Pokémon Trainer Hero

Chapter 29: The Sports Festival part. 1-The Beginning

Two weeks had come and gone just like that! In those two weeks the students of UA had worked their butts off in their quirk usage, technique, and control. Gar, as Mei told him, had managed to pull out over 125 different pokeballs in the span of two weeks. But even with this, there were still no Beast Balls….not that he really needed them. He had already managed to pull out all three other pokemon he mentioned at the meeting...by some miracle from Arceus himself!

Gar was inevitably given an earful with Kaminair from Aizawa, when word broke out on what happened with Moltres and Todoroki. Even though no one had taken picture evidence or video, Todoroki wasn't the kind to snitch for reasons currently unknown, and everyone involved decided to keep it quiet during all the other commotion. All thanks to one little gremlin who thought he could score brownie points. Aizawa wouldn't accept Gar's excuse of 'that's how legendaires operate', and Kaminair for instigating the whole thing.

After this, Gar, along with UA and the hero community, set up plans and protocol in case of an attack from Bayo and Team Freak. The students of the school and the public were all warned and educated on what to do in such an event. Thanks to the many blueprints Rotom had saved and stored on his hard drive, UA managed to make and implement many new features to their security. New sensors, sonar, and alarms were built to track and warn of any suspicious activity via ghost types. Facial recognition installed into all cameras to detect any member of Team Freak, its admins, or Bayo himself.

And finally, new anti pokemon devices that would safely counter and detain any pokemon from team Freak, such as; magnetic locking shock and tranq collars, high pitched sound guns for stunning, magnetic weighted restraints, and an emergency EMP field that would deactivate the function of all pokeballs. Unfortunately this would affect all pokemon, and not just Team Freak! So extreme caution was highly advised by Gar.

On another point, the set up of the Festive was a near breeze with the help of all the new pokemon! Pokemon unloading, loading, packing, setting up, building, cleaning, and so much more for the festival and all the entertainment and stands. Strong pokemon lifted heavy things and built, small tough pokemon helped setup and unpack, handy pokemon cleaned, smart pokemon coordinated where everything would go, flying pokemon decorated or carried things to and from different sides of the arena.

Even Rotom helped out with Porygon 2, by operating all the electrical devices from within digital space, and both of them were loving every minute of it! Rotom and Porygon 2's faces would periodically show up on the jumbo screens to view the festival all around.

All in all, the pokemon set up 10 times quicker and more efficiently than ever before! The entire layout of the festival was set and ready days in advance!

Once the festival came, pokemon didn't stop at the set up, pokemon helped with a lot of the grunt work! Pokemon took tickets, acted as security, surveillance, aided in food stands, and they were even entertainment! There was a small stage where the two forms of Toxicity were having a battle of the bands, and a Primarina was singing to whoever's music was the best at the time.

Pokemon like Mr Mime, Wobbuffet, Jinx, and more were helping out in food stands making or serving food to patrons. Ironically enough, two takoyaki stands were being helped by an Octrillary and Mallamar separately, and the two of them had made a contest between their stands.

There were pedestals with small info charts along the stadium wall, giving info on some very ancient pokemon, with several different ancient pokemon posing on them. Bronzor and Bronzong, Baltoy and Claydol, Sigilyph, Golett and Golurk, Aegislah, and more!

There was a large 10x10m pen with several different pokemon to be interacted with and petted. Pokemon like; Ponyta, Blitzle, Pikachu, Snadshrew, Vulpix, Slowpoke, Dodou, Furret, Mareep, Wooloo, Stantler, Girafarig, and others. There was a line up of different dog pokemon including Boltund, Mightanya, Houndoom, Ninetails, every Eeveelution, and several different Furfrou whose hair was cut and styled differently.

There was an area where small pokemon were held in cages to be taken out and handled by people. Flying types like Pidgy, Swellow, Noctowl, Gligar, and more. Alongside Bug types like; Butterfree, Beautifly, Yamma, Masquiren, Ninjask, and more. In addition there were smaller handheld pokemon like; Dunsparce, Slakoth, Makuhita, Joltik, Spinda, and more. But the main attraction was Snorlax; who was, with paid entry, to be fed by people and allowed to bounce on its belly, and Snorlax enjoyed every moment of it….. so long as no one bounced on his face.

But in all the fun there was a very heavy and serious undertone. Flying pokemon kept watch from overhead and scanned over all people in the crowd, bug pokemon hid in between the cracks, many grass pokemon hid amongst the decorative flora, rock types hid as rocks, dark types hid in the shadows, ghost types literally hid in shadows and darkness, and even Steelix pitched in by going into a temporary dominate state, acting like a decorative statue.

