Chapter 63: Government Intervention

It was a seemingly normal and peaceful day for the President. His day started and ended like it usually does with all the little things surprising him in-between. Despite this seemingly blissful calm, something was off and he could feel it! It may have been his quirk known as Sensi-Horn, the four horns sprouting from his greying hair can detect oncoming danger or misfortune. But everything looked normal and peaceful like any other day outside his office floor-to-ceiling full room window. And besides that, he was in his office and heavily guarded, not out on official duty in certain danger. Yet something was still off and he could feel it, like some foreboding storm ready to strike him. He sighed at this thought and took a sip from his tea glass, however, he soon spat that same tea out as a booming thunder sound shook the building!

He wiped his face and suit off best he could and looked outside to see that the weather had dramatically shifted! No longer was it sunny, but now overcast with rolling thunder in the area. Now his horns are vibrating like crazy! Trying to cool his nerves he presses the button on his intercom and speaks to his secretary.

"Yumi, did the weather forecast call for thunder today?", he asked the woman on the other end.

The woman didn't reply for a few seconds before replying, "No sir, it didn't."

Before he could think that something was wrong, everything grew dark outside. He looked out his window and almost thought it was nighttime from how thickly the clouds covered the sky in a blanket of darkness. Then the wind started to whip up and blew against his window hard enough for it to shake from the pressure. Soon huge droplets of rain fell, limiting visibility even more and the President felt his nerves growing with each passing moment! He wanted to look away from the window, but his body told him that if he looked away he'd miss whatever was out there… for him. If he wanted a chance, he had to watch.

It was hard to see anything outside at this point, even the many street lights coming on and the headlights of cars. He couldn't even hear the sound of the city below from the wind and rain. Suddenly thunder boomed loudly three times, then a lightning strike that illuminated everything for just a moment. This happened again, and again, and again! It was like something was approaching him within the darkness and the lighting of the only indicator for where it was! But he still couldn't see anything!

He felt his breath quicken then shorten, his body relaxed and tense up, then his body grew cold, hot, and sweaty! He was like a trapped animal, waiting and watching for his predator to show itself so he could hide or avoid it! But there was no predator, just a foreboding and ominous feeling of dread! Just then something unexpected scared him so bad he nearly fell from his swivel chair! His office door flung open and the President whipped his head to see his best agent hobbling in, leaning on the door frame, wretched with sweat, tears, and spit! Holding his side with a tattered suit and looking even more panicked than him!

"SIR!", was the only thing he got out before his quirk brought his attention back to the window.

Another lighting strike exploded and this time he did see something! Something huge and long and right in his window staring at him with yellow eyes! The President went to scream, but was cut off as his window exploded and a huge wave of pressure knocked his room so hard that he flew out of his chair and into the back wall, causing him to blackout! His huge and heavy desk was flung too with such force that it hit the head agent! Knocking him out and pinning him under the huge wooden furniture! Everything else in his office had been either thrown back, thrown around, or thrown into disarray! Everything was everywhere or broken! Even the lights had been knocked, casting the room in darkness!

The President finally regained his senses, thanks to his horns softening the impact, and looked up to see his whole surroundings thrown into a litterer hurricane and most of all….Darkness. It was quiet apart from the thunder outside and the wind that blew into his office. He was alone and helpless, and whatever was at his window knew this too. He kept his eyes trained on the darkness and watched for something to happen. The thunder boomed once, then twice, then three times. After the third thunder boomed a bolt of lightning struck and illuminated the huge thing from before with a small figure standing at the window sill, both staring directly at him! He jumped with a frightful sound as the darkness took over once more, but it didn't stay dark for very long. The huge thing just outside began to illuminate the golden part of itself, dancing and teasing with every boundless moment they made. As if inviting him to come closer, or courting death into its corner.

With the room less dark than before, he noticed the smaller figure again and just barely made out its face to recognize just who it was! It was none other than the interdimensional visitor he had tried to subdue earlier today and back several weeks ago. He still remembered the way he embarrassed him and his cabinet that day, making his blood boil! He even remembered the moment he watched The Sports Festival, and the entire stadium was lifted but just one of his Pokemon monster creatures, making his blood run cold and wanting nothing else than to put an end to him. But now….the only thing he felt was fear!

