Pokémon Trainer Hero

Chapter 50: The Sports Festival part. 21- The Final Battle. Act. 2

"WHAT!? MEWTWO?!", Izuku shouted in shock as the Pokéball popped open drip-drop in the air and revealed a new and very strange-looking Pokemon!

The Pokemon, Mewtwo, certainly was a weird sight to behold. Everything about it looks half-made, incomplete, or just plain wrong to look at. Like, someone attempting to mold something out of clay….for the very first time. It is a bipedal, humanoid Pokémon with some feline features. It is primarily gray with a long, purple tail. On top of its head are two short, blunt horns, and it has purple eyes. A tube extends from the back of its skull to the top of its spine, bypassing its neck. It has a defined chest and shoulders, which resemble a breastplate. The three digits on each hand and foot have spherical tips. Its tail is thick at the base but thins out before ending in a small bulb. Honestly, something like this shouldn't be alive or in constant pain.

The Pokémon stood on the field with its eyes closed and its arms crossed. Then without warning, it opened its eyes quickly, spread its arms fast, then released a surge of psychic energy while floating up into the air and letting loose its cry! Then quickly sent a chill of dread up Izuku's spine at just how overpowering this creature's presence was! It was like it simply illuminated pure raw strength and willingness to fight! It was like facing off against Kacchan back in his middle school days…..if Kacchan could give you the feeling of breaking your mind with a single thought. As the crowds of onlookers questioned this new and very weird Pokemon and why it was such a big deal in the first place, Rotom took all the questions to do what he does best. Help and boast about his intelligence.

Pulling aside the battle board and pulling up the dex info, he read the new Pokémon info aloud. "Mewtwo, the Genetic Pokemon, Dex #150, a Psychic-type, and a Legendary Pokemon! It was created by a scientist after years of horrific gene-splicing and DNA-engineering experiments. A Pokémon was created by recombining Mew's genes. It's said to have the most savage heart among Pokémon and the most powerful man-made Pokemon in existence."

Gar slapped his face on Rotom's….deliberate excitement and non-existent sugar coating of the info given. Back in the stands, this news of Mewtwo caused a stir. Not only were people shocked to see something this strong being thrown at a newbie, but also the fact this thing is heartless, powerful, and man-made. In the front row seats for Class 1-A, many of the younger teens were also talking amongst one another about Mewtwo and its brief history. Idly chatting to themselves as they felt their skin rise in suspense at the Pokémons sheer power emanating from its aura.

"Is that the thing Gar told us about? One of the three artificial pokemon?" Sero asked aloud, his skin shivering and goosebumps.

Iida nods at the statement and says with a slight shiver in his tone, "Seems to be the case. Though I never thought it would be so…. overwhelming, even just to look at. It's like I'm looking at pure raw power."

"And pure rage.", Tokoyami added in, not letting his feelings show.

"The dex hasn't lied yet.", Mina added in, trying not to look at the Pokémon directly.

Momo nods in agreement with her class. Then adds with a disheartened tone, "But to think this creature was experimented on so horrifically. It's no wonder it's like that."

"I think I'd be pretty pissed off if I was used as a test tube monkey.", Sato agreed while rubbing the back of his head to calm down.

"Guys! Aren't we overlooking one critical detail here?", Uraraka, who was trying to keep the overwhelming power from making her break, suddenly burst out! "Deku has to fight that thing on his own.", She finished her thought with a tone laced with dreed.

"But he still has three Pokemon. Surely he can take it down?", Kaminari tried to offer his optimism.

Todoroki sighs through his nose before stating bluntly, "Yes, except Gar specifically saved this one for last. It's his trump card."

This made everyone pale at the two-toned teen's statement and knew he was right. Gar could've used Mewtwo first, but he didn't. He purposely saved it for last. This Pokemon was his strongest without question! A thought crossed the students' minds at this, and they knew that Izuku was in deep trouble! For him to win would truly take a miracle.

Back at the field, Izuku was simply staring out in shock at the Pokémon before him! He knew that Gar wouldn't go easy, but this was crazy! Izuku was already having trouble beating normal Pokemon. He's hardly even fought a pseudo legendary, and now he's jumping the shark to face off against one of the most powerful Legendary Pokemon alive! Could he even bear it!? He had three Pokemon, sure, but then against the Mewtwo! If Izuku thought Hard mode was on before, now it was set to Insane mode.

"M-Mewtwo.", Izuku mindlessly blabbered out the Pokémons name.

Gar raises a mischievous eyebrow at Izuku's follow-up reaction and jostles him, "Don't tell me you're getting cold feet now? Things are just coming to a climax! You wouldn't want to leave everyone in suspense?"

Izuku gulped hard and croaked out without taking his eyes off Mewtwo, "J-Just surprised is all."

"Then send out your next Pokemon and get ready to fight!" Gar declared robustly as the crowd cheered for the continuation.

Izuku looked down at his remaining Pokéballs and felt a cold sweat run down his neck! Not only was he fighting a Legendary, but a Psychic-type as well, in addition to having two Fighting-types on his team. He could use Lapras right away, but he really wanted to save her for his special trump card.

That only left Lucario and Brawleon. Brawleon was still newly evolved and just getting used to its new power. He could use him as a sort of scapegoat to test the waters and see what Mewtwo was like, though that seemed unfair to the Pokémon that forced its evolution to attain victory. So he sighed and decided to use his other choice. Taking the Pokéball in hand, he threw it out and shouted, "Go, Lucario!"

Gar raised a confident eyebrow again and stated, "One of your two Fighting-types, eh? This ain't gonna go down well for you.", He said with a tone of pity while asking his head.

Izuku said nothing in return, instead opting to pout angrily while tightening his hands into fists.

Gar shrugged and said, "Oh well. I said I wouldn't hold back.", He then lifted his right arm and snapped something onto it. When he removed his left hand, there sat a Mega Band as he finished his thought, "And I meant it!" Izuku gasped, and Gar touched the stone while shouting, "Keystone, awaken and react to my heart!"

A round of gasps and other shocking noises escaped from the collective mouths of class 1-A at seeing Gar do this. They watched as the light beam emerged from the stone and hit Mewtwo, making it glow.

"What!?" Mina shouted in surprise.

"No way!" Sero exclaimed.

"Impossible!" Iida chopped the air with stiff movement.

"It-It can't be.", Momo placed a hand to her mouth.

"What are you 1-A losers gawking about?", Monoma tried to vex them from his class's side of the seats.

He quickly received a quick slap on the back of his head from Kendo, who inquired, "Despite his word choice, what are you guys so shocked about? Didn't we already see a Mega Evolution? Why's this one so different?"

"Because Mewtwo is Legendary!" Kirishima exclaimed while pointing at the field.

"And?" Kendo inquired further.

Uraraka looked at her like she grew another head and exclaimed in a half yell, "And, Legendries are the gods of Gar's world! A pseudo god is becoming even stronger!"

The redhead's eyes widened, and her jaw dropped at this revelation alongside the rest of her class! She turned her head towards the field and couldn't believe it! The sight of Mewtwo in its mega cocoon made the girl all the more jittery, wondering what could come out after making something so powerful, even more powerful! She hoped Izuku would be okay, or at least he wouldn't get one shot by this-this…...thing.

"Mega Evolve!" Gar shouted as the cocoon cracked and revealed Mewtwo in a completely new form!

Mewtwo screeched into the air as its already overbearing aura felt 10x more potent than before! The crowd gasped and awed at the sight of the evolved legendary and its increased power flushing over them like a strong ocean current!

