Chapter 70: Return to the USJ part. 2
"Lickilicky, use Lick!", Izuku cried out as the large pink Pokemon shot out its tongue like a rocket.
However, All Might dodged the attack with ease, sidestepping sharply before doing a few backflips for good measure. He laughed and boastfully vexed, "HA! YOU THINK USING THE SAME-!", before he could finish that thought, the long tongue made a sharp 90-degree turn and headed straight for him!
"WHAT?!", All Might cried out in shock as he tried to dodge the organ, only for it to keep following him. "IT'S LIKE A GUIDED MISSILE AND SO FAST!", he stated as the tongue kept advancing on him no matter where he tried to spring away too.
Then the huge man had a bright idea and stood still for just a moment long enough for Lickilicky to drop his guard and go straight for him. When he did, All Might raised his leg high and brought it down in the tongue, pinning it down to the floor!
"GOTCHA! AND I'M NOT USING MY HAND THIS TIME!", he boasted at his bright idea. All Might hoped to use the pain shock as a time gainer, to strike the Pokémon out cold. But when he raised his foot, he noticed that the tongue was still stuck to his boot. He tried to shake it off but found that he couldn't.
"WHAT THE-? STICKY?", he said to himself in confusion.
"Constrict!", Izuku quickly followed up as Lickilicky pulled out even more tongue and used it to lasso and then wrap around the large man's body.
"THIS FEELS FAMILIAR.", All Might said to himself as he was lifted off the ground and flipped around.
"Slam him down!", Izuku shouted.
Lickilicky whispered his tongue down once again and sent All Might crashing into the ground with a loud THUD and an explosion of dust! Once again when the dust settled, All Might was completely unharmed and found a one-armed handstand in defiance to save himself.
"Dangit! He saved himself again!", Uraraka cursed in frustration while stamping on her foot.
"I SAVED MYSELF AGAIN! AND-!", All Might started to gloat again until he tried to pull his arm out, but quickly found he couldn't. "SHIT I'M STUCK!", he announced a bit too loudly as he frantically tried to pull his arm free.
"Now everyone! Attack and grab Gar!", Izuku called out as he and several other students ran towards All Might, looking to take him down or take Gar from his hands!
All Might momentarily panicked until he realizes he could still use his feet, and that's just what he did! Standing on his grounded hand he began to perform moves similar to that of kickboxing or break dancing. It was much harder to accomplish without his hands, and several students got within whispering distance of landing a blow on him or even snagging Gar!
Though he managed to fight them all back. The Pokémon he had trouble with, but using Gar again he managed to dissuade them from attacking head-on. Then Bakugou tried to attack again and All Might had to regrettably use Gar as a weapon once more, but Bakugou saw this coming, veered around him, and attacked from the opposite end! All Might winched at the pain for a moment and noticed that the eruption of power caused his hand to shift slightly, though he was far from free.
All Might made a show to make it look like he took considerably more damage than he did and Bakugou fell right into it. He blasted himself back a bit before rocketing forward and readying an even stronger attack! All Might saw him come from the same side and shifter himself ever so slightly.
Once he was in range, All Might kicked up dust to make him flinch, before grabbing him with both feet mid-flight! Bakugou tried to break free and blast his legs, but All Might whip his head around good, causing him to spin in the air where Gar was once again used as a flail! Bakugou sailed back towards the regrouping teens and landed painfully in the rocks and dust! Bakugou screamed in frustration and cursed All Might for constantly using Gar as a weapon against only him, yelling at him to stop or else!
All Might laughed in retort and exclaimed, "HA HA HA HA! EVEN WITH A HANDICAP YOU'RE ALL STILL WEAK!"
"Lickilicky, use Gyro Ball!", Izuku called out as the large pink Pokémon's skin hardened and gleamed like metal before spinning threateningly like a top towards All Might!
All Might was able to fend off the Pokemon by using the same technique as before, though due to the Pokémon being naturally stronger and faster than any regular human, it was harder in comparison. Especially since this one was trained for combat and was able to employ self strategy, such as when All Might tried to use Gar as a deterrent, only for Lickilicky to instantly change directions and skirt around him to attack. Which All Might would block with his kicks, but it still made for a tricky game of kick-away.
"CRAP! THIS IS SERIOUSLY HARD!", All Might cursed.
Lickilicky took his weakness and exploited it as best he could. Spinning towards All Might's front, only to watch the hero stand up and try to arch his back and legs in front to block. Only for Lickilicky to do a 180 and move right behind the man, aiming for his exposed stomach! All Might panicked and used his full force, he spun around and kicked the Pokémon away in time! Luckily this also freed his trapped arm from the ground!
