ice, Zapdos the heralder of lightning, Moltres the heralder of fire! Are you happy now?", he stated blandly with as much displeasure and boredom as he could.

"Who are those pokemon?", someone asked.

Just then, Rotom popped out from Gar's coat pocket and floated above each bird while reading their dex entries one-by-one. "Articuno, the Freeze pokemon, Dex #144. A Legendary Pokemon! Articuno is a legendary bird Pokémon that can control ice. The flapping of its wings chills the air. As a result, it is said that when this Pokémon flies, snow will fall and can create blizzards by freezing moisture in the air. The magnificent seemingly translucent wings of this legendary bird Pokémon are said to be made of ice. Zapdos, the Electric pokemon, Dex # 145. A Legendary Pokemon! A legendary Pokémon that is said to live in thunderclouds. It freely controls lightning bolts and causes savage thunderstorms by flapping its glittering wings. While it is flying, it makes a crackling and snapping sound. Moltres, the Flame Pokemon, Dex # 146. A Legendary Pokemon! Known as the legendary bird of fire. Every flap of its wings creates a dazzling flash of flames. Every time it flaps, its wings flare and burn brightly. This legendary bird Pokémon is said to bring early spring to the wintry lands it visits."

Articuno is a large avian Pokémon with predominantly blue plumage and wings said to be made of ice. On its forehead is a crest that consists of three, darker blue rhombus-shaped feathers. It has circular red eyes, a short gray beak, and long, thin gray legs. Each foot has three forward facing toes and one that faces backward. On its chest is a mass of pale blue, downy feathers. Its long, streamer-like tail is longer than its body and the same shade of blue as its crest.

Zapdos is a large, avian Pokémon with predominantly yellow plumage. It has small, triangular eyes with black around them and a long, thin, light orange beak. Its wings and tail are a mass of spiky feathers and there are black feathers covering the back of its wings and inner tail feathers. A large crest of spiked feathers surrounds its head. Its thighs are tan, and it has thin, light orange legs. It has feet with three forward facing toes and one backward facing toe; each toe has a short talon.

Moltres is a large, avian Pokémon with golden plumage. It has a long, flowing head crest and a billowing tail, both made of reddish-orange and yellow flames. Additionally, its wings are also shrouded in fiery plumage. It has a long, thin neck, a pointed, brown beak, and small, triangular eyes. Its thin, brown legs have feet that have three forward facing toes and one backward facing toe. It has short talons.

"Really Rotom?", Gar asked the pokemon with a displeased tone.

Rotom sweat dropped and replied before hiding back in his pocket, "Sorry. Buzzt. Force of habit. Buzzt."

As the teen ogled at the three pokemon and their majesty, Kaminair was one of the few that were least impressed or didn't show it. He made his opin known as he said out of the blue, "Their…..small."

Gar whipped his head to the teen and marched up to him while yelling, "Are you kidding me?! You annoy me all day to see them in person, and now that they are, you are complaining about their size?! You are so unappreciative!"

Kaminair backed away from the fuming older teen, put up his hands in defense, and lightly released his quirk out of stress, while stuttering out, "I'm sorry! It's just….the way you make these guys out, I was kinda expecting them to be these god sized beings of immense power. Not colored Emu's. I mean, that fiery looking chicken is probably the biggest one! And he's mostly neck!"

Gar looked between the pokemon he was pointing to and then back at him where he exclaimed insulted, "That's Moltres!"

"Who cares, these things are so small! Are they even legendaries?", Bakugou shouted.

Gar signed aggravatedly and answered, "It's not about the size of the Stoutland in the fight, but the size of the fight in the Poochyena."

"Don't you mean dog?", Iida corrected him.

Gar looked at him confused and asked, "What's a dog?"

"Riiiiiiight.", Iida drawled out, realizing Gar didn't know many animals.

"And yes they are legendaries! And the reason they're so small is because they're just the young ones.", Gar explained.