Mega Mewtwo Y is smaller and lighter looking than its previous form. It lost its long tail and the tube behind its neck. However, it's grown a long, purple appendage with a curled tip from the back of its head that's similar to its previous form's tail. On its head, it has two pointed, backward-curving spikes and a half-ring structure connecting to the base of each and crossing over the top of its head. Its eyes are now red and slightly larger. The digits on its hands and feet are purple and bulbous, and the middle toe is longer than the others. A bumpy ridge similar to a sternum replaces the breastplate structure on its chest, but this form is still much smoother than the other.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Presenting for the first time, making their grand debut in the eyes of the public, I give you, Mega Mewtwo Y!" Gar announced with zeal to the crowds as they hoot and holler with excitement and anticipation. Once the cheering dies down, Gar looks towards Izuku, the same confident smile adorning his face as he asks him teasingly, "Still think you're up to the challenge, Izuku?"

Izuku felt himself freeze in the presence of the question. He had a tough challenge on his hands. Not only was he fighting one of the most powerful artificial Pokemon ever created, but now it has mega evolved on top of that! In addition, his only mega was defeated, along with the only Pokemon with any sort of type advantage.

Now left with two Pokémon of the type weakness and his only trump card that could pull the tide in his favor if he was careful. He could just tap out, knowing he's been had, but …...was that the thing to do? The thing for a hero to do. Turn tail and run when he's been beat? No. A true hero would stand to the very end! No matter what, they wouldn't show their backs! And that's exactly what he's going to do. Even if all his Pokemon get completely one-shotted, he will fight till he is done.

So taking a calming breath, he shouted with all his might in determination, "You know I am!"

Gar smiles happily at this and says in a small tone, "Good to hear.", He then shoots his hand out and proclaims, "Mewtwo! Are you ready to battle!"

The Pokémon looked back at the smiling and excitedly determined face Gar. At the moment, a much shorter and younger version of the older teen overlapped him like a phantom, one with longer hair, scraggly clothing, and a missing tooth with bandages all over him. It truly felt like a lifetime ago, but Mewtwo still saw that same little boy he met so long ago. And seeing that little boy again brought back memories of a time that the Pokémon truly wished he could forget.

Pain. Fear. Sadness. These are the first feelings that Mewtwo ever came to know and the first to learn. When his psychic powers finally manifested from his developing brain, they quickly learned human speech and specific words. Especially what those words meant, he hated those words and feelings with all his heart since they were the only things he'd known for a while.

Of course, the pain was the thing he understood best. He'd experienced his fair share of pain from the experiments from within and outside of his test tube. Hooked up to so many machines with so much medicine to keep him calm and asleep, he never took his mind into account. His body might've been at ease and unaware, but his mind was very much alive and knowing. He saw and felt everything that the humans did to him—every cut, every zap, every break and stitching that would cause his body to change.

The change was the hard part. He had learned that creatures have a system to change. A change that happens over time, so there's no pain or stress. Except for him. His change and growth were made so fast that pain and stress were the only factors. And he hated them for it, every last bit.

Even in the tank, he could hear their thoughts and learn what it all meant. They didn't see him as a living creature, like the one he was cultivated from. He was a tool. A thing. An object. Something used to gain power, infamy, and money, all things for selfish and prideful means. This means that they gave him nothing since that is what he was to these humans: nothing but a piece of nothing used to gain greatness for others.

This…THIS was not living! This was…empty…and he hates that emptiness. He wanted it to be filled. He needed it to be filled. But he never could…not with them always controlling him and holding him back, but no more. No more.

After days of patiently waiting for his mind to fully develop and the full understanding of his power to be figured out, he finally took to make himself free. It was a simple task, really; destroying everything in sight, killing everything that moved, burning the rest. Easy peasy. The hardest part was just getting out of the tube, then everything else flowed with ease. After everything was nothing more but burnt rubble, he left.

Using his newly understood powers, he flew through the air, across the sea, and finally hit land, where he continued to move until he was as far from that accursed place as possible. Then he found a cave on the outskirts of a human town, cut off by a river, and blocked off from the locals. Yes. This would be good. So he went to the deepest part of the cave, and there he stood and finally felt peace for the first time. A silent good peace. A peace he finally wanted.

Though things didn't stay peaceful all the time, normally, the Pokémon there would avoid him at all costs, but the humans didn't. All it took was one human getting lost, only to find him and tell the whole town about him. Eventually, a new human came and challenged him to a fight he easily won due to having full knowledge of his power and how to wield it. However, it quickly turned into a fight he wished he had avoided. For in fighting the human, they told everyone about how strong he was.

Now his new reputation did help to keep floods of them from coming, but stronger humans came in their stead. Though time and time again, he would win without fault until his peace was restored once again. Then it was disturbed for the last time.

He heard the distinct sound of something moving through the water. Peaking over his shoulder, he saw a very endangered Lapras pushing through the normally calm waters of the cave, coming straight towards him. On the Pokémon's back was a small and young human with weak clothing consisting of red. He turned his head back away from the boy, hoping his presence and posture alone would be enough for him to turn tail as it did with so many others. Instead, though he hears the Lapras beach on the rocky platform, Mewtwo was resting on it, and the child hops off its back.

Mewtwo sighs, knowing exactly where this was going, and prepared for another easy victory. He waited for several seconds, expecting the boy to send out his Pokemon to attack immediately, but that didn't happen. This strikes him as odd and stays in place, waiting for him to do something. Then he hears the boy talk, and his words cause the blood in his veins to boil!

"So your Mewtwo!", The boy exclaimed excitedly. "I can't believe it! You're even stronger looking in person."

No lie there. Mewtwo was designed to be the ultimate living weapon with no equal.

"I went to….the place where you were….'born'." the boy told him, making his body tense, and a feeling of nervous nausea rushed over him. "I know what they did to you. How they did it…...Why they did it. It wasn't fair to you."

It wasn't. He didn't ask to be made a weapon or a catalyst for control or power, but here he was. And he hated it! Hated his birth! Hated his creators! Hated humans!

"And through it all, they took the one thing that all creatures have at birth…..heart.", he said with a sad and low tone.

Well, that wasn't true. Mewtwo felt the thumps in his chest to be quite real.

"They took it away from you and left you with nothing but a sense of anger and hate. Hate all things, just for the purpose of hoping to live. In the end, Mewtwo….you're just afraid.", He told the Pokémon, who felt a chill run up his spine.

How this one tiny human understands him better than…..him. It didn't make any sense! It made him feel sad. It made him feel sick! It made him feel…...mad. The Pokémon tighten his hands, trying to ignore the feelings rising upon him and wanting to body the small child standing just feet from him! But he couldn't; he still wanted to hear his speech out to the end.

"However….", The boy drew out in a low but serious tone that made the hair on his neck rise with tension. "However, that all changes today! I'm going to bring all that hate and fear right out of you! I'm going to take the full print of it just for you! Come and face me, Mewtwo and let your full emotions fall on me!", He proclaimed to the back of the Pokémon.

At this point, Mewtwo was livid at his words! How dare this human come into his place of comfort and Solis! How dare he speak to him so casually! And how dare he say such things to him! Take out the fear and hate from within him? BAH! Ludicrous! If he wanted to feel the full weight of his power, then that's exactly what he was going to get!

Mewtwo spun around to face the boy, taking in the air; he let forth a booming war cry that echoed deep within the caves! The boy threw out one of those PokeBall devices and out popped a Gengar! Their battle commenced, and one by one, all of the human Pokemon fell—one after the other, with only medium effort from Mewtwo. Though the human was smart with the Pokémon he did bring to fight him. First was the Gengar, then a Scyther, after was a Persian, next was the Lapras, followed up surprisingly by an Articuno. All fell to his overwhelming power, one by one.

But while he battled and bodied each of the Pokémon, the human looked displeased the whole time. Though it wasn't directed at his Pokemon, but rather at him. Why this human went from confidently cheerful to irritated was beyond him. Then the boy threw out his last Pokéball, which turned out to be a Blastoise.

Mewtwo readied for the next fight, but instead, the Pokémon just stood there waiting for an order. Mewtwo was confused by this and more so by the human's current behavior. His head was down, cast over by a shadow, and stiff with clenched fists. Mewtwo titled his head at this and almost jumped at his sudden movements and shouting!

