Pokémon Trainer Hero

Chapter 61: Government interference. Part.1

It was the following day at UA, still the weekend, and things had been pretty quiet and calm for the majority of the morning and early afternoon…..until it wasn't. The most prominent sound that echoed through the empty halls was the reverberating clicking sound of stiletto heels running down the corridors. This sound belongs to the R-Rated Hero: Midnight, as she ran in a mad dash to the Support Department of UA. Once she got to the doors she threw them open and saw Gar and Mei leaning over a table with welding shields on as Mei was working on something in the center of the table. She even noticed Mewtwo standing in the far back, playing around with some tinker toys.

Midnight's stressful expression faded as she asked, "What are you two doing?"

"Shouldn't I be asking you that, Nemuri?", Gar shot back while pushing up the shield.

"Making a baby.", Mei replied simply with a big grin.

Nemuri paused, then stood on the toes of one of her shoes, then began to act Giggity while biting her lip, the higher herself with one arm, then pressed a finger to her chin and blushed. Looking at Gar like some kind of deviant.

Gar sweat drops at her reaction and clarified with a serious tone, "Not that baby. Me and Mei here are working on making a new A.M.P.D for me."

Nemuri shakes off her horny disposition and shrugs as Far rolls his eyes at her. Then a thought crossed the woman's mind and she asked, "Are you talking about that huge thing on your arm that looked like a rail gun?"

Once again Gar sweat drops with annoyance while Mei bursts out and proclaims, "And with upgrades! Smaller compact size for easy fit and carrying, faster retrieval, shorter cool down, and the best part!", She passed while pushing a button as a blue blank screen made of light pops up. "Holographic touch screen!", She exclaimed while motioning towards it, expecting applause or praise, but only silence.

"Okay. But what's he doing here?", Nemuri asks while pointing to the Pokémon in the back.

Gar looks back and says, "Mewtwo? He just likes being out of his ball. I like to give him as much freedom as possible. He should explore and learn about his surroundings.", As he says this, Mewtwo takes one of the tinkers toys and shoves it in his mouth. Gar turns back to the woman and asks back, "But enough about what I and Mewtwo are doing. What are you doing to put yourself in such a frenzy?"

Nemuri places her hands together while sucking in air between her teeth before explaining, "Actually, Mewtwo is kinda the reason for that.", Gar raises an eyebrow at this and the woman follows up in a soft tone, "Big brother is here."

"FINALLY! I've been waiting for that delivery for weeks!", Mei shouts in exasperating excitement while throwing her hands into the air.

Gar slapped his face and drowned out, "Not the shipping company, Mei. She means the Government…...the Government!?", Gar shouted in shock after his pause.

"They're here, now. And they wanna see you, now.", Midnight told him in a low but serious tone.

Gar nods and looks at Mei while saying, "Mei, stay here and watch Mewtwo…..you know what, scratch that. Mewtwo, you stay here and watch Mei.", Mewtwo gives a thumbs up while chewing on the tinker toy.

Gar and Nemuri leave the room and speed walk down the hallway to the room that the officials are staying in. Even though he was confident, Gar's legs felt like lead with every step he took.

Trying to calm himself, he asked the scantily clad woman, "So what do they want?"

"It has to do with the Sports Festival and Mewtwo. They mentioned both by name, nothing after that.", She told him quickly and precisely.

Gar groaned while rubbing his face with both hands. After pulling away he leaned his head on a locker and asked, "Oh no. When am I going to catch a break?"

Nemuri patted his back consolingly while Gar continued to moan and grip about this predicament. After he got everything out of his system, the two of them continued through the school until they finally made it to the room. They both stood at the door, neither able to move nor make a move. Both just stood there and stared at the door like it was something alien.

Nemuri took a breath and asked the young man, "You ready?"

Gar huffed and replied, "No. But let's do it anyway."

Nemuri was the one to open the door and Gar was greeted by the sight of two tall muscular men sitting in the room, dawning similar to a secret agent. Complete with sunglasses and stoic yet deadpanned expressions. At their hands was a small stack of paperwork, all of which looked far too complex for Gar to understand.

Nemuri cleared her throat and said, "Gentlemen, sorry for the wait."