He stood up while raising his freed arm and exclaimed, boasting, "HAHA! I AM FREE ONCE MORE!", at that moment, Lickilicky's tongue shot out from nowhere and wrapped around him while he was boasting. All Might deflated and said, "CRAP."
He was then viciously pulled towards the Pokémon who glared up at him, making All Might feel a mix of awkwardness at the height difference and fear at the intensity of its gaze!
"Now Lickilicky, use Hyper Beam!", Izuku commanded as Lickilicky began to charge up the energy beam.
"NO NO NO NO NO! WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT! I DON'T WANNA GET BLASTED IN THE FACE!", All Might begged in a panic before pausing and asking to himself, "I FEEL LIKE I'VE SAID THAT BEFORE. BUT WHERE? Oh wait, now I know."
"You should've thought of that before you decided to break in, beat our teachers, and attack our friends!", Iida called out angrily as he freed his trapped leg from some rubble.
"Lickilicky, fire!", Izuku yelled at Lickilicky and released the attack.
The light from the move was bright enough for everyone present to look away, cover-up, or squint. Once the light died down and everyone looked over to the sight of the battle with an ember of hope, it was quickly snuffed out at the sight before them! Lickilicky's attack has been arching up towards the ceiling instead of the villain! Who was responsible for its misleading. The villain's one free was around the Pokémon's neck, causing it to look up, where the Hyper Beam followed its point!
"SO CLOSE. AND YET, STILL NO CIGAR.", All Might boast in a low and threatening tone making Lickilicky quiver.
Without hesitation, All Might knocked Lickilicky in the gut, causing him to release its grip over his body! From there, All Might pulled the rest of him free from the tongue and nailed Lickilicky with a hard uppercut! Lickilicky flew through the air before falling in the dirt with the group of young heroes!
Izuku felt panic run through him as he dashed over to the Pokémon, crying out its name in concern. "Lickilicky!", he yelled while sliding down to his side. Luckily the attack wasn't too powerful this time around and Lickilicky was still able to hold on to his conscious state, but he was still hurt! Izuku put his lip in frustration and said, "Return."
With that, Lickilicky was brought back into the Pokéball. When Izuku placed the Pokéball into his belt pockets, Uraraka came up to his side with an astonished expression, asking, "Wow Deku-kun, I'm blown away! How'd you know all of those moves Lickilicky knew?"
Izuku opened his mouth to answer but stopped as he didn't know. He thought it over a bit and explained it to her as best he could, telling her, "I'm not sure actually. It just sorta came to me, like a strange feeling you don't think about. Almost like blinking, it's weird."
Their revealing conversation was quickly halted at All Might's vexing laughter, as he proclaimed, "HA HA HA HA! YOU LITTLE HEROES REALLY HAVE NO SKILL AT ALL, DO YOU?! CONSTANTLY COMING AT ME ONE AT A TIME! NOT A SINGLE ONE OF YOU HAS A CHANCE AGAINST ME!"
"Oh man, what are we gonna do now?", Uraraka asked to herself while unknowingly holding Izuku's arm.
Izuku races through his mind for anything they could do, and when he did, something that All Might said struck up a thought. A thought that quickly became a revelation. A revelation that was staring him in the face.
"That's it.", he said in a low tone before shouting, "That's it!"
"What's it? What's it!?", Uraraka asked him with concern and inquiry.
He turned to her and said with an assured expression of exclamation, "The problem we've been having this whole time. The reason we haven't been able to get this guy down is that, as individuals, none of us are strong enough to take him."
"Are you calling me weak, Deku!", Bakugou pulled himself painfully from the rocks and yelled at him challengingly.
"What? NO!", Izuku snapped at him, making the boy flinch for a moment of j response as Izuku explained further. "I'm saying we're going about this all wrong. Heroes are supposed to work together when the going gets too tough for just one of us, and none of us are working together! We have to pool all our strengths together and we might just have a chance of beating this guy.", he told the whole class who also seemed to be having this realization, they clearly didn't want to admit it.
Iida stood upon a high boulder and loudly pronounced, "Midoriya is absolutely correct! We've been trying to take him on ourselves with no luck. All of us who fight him in a group just end up getting the other way, we have no teamwork, we have to work together as a team to beat this villain!"
"If that's the case, then how do we 'work together? Do you guys have a plan?", Sero asked while flipping up his helmet.
