Pokémon Trainer Hero
Chapter 76: The Dynamic Dunces
It was the day after Bayo revealed project Eris to the world, and Gar had just gotten back to the school after a long day of teaching the police force everything regarding Pokemon. How to catch, battle, interact and care for them. Each officer was given a Pokemon from either the counterfeit shiny raid or the ones confiscated from Team Rocket and their failed invasion. From there they were given a quick video guide and sent off to Gar for more in-depth instruction. With a good portion of the force Gar, Nezu, and the Chief had managed to put together an improved team to deal with the new wild Pokemon running amok.
The Pokemon Protection Initiative, or P.P.I for short. These officers would get more specific training, later on, to learn about the many Pokemon they would no doubt meet and know how to deal with them. Which to ignore, which to catch, and which to run out into a different environment without disrupting everything. The plan was for these people to go out and deal with the many rampant Pokemon. Trying to catch, corral, move, or live at ease within their new environment.
Despite their inhuman and unnatural abilities, many Pokemon could live among wild animals, like birds and bugs. All caught Pokemon would be taken to the many police precincts around Japan and placed in special vaults for safe keeping, like the one in UA. Luckily they had plenty of Pokeballs to use during several raids on illegal trades.
It had taken the whole day just to do all this, but by the end of the day, the officers were already making progress on settling down the crazy cities and towns with Pokemon that didn't belong there. Gar was just glad he didn't have to do any of it. It would be one thing for a dozen or so, but he'd go mad if he tried this! He was still worried about everything, especially the officers who just got shoehorned into all this mess. He essentially just gave a bunch of toddlers instructions on driving a car, threw the keys, and said have fun. Still, he had to keep Nezu's words to heart and believe in them, put his trust in them, and offer a hand when things did get rough.
After all this, all Gar wanted to do was return to his room. By the time he walked through the gate, classes had ended and all students had started to leave the building. During his walk and passing students who thankfully paid no mind to him, he caught a glimpse of his favorite people in the world. Izuku, Uraraka, Iida, and Todoroki. He walked up to the group and struck up a conversation with their smiling faces, excited to see him. But just before they could divulge their days, several smoke bombs were thrown and exploded all around the gate and courtyard!
Several students caught in the smoke ran or tried to duck for cover! Some panicked, some screamed, and some just held onto their nearest body! It was pandemonium for several seconds as the students tried to make heads or tails, along with teachers running out to see what was the matter!
Once things seemed to calm down a bit, a voice called out from the smoke-covered front gate, telling the crowds of panicked and confused teens, "Heroes of UA! Prepare for Trouble!"
"On second thought, scratch that, and Make it Double Trouble.", another voice called out.
"That moto.", stated Iida.
"Could it be?", Uraraka asked.
"I don't know. But regardless. Everyone! Get ready!", Gar shouted to the other students and teachers.
Some of them ran or tried to bring the kids to safety, while others stood their ground and looked ready to fight. From within the smoke, two silhouettes began to appear as they continued with their introduction.
"To cover the world in a dark devastation!", said a female voice.
"To sink our claws into the people of every nation!", a male voice followed up.
The smoke started to clear up and revealed two other figures with them. One was small while the other appeared to hover above the ground. As it cleared up, their clothing became visible and a large violet-colored F was shown across their chests.
"To denounce the goodness of society and announce its flaws!", said the female voice.
"To extend our shadow far and beyond!", the male voice chimes in.
At this, the smoke nearly disappeared and their full forms were now on full display. There was a man and a woman with similar yet different outfits. The baseline of it was designed after a Shuppet, with a large long hooded cloak being the main centerpiece. Large ghostly eyes printer on the hood with a long tip on top, a grey body suit with the violet F on the chest, black pants for the male, and a black skirt with grey stockings for the female. The man wore ankle-high boots and female heels.
"Bonnie!", the woman introduced herself.
"Clyde!", the man introduced himself.
"Team Freak, a force you simply cannot deny!", Bonnie stated while striking a pose.