"Woah woah woah woah! Hold up there! Young ones? As an….children?", Kirishima stopped him.

"Adolescents, but yes.", Gar corrected.

"And you said ones, as in there are multiples?"

"Yes."

"That doesn't make any sense!", the red teen threw his hands in the air!

"Whaddya mean?", Gar asked confused.

Sero jumped in, nearly blabbering out his words at first, then finally managed to control his tongue and exclaimed,"You call them Legendaires and say they are literally the elements. And yet your saying that these are babies and there's more of them? What are you even trying to tell us!? Are they gods or normal pokemon!?"

"Both.", he replied calmly.

"We need more context here.", Momo chimed in a much calmer tone.

Gar rubbed his head and explained, "What's to say, you really think these guys are just all powerful deities? No, they're like anyother run of the mill pokemon. Sure they're really powerful, but they're still pokemon, just super duper rare. You have a better chance of finding a Drepy in the Dusty Dunes during a heat wave in the day, than finding an Articuno in an Ice cave."

"What?", Momo asked as Izuku giggled at the last part.

Gar waved it off while trying to hold back his laughter and finished up saying, "Look, long story short: Legendary Pokemon are powerful pokemon with the ability to restructure the whole world, but they're still just pokemon. They eat, breath, live, die, and mate like any other."

"But the way you describe them, it sounds like their immortal gods, and only one.", izuku chimed in.

Gar blew a raspberry and stated, "Don't be ridiculous, there isn't just one. There's lots of them. If there was just one, then the balance of the world would be thrown off! And only one person would hold that pokemon until it was stolen or lost. And they're not immortal either, they just have really really really long lifespans and breed once a century or so."

Izuku thought it over for a moment, and came to the concussion that it made the most sense since they were talking about something living and not atheraial. Izuku then followed up asking, "I thought you told me Legendaries were genderless. How do they breed?"

Gar tapped his chin, trying to think of the words, and then explained, "They don't really breed, it's more like, uh…..asexual reproduction. Like I said before they only do it once every century or so."

"So did you breed these guys?", Ayoama asked while admiring his reflection in Articunos nearly reflective feathers.

Gar shook his head and explained further, "No they're totally wild. It's near impossible to breed legendaries out of the wild. They need certain stimuli in order to release the proper hormones for reproduction, so it's near impossible along with the time gap they do take to reproduce. Plus they're really unpredictable!"

As he was explaining this, Koda was reaching out his hand in an attempt to pet Zapdos. The bird looked at the hand with a displeased look and reached up its beak towards him. Gar saw this and rushed forward, immediately pulling the teens hand away before the bird could snap its beak on it! Zapods let out a screech while flapping its wings, generating electricity that made a crackling sound!

"Hey hey hey! What part of unpredictable didn't sink into your head!", Gar yelled at the teen, who stared back at him with teary eyes.

"But you control Articuno so easily, so why isn't it the same for the other two?", Urarka asked while taking a step back from the pokemon.

"That's because ice types have a naturally chill temperament, no pun intended. Articuno is still a legendary Pokemon that can and will go ape shit at any time. Plus I've worked longer with Articuno than the other two so I know how he operates a little bit better.", Gar explained while nonchalantly petting Articuno.

"I thought pokémon were immediately loyal to you once you caught them?", Izuku asked.

"They are but they still have free will, legendaries especially. They're what you might call big headed. They just do things on their own terms. I mean if I had the power of nature at my fingertips, I'd probably get a swelled head myself.", Gar laughed nervously.

As this was going on, Moltres was taking a keen interest in Todoroki. Staring intensely at the young teenager with a mysterious look in its fiery eyes.

"Um, Gar?", Todoroki called for the older boy's attention after noticing the Pokemon."Why is the fire one looking at me?", He asked while pointing to the phoenix looking Pokemon.