Iida and Izuku thought it over for some time, but even their top student couldn't think up anything at that moment due to all that was going down, but Izuku was different.
a light bulb hit him quickly, a plan forming in his year as he told everyone, "I think I might, and it involves all of us. Heroes and Pokemon."
As this was happening, All Might was sitting back in the arena and watching everything unfold. Unsure if he should intervene, keep looking, or find out what they were saying. Eventually, he got impatient and decided to bring things to an end.
"OI! ARE YOU ALL DONE WHISPERING OVER THERE? I'M GETTING BORED OF WAITING FOR YOU TO ATTACK AND FAIL ALL AT ONCE. IF NOT-.", he shouted to all of them while getting into a running stance before sprinting off towards them, shouting, "I'M JUST GONNA COME OVER TO YOU!"
Once All Might was in the range of his initial bound, Izuku shouted, "Now!"
In an instant, several things happened to All Might all at once, putting the man into a very unfathomable position. Dozens of birds flew from the sky and began to peck at his face, making the man halt his charge to shoo them away. Unfortunately, this also left him open for dozens of rats to swarm at his feet and run up his body. But this didn't deter him as he bounced Gar into the air and made a clap so loud that it not only scared the animals off but also snuffed out Kota's voice.
All Might grabbed Gar from the air and was about to advance when he was struck by a sound attack, curiosity of Jiro. She had downed an energy drink and was forcing her heartbeat to pound as fast and hard as she could make it! Luckily All Might had been put through far stronger sound-based attacks and sat through it until Jiro gave into exhaustion. Once free from the sound he quickly saw how he was being double teamed by Ambipom and Corviknight! Both Pokemon coming from different sides with Ambipom using Revenge and Corviknight using Steel Wing!
All Might was about to block when all his senses told him to dodge! He did and a small orb of energy flew past his head. All Might look in the direction of the attack and saw Kecleon gripping a nearby boulder. The small Pokemon looked livid and a bit different. Taking note of the fact it was no longer green, but instead the same shade of brown as the rock it clung to. All Might thought that this was only due to it being a chameleon Pokemon.
Kecleon then shot another orb but All Might stood firm to block it and ended up cringing after knocking it away! All Might wondered why that was, as the attack felt like someone chuck a really hard rock at him. He then heard Izuku shout out "Hidden Power", and All Might remembered hearing that move from Gar. Used in conjunction with the move Camouflage, it can be used to create an attack of any kind given the environment.
After blocking the last attack he threw a rock at the Pokémon and watched as the boulder shattered into pieces upon impact! All Might inwardly cringed at his overkill counter but didn't have long as Ambipom and Corviknight attacked once more! This time he was ready and grabbed one of Ambipom's tails and throw the creature at Corviknight, causing both to pass out from the head-on collision! Fortunately, this caused All Might to stand open to attack from Dark Shadow who tried to pull a fast one and grab Gar.
Though as always, All Might was faster and on point as he grabbed the quirk with his free hand and was ready to throw him and Tokoyami together. Instead, however, he was blind sided by both Sato and Shoji who managed to land blows on him at both sides! The blows were hard but All Might mustered through and was about to counter when another energy projectile hit his face! He didn't even need to look to know that it was Kecleon who did it. No doubt his previous attack missed and the Pokémon simply blended into the environment to escape. This gave Sato and Shoji another chance to strike, but All Might used his grip over the sentient quirk to bind the three of them together before making his escape. Once out of range from the tangled teens and the quick shot Chameleon, he stared down the other teens with a suffocating intensity!
"SO, YOU KIDS LIKE THROWING THINGS, EH? WELL HOW ABOUT I FOLLOW YOUR EXAMPLE!", with that, All Might rammed his first into the ground before ripping it out while digging up huge clumps of earth and stone.
The sheer force of the move was so immense that it also kicked up a nearby boulder towards the teen! Ayona, Kirishima, Mina, Sero, Bakugou, and Ojiro all took care of the debris coming at them as All Might gloated and boasted.
"HA! I EXPECTED A LITTLE MORE STRATEGY OUT OF YOU HEROES.", All Might exclaimed to them as a gust of wind whipped behind him.
He turned his head around and saw that Shoji, Sato, and Dark Shadow were all gone. He looked back at the group of young teens and saw all three of them standing with the rest of them, untangled from one another, and with a tired-looking Iida at their side. All Might knew right away that this was a well-placed setup and rescue from the kids and couldn't help but feel impressed and proud of them.
"Ask and you shall receive.", Iida told him breathlessly as he looked into the air.