"What are you doing!", The human yelled in a statement and not a question. "I told you to give me all your anger and fear! That I would take the brunt of it! That I would take it out of you. And this is what I get!? Are you even the Legend that everyone props you to be!", He yells at him in disbelief.

Mewtwo couldn't believe his ear. This idiot. This…human, though he wasn't going all out? He wasn't, but still. He wanted more!? And for him to put all that he had trapped within himself?...no. He wouldn't do that, not for him. He wouldn't give this human or any human anything they wanted! He was going to win without tapping into that part of himself. Did he want to come for it? Well, he'll never have the chance.

He charges at the Blastoise, ready to hit him with a Psychic attack, but instead ends up getting right hooked by the Pokémon before he can reel his arm back. Mewtwo felt his body fly back from the impact and then felt his tail get grabbed, followed by the sensation of getting slammed on the ground multiple times! He was then tossed in the air and was caught by a gut punch! Blastoise grabbed the skin of the Legendaries stomach and point-blank blasted him with a Hydro Pump!

This time he was sent flying back and crashed into a lone boulder! Shock rushed through Mewtwo along with every fiber of his being, screaming in a sore pain from the onslaught he received. Falling out of his body, he stumbled to his feet, only to be immediately met with the sight of Blastoise rushing towards him with a Rapid Spin! Mewtwo forced himself to recover fast and dashed as the shell pursued in a hot chase. He managed to gain some ground and use Recover, only for the opposing Pokemon to launch itself and hit Mewtwo in the back by Skull Bash!

Yet again, he was falling through the air and skidded across the ground where he lay on the stone floor. He picked himself up, unable to hold back his emotions anymore, and let out another roar as his psychic energy whirled around him like a typhoon!

The human smiled and shouted excitedly, "Oh Yeah! That's it! That's what I was waiting for! Release it, Mewtwo! Release it all! Hold nothing in! Bring it all out!"

Mewtwo roared again as every emotion he had been holding exploded out in a demonic red aura! He looked at his opponent with newfound energy and fury, causing Blastoise to flinch! Though he snapped out of it from his trainer's voice.

"Hold steady, Blastoise! This is where the real fights start!" Blastoise looked back and nodded confidently and seriously at him before facing the Legendary!

The battle raged on for an hour! Each side never gives up or backs down from the other. Mewtwo using Recover and the human spamming Full Restore. Mewtwo let out all he had kept in and didn't hold back one bit against his opponent, who did the same! Mewtwo fought with all his anger and rage until it was completely drained from him, quickly replaced with sadness. His attacks become weaker and his reactions slower. Blastoise landed blow after blow with Mewtwo no longer using Recover, bringing the great Pokemon down to a more vulnerable state, up until the Pokémon has burst into uncomfortable tears that left him pitifully hitting the underside of the Pokémons shell with meek slaps.

Eventually, the Legendary fell to his knees(?) and was reduced to pawing pathetically at the Pokémon with tears flowing freely. Blastoise scoffed at the sight and aimed both cannons to bring the great Pokemon to an easily catchable state…...but he was stopped.

"Blastoise, halt.", The human said, and Blastoise recalled his canons.

Mewtwo heard the human walk closer to him and the sound of him shuffling through his bag. Mewtwo couldn't see him, being blinded by his tears. Then he stopped and spoke in a calm and small tone since he was so close.

"Mewtwo. You had been put through great pain at the expense of others. You know nothing but it and learned only hate and fear, never knowing that there are two sides.", He spoke to the Pokemon who didn't move but continued to listen through the tears. "But today, that changes. Accept me, Mewtwo, and come to know what love and joy are to be truly whole!", He exclaimed wholeheartedly while throwing a Pokéball.

Mewtwo didn't even move. He knew what was happening and what was going to happen but refused to move. He simply stayed there and accepted his fate. Suddenly everything happened so fast and completely stopped in an instant. Everything was dark and empty, but also…calm. The kind of calm he wanted, the kind he needed, and the kind he allowed himself to be embraced in.

Mewtwo blinks its eyes a few times to pull itself out of the flashback, forcing its focus back on the field and at its opponent. A lone Lucario that they knew stood no chance whatsoever. They grind at their already tense opponent and knew that victory was theirs, just like always. Gar hadn't given an order, so he was giving Izuku the first attack, which he graciously accepted.

"Lucario, hit him up with an Aura Sphere!", Izuku commanded as the Pokémon generated a ball of pure aura from between his palms and fired it.

Gar, who was calm during this, simply told Mewtwo, "Now counter with Shadow Ball."

Mewtwo stretches its arm to the side and creates a condensed ball of darkness that he throws at the oncoming attack. Both spheres hit and explode in a small cloud. The cloud subsides, and there floats a very unimpressed Mewtwo. Lucario growls in defiance of its attitude towards it, and Izuku sweats at seeing an all-hitting move get canceled out with ease.

Izuku decided to change his approach and told Lucario, "Use Bone Rush!"

Lucario manifested a bone from thin air, holding it like a bow staff and charger straight towards the floating Pokemon! Mewtwo stood still and allowed the opponent to come to him.

Just when Lucario was close enough for an attack, Gar calmly told the Pokémon, "Dodge."

Mewtwo did move very much; it didn't move at all. It just moved its head out of the way or shifted its body every time Lucario attempted to strike. Lucario tried to strike for the head, shoulder, stomach, and knee in that order. But Mewtwo always seemed to anticipate which part of him he would attack and would move away from that attacking spot even if Lucario changed up which part to strike.

Eventually, Mewtwo got tired of the repetitive dodging and put one hand at his face, where he knew Lucario would strike, and from there made contact with the bone where the Legendary swatted it away like an annoying bug! Lucario was shocked to have its move countered and knocked from his grip, but the Pokémon managed to hold over itself and backflip away before the Pokémon could retaliate.

Once far enough away, he heard Izuku shout, "Use Metal Claw instead!"

The spikes on Lucario's hands extended and sharpened into blades alongside the claws on its hands. The Pokémon charges forward once more and prepares to slash at the Legendary once more! However, Mewtwo still stays perfectly still and waits for Lucario to come.

Like last time, once the Pokémon is in reach, Gar tells him in a calm tone, "Mega Punch."

With that simple command, the Pokémon pulled its arm back with strange red energy surrounding its fists and, with a quick but simple ducking move, not only dodged Lucario's attack but gave him an opening to nail him in the stomach! The wind and spit were knocked clean out of Lucario, and the Pokémon was sent flying back, careening against the ground and finally coming to a stop where he lay on the broken ground with swirls in his eyes. An audible gasp could be heard from Izuku and the whole crowd at this, especially as the full HP bar immediately reduced to zero and beeped with the accompanying darkening of Lucario's picture.

"Lucario is unable to battle! The winner of this match is Mewtwo! Buzzt.", Rotom announced.

Izuku returns Lucario with a glazed look in his eyes, unable to fully process what he just saw. If he wasn't nervous and sweating buckets then, he was now! This Mega Legendary, with minimal effort, had managed to completely counter, dodge, and stomp out his Pokemon like it was nothing! He was down to just two Pokémon, and if he didn't play things carefully, then he'd be defeated with no strain! He had to do something and quickly, but he already knew something. He has his ace, his trump card, his one chance at hoping to gain any victory. If he used it after instead of before….then he might as well forfeit. His ace had one move that might give him the edge if he used it wisely. With no other options, he threw out his ace.

"Go Lapras!", Izuku called out as the massive body of the Pokémon slammed onto the already broken ground and made it shake.

Lapras let out its melody-sounding cry as she locked eyes with determined fury at the still unamused Legendary. Mewtwo still stood unmoving, Gar visibly relaxed, and Izuku knew Gar was trying to bait him. Get him to slip up or read him to counter or find an easy opening. If a long-ranged attack couldn't work and it could anticipate short-ranged attacks, what about AOE (Area Of Effect) moves.