"Surrender yourselves or prepare to die!", Clyde demanded while striking his pose.
As the last bits of smoke finally dissipated two Pokemon were revealed. The first one is a small, round, pink, star-shaped Pokémon. Its hands have two white claws and a thumb. Its ears are short and pointy with dark tips. It has a long, curled tail and swirly hair, and pink cheeks. On its back, it has small wings. This is a Clefairy.
The second one was spherical with a purple body, and two stringy arms that have yellow heart-shaped hands on the ends of them. At the base of its body is a frayed protrusion that resembles the tied end of a balloon. In the very center of its body is a yellow tape-like "X", which contains its smallmouth in the very center. Located on either side of the "X" are its small, black eyes. A white mass of fluff that resembles a cloud sits on top of its head. This Pokemon is Drifloon.
"Clefairy, that's right!", spoke Clefairy in a high-pitched tone.
"Drift loo-loon.", cried the Drifloon.
Everyone still around the courtyard looked ready to fight or defend themselves. All except Gar who had an expression crossed between agitation and exasperation. He sighed while putting a face to his hand.
Pulling it away he called out with cupped hands, "False alarm everyone! False alarm! It's just a bunch of idiots."
The two members of Team Freak paused at his words before exploding in a yell, "IDIOTS!?"
As the tension of fear and anxiety bleed out from the defending crowd, Izuku came up and in confusion asked Gar, "Wait for a second, do you know these guys, Gar?"
Gar sighs while pinching the bridge of his nose and admits, "Unfortunately. They're the dynamic duncery of Bonnie and Clyde and their sidekicks Clefairy and Drifloon. I've dealt with these guys many times before."
"He wasn't that Team Rocket's motto? Why are they using it?", Iida inquiries, upon realizing the similarities.
"Well-.", Gar tried to explain until he cut off.
"HEY! Don't ignore us! Fairy. We're threatening you! And it would be in your best interest to comply! Fairy.", yelled the Clefairy in demand.
Upon seeing the talking Pokémon, everyone stood there with blank expressions of shock. To which was followed up by Uraraka asking, "Back up. Am I high or is that Pokemon talking?"
"Yeah she sure is.", Gar confirmed with a nod. He then Snickers and says vexingly, "But it's not like it ever has anything worth saying."
"HEY!", yells Clefairy insulted.
"I'm still confused. I thought only intelligent Pokemon like Chatot and Psychic types could talk….and also Rotom when he's inside your phone.", Todoroki asks him.
Rotom pops out from his pants pocket and says in agreement, "She does have a point. Buzzt."
Gar pushes the chatty phone back inside and tells them, "Well, you remember when I told you that Humans and Pokemon are the same?", the small group nods. "Well the only reason we changed so much from regular Pokemon is because our brains mutated. We were able to make complex social structures, form civilizations, and most importantly of all engage in complex speech. So it's not so unreasonable to think a regular Pokémon's brain couldn't mutate once in a generation and it too could learn human speech.", Gar explained before putting a hand to his chin and thinking aloud, "I did hear a rumor of Team Rocket having a particularly chatty Meowth, but I never asked for obvious reasons."
As Gar was talking, the Team Freak duo were getting progressively angrier and angrier at being ignored, so Bonnie piped up and exclaimed, "Hello! We're still here!"
"Huh? Uh, yeah yeah yeah, that's great. Can you four wait till I get the exposition out of the way?", Gar waved them off dismissively.
Bonnie ground her teeth and stomped her foot she yelled, "Were the ones controlling this narrative! Not you!"
"Yeah, pay attention to us!", Clyde demanded while pointing a finger at them.
"Will you two stop yelling and just take action already! Fairy.", Clefairy yells at both of them in command.
This then escalates into the group arguing and yelling at one another, causing a collective sweat drop to go all around the courtyard. Everyone felt awkward and unaware of what to do or say except Gar.
The young man, who had experience with them, shook his head with a hand on it. He sighed loudly in an exasperated manner and said to his friends, "Like I said, their idiots."