All Might brought his gaze up as well and saw several huge boulders floating in the air or around the perimeter of their battle stage. Some of them had the stronger students standing behind them, looking ready to engage. His eyes scanned the crowd and saw a very sickly-looking Uraraka dry heaving on the ground.
The girl wipes her face off, slowly and weakly brings her fingertips together, and says, "Re-Release."
At this, All Might watched as the boulders regained their gravity and started to fall towards him, even the students with boulders near them began to throw, kick and punch them at him! He was self-assured and ready for this and waited for them to fall close enough for him to smash them apart with his bare hands, but he paused as he saw something strange. Upon closer inspection, he saw the stones were coursing with electricity and falling unnaturally! He then noticed something long and nearly translucent attached to the rocks.
All Might thought fast and knew that the boulders must've been coated in something that allows electricity to flow, knowing they couldn't do that naturally. He knew that Lickilicky hadn't been fully KOed and must've been used to coat them, then had Kaminari use his quirk to make them untouchable. The translucent lines on each of them were Sero's tape, and the lines were being used to manipulate how they fell! All Might knew he could punch his way as he thought, now he had to run and hope to not get hit or buried!
However, he quickly found that to be just the case, though he wasn't buried in the traditional sense. He noticed, as he ran around dodging huge projectiles, the stones were falling in a neat and organized fashion and deliberately so. They weren't trying to bury him so much as they were trying to corral him. Before he knew it the stones had been buried high and all around him in a dome! All Might would've broken out there and then, but he was so impressed by the kid's ingenuity that he couldn't help but stand there in marvel and awe.
Then he heard a strange sound coming from all around. He looked around and noticed that all the light in the cracks was starting to disappear one after the other. Before he knew it he was nearly in complete darkness. He went over and touched the walls with the last strings of light and immediately pulled back! It was acid that was melting the stones together, and All Might was thoroughly impressed at this point with their creativity and ingenuity. Once the solidification was complete he went back into character.
"BWA HA HAHA! IS THIS IT?! TRAPPING ME IN THIS PRISON OF STONE, HOW RIDICULOUS! A STONE CAGE CANT HOLD ME, LITTLE HEROES! HA HA HA!", he boasted to the empty dark silent space as he threw his head back to laugh.
"he he he.", laughed a smaller voice in cadence with him. A human laugh that most certainly wasn't human.
"HA HA HA!", All Might laughed again, thinking he was just hearing things.
"He He He.", Laughed the voice again, this time a bit more clearly.
"Ha Ha!", All Might laughed again, this time with far less robustness to it.
"HE HE HE.", The eerie voice laughed even more clearly and louder.
"ha!", All Might pathetically tried to come back only for the voice to retort with an even louder laugh.
"HE HE HE!", Laughed the voice in a sinister tone.
A tone that made the hero shiver in fright and begins to sweat. All Might tried to look around for whoever was laughing at him but saw nothing but the darkness around him. Darkness that almost seemed to swim around him. He looked again and saw that his machinations were correct, the darkness around him seemed to move like that of waves on the ocean! Constantly shifting and swirling in all directions! A sight that would be normal in the natural world, but in pure shadows was just mind-bogglingly vertigo-inducing!
All Might felt like he was in a room of infinite height and length and yet compressed to mere inches at the same time. It made both his mind and his stomach churn with uneasiness. He was nearly on his knees from the feeling alone, but then he saw something that made his primal mind freeze up in fear!
The darkness in one spot began to slowly swirl like a whirlpool as a thick three-clawed hand reached out and leaned on the ground. From there another came out and touched the ground where they both began to lift something up and out of the portal. It crawled on all fours with its face towards the ground as it walked uncomfortably. It was Gengar, who was looking for more spikey on his back, which looked like a porcupine, and far less fluffy and approachable!
Once Gengar was out of his portal, All Might heard the strange human-like laughter emanating from him, and it caused his blood to run cold! Gengar rose to his feet and showed his face, which was far less spooky goofy and far more menacing. He had no eyes, or if he did they were super small. The only facial feature he had was a long thin slit that served as his mouth. Then the Pokémon did something that would haunt the hero's dreams for the rest of his life! He opened his mouth, a mouth that spanned the whole length of his body, head to foot, filled with jagged misshapen razor-sharp teeth! And he let out a beastly scream that could've only come from the depths of hell itself! All Might finally regain control over his body and his flight response kicked into overdrive at the sound of his scream!
"AAAAAAAAHHHH!", He yelled in terror as he ran towards the nearest wall, bounding and scratching at it like a caged animal!