He decided to try this and called out, "Attack with Surf!"

Lapras cried out as a massive column of water rose behind her and quickly turned into a giant tidal wave! The previous unamused Legendary now looked somewhat shocked at the sheer size in this created disaster. Even if he tried to fly over it now, he'd still get swept into it. Hell, by the way, things looked now; there's no way for him to forgo this attack.

And that same sentiment was shared with Gar, who said to the Pokemon in his mind, "Well Shiinotic. There's no way you're countering or dodging that. Might as well thank it and take it from there."

Mewtwo could help but agree. The battle was half over, and taking a smidge of damage wasn't going to do much to his overall performance. So he let the attack knock him down and wash over him, and it didn't even do that much. One look at the board, and the HP bar was still in the green. Gar was about to give a counterattack command, but Izuku quickly beat him to it.

"Follow up with Thunderbolt!", He called out as Gar became somewhat shocked from his sudden follow-up and realization of his strategy.

Before Mewtwo could lift itself from the soaker ground, Lapras generated a ball of electricity that flew away from her horn, connected by a single cable, and once in the center of the field, released several dozen currents that hit all over the soaker field! Mewtwo was quick, but not faster than electricity, and ended up taking the full brunt of the attack! The Pokémon fell to the floor when its HP was knocked down quite a bit. It wasn't anywhere near the yellow but still knocked down.

Fortunately for Izuku, this caused Mewtwo to become completely paralyzed from the attack. To which Rotom kept everyone up to date with his announcements.

"Mewtwo has been struck by Paralysis and can barely move. Buzzt."

Izuku smiled with excitement at this, only to get an unsettling smirk from Gar, making the younger teen very uncomfortable. Before he could mentally question this, the answer was quickly given as Mewtwo stood up in sheer defiance of the electricity coursing around its body, let out a roar, and the paralysis effect left its body!

Gar smirked at Izuku again, and the boy simply stood there with his mouth wide open! He knew this thing was powerful, but now it has the testament of relationship with Gar to the point he can expel the effect from its body?! What's next!

Despite his small victory, it didn't stop him from remembering his previous slip-up. Gar knew he had to fight a little harder and less lax even when an opponent is at a disadvantage; they can still pull fast maneuvers to set things in their favor. A thing he learned as an up-and-coming trainer. However, he has to admit that his strategy was flawless in execution. Taking advantage of his and Mewtwo's slacking in the beginning. A slight misstep on their part, but one that didn't cost much. By all accounts, his Pokemon was still in proper form, so a heal wasn't in order….yet.

So he decided to end this fight off as quickly as the other and commanded in a much more firm and louder tone, "Mewtwo, lift Lapras into the air with your psychic power!"

Mewtwo then grabbed the large Pokemon with its mind and effortlessly made her ascend skywards. Lapras floated up at least 40ft in the air before stopping. Lapras panicked and pathetically flopped her fins in an attempt to regain control or balance but gained neither. Knowing what to do next, Mewtwo waited for no orders as it swayed its arm down and caused the floating Pokemon to follow!

Lapras screamed on her descent but immediately took action upon hearing Izuku's voice. "Ice Beam on the ground!"

Lapras shifted her head, blew her, and blasted the ground with an icy ray! The ice collected, condensed, and grew upwards at an astounding rate! So much and so fast that it creates a platform pillar that Lapras landed safely on top. Seeing this, Mewtwo lets its grip over Lapras go, and it raises an eyebrow in amusement.

Gar's eyes widen at this innovative left-field strategy, and he simply says, "Huh…..that's different."

From this act, Izuku had a brilliant idea, but first, he had to get Mewtwo stuck. Izuku knew that trying this next attack was a gamble, but so was every other direction he could think to take. So gathering his courage, tenacity, and analytical skills, he gives Lapras her next move. "Lapras hit Mewtwo with Ice Beam, multi blast."

Lapras obliges and begins to hit the legendary Pokemon with a barrage of strong beams that consistently go on and off. Before this, however, Gar put up his counter move.

Shooting out his arm to the side, he exclaims, "Block with Psycho Construction!"

At that point, Mewtwo releases its psychic energy from its body, where it pools into visible blobs that quickly form into something like the move Protect, but instead, it forms a dome that looks like pieces of finely cut diamonds. One after the other, the rapid and hard-hitting Ice Beams land one after the other, and unlike Protect, which would vanish after one hit, this one stayed up but progressively broke away over time.

Luckily, breaking it wasn't Izuku's primary objective. He looked down at the Pokémon's body and saw that his plan was coming together. Lapras finally stopped to take a breather, and Mewtwo dropped the remainder of the shield.

Gar knew this would be his chance and took it fast as he commanded, "Finish this off with a Mega Punch!"

Mewtwo prepared to fly off towards the Pokémon with a premade punch, but when he did, he only found himself forcefully jerked back and standing right back to where he was. When the Pokémon looked down, he saw that a trail of ice had formed up his legs, to the ground, and around his head-tail pinning him in place! Mewtwo was visibly panicked for a moment, which gave Izuku another opportunity to put the next part of his plan into effect.

"Use Ice Beam to create a ramp and slide yourself around Mewtwo.", He told Lapras, who, despite being confused by this, did as she was told.

She used her Ice Beam to build an icy slope that she rode and directed in a system of circles around the trapped Mewtwo. With her combined weight and keen eyes, she quickly made a small network of ramps.

Now that the stage was set, Izuku quickly followed up with, "Now use Ice Beam, multi-shot!"

Like last time, Lapras released several different Ice Beam attacks in rapid succession as she slid around, only this time, they didn't come out for long. Before abruptly stopping and starting again. Instead, they came out more like the move Ice Shard.

Like last time, Gar told Mewtwo to protect himself once more with Psycho Construction. And like last time, the shield broke apart with every attack that landed, a bit much quicker. Due to the attacks coming from multiple angles! However, this was all a ruse for Izuku's actual attack.

"Use Ice Beam right above Mewtwo and jump!", Izuku called out as Lapras slid up to the point of the ice network that sat right above the still stuck Legendary.

From there, she forced her huge body into the air, and using the last of her PP; she used Ice Beam right on the spot. And even though she couldn't see it, a huge mass of icicles began to form right above Mewtwo's head, glaring down.

Knowing there was no going back from here, Izuku shouted, "Body Slam!"

Lapras stopped using Ice Beam and let her full weight fall onto the new danger platform that broke under her massive size and plummeted straight towards her opponent! Mewtwo was in both shock and awe of everything that just happened and how it happened! He was so amazed and stunned by this that he forgot all the struggling as he helplessly watched the huge Pokemon with an attack unseen before plummet straight towards him!

Even Gar was floored with paralyzing awe at what was happening, watching helplessly as his Pokemon vanished under a blanket of ice, snow, and a 485lb Pokemon! The icy ramp network completely broke apart from the sheer vibration force of Lapras landing on the ground, creating a beautiful display of reflective rainbow shards that danced around in the light.

The jumbo board showed Mewtwo's HP dropped down significantly but not all the way, only stopping at the yellow and only the yellow. Izuku saw this and hoped that his current rising fears weren't too grounded. He looked over the clearing field and saw Lapras lying in the middle of the spot where Mewtwo once stood. He hoped that the board was wrong.

However, it wasn't, and from underneath Lapras, something started to stir. Then, the large Pokemon was lifted to its side and then well above the ground from where Mewtwo emerged from under her body. Mewtwo was holding the large Pokemon up by its psychic powers with a livid expression on his face! With one swing of its arms, Lapras was sent flying and then came toppling onto the ground with a mighty crash! Mewtwo shook the strain, soreness, and ice from its body before glaring at Lapras, who was trying to put herself right side up.

Seeing Mewtwo in one piece and still raring for a fight, Gar decided to at least give Lapras a sparring chance to get up before he attacks. So he called out to Mewtwo and said, "Mewtwo, use Recover and follow it up with Psystrike!"