This stopped Team Freak's bickering and they turned their ire back to Gar where they collectively yelled, "Quit calling us idiots!"
"Yeah! We didn't become top tier of Team Freak for nothing!", Clyde announced with pride.
"What does that mean?", Uraraka asked with a suspicious tone.
Turning to her and the others, Gar began saying, "You know how Team Freak has admins?", They all nodded as Gar continued. "Well, those admins have their group of grunts under their command. You can tell who belongs to who based on the style of their costumes. Though at the end of it all, all grunts are still under Bayo, and do as he says, despite what their admin leader tells them. Though this also extends to Bayo himself. He too has his small cadre of grunts. But they are what you might call the "Top Tier", they are the best of the best and hand-picked by Bayo and Bayo alone. They are pseudo admins, and as such there are very few of them.", He explained in full before pinching the bridge of his nose with a sigh and saying, "And for some reason…..those two dumb dumbs and their side kicks got chosen."
Clefairy turned red in the face and yelled at Gar while floating into the air, "I am NOT a sidekick! Fairy."
"So you've dealt with them.", Todoroki states in observation.
Gar looked at him with wide and exasperated eyes as he proclaims, "Dealt with them?! Psh! That's an understatement. I've beaten these guys so much it's become exasperating and pathic."
"PATHETIC!", they all yell in insulted fury.
"We'll show you who's pathetic after we show you the new might of our brand new Dark Type Pokemon!", Bonnie announces while taking out a Dusk Ball alongside Clyde.
"Well let's see 'em.", Gar prompts them uninterested.
Seeing his lack of interest and emotional reaction to them, the two people become enraged as they throw out their pokeballs, calling out their Pokemon for a fight!
"Go Corviknight.", Bonnie calls out.
"Go Zebstrika.", Clyde calls out.
Within moments two very different-looking Pokemon comes out. Zebstrika the Thunderbolt Pokemon, and Corviknight the Raven Pokemon. Both Pokemon looked ready and raring for a fight with Gar, who only looked at the Pokemon with a disinterested eyebrow raise.
"Ha! Whaddya think of that, Snorefield.", Clyde insulted him with a snood tone.
Gar raised his eyebrow towards him and replied, "I think you got better at your insults. It's a mile away from calling me Garfool.", at this, Iida had to do his best to repress a laugh that came out like a snort. "Don't encourage them.", Gar told him off with a stern but the aggravated tone, before turning back to the two high and mighty looking Team, telling them flat out, "Also, those aren't Dark Types."
Bonnie and Clyde both paused for a moment at his words before exploding at him in shock, "WHAT!?"
"You're lying! They're all black and menacing and stuff!", Clyde hurriedly tried to defend their case with fumbling words as Bonnie stood there in shock.
Gar rolls his eyes at his argument and tells him, "Just because a Pokemon is a certain color or has a certain expression on its face, doesn't mean it's that type. I know you two are at least smart enough to realize that Bonsly and Sudowoodo aren't Grass Types."
"They aren't?", they both ask in unison.
Gar's face controls and falls even more at his disappointment, saying under his breath, "I set the bar too high for you idiots."
"Even if they aren't Dark Types, they're still strong! And we're still gonna kick your ass with them!", Bonnie fights back, reinvigorating her team.
"Yeah! So surrender unless you wanna taste failure.", Clyde demands in a threat.
"Well I'm waiting to be served.", Gar chastised them while waving his hand towards himself.
The two people were a bit taken back by his nonchalant demeanor, finding it both strange and worrying. Though before they could think on it any longer than they did, Clefairy jumps in and yells at them, "Don't just stand there! Fairy. Attack!"
Bonnie and Clyde broke out of their stupor and commanded their Pokemon to attack the young man.
"Corviknight, use Steel Wing!", Bonnie commanded.
"Zebstrika, use Wild Charge!", Clyde commanded.