Gar sighed in aggravation and corrected him in a firm tone, "Again, that's MOLTRES! And I don't know…..he is the element of fire, and part of your power involves that, so maybe he's just attracted to it?", He guesses.

Suddenly, the Pokemon began to walk up to the half and half teen, all while keeping his eyes pinned on him.

"Oh no! He's approaching Todoroki!", Mineta exclaimed while pointing to the scene!

"We don't need a play-by-play!", Jiro shouted at him while taking a few steps away from the bird.

"What should he do!?", Someone in the group asked.

Gar looked around frantically trying to think of something fast! Sure he could command Moltres to halt, but it only listens in the heat of battle. He could get one of the other birds to stop it, but that might turn into a three way battle….again, and who knows if everyone will be left unscathed. He could return the pokémon to its ball, but Legendaries don't like being in their ball and once out they try to stay out.

"Just don't make any sudden movements, let him do what he wants, and he'll leave you alone.", Gar finally came to a conclusion while raising his hands in front like a mime.

Moltres stood just a few feet from Todoroki, and the two kept their eyes locked onto one another. Never breaking, and rarely blinking. When Todoroki looked deep into the creatures eyes he didn't see his reflection looking back, but instead a great heap of fire and flame churning and expanding neverending in each pupil. The fire he saw was somehow terrifying and comforting at the same time.

Just then, Moltres gently placed the stock of it's long beak and Todoroki's left shoulder and left it there, making the teen freeze in place! This also caused everyone to stop any movement and stare at the Pokemon and teen in utter horror and suspension! Suspension is so thick that it causes many of them to hold their breath!

"What's it doing now?", Someone asked.

"Maybe he's just... warming up to you.", Gar pulled a dry smile.

"Dude, really?", Kirishima narrowed his eyes at him with an unamused tone.

Gar puffed out his checks and exclaimed in a low tone, "You got a better way to keep calm so Moltres doesn't turn Todoroki into a puddle of hot flesh?"

Suddenly Moltres pulled its beak away from Todoroki's body, which for a moment made everyone sigh in relief. But that changed to shock and stress as the moment the Pokemon did this, Todoroki's flames suddenly ignited the whole left side of his body! Making everyone jump in surprise from the sudden rose of the flames! Even Todorki looked shocked at the sight of his own quirk activating! All while Moltres looked on majestically at the teens fire, as if it were proud of its handy work, with the other two birds who seemed completely disinterred in what was happening.

But Todoroki quickly put his fire out by freezing his left side completely! This did not sit well with the legendary fire bird, as a look of shock and nager spread across its face. The pokemon then repeated the process again, but much quicker. Todoroki's fire flared up again and melted his icey armor! Making the teen panic and refreeze himself again! Moltres didn't like this and tried to pull Todorki's fire out again, but this time Todorki slapped the bird across its face before it could! Everyone gasped, Gar was frozen in place, and even the other two birds looked shocked by his actions! Moltres looked at the ground where its face was slapped and kept looking at that spot for several seconds until it looked back at the teen with red hot anger in its eyes! The pokemon screeched at him, kicked him to the ground and held him down with its foot! Todorki tried to struggle free, but the bird had too much strength against him! Moltres flapped one of its wings on the teen ice and melted it to vapor instantly, causing a streak of panic and terror to flash across the pinned teens face!

Moltres then did the same thing again and willed the teens fire out of his body once more, but this time the flames came out much stronger and thicker! Almost enveloping the teen entire left side with orange flames! Todoroki panicked as he flopped around in the bird's taloned foot to escape while his flames roared out of his control!

"STOP!", Todoroki screamed at the bird as he slapped the ground with his right hand and a sharp ice spike erupted up towards the pokemon!

