Pokémon Trainer Hero

Chapter 31: The Sports Festival part. 3-Discovery

Gar hopped off the back of Latios as Latias circled around him anxiously, sensing the older teens rising nerves. Something was putting him on edge and the Pokemon was becoming distressed from it. Latios was far more composed but still showed it's worry towards his master.

Seeing how the two Pokemon were reacting to him, Gar petted both of their heads and reassured them saying, "It's alright you two, I just got a little something on my mind, that's all. Just gotta check up on something and make sure everything is fine."

The two Pokemon cooed nervously at this and nuzzled their heads into the teen. He stroked both of their heads until they calmed down somewhat and then returned them back to their pokeballs.

Once the two of them were out of the way, gar rushed over to the rendezvous point where a few of the other teachers were waiting. Cementos, Ectoplasma, and Vlad King we're standing around at an empty vendor's booth at the closest point of the stadium. All of them didn't look too pleased for Gar's tardiness.

"Your late.", Was the first thing to come out of Vlad King's mouth.

Gar took a moment to catch his breath before apologizing, "Sorry, sorry! Latios and Latios can get pretty anxious if they feel something's wrong with me."

Vlad King shook his head and told him firmly, "That's not an excuse. You know what could potentially be at stake here."

Gar stood and and taking another breath he shot back, "It's either an attack that could take several minutes to put into effect, or two agitated Pokemon that can break the sound barrier within seconds of flight at ground level."

Vlad King narrowed his eyes and was about to fight back when Cementos butted in and stated, "Let's not argue about this now."

Ectoplasma nods his head as Sableye crawls around his full body cape, "He's right. We have to find out why one your Pokemon suddenly created that rain storm."

"Let me take a quick look and see who among my current Pokemon knows Rain Dance.", Gar says as he pulls out his phone and brings up a list of All the Pokemon he had currently with him in this universe. After a few minutes of searching you finally came up with a result and said, "Here we go.", Gar held up the phone screen to the three men I needed crowded around to see the picture. "Politoed is the only Pokemon that knows Rain Dance in my collection. Which is actually quite surprising all things considered.", He states while turning the phone away.

"Where is Politoed?", Cementos asks.

Gar punches in a few buttons on the phone screen and a few moments later he replies, "At the Southwest fountain."

The three heroes nod and all of them rush off in that direction. Once at the fountain they look around for any sign of the Pokemon. But all they see is a couple of vendor boots, some entertainment Pokemon, some security Pokemon, and a couple of civilians idly milling around and watching the jumbo screens on the outside of the stadium.

"Where's the pokémon?", Vlad King asks while surveying the area.

"And what is that?!", Ectoplasma suddenly shouts in fright!

All of the heroes turned their head to where the man was pointing and inside one of the fountains was what looked like a very large, angry looking, dark blue fish made up of a hundred smaller fish.

Gar breathed a sigh of relief and explained, "That's Wishiwashi, but in it's School."

"School-form?", Ectoplasma asks.

"It's basically when-.", Gar began to explain until Vlad King interjects.

"Forget about that! We have something else that needs our attention!", He reminds them in a raised tone.

"Oh right, Politoed!", Gar exclaimed while snapping his fingers.

The four men looked around the area for the pokémon, until Cementos realized something and asked, "What exactly does this pokémon look like?"

"Child-sized, chubby, light green with pale colors, big blue eyes, amphibious appearance, swirly curl on its head and belly.", Gar listed off quickly.

"Likes to clap with a big smile?", Vlad King asks.

"Yeah that's exactly it…...Wait! How did you know that?", Gar shot his head towards him suspiciously.

Vlad King points to the same fountain where Wishiwashi was, and points to the opposite side of it, where a child-sized pokémon was hopping in and out of view.

Gar immediately ran up to the pokémon and shouted, "Politoed! Is everything okay?"

The Pokémon simply hopped up to Gar and began jumping at his feet while clapping it's hand with a big goofy smile. Gar sighed, knowing that he wasn't going to get a straight answer from the pokémon.

"Is smiling and clapping a good sign or a bad sign?", Ectoplasma asked.

Gar looks at the scene around him and quickly What's the pieces of the puzzle together. He looks to the three heroes and explains, "It's fine you guys. I think something must have spooked Wishiwashi causing it to change into its School-form and then Politoed here got excited and used Rain Dance."

The three heroes gave a sigh of relief in unison, and just at that moment The earbud intercoms on all four heroes started to beep. The heroes pressed the buttons and All Mights loud voice rang through their ears.

"This is Alpha Rivalry Nidoking to Beta Wimp out Wimpod. Come in Beta, over.", All Might called.

Gar took the call and replied, "Beat here, over."

"Which Beta, over."

"Come on All Might. Don't make me say it!", Gar begged him in a dismayed tone.

"You have to. It's what we agreed on, over.", All Might's voice sang through the earpiece, clearly enjoying this.

"I maybe the Pokemon guy here, but even I think these code names are stupid, over.", Gar complained back. But no reply came from All Might. Gar slapped his head and groaned out, "UGH! FINE! This is…...ugh, Beta Wimp out Wimpod...over."

"What's the status of the sudden rain storm, over.", All Might asked.

Just then, Politoed jumped into Gar's arms and hugged the teen while nuzzling his chest. Gar reacted fast and grabbed the pokemon and patted its head. Gar spoke into the earpiece again and explained, "False alarm Alpha, false alarm. Politoed just got too excited, over."

A loud sigh came over the earpiece and All Might told them, "Thank goodness for that. But keep your guard up Beat. Alpha signing off, over and out."

All Might's booming voice died out and the earpiece went silent in waiting for another call.

"You sure are a little trouble maker, aren't you?", Gar said to Politoed while booping its nose, making the Pokemon smile wide and clap its hands. "But don't use Rain Dance just cause you're happy. We're in a serious time right now, and I need you to be focused. Can you promise me that?", Gar told the Pokemon firmly, who replied with happy ribbits and a salute. "Good to hear."

Gar then let the Pokemon down and watched as it hopped away to a new place to bounce and play.

"Thank goodness it wasn't Bayo.", Cementos said with a sigh of relief.

"I wouldn't have thought it was him anyway. Bayo would've attacked when everything was in full swing or pop in at the most inoperative time, not at the beginning.", Gar explained.

Vlad King puts a hand to his chin and says in thought, "Then I guess we'll have to keep an extra eye out for when the third event takes place. That's when everyone will be fully engaged."

The other two heroes agree with silent nods.

"Agreed.", Gar says vocally. Suddenly, his face shifts to pure stress and anxiety as he exclaims in panic, "Oh Magikarp! I nearly forgot! I'm heading the second event personally!", Gar then threw a pokeball out and Rapidash appeared before the heroes and teen. Gar climbs on the pokemons back and calls to the heroes while riding off, "I gotta go guy! Keep up the good work!"

The three heroes wave back and set back off on their normal patrol routes.