They both walked in, each man staring blankly at Gar and only Gar. Making him stare back with ire! He then spoke up and told the men with disappointment, "So instead of political suites sitting in these seats, I find their lackeys? No surprise."

"Garfield!", Nemuri scolded him.

To which he made a weird face while motioning to the two men with a shrug. Almost asking if he was wrong.

"You must be Garfield.", The man on the right asked him with a neutral tone.

Both adults' attention was drawn back to the men and refusing to sit down, he replied, "As stated before, yes. What can I do for you two…..there are only two of you, right?"

The man titled his head to the side and straightened out his already impeccable tie while moving the paperwork towards him, and saying, "I'll make this quick since you don't want us here."

'Clearly', Gar commented in his head.

"Sign this and we'll be on our way.", The man states in an almost commanding tone while shoving a pen forward.

Gar put up his hand while shaking them and his head, exclaiming to him, "Woah Woah Woah! Hold on there! You can't just barge in here and force me to sign something I have no idea about!"

"I think you'll find that we can.", He replied with a challenging tone.

Gar glares at him, but before things could escalate a voice startled all of them with a resounding laugh. All parties looked towards the sound and saw Nezu standing in the doorway with a cup of tea in hand and a binder in the other.

After he finished his mocking laugh he asked the man with his own challenging yet calm tone, "Care to practice what you preach?"

The man almost looks like he wants to snarl at the Principal, but the sudden crack of something shifted his attention back to the other two adults, and saw Midnight with her whip in hand. Itching to use it as she licked the length of it, nearly making the man get squeamish. Once Nezu took his seat at the head of the table, Gar took back their attention.

"Now that we have your attention, just what exactly is this little thing you want me to sign?", He asks suspiciously while raising an eyebrow.

The man relaxes and tells him straightforwardly, "Due to the events that have occurred during the Sports Festival, you and your Pokemon have been deemed too dangerous to go around freely."

"That wasn't my fault!", Gar exclaimed in his defense, while slamming his hands on the table.

Midnight held him back enough to calm down, and the man replied, "It doesn't matter who has the fault. This was decided upon by the President and his cabinet members."

"And why weren't we a part of this meeting?", Nezu asks with a calm yet dangerously serious tone.

The second man finally pipes up, getting insulted he snorts out like a bull and says in a somewhat cocky tone, "Your heroes are only a small sector under the larger government. The President and his Cabinet are above you."

Nezu gives a slight eye roll and tells them with the same amount of deadly calm tone, "That's still not a reason. By all accounts, we are Garfield's guardians. You can't make him do anything unless it's through us. Unless you want to do that?"

The first man narrows his eyes under his glasses and tries to throw the ire away by saying, "I'm just the messenger. More importantly, the issue of your Legendary Pokemon is the real problem."

"Problem?", Gar asks back skeptically while crossing his arms.

"That creature you control, Mewtwo, everyone saw when it lifted the entire stadium approximately 1,000 feet in the air. A creature of such power cannot be allowed to roam.", The man tells him straight up.

"As such?", Nezu asks, knowing there to be a catch.

"As such, from here on you are not to use any more of your legendary Pokemon for any reason.", The man informs him with a matter-of-fact tone.

"Not even for an emergency?!", Gar exclaims in disbelief.

"That would be decided by the President and Judicial system.", The second man tells him.

"By that time things would already be thrown into shit.", Nemuri says under her breath while swinging her whip in a small circle.

The two men ignored her comment and the first one explained, "Furthermore you are only allowed to use one Pokemon at any given time. Along with all your current Legendary Pokemon being placed in a Government seal storage facility. The location of which would be held secret. If you fail to meet these demands or refuse to sign you will be incarcerated indefinitely."

"What!?", All three of them say in unison.

"Okay, that's just bull shit!", Nemuri shouts while stamping her foot.

"Yeah, what Midnight said! I'm not agreeing to that!", Gar exclaimed while glaring at the two men.