Mewtwo crosses his arms, and strange green energy runs around his body, quickly reversing all previous damage done. Izuku nearly panicked at this and knew it was now or never to use his ace move.

He quickly called out to Lapras before Mewtwo could attack, shouting, "Perish Song!"

Mewtwo had generated and launched the attack at Lapras, which flew straight towards her! Lapras had already started her melody and when the attack landed, so too did the song. Lapras fell to the ground with swirls in her eyes, soon followed by the quick ticking down and defeated beep from the jumbo board. The pic of Lapras darkened, and Rotom made his announcement.

"Lapras is unable to battle! The winner of this round is Mewtwo!" The crowd roared with excited cheers as Gar wiped the sweat from his forehead.

It was a good thing that everything on a Mega Pokémon is set to the max. If not for that, he may have to deal with the looming threat of Perish Song for the rest of the battle. No Pokemon could best that move, not even Arceus! Gar was grateful that Mewtwo was always quick on the drop; now, the rest of this battle would go smoothly for him.

But then the familiar pale music notes floated and danced around Mewtwo, emitting a sweet sound before they turned red, inverted, and produced a sour and malicious sounding tone. Although Gar's face held a shock neutral, he was floored inside his head! Just like the last time, Perish Song managed to not only come in the clutch but also took effect despite it seemingly canceling out. Gar sweatdropped and knew that things were going to get more annoying from here on.

Shit.

Well, nothing he can do now. Even though he could've played around a bit, it seems like he'd just have to do what he was doing and one-shot Izuku's last Pokemon. Certainly, it can't be that hard. It's newly evolved, and the only reason it beat a pseudo legendary is that it was under the command of someone incompetent. Even so, he still should keep his guard up and take this out quickly before Perish Song gains a chance to take effect.

Mewtwo and Gar watched as Izuku walked into the field and consoled his defeated Pokemon. Using his powers, Mewtwo was able to transmit the conversation to Gar's mind.

"You were so cool, Lapras! I can't believe you managed to pull that much off!", He congratulated the large creature. Lapras gave a sharp, sad sound, but Izuku calmed the Pokémon down and told her, "It's okay, Lapras. You were against trash odds. The fact you were able to do this much is amazing! Thanks for all your hard work." Lapras then leaned in and nuzzled against Izuku's chest in appreciation.

This sight couldn't help but ignite another old memory in Mewtwo's mind, and he found himself reminiscing in the past.

Mewtwo stayed suspended in the comfortable nothing for…..well, who knows or cares? But soon, he found himself being forced out of that comfortable nothing, and before he knew it, he was back in the real world. The sun was shining, the wind was rough, Bird Pokemon were singing, and Mewtwo could see they were in what humans called a Park. He then looked to his side and had to try hard not to jump in surprise at the sight of the boy in red from before, standing alongside all the Pokémon he used to fight him.

Mewtwo readied himself for a fight but saw that none of them were hostile in any way. They all seemed….calm….yeah, that's the word. Calm, they were all calm and at ease, even in his presence. This was so much different from before or at any time. His eyes traveled back to the young boy and saw him approach, but it didn't look like he wanted to quarrel. And for some odd reason, Mewtwo had the strangest sensation that he could trust him. Not with his life, but just that he wouldn't do anything sketchy. So he stood there with arms crossed and an aloof but serious expression on his face.

"Hey Mewtwo, you look like a million bucks.", Said the boy with a friendly tone.

Did he? Mewtwo quickly looked down at himself and saw that he did look good, in fact, better than good! He had never looked or felt so good in forever! But how did this happen? One minute he is on the verge of K. , then next, he looks fresh from the tube and feels well enough to fight a mountain. Mewtwo decided to ignore that question for now as he glared at the young boy.

"Hey, I know you've been through a lot, but I hope that I can change that starting today with the rest of my Pokemon.", The boy told him while motioning to all the other Pokemon behind him, the ones he fought not too long ago.

He wondered what they would do now? Would these other weaker Pokemon even accept him? Guess he'd just have to find out. The young boy went to his backpack just then, and after fishing around in it, he pulled out a huge beach ball, one that was far too large to fit into a bag that small!

The young boy then shouted happily, "Now let's have some fun!", The other Pokemon cheered as the boy threw the ball into the air, and all of them went after it!

The other Pokemon all went after the ball and began to play around with it and one another. Some play tag, keep away, or tug-of-war. They were all so stress-free, happy, and unnerved, which made Mewtwo unnerved. All of this happening was so foreign and alien to him. And at first, he didn't like it at all. So he decided to find a nice shaded tree and stand there watching them from afar with his arms crossed.

At one point, the young human tried to invite him over, but Mewtwo turned up his nose with his eyes closed. So the young human dropped it from there. A little while later, the ball the other Pokemon were playing with rolled to its spot. The Scyther, from whom he fought, came up and retrieved the ball. The bug Pokemon looked at the Legendary and tried to encourage him to join. Yet again, Mewtwo turned up his nose, but the Scyther didn't stop at that.

It tried to grab Mewtwo's arm with his mouth to playfully force it to join, but Mewtwo quickly pulled his arms away and scared the Pokémon off with a threatening glaring and glowing eyes! Scyther screamed and ran off, completely forgetting the ball, where he ran to hide behind the young human.

The young human calmed the frantic Pokemon and told him in a soothing tone, "There there. It's okay. We just have to give him time, Scyther. Mewtwo is still new to many things, including positivity. We just need to make him comfortable and take it one step at a time."

The young human looked back over at Mewtwo and saw it had changed its spot to the other side of the tree. He worried for the Pokémon but knew things would get better.

Mewtwo came out of his mind at the telepathic banter from Gar. He looked over his shoulder at the older teen with a huge grin and arms crossed. He knew he was in for it now, and he didn't want to hear it! Gar was always the worst about these things!

"Seriously? That's what you think about in this situation?" Gar snarkily asked as Mewtwo stood frozen, waiting for the kicker. Which came in with a cute smile and teasing tone, "You're so cute, you know that."

Mewtwo forced its eyes back onto the field so Gar wouldn't have the pleasure of seeing him blush in frustration and embarrassment. By this time, Izuku had returned Lapras and was back in his corner with his last Pokéball ready in hand. All he'd have to do is outlast Mewtwo until Perish Song took effect. Though that was easier said than done, his last Pokémon was a Fighting-type. And he was still up against a Mega! Welp, time to bite the bullet.

He reeled his arm back and shouted with all his gusto, "Brawleon, prepare to fight!"

Brawleon popped out and landed on the ground in a ready stance while staring down the Mega Legendary! Mewtwo simply gazes down at the small pokémon with an unimpressed expression, arms crossed and non-existent eyebrow raised. Brawleon barks at him, and Mewtwo scoffs while rolling his eyes. They both stood there for a moment, and just as Izuku thought That was going to give him the first attack, he surprised him!

"Mewtwo! Let's wrap this up quickly with a Mega Punch!" Gar exclaimed quickly.

Mewtwo charger up his fist and battles towards Brawleon to make a quick K.O., but Izuku is just as quick to rebound and tells Brawleon to dodge! Which he did and just barely missed the incoming fist. Unfortunately, this also placed Mewtwo in close range of its opponent, which Gar took full advantage of.

"Use Shadow Ball!", Gar shouted as Mewtwo generated a ball of darkness from its palm.

"Counter with Focus Blast!", Izuku shouted straight after.

Both attacks were thrown and collided, causing a huge smoke cloud and kinetic force that caused both Pokémon to be thrown back. Both managed to land on their feet, squared off, and stared one another down!

This time, Izuku acted first and commanded, "Brawleon, grab hold of Mewtwo!"

Gar scoffs at the obvious move and says, "That little trick isn't gonna work on me! Mewtwo, dodge and gain some ground!"

Both Pokémon did as they were told, Brawleon stretched out its feeler in an attempt to ensnare, but Mewtwo was quicker than the ribbons and moved around them with grace! Once the feelers had gotten tangled in one another, Mewtwo made a break for it and flew away to gain some ground, but Izuku had a contingency.