All of Gar's pokemon were outfitted with a hair thin tracker and canceling device. Keeping track wherever they were on the premises, and alerting alarms if it were removed or they passed out. The spliced canceling device was outfitted mostly to the Ghost, Poison, and Dark types since that's what the sensors were mostly tracking due to Team Freak's preference.

The security pokemon were on near constant alertness at all times, and Gar had spared no expense to pick the best of the best for the job! Copperajah, Duraludon, Machoke and Machamp, Slacking, Grimsnarl, Clobbopus and Grapploct, Kommo-o, Incineroar, Pangoro, Ursaring, Beartic, Krookodile, Ryhorn, Gurdurr and Conkeldurr, Emboar, Bibarel, and more! Even a Beware and its young Stuffle with a vest on each that read in big warning colors 'DO NOT HUG!' All pokemon patrolled the perimeter and kept a close eye on everyone and everything that went in or out!

All in all, everything was a huge success, bringing in twice the people it normally would, and things had been completely calm for the time being. Everyone was enjoying themselves with the pokemon as they all waited for the actual festival to begin, even the young heroes of 1-A and 1-B couldn't help but get engrossed by everything around them. But in all the fun and excitement, some of the 1-A students couldn't help but wonder where Gar was? In the time they were here, they hadn't seen hide or hair of him anywhere, and it was starting to worry them.

That is until he came barreling through the crowds on the back of a three headed ostrich pokémon.

"Slow down! I said slow down you damn bird!", Gar shouted as the pokémon ran wildly!

The bird was on a collision course with a group of students and didn't seem interested in slowing down! So Izuku sprung into action and stood between the bird and the students! He planted his feet firmly and put one hand out in a stopping motion with a serious expression!

"Stop!", he said firmly, and the bird came back to its senses!

It immediately put on the breaks and came to a screeching halt, finally stopping when it was only a few feet from Izuku's outstretched hand! Unfortunately this also caused Gar to fly off its back and into a fountain filled with several water types. Gar made a huge splash when his body slammed into the 4 foot deep fountain, and stayed submerged for over several seconds before resurfacing! He pulled his head from the water and choked for air as a group of people and pokemon looked on at him.

The three headed bird was the one who quickly ran over and helped the teen out of the pond, by pulling him out with its three heads. Izuku and a few others ran over to the drenched teen in concern as he continued to cough up water. Gar got to his feet and tried to scold the bird, but the only thing that came out was water and more coughing.

"Gar-kun, are you okay?", Uraraka asked in concern.

Gar coughed a few more times and finally found his voice again as he said, "I'm good. A little soaked and scraped up, but fine."

"For a so-called 'Pokemon Master' you don't seem to hold a good control of your pets.", Bakugou vexed him.

Gar rolled his eyes and shot back, "They still have their own thoughts and personalities. Their not mindless slaves meant to do my bidding. And I do have control over them, just more so in battle. Aizawa doesn't have full control over you now does he?"

Bakugou clicked his tongue and trunks away.

"What's up with the bird thing anyway? Why was it going so crazy?", Iida asked while petting the bird's brown body plumage.

"He really likes to run, and the air around here is so refreshing that I guess he couldn't help but bolt. Is that right, buddy?", he asks the bird pokemon, which all three head reply in a course of tweets and chirps.

"What is this pokemon anyway?", Kirishima asked while trying to poke one of the heads, only to be snapped at!

Izuku's eyes immediately glittered at the question and stated excitedly, "This is Dodrio, the Triple Bird pokemon. Dex #85, a Flying type and the evolved form of Dodou. Heads aren't the only thing this pokemon has three of.", at the last and vague statement, everyone stared at the green teen with wide mouths and pale faces, while Gar looked ready to fall over trying to hold his laughter back. But the teen quickly continued saying, "It also has three sets of hearts and lungs, so it can run at fast speeds for long distances without rest."

Dodrio was a large, wingless, three-headed avian Pokémon. Each head has a long, sharp beak and a black V-shaped, feather crest. It has bristly brown feathers covering its heads and upper body, while its lower half has a smooth layer of black feathers. Its tail consists of three pale red feathers with lighter tips. Its wingless body rests on two long and slender, but powerful legs with feet that have three clawed toes in front and one in back. Each head has its own working brain and distinct personality. Each head represents and expresses either sorrow, anger, or joy.

"Dang It Midoriya! You almost had me in the first half.", Kirishima exclaimed as his face turned red as his hair!

Izuku only laughed at this while Iida scolded him for saying such things in such a manner, and being so unheroic.

"I think Deku-kun is taking after you and Rotom, Gar-kun.", Uraraka side mouth to the teen in a sweat drop.

Gar sniffed back and said with starry watering eyes, "I'm so proud of him!"

"So where were you before Gar? We haven't seen you…..all day?", Izuku asked the older teen.