"Are you sure about that?", The first man asks as he pulls down his glasses to reveal crystal blue eyes that glimmer, making Gar's mind go blank for a moment. "Every time you try to do anything with your Pokemon it always ends in some kind of catastrophe. No matter what you do, how you plan, or whore help you get. Things always turn south. Our world isn't ready for any Pokemon and you know it. Your Legendries are even worse, you saw what Mewtwo did. How can you continue to trust yourself when things always go awry? Can you still be sure you can handle things, what will it take? A death or two….hundred?", He asks as Gar suddenly feels the weight of his words hit him hard, and his statement starts to hold some measure to them. Gilt and humiliation amongst other feelings. The man gives a sideways smile and slides the paper and his own towards him while saying with an enticing yet sweet, "Trust us to help. The Government only has the interest of the people at heart. So go ahead and sign."

Gar looks down at the pen which is practically calling out to him in his head. He tells his body to vibrate like something is trying to control him and another part fighting back. But his mind felt fuzzy. He wanted to sign, he needed to sign! It was the only way. They were right. They were right! No matter what he does or how he does it, things are just gonna get messed up by him and only him! It's his fault things are kike this so far. He knows he can't continue things like this. He's so tired of things always coming up. Maybe if he did things in the Government's hands, then he could breathe just that much easier.

But before his fingers twitched to reach for the pen, a sharp robotic voice snapped him out of his trance, yelling at top volume, "Stop! STOOOOOOOP!", Gar shook his head as the voice yelled out his name. "Gar! GAR! GAR!"

Gar shook the rest of his entranced state away, feeling dizzy, and asked, "Rotom?"

Just then the little Pokemon burst into the room with a panicked expression, and tried to yell, "Don't listen to-mrph!"

Before he could finish, the second man snatched him out of the air and covered his mouth shut.

The first man turned back to them and said with a forceful tone, "Ignore the flying phone! Just sign and we'll be on our way."

Rotom zapper the second man, freeing himself and trying to speak again, "Don't do it! It's all a-mrph!"

But he was cut off once more as the first man grabbed him and covered his mouth. Looking somewhat nervous.

"What's going on here!?", Nemuri demanded while cracking her whip.

"Nothing to worry about! Your phone friend is simply suffering from ionic overcharge and it is spewing nonsense.", The first man tried to brush it off with a hand wave.

"How would you know that?", Gar asks him while suspiciously narrowing his eyes, making the man sweat. "More importantly, I know what Rotom does when he's been overcharged and it's not this!", Gar exclaimed while inching towards the man with a burning fire in his eyes.

As the man was distracted, Rotom ejected himself from the phone and zipped around the room like a streak! Nezu pulled out a remote and turned on a wall projector, which Rotom took full advantage of possessing.

"Thank you Principal!", Rotom thanked the small creature before exclaiming in the room, "Gar, don't listen to them! Buzzt. This whole thing, i-i-its a scam! A fluke! A big lie! Buzzt!", Gar eyes widen at this and the two men grow tenser and tenser while Nemuri watches them from the corner of her eye. "They don't care if you agree with them or not, they're trying to take your Pokemon right now! Buzzt. They're using this meeting as a diversion! Buzzt. And that guy has a quirk that persuades you! I only got Nidoking out defending! Buzzt.", He told them in a panicked flurry while stopping to breathe.

As Gar turned his head to show his fury to the two men, it immediately left him as he saw them reach into their coat pockets for their weapons! Gar panicked and froze up as their arms drew out their firearms! But before they could take them out all the way, Nemuri jumped in and grabbed the second one around the neck with her whip! With one hard and swift tug, she sent his head in the first man's head! Causing both of them to flinch and fall to the floor!

Midnight jumps on the table, retrieving her whip, and commands Gar, "Go! I got these two!"

As she said that, the first one lifted his head, only to be knocked down immediately by the hard and sharp heel of the hero's heel driving into his head! Sending him careening against the floor! Gar jumped over them and ran out the open door towards where his Pokéballs had been hidden away!

Gar felt stupid, he did! How could he fall for such a simple and childish trick? Did he think of all those things before? What was he thinking? Sure they had some merit to them, but was he just gonna give up all his rights and property (And he uses the term loosely), to the Government? Heck no! What is wrong with him!?

The guy's quirk was sure something. If he had known about that ahead of time, he could have mentally prepared himself and not almost been persuaded into signing away his freedom! No one was gonna do that! And no one was getting away with even a single Pokémon or he isn't a Master Trainer! He just hoped he wasn't too late.