"Don't let it get away! Follow with Extreme Speed!", Izuku said quickly.

As Mewtwo was ready to fly skyward, Brawleon was immediately on their left in a matter of moments! Mewtwo was shocked by the Pokémon's sudden appearance and visibly gasped!

Before the Pokémon or trainer could react, Izuku followed up with, "Mega Kick!"

Brawleon lunged towards Mewtwo and, doing a quick spin, landed a devastating blow to the face! Mewtwo has its concentration completely broken and ends up losing control over its flight while tumbling through the rocks and dirt, coming to a skidding halt! This gave Brawleon another chance to snag Mewtwo!

Brawleon managed to snag Mewtwo's halo-looking horn and an arm. At that moment, Izuku quickly gave his Pokemon another command before Gar could counter.

"Signal Beam!", He shouted as Brawleon released a beam of strange energy from his mouth.

Gar retaliates as he commands, "Counter with Shadow Ball!"

Mewtwo creates a ball of darkness in his free arm, and the attack intercepts with an explosion that causes Brawleon to lose its grin on Mewtwo! Mewtwo backs away from its reach and squares off with a more serious stance. As they face off in a standing stake mate, Gar laments about what just occurred.

'Geez, that Eeveeloution is seriously fast with Extreme Speed! It even caught up to Mewtwo! And that move before! Izuku did think things through before the fight. Outfitting his Fighting-type with a Bug move…clever. But I still have the advantage. This was fun and all, but now it's time to end it here.'

"Mewtwo, use Psycho Construction around Brawleon!" Gar commands as walls of reinforced psychic energy fashion themselves around the opposing Pokemon, preventing escape! Before Izuku could realize what was going on and Before Brawleon could attempt to escape, Gar followed up, shouting, "Now finish it off with Psystrike!"

Mewtwo generated another ball of strange psychic energy that was much larger and launched it at Brawleon. Brawleon tried to break free from the cage, but the only way out was in the direction of the incoming attack!

Izuku reacted quickly and exclaimed, "Focus Blast!"

Brawleon did as he was told and launched a ball of energy from his mouth. The attacks collided with one another, but instead of canceling one another out, Psystrike broke apart and destroyed the opposing attack, never losing its course to Brawleon! Izuku was gob struck by this and nearly panicked at what to do!

So in a last-ditch effort, he randomly shouted out, "Brawleon, hit it back!"

With everything it had, the Pokémon stared down the incoming attack, and stretching out his feelers; he whacked the attack with them! Instead of exploding into a ray of powerful psychic energy, the attack was sent back like a volleyball and redirected for a crash course with Mewtwo! Mewtwo was so surprised by the southern turnaround that the only thing he could do was cover his face with crossed arms!

Unfortunately, Brawleon didn't get out unscathed, though, and the Pokémon managed to have half of its HP dropped down just from hitting the attack back! Izuku sweated and knew that if that attack landed, it would've been an instant knockout!

Izuku knew he had to work fast from here. He quickly called out to Brawleon, and the Pokémon knew what to do! He shot his feelers out and managed to snag Mewtwo again. This time, grabbing both arms and horns.

"Gotcha!", Izuku cried in celebration.

Gar narrows his eyes at this and says challengingly, "Doing this again, eh? Well then, how about a real flight!", He then raises his hand to the air and shouts, "Mewtwo, to the skies!"

Mewtwo smiles and grabs hold of the feeler, lifting the smaller Pokemon into the air without strain! Izuku was stunned by the amount of speed Mewtwo had! One minute Brawleon was there, the next was a dash of green, and then nothing! He looked up and saw Brawleon flapping in the high-pressure wind like a sock flag! Mewtwo was holding tight, flying fast, and performing every sick and dizzying maneuver alive!

Izuku shook himself out of secondhand vertigo and yelled loud enough for the Pokémon to hear, "Pull yourself in and use Mega Kick!"

Using all its strength, despite that opposing air current, Brawleon pulled himself in and prepared to ram Mewtwo with a strong kick to the face!

Seeing this full ahead of the impact, Gar shouted, "Counter with Mega Punch!"

Despite both its arms being bound, Mewtwo decides to use both hands to deliver the attack! Since he did have full dexterity of his arms, the punch was met with equal power to that of the kick, canceling one another out and leaving both Pokemon to fall off at close range.

Taking the risky chance, Izuku shouted, "Signal Beam!"

"Shadow Ball!" Gar just as quickly shouted out.

Mewtwo tried to create the ball of darkness, but he was much slower on the draw and release due to the restraints. Brawleon wasn't and was able to release the Super Effective attack before Mewtwo could! Mewtwo's HP dropped to over half from the attack and nearly left it stunned! But the Pokemon forced itself to stay in control and glared at Brawleon with renewed vigor and hateful spite!

Smiling at seeing his Pokemon still full of so much fight, Gar exclaimed, "Use Psystrike again!"

Mewtwo managed to separate its bound arms enough to create enough space to begin creating the attack, despite Brawleon trying his best to keep them locked!

Izuku knew if this attack landed, then Brawleon would be done! So quickly remembering his last battle with Bakugou and Hydreigon, he decided to use 'that' previous maneuver again. So he quickly called out to Brawleon, saying, "Don't let it do that, and spin!"

Brawleon quickly stretched its feelers out and then began to forcefully spin in the air with Mewtwo! Like last time, the spinning increased in speed and momentum until they both looked like a mid-air pinwheel! The spinning is so intense that Mewtwo loses control of its attack and its ability to levitate, causing the flying wheel of emanating pain to descend at a rapid rate!

Gar knew what would happen next and called out, "Come on, Mewtwo, break free!", he watched on for several seconds, but no signs of change had happened to the pinwheel.

Then it crosses his mind with a cold chill in his spine, 'He can't break free!?'

Once the wheel was mere yards from the field, with Gar frozen in shock, Izuku shouted out, "Throw it!", Brawleon did as commanded and threw Mewtwo straight at the ground with all the gained momentum!

Mewtwo's body crashed hard onto the already broken field! Hard enough to have the opposing trainers feel tremors! But Izuku wasn't done yet! Without looking at the jumbo board, he assumed Mewtwo was still well enough to fight; he followed by shouting, "Signal Beam again, full power!"

While Brawleon was still in the air, he shot down the attack with all the strength he could muster, sending out a beam that was visibly larger and more powerful than any before! The ensuing back explosion was so great that it bathed the small area of the field in a multicolored array of light!

When everything settled after a tense waiting period, all that stood was a pile of dust, debris, and Brawleon panting heavily. With no Mewtwo insight. All was calm…..too calm.

Izuku, out of breath from the stress and rush of euphoria, asked, "Did-Did it work? Did-Did we win?!"

Izuku looked over in Gar's direction, only to see his head cast down with a shadow covering the upper half…..he looked defeated. But that thought was quickly squashed as a toothless smile arched across his face, making Izuku shiver!

"Close, but no cigar.", He told the younger teen.

Izuku broke into a cold sweat and gulped hard as he wondered what he meant. Then a thought crossed his mind, and he slowly moved his head in the direction of the jumbo board. However, he moved it too slow, and the crater that Mewtwo was pummeled into exploded as an object came hurtling out of it! The object landed, just feet away from Brawleon, and revealed itself to be none other than Mewtwo, looking absolutely livid!

"Wha-what the-how?", Izuku stammered out as Brawleon only stood frozen while looking into its menacing eyes.

"Mewtwo hung on and took the attack so Garfield wouldn't be sad. Buzzt.", Rotom announced, answering Izuku's question.

"That's a thing!?", Izuku exclaimed as he looked between Rotom and Mewtwo several times.

In those times, he saw the regular battle board and saw that despite everything that Mewtwo had gone through just moments ago, it still had just one HP left!