Moltres quickly took off into the air and easily dodged the ice before they could hit! Todoroki took the opportunity to put his fire out, again, with his ice and lay on the ground painting like an exhausted dog! Moltres really didn't like this now, as its fire grew more intense and its screech became even louder! It flapped its wings so hard it started to turn the sky around it to a menacing blood red! The pokemon flew over and around the teen and without touching the teens body, yet again willed his fire out of him. Only this time the fire was even bigger and more powerful than before! Looking like a giant column of fire that stretched above the school and covered Todoroki so thickly that you couldn't even see the other half of his body! What's more, the fire looked like it was starting to spread and take over the other half of his body!

Todoroki was stuck to the ground by the sheer heat, exhaustion, fear, and fire slowly encroaching on the other side of his body! Tears sprung from his eyes as he desperately tried to will his fire away, but to no avail. As if his own fire was completely out of his control, and it terrified him. All of a sudden, the young teen saw old memories flash before his eyes. Memories he had long since locked away, and now they were coming to the surface, and each and everyone of them frightened him just as much as when he first experienced them. Especially the one about the fire, his fire, the fire that was within him, it was that man's fire, not his own, and it sent fear throughout his whale body!

Todoroki felt all his senses fail him as he tried to look or class out for help, but all he could do was see the blurry images of people panicking and the sound of his own ears ringing. He couldn't think, he couldn't talk, he couldn't breath, all he wanted to do was end this waking nightmare, but he couldn't! Todoroki summoned all his will power into one final move and shouted at the top of his lungs while activating his ice half!

The ice spread across the whole area in seconds, causing both people and pokemon to flee out of range, while his fire was completely smothered out! Everything was quiet for a moment with the only sound being Todoroki's baited breathing as he finally regained his senses and stood back up. Moltres landed on the now frozen ground that melted the moment it landed. Wings open and gaze intense, sharp, and hot. It stared down the teen standing on wobbly legs with nearly 3/4 of his body covered in ice. It then started to move towards him with a menacing aura surrounding its flaming body, an aura that the teen felt very quickly as he looked up to meet the pokemons gaze with his own.

The pokemon still advanced forward and Todoroki still made no signs of retaliation for movement. The teen dropped his head and continued to breathe heavily until he whipped up his head and he let out another primal war cry!

The teen then threw a huge ice attack at the pokemon while screaming completely out of character, "I'll kill you for that!"

Todoroki then sent wave after wave of intense ice against the bird pokemon! Each one carries more power, veracity, lethality than the last! But Moltres was fast and managed to dodge each and everyone with ease and grace as it danced in the air while Todorki blinding sent attack after attack! Then Todoroki suddenly stopped and collapsed to his knees in sheer exhaustion! Moltres took the opportunity and dove down towards him at a great pace! Just before the pokemon could slam into him with its talons, the teen suddenly sent one last ice attack at the pokemon and froze it solid!

Moltress stood there in the ice, mid air, and mid attack. Its flame seemed frozen in time within the fire, as Todoroki stared at the frozen pokemon with a deadly look in his two colored eyes. Before anyone could do anything else, the ice holding the pokemon started to crack and melt. Before Todoroki could react to this, Moltres busted out of the ice breathing a column of intense fire from its mouth! The fire was so hot it made the ice melt and rush off in streams like a waterfall! Once the pokemons main body was free it fired off a blast of fire that took the kanji for fire, and the flame headed directly for the teen! Todoroki managed to react just quick enough for him to put up an ice wall big enough to block the attack.

But the sheer power of the attack was so much greater than the ice wall that not only did it break, but the after blast sent the young teen flying back into the school building! Todoroki saw stars dance in his eyes as he tried to clear his head for whatever was to come next, and it came quicker than he expected. So quick he hadn't even got back his coordination fully as he saw Moltres soar through the steam and straight towards him with a visiouse look in his eyes! Todoroki expected this to be the end, or for the pokemon to cause his own quirk to burn him alive, but then something slammed into the pokemon from the side and threw it off from Todoroki!

