Pokémon Trainer Hero
Chapter 89: A Deal with a Demon
Stain woke up, but he felt dead, or at least he really should be. The last thing he remembered before blacking out was the sky exploding into a sudden thunderstorm while the embodiment of thunder appeared and struck him with some divine fury. He felt pain and no pain at the same time. Just the mere act of opening his mouth made his skin flare up. He didn't even want to open his eyes, knowing it would hurt.
But curiosity took over as he quickly realized he wasn't in a prison cell as he should be. He could sense that there were two other people in the room with him, and above was a dimmed light. So at least he knew his captors weren't cruel and knew about his state of being. So he cracked his eyes open and gingerly brought his head to the side where he saw two figures sitting in chairs beside him.
Their bodies were cloaked in the darkness, unable to tell who or what they were. For a moment he thought he could make an escape plan, but that thought fell through right away when one of them saw him stir.
"Holy Palkia! He's awake! Hey! Get up!", The first person shouted at the second, who was asleep.
"Huh!? What!?", The second one woke up with a start while looking around.
"Get the boss! He's awake!", The first one yelled as the second one scampered off.
A door was thrust open and the person flew out while the first one stayed behind and injected something into his neck before leaving with the door closing behind him. Stain grunted at the needle being shoved into his neck and calmed himself before realizing that his pain had subsided almost immediately! He shifted a bit and realized the agonizing state of pain and no feeling was gone! He felt great! Well…as great as he felt now.
When he tried to sit up he found two things. First, his body was weak! So weak that the act of shifting about nearly knocked him out again, and the second was that he was bound to the bed he was laying on. Normally this would be no problem. Just take out one of his hidden blades and cut the binds. Unfortunately, he quickly found that his secret stash was very gone, alongside everything else! The only thing left was his clothes.
So he decided to lay there until someone else came. Luckily for him he didn't have to wait long as the door was opened once more and a smaller figure stood silhouetted in the lit area behind the doorway.
"Well well well. The Hero Killer, Stain. So good to see you finally awake. You were so battered up that I assumed you'd never awake again. I'm happy to see you already subverting my expectations.", The figure spoke in a young voice as Stain attempted to break free again. Only for the figure to close the door behind them leading to their silhouette being marked by the overhead light as they asked, "Oh? Were you looking for your toys? Well, don't you worry? The heroes managed to snag a majority of you. But when my boys busted you out on your road trip to Tartarus, we were sure to take the rest."
Stain quit resisting seeing that his body was far too weak to fight. So he looked to his captor and asked in a hoarse tone, "Who…..who are you?"
The figure seemed insulted and intrigued by the question as they exclaimed with chuckles, "Who am I? Who am I! Fu Fu Fu! You seriously don't know!? I've been the talk of the town for a while now!", Stain said nothing in return, being serious about his question. But the figure put a finger to their chin and told him, "But…then again…..the only reason I've gotten as much recognition as I have now is due to Gar-Gar blabbing about me to anyone who'll listen. Not that I'm complaining, it makes me feel special."
"So….who….are you?", Stain reiterated, The act of talking is taking a toll on his body.
Stain could almost feel the cold smile that they spread in the darkness, as they told him, "I've gone by many names over the years. But there's one I've grown to associate myself with. You may call me-.", They paused for a moment before coming into the dim light, revealing themselves and saying, "Banette!"
"You!", Stain realized who he was and expanded to himself, "You're the one who gave me that weird drug!"
Stain could once again feel the smoke behind the mask he wore and said with a happy tone, "So you do remember me? I'm glad. Also, how did my Recover drug work for you? Well I hope. I crafted it myself."
Stain licked his lips before speaking and asked, "Banette, was it?"
"Call me Bayo, everyone does.", Boy told him with a wave.
"Bayo….what do you want.", Stain asked as a statement instead of a question.
"Quite simple really. I want you!", Bayo exclaimed while leering over him.
Stain put on a sour expression and told him, "Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm not into children."
"Oh no no no! Not like that. I want you for a different reason.", Bayo waved off his accusation with a chuckle while Stain listened to his explanation, "I want you to work for me!"