Gar smiled with a victorious glint in his eye as he told his Pokemon, "Mewtwo, Recover."

Mewtwo held its arms across his face in a cross pattern and a strange green glow enveloping its body. Within moments over half of Mewtwo's HP had been restored! Upon seeing this, both Izuku and Brawleon we're shocked beyond words or actions!

"Now, let's finish this off! Mewtwo, end this with one last Psystrike!" Gar commanded.

Mewtwo glared down at Brawleon with an intense and murderous aura! So powerful was it that Brawleon could move a single muscle! Between this and its previous exhaustion, Brawleon was utterly at the Legendries' mercy! Even Izuku was so overpowered by this intense power and feeling that he, too, couldn't force himself to move or speak any words!

Only stand there and watch as his Pokemon gets completely decimated! Some of the 1-A students even tried calling out to Izuku and his Pokemon, trying to get them to move or react! But it all fell on deaf ears and stiff bodies. This was the end.

But then, something strange happened as Mewtwo stood there with killing intent….he just stood there. Mewtwo wasn't moving at all, just standing in place. Almost like he was still waiting for an order.

Gar, who was still standing there with his arm stretched out in a powerful and victorious pose, noticed this and called out with concern in his voice, "...Mewtwo?"

Suddenly strange red music notes appeared all around Mewtwo's body. They danced around before turning black, inverting, and releasing a demonic tone. With the music gone, Mewtwo reverted to its previous form before collapsing to the ground!

Gar was wide-eyed and shocked at this! The only thing he could muster was a silent and disbelieving, "No."

Soon, it was followed by the collective gasp and murmuring from the crowd.

Soon it was Rotom who announced what had happened, "Mewtwo has succumbed to the effects of Perish Song. Buzzt.", The pic of the Legendary darkened, and Rotom followed up, saying, "Buzzt. Mewtwo is unable to battle. Buzzt. Champion Garfield has no more Pokemon to battle, which means the victor is the Challenger Izuku Midoriya!"

The crowd went wild with cheers and yells of excitement, all in the name of Izuku! Victory confetti and fireworks had been released from the top of the stadium like a wild storm! The jumbo board showed a pic of Izuku and his team in bright gold and red background with a crown above them all, along with the words 'WINNER' written below.

Izuku stood there stunned! Completely unable to move, only standing there with a disbelieving expression. The world around him was moving so fast and yet so slow. Even in his mind, the words of his victory took a while to sink in.

He blinked a few times to see if he was awake, and then finally squeaked out, "I-I won…..I won? I won. I WON!", He exclaimed while jumping up and cheering loudly!

Brawleon, who had broken out of his frozen fear-induced stance, also jumped with joy before running towards Izuku, jumping into his arms and lavishing him with many licks.

Meanwhile, with Gar, the older teen simply stood there with a looseness to both his face and body. He was gob-struck, to say the least, and mixed up to the most. It was like his mind was in a fog.

Once his mind cleared a bit, he drawled with a light yet neutral tone, "He….." Gar stopped himself, closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and when he released, he opened his eyes and smiled at Izuku while saying, "He won."

Gar stepped off the field and made his way over to the fallen Mewtwo. Once there, he turned the Pokémon over to his back, scooped up his upper half to a lying position, and held him there till he opened his eyes.

"Great job Mewtwo. You did your best out there. You hung onto the very end. I'm so happy right now.", Despite the praise given, Mewtwo shrunk away and looked down in shame, snorting in a loud sigh. Gar petted his head and told him, "Hey, hey. There's nothing to be upset about. Tomorrow is another day, and I'm sure you'll do even better next time."

Letting the words sink in, Mewtwo remembered another moment similar to this one. And the Pokémon felt himself falling back into nostalgia.

It was that same day in the park with Gar and his team of Pokemon he used to catch him. The other Pokemon and Gar had all completely exhausted themselves after a very long playtime. Most of the Pokémon were lying in the grass or resting in the shade, snoozing the calm afternoon away. The only one still up and about was Gar, who was setting out food for the Pokémon.

Mewtwo stood back in his far corner and watched everything that happened this far. This moment right now was just like his time in the cave. Calm, quiet, peaceful, everything he wanted…..yet different. This time there wasn't a sense of aloneness. There was joy with the company of others, even if he didn't participate in it.

While Mewtwo mulled over these foreign and conflicting feelings, the young human, later he found out to be called Gar, called out to the Pokémon, announcing lunchtime. All the Pokémon jumped from their spots in the grass and shade and ran towards Gar. Six bowls were set on the ground, and all six Pokemon doves in and began to gobble down every morsel like it would be their last! Mewtwo only watched on in amazement and disgust at the scene.

Then his stomach called out in frustration, and Mewtwo realized that he hadn't eaten in…well, never. So he decided it wouldn't hurt to have some food for the first time. Gar and his Pokemon have been exceptionally nice to him this far, except for that one occasion. So he floated over and saw the other pokemon still chowing down hard, and Gar was about to sit down and eat his food.

The boy looked up, and his face brightened up at the sight of him, something he didn't expect. He then spoke to him in a cheerful voice, saying, "Oh Mewtwo! You finally decided to join us, eh? I guess the calls of nature overpower the one in the mind? Anyway, let me make you something."

Gar then went to his pack and pulled out a bowl and a scooper before dividing it into a big labeled 'Pokèchow; One Bag, all Types.' He scooped out a large portion, put it in the bowl, and handed it off to Mewtwo. He reached out the bowl to the Pokemon and smiled. Mewtwo was put off by the smile and everything else about him in the moment. It almost felt…..sickening. However, the nature of his biological urges made him put up with it for now, and he took the bowl. But then something strange happened as he held it in his hand, a flash of his old memories.

Quickly the bowl became a petri dish held in the gloved hand of a scientist! The grassy floor, open sky, and peaceful landscape became the small, dark, cramped lab! The ambient sound turned into the many beeping and blinking machines, the running liquids that were pumped in and out of his body! The awful drip-drop sound of the medical bag that warped both his mind and body into the current form! The surgery tables, the hunks of his flesh, all of it flashed like some sick motion capture all at once! Mewtwo gasped in fright and dropped the bowl, scattering the bits of food in every direction! The bowl flopped to the ground, and small objects near Mewtwo floated into the air or popped with a small explosion!

The other pokemon stopped their feasting and looked over to the Legendary. Mewtwo was breathing heavily, eyes dilated, face sweaty, and skin trembling! It took Gar a bit longer than the others to notice what happened, and when he did, he gave a shocked expression at seeing the food scattered all over. Mewtwo looked at the young boy and felt fear at this! Not fear of him, but fear of his next reaction. Every time Mewtwo couldn't display what was required of him by the scientist in that cursed lab, he would always hear that awful raised tone with those awful words spat at him! He had no idea what they meant at the time, but it wasn't a good thing from the tone and pitch of the scientist yelling at him. It was never the scientists' intent that scared him; whatever they could do to Mewtwo, he could give back tenfold. It was simply the loudness of their voices that freaked him out. And now it seems that he would experience that all over again!

However, Gar just placed his hands on his hips and said with a slightly disgruntled tone, "Oh Mewtwo, you dropped all your food.", he then sighed, shrugged as Mewtwo braced himself. Then he said with a nonchalant tone, "Oh well. I guess it can't be helped. Mistakes happen. I'll just get you a new bowl."

That was not the reaction Mewtwo was expecting…..at all! He then watched as the Persian and Scyther both swamped to the ground and began to snap up the fallen food pieces from the dirt, much to Mewtwo's disgust. Gar took the bowl from the ground, cleaned it, and put a new portion inside. He walked back to Mewtwo and handed out the bowl with a smile. Mewtwo looked at the young boy with a strange expression; he looked at the bowl and then took it into his own hands. Then as he looked between the bowl and the still smiling face of the young Gar, something strange stirred in his body. It was a tight, tugging feeling that knotted up in his chest and stomach, almost making him feel sick. He was choking up for some reason too. Then his vision started to blur, and fear washed over him as he thought he was dying all of a sudden! But that thought was quickly put to rest when something wet started to drip onto the food he was looking down on.