All Might didn't dare look back, but he knew it was coming right towards him from the pitter-patter of its feet and hot breath which seemed to stretch across the whole area! All Might stopped panicking long enough to remember who he was and immediately broke the dome in one hit, allowing sunlight to fold in!
"G-G-G-GHOST!", He yelled as he tried to run out of there as fast as his shaking legs could go.
Only to quickly find out he hasn't moved a single inch and is simply creating skid marks on the ground. He looks down and sees he's been ensnared by gangles of black drippy tendrils! Behind him, he can hear and sense Gengar at the controller and slowly begin to pull him back. All Might went into a full-blown panic and started to run harder and faster than he probably needed to! He broke free of the darkness trying to hold him and ended his face planting and skidding across the dirt! He shot up to his knees and began to dry heavily in fear, nearly going to rip his mask off just to breathe easier! Once he calmed down he remembered Gar and looked down at his hand, only to see nothing but the torn shreds of his hoodie and bodysuit!
"WHAT THE-? MY LEVERAGE!", He cries out in a panic as he tries to jump to his feet, only to realize he can't.
He looks down and sees that the area around him has been laced with Mineta's sticky balls! He quickly looks around to find Gar, to reclaim him once he's been freed, but sees that he's safe in the grasp of Tsuyu, Sero, and Lickilicky! Who no doubt are the ones that yanked him free.
He starts to shimmy and states, "HA! THIS WON'T HOLD ME!"
As he says this, Kecleon appears in front of him and spits up an energy ball the All Might dodged by leaning back and letting it pass by his face. When he brings his head back up he sees that Kecleon is gone and he's very cold. He looks down and sees that his entire lower half has been frozen over by Todoroki.
"THIS MIGHT HOLD ME.", All Might stammers out begrudgingly.
Before he realizes it several more things happen at once that lead to his utter capture! Momo uses her quirk to make a cannon and fire it at All Might! A net springs forth and tangles itself around the huge man, making him even more constrained! As he struggles to break free from everything, he never noticed how Iida was quickly piloting a select few people behind him. Izuku, Bakugou, and Shoji all stand behind All Might at the opposite end of the battlefield and the strong six-armed boy takes the other two up into them as a human cannonball.
"Ready Shoji-kun?", Izuku asks the strong teen.
Shoji nods and replies, "On your mark.", He turns to Bakugou and asks him, "Are you ready Bakugou?"
Bakugou growls at the question and snaps back, "Just shut up octopus! Of course, I'm fucking ready!"
Shoji gives him a dissatisfied expression and Izuku groans while stating, "Just answer the damn question like a normal person you freaking spazz.", Both Shoji and Bakugou looked surprised at this change of tone from the normally kind and easily panicked Izuku, who keeps his eyes focused ahead and says, "Now get ready."
Shoji and Bakugou flinch for a moment at the shock and Izuku's seriousness before getting their heads back into the game.
Izuku focused on the target and shouted, "Now!"
Without fail, Shoji chucked the two boys with all his might at the villain! The two boys flew through the air and readied their attacks at All Might's back, and once they were there they didn't hold back for a moment and let All Might feel the full frontal force of their attacks! Their combined power was so great that it not only knocked the wind clear out of All Might but also broke him free of his restraints and sent him hurtling towards the strategically placed metal debris that was covered entirely by Mineta's sticks balls! All Might practically face-planted on the board and found himself completely immobilized!
Everyone held their breath and watched the villain try to struggle free, expecting him to bust himself out and continue his attack! But instead, they watched as he simply struggled like a hooker worm and heard him say, "SHIT, I'M STUCK!"
The teens all broke out into celebratory and congratulatory cheers of happiness! All of them screaming and hollering with glee as they hugged one another and jumped around! Even the Pokémon got in on it! All while Bakugou slowly and threatening approach the villain with his quirk at the ready.
He licked his lips as he said in a sinister tone, "Nowhere to run, and no one to use a flail against me. Now I'm gonna blow you to piece and then blow those pieces to hell!"
All Might tried to struggle free, to no avail, at the coming danger and stammered out in pleading, "WAIT WAIT WAIT! I-I-I-I-I-I-.", He then slammed his face on the sticky balls and pulled his face away, ripping off the mask and shouting, "I AM HERE!"
With moments of his reveal, everyone and things went completely still and silent! All eyes were on the smiling man as he stared back at them with a heavy sense of anxiety riddled awkwardness loomed over him. After a brief adjustment period of trying to absorb all of this, Izuku was the first to mutter out any words.
"All….Might!?", he managed to squeak out in shock.
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH!, The whole class shouted in a union of disbelief.