"In case you don't know already-.", Stain tried to tell him.
"Yes yes, I know you're a lone Lycanroc type im quite aware. I'm young, not stupid. And I've done all my research on you!", Bayo told him with a roll of his eyes, coupled with a wave of his hand and a broad expression.
"Then why do you think I'll join you?", Stain asked him, more curious than irritated.
"No no no. Not join me, I said work for me!", Bayo corrected him.
"Work?", Stain repeated the word, fully not expecting it.
Bayo nods at his inquiry and told him, "Yes. As in, employer and employee. You take orders from me when and how I say. And if you don't, you're fired."
Stain narrows his eyes at the child and asks back, "Why should I? Give me one good reason?"
Bayo raised an eyebrow as he put on a devilish smile and asked him back, "Are you sure you should be asking that to the person who owns Pokemon. You know, the same creature's that wrecked you!", But Stain stayed firm in his resolve, making Bayo sigh and tell him, "But if you need a different reason. Then how about the fact that I am the one person with a backward ideology that Gar-Gar agrees with."
Stain's eyes went wide and he asked with haste, "Wait! What did you say!? Are we talking about the same Gar?"
"What do you think?", Bayo asked back, seeing that he took the bait.
"You're lying.", Stain tried to convince himself.
Bayo leaned into his face and asked, "Am I? What reason would I have to? I may want you, but I don't need you. I could get any psycho I wanted. You're not a one-in-a-million case.", Stain ground his teeth at this and Bayo leaned back a bit while explaining, "The man who picked apart and broke down your whole ideology, tells you of one man with such ideas and put them into fruition, and agreed with it on top of that, stands before you. And your first reaction is to assume I'm lying instead of immediately jumping on the bandwagon? Maybe you are just crazy and nothing else."
This time when Bayo leaned over him, he did so from the back of his head. Allowing the two of them to meet eye to eye. Stain looked into the boy's eyes, from all his time in the world he could tell a lot about someone from their eyes, especially if they were lying. But the longer and deeper he looked into his eyes the quicker he realized.
"You…. you're telling the truth.", Stain finally realized, going slack in the voice from the shock of it.
"There we go.", Bayo said back, feeling joy at his words convincing him.
Stain took a breath as he leaned away, feeling as though he was holding it in for a long time. Then put his resolve back up and asked him seriously, "Okay, I believe you. But as you said, you could have any psycho you want, why me?"
Bayo grew excited by the question and happily answered, "That's even simpler. I want you because you and I are somewhat of a kindred spirit. Sure many have an idea like yours, But you're the only one who ever put that idea into practice. I admire that tenacity!"
Stain did not look convinced by his reason and glared at him for much. To which Bayo followed up saying, "And besides that, you're dangerous.", Stain growled and glares at him as Bayo rolls his eyes and says nonchalantly, "Oh don't give me that look. You're an amoral hyper-violent delusional funny farm. Whether or not we share similar interests doesn't disturb the fact that you're still a murdering psychopath. You're a danger to society, yourself, and everyone around you."
Stain just glared at him now as Bayo tells him, "Having said that, I like people like you. Whenever I give you a job there's no doubt in my mind you'll always get it done! You're crazy but useful."
"So you want me….as a pet?", Stain sums up.
"EXACTLY!", Bayo yells excitedly in a manic way while jumping to stop him and staring right into his eyes. For what seemed like a second time in his life, Stain was scared, and scared of this child! Laying there helplessly, the only thing he could do was stare back into his crazed eyes and dare not to breathe. But Bayo pulled back and toned down the crazy as he explains, "Now we've established that you're a danger. So I can't just let you go Galvantula-ing off unattended. If a wild thing is just gonna be running around, I would rather have control over it."
Before Stain could speak, Bayo broke in and told him, "But I don't want to force it. Oh no no no! I want you to give me control!"
"Give you….control.", Stan says back, unsure of what he meant.
"Exactly! I want to see you tie the collar on and place the lead in my hand, all on your own! I don't and won't force you. You'll do it of your own free will.", Bayo told him with excitement while checking a fist in his face.