Gar rubs the back of his head awkwardly and says, "Hehehe, sorry about that. I was getting last minute preparations set up and putting myself together as well. A face this perfect just doesn't happen by accident.", he accentuated while striking a flamboyant pose.

"No but it already was an accident?", Bakugou snarked him., making Gar lose his proud expression.

"So what's up with the fancy new digs?", Kirishima asked while looking over and feeling his outfit.

Right now Gar was wearing his hero outfit when he went to the USJ. Only this time it was a different color, a light shade or purple mixed with pink hues, almost giving it a very psychic like color and feel to it. It was almost mesmerizing to look at. Even his hoodie was different, which was vaguely designed like another pokemon. While his previous one looked like a Gengar, this one looks like something else entirely. It had shades of pale cream and purple, big purple eyes patterns on the hood, and two horn ear-like partitions on the top of said hood. The location of the pokeball design wasn't on the middle of the chest, but instead placed on the left breast. Even the multiple pouched belt had different psychic types on it.

"And why are you wearing your hood? It's almost 80 degrees.", Izuku asked while trying to peer into Gar's hood.

Gar pushed Izuku back, as if hiding something, and said mysteriously, "Oh lets just say it's a surprise, for now."

Just then a very snide and condescending tone pierced through the crowds and directed towards 1-A and Gar, saying, "Well well well. If it isn't 1-A showing their incompense yet again. How disappointing. And here I thought you all were the talk of Japan. Looks like it was just that. All talk."

From the now diverging crowd, came forth a whole gaggle of students with UA gym uniforms like 1-A. They were all significantly different from one another, just like class 1-A, but one boy in the front appeared to be their leader….or atleast walking in front of all of them. He had blond hair cut into a bowl cut, blue eyes, and an expression coupled with a face that just made you wanna slap it straight off, put it back on, just so you could slap it off again.

Gar blinked at the approaching students and pointing to them while looking at Izuku, he asked, "Uh, who are these Mr Rimes?"

"Who's Mr Rime?", a girl at the front with orange hair, styled in a side ponytail, asked.

Ignoring her question, Izuku answered for Gar, "Gar, this is class 1-B. 1-B…..I'm sure I don't have to introduce you."

The blonde teen rolled his eyes in an over exaggerated manner, while exclaiming, "Of cooooousre you don't. Who hasn't heard of the great and powerful, GAR!"

Gar sweat dropped at him and said awkwardly, "I'd prefer you didn't call me that. I'm really not all that high and mighty."

The teen cut him off with a snide expression while saying boastfully, "Oho! So you admit you're beneath us? You and the rest of 1-A."

Gar brain does a skip at the statement and quickly regains his thoughts while stating firmly, "What? Okay look kid! I didn't say-!"

But the blonde teen cuts him off again and continues to vex him, exclaiming, "Of course you did! It's so pathetic to see 1-A degrade themself to such a low standard! I mean, calling for the aid of some interdimensional freak show and his mutant pets, just for attention and to keep your top spot is just unreal! I mean, I almost feel pity for your low class weakness and your constant compensation methods to look better than the superiority of 1-B! AH HAHAHAHAHA!", he laughed a complete self absorbed laugh right at him!

Gar knew not to give people like this fuel for their fire, since It would only make things worse. But this guy was one of the worst he's ever met! And Gar wasn't thinking straight since his blood was reaching boiling point in his ears!

He was nearly ready to say or do something when Dodrio did it for him. The bird Pokemon jumped into action and tackled the teen to the ground! In a mere moment, the birds three beaks began to glow, spin, and make noises similar to that of a drill. The bird then jammed all of their beaks into the teens head with painful force!

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Get it off of me! GET IT OFF!", the teen screamed in pain!

Gar quickly rushed into action and pulled all three heads off his and then pushed the bird 20 ft from his grounded body, while shouting, "Dodrio, no! Bad pokemon! BAD!", after he pushed the pokémon, still snapping it's beaks at the teen, Gar held it back with his back as he said, "I'm so sorry about that! He usually only attacks unproved when he's near someone with an ego problem…...Oooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh!", Gar trailed off.

"Oh?! Oh what?!", the teen shouted at him as he picked himself off the ground with three needle wide bleeding holes coming from his head!

Gar rolled his eyes and shot back condescendingly, "Do I have to spell it out for you? Aren't you 'better' and 'superior' to us?"

"I do NOT have an ego problem!", the blonde teen roared at him, which only caused Dodiro to squawk and snap harder in his direction!

"Well then maybe Dodrio just likes to drill into your face?", Gar offers vexingly.