The teen looked up and saw Moltres and Articuno in a full on air born scrimish! Each bird fought each other beak and talon, with the fury of a Wildfire and a Blizzard, until Articuno pulled a fast one and wrapped its long tail around Moltres's body. The pokemon lost control of its wings and was sent hurtling towards the ground with Articuno diving down after it! The birds slammed into the earth with Artcuno still restraining Moltres with its tail, preventing it from flying or flapping its wings. Moltres tried to break free as Artcuno stood on top of the struggling pokemon, never giving his counterpart an inch.

But Moltres's mouth was still free, which the pokemon used in full as it opened its mouth with a fire attack at the ready! But then its head was held down by the short and equally sharp talons of Zapdos! Now Moltres was fully restrained and unable to move any further, this was the time that Gar whipped out an ultra ball and called the pokemon back.

"Moltes, return!", a beam of light came out of the ball and hit the pokemon where it turned into the light and was reabsorbed by the ultra ball.

Gar clipped the ball back to his belt, turned to the other two birds and said, "Nice job you guys."

The pokemon screeched their cries at him, as if to say your welcome, and the older teen turned his attention back to the catastrophe and mahaemy that happened in just minutes! Gar checked up on all the younger teens, asking them if they were okay. Each of them nodded silently, replied a baited yes, or just didn't say anything as they sat on the icy hot ground. After seeing everyone was unharmed and stable, he turned his attention to Todorki. The teen was slumped against the wall; head dropped, breath heavy and ragged, body shaking, sweat pouring from his face, and half of his whole uniform completely burned off. Gar slowly and cautiously approaches the shaken teen like a hurt pokemon, unsure of how to go about helping him or moving past after all that just happened. A good chunk of this was his fault and now the poor boy had suffered for it, and for no reason at all. He was only a foot from Todorki as he raised up his hand and gently placed it on his bare shoulder.

"You hold up oka-?", Gar began to say until Todoroki snapped at him!

In an instant the teen whipped up his head and landed a hard punch square on Gar's face! If that wasn't enough, the fist was covered in ice, so the blow was even harder! Gar was cast back and skidded across the ground until he finally flopped down in a heap!

'So that's what an Ice Punch feels like.', Gar thought to himself as he tenderly touched his check.

Just as he lifted up his head, he saw Todoroki make a B-line away from the students and out towards the inner part of the school! Head casked down and ice trailing behind him! Gar tried to call out to him, but the pain in his face kept him from saying a word! So he flopped his head down and looked up at the sky with a deep sense of failure in his stomach. A feeling he hadn't felt in a long time.

As he stared up at the setting sun sky, he eventually saw his other two legendaries circle and look down on him. Soon the birds were joined by several students who stared down at the grounded teen. Eventually one of them offered a hand, Gar took it and was helped back to his feet. Only to then receive a swift punch to the gut!

Gar doubled over and gasped out in pain as all the air in his lungs were nearly knocked out! The other two birds did not like this and began to voice their displeases as they flapped their wings, causing the air to become icey cold and electric!

Gar looked up from his painful teary eyes at the angry face of Jiro, who had punched him, and he asked, "What was that for?"

Jiro looked at him with a mixture of shock and anger filled disgust as she shouted at him, "How could you say that after what just happened?!"

Zapdos didn't like the tone of Jiro's voice or her threatening position or Gar being attacked! So it snapped its sharp beak, flapped its wings hard, and screeched angrily as electricity coursed around its body!
Jiro turned to the angery bird and shouted back while holding up her earphone jacks up threathingly, "Oh shut up you stupid chicken, before I give you one too!"

Zapdos didn't like this even more, and the bird pokemon shot a steady stream of lightning into the air that quickly gathered a whole thunderstorm in seconds! The pokemon lifted into the air just as a huge bolt if lightning struck the Pokemon, causing it to glow a menacing electric yellow! It's wings crackled dangerously with each flap, and it's eyes were super charged with do much power the pupils were completely gone.