Stain grunts at this and asks him, "And let's say, despite everything, I refuse to accept. Then what?"
Bayo giggles and tells him, "Quite simple actually. I'll just have to break every bone in your body and dump you right onto the front door of Tartarus.", Stain's eyes went wide. He didn't know what he expected but it wasn't that. Bayo then sat at the edge of his feet and told him casually, "Oh sure, you'll heal, but you'll never be the same again. They'll never allow you physical therapy. You'll never have your body like it was! And if you get out, you won't be able to be the hero killer again. You'll just be some crazy guy."
Stain narrows his eyes at him as he asks, "And if I do join you."
Bayo gives a small giggle again before telling him, "Then none of that will happen. You'll get all the freedom and perks of the job and then some. There is just one tiny thing you'll have to do.", Bayo tells him in a sickly sweet voice while leaning over him.
Before he could ask what that was, Bayo leaned his whole body back before flinging it forward, right in Stain's face while grabbing it roughly as black shadowy tendrils point dangerously at his body! He then says in a near-demonic tone, "If you ever dare to go against me, I promise it'll be the last thing you ever do! So you only kill when I say so! Other than that, find a hobby or something. Am I clear?"
"Crystal.", Stain replied with a gulp while trying to remain calm as he states, "Having said that. How can I be sure you're the real deal."
Bayo pulls back and takes a far less dangerous approach as the tendrils recede into the darkness, telling him, "You want the structure of a society to change. So do I. The only difference is.", He paused for dramatic effect, "I made it happen once before. And I can Bibarel Damn do it again! But this time, it'll be different. Very very different! I'm going bigger!"
"How big?", Stain questions, forgetting his fear and feeling intrigue washing over him.
Bayo spins around, spreading his arms and proclaiming, "I'm talking about the whole world big! I realized that changing just one society won't cut it! This whole world has become toxic and it's all due to human nature. It all needs restructuring. Broken to the ground before building back up."
"And you think you can?", Stain questions his resolve.
Bayo turned back to him and exclaimed, "I know I can! I have a plan, and I know it'll work! It'll be a bit of a long con, but I'm already taking steps.", He then walks up to Stain and asks him in a calm yet forceful tone, "So? What's your final answer, Hero Killer?"
"And you say I'm crazy.", Stain tells him before looking away, smiling off to the side, and confirming, "What the hell. I'm in. What's first, boss?"
Stain can feel the wide smile under his mask as Bayo tells him, "First we have to get you back into fighting form. Can't have an overcooked rotisserie Combusken working for me.", He then puts a hand to his mouth and calls, "Oh Nurrrrrrse!"
A moment later and the door opens again and a strangely shaped figure waddles in. Once in the light, it looks like a pink Pokemon shaped like an egg. Although it looks friendly, the aura it gives off is anything but! It's almost like malicious intent radiates off it!
"Chansey.", The Pokemon says its name.
Bayo motions to the Pokemon and introduces it, "This here is Nurse Chansey, oops, I mean Nurse Dark Chansey. She'll be the one to bring your body back to form. But I warn you.", He quickly tells him after, "It'll hurt."
Stain quickly grew stressed, and he exclaimed, not even trying to hide his desperation, "What! I said I'll join you! I'll be your dog! Why are you doing this!?"
"Call it predetermination. Think of this as just a taste of what'll happen if you ever backstab me.", Bayo told him while shrugging, before telling him, "If you think this healing session is bad when I'm being nice, well then, you won't like to see me when I'm mad.", He croaked at him with a dangerous tone before turning back to Chansey and telling her, "Anyway, do your best, Nurse."
Chansey then rapidly nodded her head before whispering in a soft tone, "Chansey."
With that, Bayo left the room, closing the door behind him at the sight of Dark Chansey coming up on the terrified Hero Killer. Once Bayo was a few steps away, the last thing heard was pain-filled screaming of Stain.
Kirbo: *nods rapidly and whispers* Poyo.
Nurse Dark Chansey: *nods rapidly and whispers* Chansey.
Same energy.