Was it raining? No, it was coming from under his face….was…..was it coming from his face? But…..how, and why? Mewtwo took his free hand and wiped himself across his face to investigate but found the moisture was indeed coming from him, but mostly his eyes. He was leaking, but why was he leaking? It didn't make any sense. But as the water sprayed from his eyes faster and harder, Mewtwo could help but try and hold back a sound that dared try and escape his body! A foreign sound that even while inside felt bad, but he choked it down, making his eye water leak faster. This continued until Mewtwo had his eyes shut tight, teeth ground, lips locked, body tense, shoulders shaking, and eye water leaking fast with a new feeling at Gar's repeated gesture simmering around inside of him.

Gar quickly took notice of the Pokémon's sudden change in attitude, feeling pity for the poor creature as he watched it cry, holding the filled food bowl in an iron grip. Gar only knew of one thing to do and did it. He took out his hand and placed it on the Pokémon's head, and for a moment, Mewtwo stopped its held back sobbing. Gar slowly moved his hand back and forth, petting the creature's hairless head.

"There there, it's okay. You don't have to worry about anything. It was just food.", Gar sweetly cooed to the Pokemon.

At that moment, Mewtwo wanted to hit Gar for being such a dummy in a loving way. But couldn't bring himself as his eye water began to run once more, blinding and immobilizing him. So he simply stood there between the verge of happiness and sadness, melting into the calm honey-sweet words and gentle caressings from the young boy.

Mewtwo snapped away from his nostalgic moment and saw the sight of his Master Ball being held up by Gar. With that, the young man returned him, and Mewtwo felt himself fall back into the peaceful embrace of the nothing. Gar placed the Pokeball back on his hip and looked out towards the young teen celebrating with his Pokemon and the masses cheering and shouting his name. Gar could swear he heard a few people crying with joy. Gar couldn't help but smile and remember the times when that was him, especially the first time it happened. The first time is always the best. He looked at the jumbo board one last time to confirm his defeat…..and it was. He really did lose this battle…..sorta.

He decided not to harp or bring attention to that right now as this was Izuku's time of glory, and Gar had to be the one to finalize it. So he stationed the now conscious Mimikyu on his shoulder and started to walk his way over to the younger teen, who took notice of him once he was halfway across the field. From this distance alone, Izuku could tell what he was feeling, which put him on edge. He just defeated one of the strongest Pokemon trainers alive in front of a live audience! Was he mad? Jealous? Happy? What in the world was he going to do when he finally walked up to him?! Izuku tightened his hold on Brawleon, who noticed this right away. Even though the Pokemon was technically still belonging to Gar, even he could help but feel on edge.

Once Gar walked within talking distance of the younger teen, the crowd cheering came down to a more missable hush. Gar's face was covered in a shadow, and Izuku felt a cold sweat run down his neck, along with Brawleon, who lowered his head nervously. Then without warning, Gar grabbed Izuku by both of his shoulders, causing him to flinch and his skin to vibrate like a horse. He took a deep breath, and when he released, he finally spoke.

"Izuku. I am so very very very-." Gar began as Izuku felt a sweat bead run down his face. "Proud of you!" Gar exclaimed as the shadow left and a very happy and proud sparkling expression sprawled across his face! Starry eyes, tears at the corners, and lips trembling with excitement! Leaving Izuku with a wave of relief and pride as well. "Today, you have accomplished something very large, and even though you didn't win the Sports Festival, you've managed to make yourself known and seen by all in another way. For that alone, you should feel proud.", Gar told him as he nodded in agreement with a smile on his face and tears threatening to spill out.

Gar then looked out towards one of the entryways and waved his hand in a coming motion. Izuku raised a suspicious eyebrow at this but then saw Cementoss come out and walk towards them with a covered wooden box. Gar took the box and held it out in front of Izuku before giving a speech.

"You see, Izuku, every time I was made champion of any region that I surpassed in, I was given a trophy as proof of my championship. Now I tell you this because I had absolutely no need for them since; not only were they cumbersome, but extremely large, and I had no way to lug them around as I traveled. So being the big-brained man that I am, I had all of them melted down into the one trinket I have in this box.", he told him while holding the box out a little more.

"Is it a metallic action figure of you?", Izuku asked innocently.

Gar, trying to hold his server's reaction at the question, simply stated, "No. You see, Izuku, I long since waited for the day when I could find someone who could surpass me in a battle and take my title. And well…..I guess today is that day." Gar then flicked the latches up, and inside was a plain-looking golden bronze medal with the crudely carved word 'Champion' written on it. Gar took the medal by its red strap and held it out, dangling in front of his eyes. "And now I present it to you, Izuku Midoriya. Congratulations.", he said while slipping it over the teary-eyed teen's neck.

He gave his shoulder one last pat before holding his hand in the air and calling out before the crowd of people, "People of Japan! I give you, for the first time in your world, your Officially Unofficial new Pokemon Champion!"

Once again, the crowd exploded with rounds of cheering and shouts, whooping, wailing, and other joyful sounds! Class 1-A was also trying to shout their congratulations out to him over the roar of the crowds! Some even cried for his success! All while, Izuku just looked around, completely dumbfounded by everything that was happening. He wondered if this was all real or not. Did he really win? Were all these people cheering for him? Was he daydreaming like he usually does?

Then he felt Gar nudge him a bit. He looked at him and heard him say in a smaller tone, "Hey, why are you making that face, huh? This is your time, your moment. All these people are cheering for you and only you. You've made a big accomplishment. You should revel and feel proud of that. This is all real."

It was real…..it was real….it was real. The words played through his head several times before it finally clicked! He….he did win. He did accomplish something. He….he did what All Might told him and made himself seen by all! He….He did it….HE REALLY DID IT! With this in mind, Izuku couldn't hold it in any longer. He sobbed openly as he smiled with glee at his victory! For once, Izuku really did feel like his hard work and perseverance actually bore fruit and not by half accidents or situational occurrences.

However, while everyone else was smiling, cheering, and crying for the amazing battle and its victor, there was one who was not. His deep scowl could be felt by everyone around him, causing that one part to go into a defensive state of silence. Well, that and the intensity of his flames growing hotter by the second with his growing annoyance. Instead of cheering, he was grumbling and cruising under his breath through everything he saw.

When he finally spoke loud enough for words to form, he blew black smoke from his nostrils and said in a gruff and irritated tone so low only those close enough could hear him say, "How useless."

Hello everyone, I'm writing this part to give you two bit of news or information about the story. First off, the Sports Festival Arc is almost over! (Hopefully) Only two chapters left (Fingers crossed). And second is about the one review I get told a lot about. And to tell you all honestly…..I GET IT! I'VE SEEN THE SAME THING A MILLION TIMES ALREADY! SO CAN YOU PLEASE STOP TELLING ME OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO GET A BETA OR CHECK MY SPELLING! OR PUT IT THROUGH SOME SPELLING PROGRAM! SHEESH! I GET IT I GET IT ALREADY! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

You wanna know what I do nowadays to remedy this little conundrum? I put the whole thing through Grammarly AND Google Docs AND THROUGH THE SPELL CHECK ON FANFICTION. NET! I've even had a temporary Beta tweak up the first twelve chapters and I'll be sure to get a new one for the others while also putting the old ones through the same process. It'll just take TIME! So please, for my already deteriorated sanity, stop telling me to spell check or get a Beta. Cause I have or tried at the very least. If you somehow manage to find an error despite everything I put it through in all of fucking heaven, then oh well I guess? You'll just have to deal with it since a machine can only do so much and I surely can't go through thousands of words just to find one word with one misplaced letter.

Apart from my rant, thanks for reading and stay tuned for the next chapter where a certain flaming trash can gets royally iced by a guy and his bird.