Kaminari leaned his head to Jiro, who was struck frozen at the display it put on, and side mouthed, "In hindsight Jiro-chan, I don't think threatening the heralder of lightning is any better than threatening the heralder of fire."

"I see that now.", she squeaked out in a small voice.

Zapdos screeched as the electricity surrounding its body condensed at its mouth where it was ready to shoot a beam on the girl! But the Pokemon stopped when Gar walked in front of it's attack with arms spread. Zapdos retracted its attack back into its body and screeched at its trainer, as if to tell him to get out of the way, but the teenager refused to move.

"Zapdos, stop!", he commanded the bird in a stern tone. But the Pokemon back talked to him with another screech. Gar sighed and said in a much calmer tone, "Just stop Zapdos, I know you are not gonna blast me. Besides, I kinda had that coming."

Zapdos reabsorbed it's attack and gently set itself back on the ground where the thunder storm dissipated as quickly as it came. Zapdos breathed out a small puff of electricity in defeat as Gar petted the smaller bird's head.

Gar sighed and turning to Jiro he stated, "If the fire elemental was bad, what made you think the lightning elemental was any better?"

"That's what I said!", Kaminair exclaimed, making Jiro frown at him!

"On a more serious note. What the heck was all that about?!", Sero exclaimed while getting abc on topic.

"That bird started to attack Todorki out of nowhere! With the fire, and the screaming, and you said not to do anything!", Kirishima chimed in.

Gar rubbed the bridge of his nose as he replied in a slightly irritated tone, "9/10 thats what you're supposed to do. And as I said, Legendaries. Are. UNPREDICTABLE! I don't even know everything about them. And I've caught every one."

"So why'd Moltres do that? And what was it even doing?", Mina asked him in a nicer tone.

"Maybey if someone didnt try and sock me in the guts, I would have explained sooner.", he stated while making a show to look directly at Jiro, who was looking away while anxiously twirling her earphone jacks. He ran his hand through his hair and explained further, "Look, Legnedaires are a fickle mystery. Not even the greatest minds can unravel their mystery. My only theory is Todorki's fire."

"Explain.", Iida asked further.

"Each of the elemental birds not only embody and control their elements, but maintain it as well. They keep balance to the world making sure neither of them takes presence over the other. Constant balance. They maintain it so tightly that they'll even do things that seem mediocrity or niche to others. Prompting many to think they have some form of atherail foresight that helps in the long run. They turn the wheels that turn other wheels.", Gar explained.

"So….your saying that Moltres sensed or saw an 'imbalance' in Todoroki-kun, and tried to 'fix' it?", Izuku theroized.

Gar nodded then added on, "Think about it for a moment. Shoto has a dual quirk that allows him to control two elements. And yet we've only seen one, and only now are we seeing the other because Moltres forced it out of him."

"Moltres can do that?", Uraraka asked bewildered.

"It's not the element of fire for nothing.", Gar answered simply.

"Then….then why did it force it out of him instead of taking some other route?", Momo asked with some fear in her voice.

Gar sighed like a parent explaining to his kids, for the thousandth time, why they couldn't drink alcohol, and said,"Legendaires are still pokemon, they operate by instinct instead of intellect...to a degree. Psychic types are the ones who think critically. But at the end of the day all legendaries are just big headed, ego inflated, infants whose one rule is 'It's their way or no way at all'."

That comment is what made the other two legendary birds narrow their eyes critically at the older teen who seemed unfazed by their gazes.

"And when it looked like it was gonna kill him?", Iida finally asked the big bad question.

"If something doesn't conform with the wishes of a legendary, then they subtract it from the equation. That's how most skirmishes between Legendaries break out. One does not want to listen to the other.", Gar explained with a terrifying amount of calmness in his voice.

"Thats pretty single minded and stupid.", Iida stated while pushing up his glasses.

"Welcome to the mindset of a legendary, you'll learn to live with it and like it.", Gar said back while giving a look of disillusion and deadpan.