While Corviknight took to the air with its wings growing hard and Zebstrika enveloping its body with Electricity and charging forward, Gar looked on at the sight with a distant and disinterested stare. With little pep in his voice and even smaller amounts of intrigue, he threw out a Pokeball with a bored nonchalant attitude.
"Go Volcarona, use Heat Wave.", he said as the huge moth Pokemon appeared before the other two Pokemon.
Without a second to spare and no hesitation, the large bug engulfed its wings in fire, flapping hard, and sent the head straight towards its opponents! Both Pokemon were caught off guard and ended up getting sucked into the whirlwind of heat! Both were sent flying back before falling to the ground with singed bodies and swirls in their eyes! Both students in the courtyard and Team Freak stood there in shocked silence at what just happened, while Gar stood there with a placid and uncaring expression at his easy win.
Clefairy was the one to finally break the silence and yelled at Bonnie and Clyde, "Down in one hit, again!? Fairy. Can you two do anything?! Fairy. I thought you said these Pokemon were strong! Fairy."
Fully fed up with her, Bonnie grabbed the Pokemon up by her hair swirl and yelled back, "Oh shut up Clefairy! All you do is yabber and tell us what to do!"
Clyde joined in grabbing her cheek and saying, "Yeah, you're a Pokemon! Why don't you do the fighting for once!"
Clefairy looked confident at the challenge for a moment, until she looked back at her opponent. Volcarona had risen into the air, eye level with the group of nitwits, fire on his wings, eyebright, and intent, his siphon had protruded out and was pointing at her! All the color drained right out of the Pokémon's pink body upon seeing this sight and any fake confidence was shattered.
"I can't I-.", Clefairy stumbled about for an excuse before blabbering out, "S-Sprained my ankle."
Getting tired of waiting, Gar allied out in an impatient tone and asked, "Are you guys done bickering or are you gonna finally leave?"
Both Bonnie and Clyde dropped Clefairy as Bonnie stated boldly with a mischievous smile, "Oh don't you worry Gar. This is only the beginning of our onslaught!"
Both her and Clyde struck a seemingly menacing pose at her declaration alongside the nervous Clefairy and cheerful Drifloon.
Gar sacked his face and shot back, while casually commanding, "No it isn't, and I don't have time for this. Volcarona, use Hurricane."
Within a moment, Volcarona put out its fire and began to flap its six wings hard and fast, whipping up a catastrophic windstorm in seconds! Before Team Freak could react, they were suddenly launched up into the air and sent flying off with their unconscious Pokemon! As they fell off into the distance, they all expressed their displeasure.
"I can't believe we got beat again.", Bonnie moaned while hanging her head.
"I can't believe our new Pokemon lost so fast.", Clyde chimed in, seemingly used to the turn of events.
"I can't believe you two couldn't believe it in the first place! Fairy.", Clefairy yelled at both of them.
"Drifloon.", Drifloon added in.
"Looks like Team Freak is skulking off again!", all three of them yelled in unison as their voices faded off into the sky, leaving only behind a dark glimmer in their exit.
As the tension of Team Freak dissipated along with their voices, a sense of awkwardness set into the now anti-climatic area. People looked around and muttered to one another, wondering if this was all there was or if something else was to happen, but nothing did. Within a few minutes, the remaining students started to leave and the teachers went back into the school, unsure of what to do about this.
"Wow…..that was kinda lame.", Uraraka summed up what everyone was feeling or thinking.
"Told you.", Gar stated while shrugging his shoulders.
"Say Gar, they aren't gonna try and come back again. Are they?", Izuku prompted Gar with a nervous tick at the thought.
Gar sighed exasperated and told him before walking off towards the dorms, "Oh they will. It's only a matter of time. But for now, it'll be nothing but peace and quiet from those Mudbray. Or at least I hope so."
Yep here's the Jessie and James of Team Freak. I had a hard time figuring out what I should write for this chapter. Weather it should be going stright into the next arc or just a filler chapter. But now since writing it I have a plan in mind. I'm gonna write up one more filler and THEN get into the next arc. So thank for being patient, and I hope you liked it, Ill see you in the next one.