Fear of the young man that stared down at him with cold, crewel, golden eyes! Eyes that mirrored the Mega Rayquaza behind him. Eyes that told him he failed and was about to be paid for it! Gar took slow steps towards the President, making the broken glass crack under his shoes crunch, he walked until he was within a few feet of him. Making the older man tense up and squeak in fright as he tries to move away from him, but only hit the wall.

Once there he turned his feet to the side, lifted his chest and neck, and spoke to him with a slow and calculating tone that bordered on anger. "Well Well Well. Commander and Chief Hideyoshi Fujun'na, groveling at my feet and cowering like a Wimpod. How fitting."

Before anything else could happen, the President heard his security squad yelling to him from behind his door! Before any relief could wash over him, Gar motioned his hand towards the door and Rayquaza shot a beam that melted and closed the metal door shut before anyone else could enter! Cutting off anyway for him to leave or help to come. The last thing he heard before turning his attention back to Gar was his security detail calling to him from behind the welded door.

"Enough of that. No more distraction. Just you, and me.", Gar told him while approaching closer, causing the man to flatten his back against the wall. "This is pathetic, you know. You go through all this trouble to try and not only take away my freedom and right but steal my Pokemon, make me look like some kind of villain in the public eye, but also send you best boys to do it as well, and still, you end up like this? The least you can do is practice what you preach and face me like a man, instead of cowering like a Wimpod. But I guess that's too much when you don't have the balls to back yourself up, hmmmmm?"

The President said nothing in return, so Gar continued and prompted him forward, "Tell me honestly, did you think that plan of yours was going to work? I could've come up with a more sound plan than what you did. Did you think I'd just send your goons to march in and steal from me? You know it was a hero school, with heroes as the staff. If my Pokemon didn't fight them, then they sure would've. You might influence the law, but you're certainly not above it in any way. What you did was illegal, plain and simple."

This time the President swallowed and regained his voice while asking back, "So have you come to do me in?"

Gars eyes widen at the question and he snorts in amusement while saying, "Do you in? Psh! Don't make me laugh. I can name ten Pokemon that could've done that for me from a distance. If I wanted you gone, you'd be gone. And I certainly wouldn't be here."

"Then why are you?", the President asked, feeling a bit less fearful.

Gar walked up to the man and crouched down to his eyes level while saying, "I just think it's better for the big talk big leader to physically pass the threat, instead of letting someone else pass the message on. Originally I had intended to let your lackey give it to you in my stead, but ultimately I decided against it. And it seems I came just before he did.", he takes notice of the agent's unconscious form before turning his attention back to the older man. He leans closer to the man until their noses are just about to touch and Gar continues saying, "I think it is far better to show that I'm a serious man of my word and tell you to your face!"

The President's eyes dart around the room as if looking for something, then sees his desk that had pinned down his head agent. He has a gun in there he could use. Not a normal gun, but one that sends a blast of high-pressure air. Strong enough to bend metal and punch through bulletproof chest plates. If only he could get there to grab it. But as his eyes focus on it, Rayquaza snaps one of his whiskers and shatters the desk into pieces! Simulants freed the agent, even though he was still out cold.

Gar shook his head while leaning back and saying, "Whatever you have in mind, don't even try it. You see the giant creature behind me?", he asks while throwing a thumb over his shoulder, "That's Rayquaza, the King of the Skies. A God of sorts from my universe. There's nothing you can do that he won't be able to shrug off or overpower. So it's pointless to hope.", the President gulps dryly as he briefly looks at the godly Pokemon floating just behind him.

"Now before I give you my message I just want to know, straight from the Horsea's mouth, why did you do all this?", he asked while narrowing his eyes dangerously.

The President tried to gain his confidence back, but only managed to squeak out a lackluster, "You…..You don't belong here."

Gar sighed while closing his eyes and leaving away from him, saying, "On that, we both can agree. I didn't want to come here and now I can't leave.", he said firmly while standing back up.

"You brought those other freaks with you.", the President tried to argue back, but still sounded weak.