The teen ground his teeth and curled his hands into fists as he pointed a convicting finger, while shouting, "You'll see 1-A! You'll all see! 1-B will prove once and for all that we were and alway have been better than your feeble and flimsy class! We'll take this opportunity to beat you into the dirt and take all attention from you! Then 1-B will be the stars and we'll show everyone just how weak you are! AH HAHAHAHA!"

"You know….you're right.", Gar said back with a surprisingly calm tone, causing the teen to forget his anger for a moment. "We are so incredibly weak and pathetic! I can't believe we've gotten this far. It's a miracle on its own.", Gar emphasizes like a big drama queen. Making the blonde teens ego flare up as he puffed his chest and looked like he was gonna add more salt onto it , when Gar suddenly followed up, "In fact, I'm so weak and uncoordinated, that can barely hold back Dodrio and myself."

Gar then made a big show of 'accidentally' losing his hold over the pokémon and saying loudly, "OOPS!"

The moment Gar fell to the ground, all three heads of Dodiro looked at the blonde teen dead in the eyes! With its own gaining a very sadistic twinkle to them!

"Uh-oh.", the teen squeaked out as he realized what happened.

"Run.", said the orange haired girl.

The blond teen immediately turned tail and ran for the hills with Dodrio hot on his feet! Snapping it's three beaks at his butt one after the other! The teen would jump and help like a dog with every attempted snap!

"NOOOOOOO! DON'T DRILL MY HEAD! DON'T DRILL MY HEAD!", he screamed like a girl as he ran all around the stadium and weaved in between crowds!

"Gar!", Iida shouted at the teen giving a dry smile at the scene.

"What? He was literally asking for it.", he argued back.

"That doesn't mean you do it!", Iida persisted!

"Honestly, I agree with him.", the orange haired girl said out of the blue, garnering the teens attention. "Sorry about Monoma, he's the kind of person who only learns the hard way, and doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. I'd be lying if I didn't say I fear for his future.", she apologized with a bow while they watched Monoma climb a tree to escape the pokémon, but underestimate it's jumping!

"See!", Gar tried to restate his point.

"Gar.", Iida said in a dangerous tone.

The orange haired girl immediately broke off the tension as she said, "Hey look, we obviously got off on the wrong foot, so let's start over? I'm 1-B's class representative, Itska Kendo. It's a pleasure to finally meet you Mr Gar.", she exceeded her hand.

Gar took her hand happily and said with an extremely sunny demeanor, "The pleasure is all mine! I was actually jonesing to meet you all, but things got crazy so fast and I lost track of….lots of things. But anyway, please, just call me Gar. I see that you're the less irritable one of your group."

"The rest of my class really isn't that bad. Just Monoma.", Ken told him while looking back to her class with a smile.

"Every barrel always has a few bad apples. My class is certainly no exception.", Gar agreed with a shrug before looking back at Bakugou, who distanced himself from the rest.

"You know I gotta say Itska.", Gar said to the girl, catching her off guard with her first name. "You look awfully similar to someone I know in my world."

"Really? Who?", Kendo inquires.

"Her name is Misty, and she's a gym leader of the Water type in Cerulean city. She has the same orange hair and style you have. But I gotta say, you wear it better.", He put on his charm.

"Kendo blushed and said back flustered, "Oh! You don't mean that."

"Uh Gar?", Izuku called for his attention. Gar looked at the teen, and the teen pointed to where Monoma was being pursued up the tree by Dodrio. "Don't you think it's…", he trailed off before he was cut off.

"Maybe just a few more seconds.", Gar said with a malicious tone and sinister smile.

"Gar!", Iida scolded him!

"I'm kidding. I'm kidding! Look at you.", Gar laughed while pinching the tall teens cheek. "I think he's finally learned his lesson."

Gar then placed two fingers in his mouth and sounded off a loud whistle! Dodrio stopped it's pursuit, apart from the angry head that was put back in line by the sad head, climbed down the tree and ran back to Gar.

"Good boy, Dodrio.", Gar showered the three heads with affection when they came back. "See, totally in control.", He said in a snarky voice while looking to Bakugou, who gave him the bird.

Gar gave a dry chuckle at this and stated while climbing back onto Dodrio, "Well I'd love to stay and chat, but I gotta fly. I have my own prior arrangements that need my presence, but I'll see you guys in the sports festival.", Just before he started the pokémon off, he turned to the teens and told them, "Oh and you better go get yourselves ready, the festival begins in about 20 minutes. And good luck."

"See ya Gar.", Kirishima waved him off.

"Bye.", Izuku waved off in a simple reply.

"Hope we can see each other again.", Kendo waved.

"I wish you and everyone else good luck in the festival!", A girl from 1-B with green vines for hair said to everyone with a bright smile.

Once Gar left he spoke under his breath in a sinister yet excited tone, "Yeah….your really gonna need it."
