I know it has been a long time since I have updated this story or any of my other ones. I am working on them but have been stuck on a few things. I will try to do better. This chapter will be a little shorter then the others. Partially because I want to get something out and the other because I am at a point that the next section of the chapter if I concluded would make the chapter to long.

It had been two weeks since Eragon, Arya and their dragons had arrived at Farthem Dur. In that two weeks both Eragon and Arya had spoken to the Council of Elders. They explained the basic plan that they had been working on. When they found out Eragon was born human, some of them wanted him to swear fealty to the Varden. They were not happy when Eragon refussed and told them the riders would stay independent. Ajihad had backed him up bringing that discussion to an end.

They had not spoken to the dwarf clan leaders but King Hrothgar has informed them that most of the clans supported taking the war to the Empire. A couple believed that if they stayed out then Galatorix would leave them alone. Hrothgar pointed out that he had already planned on attacking them but the attack failed before it could take place because Eragon killed the shade Durza. They argued back that was because the Varden were here and when they leave then Galbatorix would not have any reason to attack the dwarfs.

Arya had heard from her mother and she would be traveling to take part in the meeting. They had also learned that King Orrin would also be arriving. The meeting was set to take place in another couple weeks.

Ajihad who was helping get the Varden army settled in Eastern part of Surda and would be traveling with King Orrin. They had spent the last week working on intergrating the two armies.

Eragon and Arya had worked on their friendship. They spent many nights talking. In these talks Eragon held nothing back about the friendship he had with Arya in the old timeline.

While they may have shared a bed when they first arrived it was decided to move into rooms just outside the dragon hold set aside for riders if they needed them. This was done when it was time for their elven guard to arrive. They were not mates nor close to it and did not want to give the impression other wise. Eragon agreed, though he would miss sleeping next to Arya. They were both happy to take things slow. So they just remain friends that cared a great deal about the other. Blodhgarm and his elven speelcaster who would make up Eragon and Ayra's guard took up several of the rooms next to theirs, with two on guard in the corridor the rooms were located.

While Eragon was sure he was already falling deeply in love with the Arya of this time. Arya was still struggling with her feelings. She knew she cared about Eragon but still refused to say she had started falling in love. Even if deep down she knew this.

Eragon, Arya and their Elven guard were waiting at the gate of the tunnel that lead to the Dwarf city of Tarnag. Queen Islanzadi and Lord Dathedr were due any minute. They had got word that the queen had entered the tunnels a couple days ago. King Orrin and Ajihad had arrived the day before and the meeting would take place the next day.

Eragon and Arya were standing with the dragons behind them and between two rows of their guard with another behind the dragons. Arya also was just a step back of Eragon as he was the Lord Rider even though Eragon told her she did not need to as he saw her more an equal but she would not listen. Blodhgarm and the elves had a quiet laugh during that argument but busted out laughing when Eragon muttered about stubborn elves and Arya gave a smirk of satisfaction in winning the argument. Orik was standing off to the side as King Hrothgar's representative.

After waiting about an hour Eragon and Arya finally saw a group of elves coming down the tunnel with Queen Islanzadi leading the group. They were both suprised when they saw Oromis walking on her left with Lord Dathedr on her right.

When the group arrived Eragon stepped forward and greeted Queen Islanzadi. Eragon started the elven greeting and finished with the third line be fore speaking. "Your Majesty welcome to Farthem Dur. King Hrothgar begs your forgiveness at not being able to meet you on your arrival as he had several last minute matters of state to take care of, so once the meeting took place he would be able to give it all his attention that the meeting is due. So may I present Orik, King Hrothgar's adopted son."

Orik also greeted the Queen like Eragon which surprised the elves. "On behalf of my king I welcome you Queen Islanzadi and the the elven people to the heart of the Dwarf kingdom. It is my king's hope that this rare meeting of all the races brings the races of this land closer and a better relationship between our two people. "

"Thank you Orik for your greeting and I look forward to building a stronger relationship with the dwarf people. May I present Lord Dathedr, who will be Arya's replacement as my ambassador. On my left is Oromis Elda a ride of old and his dragon Glaedr. I know you may have questions about them but it will be explained during the meeting." Islanzadi turn towards Eragon. "Lord Eragon it is a pleasure in meeting you as well. From what Oromis Elda has told me you every bit Brom son."

"Thank you your Majesty. I only wish I could have meet you as I had hoped a couple of months ago."

"It is of no matter Lord Eragon as you did what needed to be done to protect your family and friends. I understand ones need to protect family." replied the Queen.

"Now that the formalities are taken care of your Majesty I believe you would like to greet your daughter as I know she wishes to speak with you as well." This caused a look of surprise from Orik as Arya stepped forward to speak with her mother.

"We have much speak of Mother but it can wait till we are alone. I would only wish to welcome you and tell you how glad I am that you came for the meeting." greeted Arya.

"I will say this though my daughter. I am proud of you, not just for becoming a rider but all that you have done over the last 70 years." replied Islanzadi.

Eragon spoke knowing Arya would not want to reply at the moment. The last 70 years was a touchy subject to her. "Your Majesty, Wyrden and some of the others will escort you and your party to your quarters while here. King Hrothgar has arranged a feast in honor of all the leaders gathering for this great summit has he called it."

Islanzadi knew why Eragon interrupted. She could guess her daugh was not ready to discuss the last 70 years, especially in front of so many others. "Thank you Lord Eragon. Let us proceed."

With that the large party headed for the city of Tronjheim. Orik leading the way.

That night when Eragon entered his room after the feast he found he was not alone.

"I don't want to be alone tonight." Eragon knew she had talked to her mother before the feast and things seemed a little strain between the two by watching their actions towards the other during the feast. Arya had spent as much of the night as she could next to Eragon. Eragon got ready for bed and slid under the covers, Arya slide up next to him and laid her head on his shoulder and her had over his heart. Both feel asleep soon after.

A lone man in red armor walked down a dingy hallway that was lined with prison cells. When he reached the last one he looked in the window of the cell at an older woman sitting on her bunk. She looked up with sad eyes at the young man.

"Word has reach Galbatorix, he just learned that a meeting between the Dwarfs, Elves, Free Riders, the Varden and King Orrin is taking place. The Dwarfs are hosting it. Your youngest son is there and has something to do with the gathering. If it were not for the fact that he is bound to the last female dragon the King would have already ordered his death."

"Galbatorix's power is slipping. It is only a matter of time before he falls. I'm only sad I will not live to see it my son. I don't believe I will live much longer in this cell. At least I will know the Black King's days are numbered. You will need to chose. That day is coming sooner then you think."

The young man turned and marched back down the hallway.

I hope it is everything you wanted in the story as it continues. The big meeting will be in the next chapter. I am not 100% sure how it will go other then there will be some disagreements. As you can tell Eragon and Arya took a step back but something changed in the end. I might have answers in the next chapter.