Gar snaps his neck to the man and angrily stomps over to him, making the older man cry out in a panic as he is lifted off the ground by his suit collar! Staring into the venomous golden eye of Gar as he exclaimed in a half yell, "I didn't bring them here! I didn't even know this universe existed! I still don't wanna be here! But I'm not the heartless monster you think I am! I'm not gonna leave until Team Freak and Team Rocket are caught! They may not be my mess, but I'm not just gonna abandon this world and leave you all at their mercy! Without me, you'd be doomed."

"Your-Your a threat to everyone. The Sports Festival-.", the President tries to fight back with a shaky tone, before being dropped and cutting off his sentence.

Gar let off an aggravated and disgusted sigh and exclaimed, "Oh shove it with the Sports Festival excuse! Let's be real for a second here, you don't care about the people of Japan. Just yourself, your status, and keeping said status for as long as you can. You want me gone or under your thumb simply cause you to see me as a threat to that. You see me as something more powerful than you, and something you can't control or use, that's what you think.", the President tenses up as the hairs on his neck stand on end. Feeling like the young man bore a hole into his brain! He wordlessly listens as the young man continues his rant. "You might've been scared when Mewtwo lifted the stadium in the air, but you also felt jealousy. The moment you saw the power I held, the power that's greater than your power of influence and control, you immediately turned green. You wanted all that power to yourself to elevate yourself even more. That's why you wanted to subvert my rights and take me, and I use the term loosely, property.", Gar says with narrowed eyes as the President feels his insides churn up and his throat close up while breaking into a cold sweat.

How did this kid know his thoughts so well?! And why shouldn't he have power like that?! With something like these monsters at his beck and call, he wouldn't even need heroes or even All Might to make sure no villains ever tried anything! He could govern this country for the better! He could get them out of their debts and keep anyone from trying any hostile takeovers or even turning the tables against those who would oppose them! He should have that in his hands. He should!

Gar can tell that his analysis isn't getting through to him. Just going in circles and no signs of learning or epiphany in sight, just the same old thoughts that have been renewed with new vigor. And that pissed Gar off more than anything. So he pulled out his last move and gave the politician his ultimatum.

He stood over the man this time, planting his foot next to him and glazing down so hard that his head was practically leaning against the wall. With the older man's eyes above and the look of fear and anxiety stark across his face, Gar gave him his demands, "So let me make myself clear on something. You will never have my power, not even for a moment, nor will I ever give it to you willingly. I'll fight you and whoever you send at me with tooth and nail! And if you ever try something like this again, you will regret it! That I can promise.", Gar told him with a deadly serious voice and glaring eyes.

This proclamation almost made the President angry at being refused what he demanded, but it quickly faded with another crack of lighting outside the window and the golden bits on Rayquaza glowing even brighter and more menacing! Making Gar appear in a terrifying golden hue! Another golden flash and the President closed his eyes and veered away in fear! When he opened his eyes he saw that gar was not standing back at the window sill with his back turned to him, standing perfectly in between Rayquaza's eyes. Eyes that truly belonged to a God! A god that had no care for his life and would snuff it out if he became annoying enough. The President shivered and regressed at this thought and sight.

Gar looked over his shoulder, only showing one eye, and gave the older man some parting words, "I'm on your side President Fujun'na, your ally, or at least I'm trying to. So do yourself a favor and don't make me your enemy. You'll come to regret it. That's a promise."

Another crack of lightning blinded the man again as he shut his eyes from the sudden change of light! Winds whipped into his office and he covered himself with his arms as it felt like a tornado was cast into his room! He fell onto the floor and cowered until it suddenly stopped. He released his head from his arms and saw that everything was back to the way it was before….at least with the weather, his office was still a disaster and wet. The sun was shining again without a cloud in the sky, it was quiet except for the city noises, everything seemed to gleam with the water. If it wasn't for his office being solid proof, he would've half guessed that everything before was all in his head. But he knew it was all real, every last bit of it. The President lay on the floor as he realized something he didn't want to consider. He messed up, he didn't win, he didn't get as he planned, and now he was on eggshells with someone that could destroy everything he worked so hard to gain, and then he. He didn't know which part of that scared him even more.
