Chapter 51: Forbidden Dreamland
Skit 1: Dangerous Dreams
It's late at night in Vale and most of th city's inhabitants have turned in for the night. In one room, a slumbering Yukari sleeps, her mind lost in the realm of dreams. Nothing could wake her from her peaceful slumber. Not even the sound of a door opening to her room. In creeps Shion the Nightmare Hunter, silently tip-toeing closer to the sleeping girl in the bed. She looms over Yukari, her mind drifting for a moment.
"I can't believe I'm doing this," Shion shakes her head.
...Flashback begins...
"You want me to what?" Shion asks as she speaks with Winter Schnee at Beacon a few days earlier.
"I want you to use your semblance and dive into Yukari's dreams while she's asleep. Then, I want you to find any secrets or weaknesses of hers from that dream and report back to me about them," Winter explains.
"And what, pray tell, would be the purpose of me doing that?" Shion deadpans.
"To protect Voshie'ahk's purity, what else?! She is a smart, talented, and beautiful young woman. There are already guys swooning over her, and even some girls too. The only reason none of them have made a move on her is because they're afraid of Yukari and her brother, Khazhak. They all do want to live after all. However, Yukari is the biggest threat of them all. I need every advantage I can get over her in order to keep her from sullying Voshkie'ahk," Winter explains.
"And what do I get out of this?" Shion asks.
"I'll pay you twice what Ozpin's paying you for your classes here," Winter replies.
Shion sighs, "Fine, deal. But, you so owe me for this,"
...Flashback ends...
Back in the present, Shion activates her semblance and enters Yukari's dream. There, he finds herself among a forest of fabrics and materials. No doubt an aspect of Yukari's work as a fashion designer. She walks through the forest, looking for anything that could be what Winter is after. The designs are very well-made, just like in the real world. As Shion comes out of the fabric forest, she finds a small mansion standing before her.
"Perhaps this is where Yukari's heart dwells in her dream," Shion mutters before deciding to head inside.
She walks through the front door and immediately stops. Along the walls are portraits of Voshki'ahk, each one showing her smiling while in a different outfit. One of her in a formal dress. One in a made outfit. One in a gothic Lolita dress. One in a business outfit with a pencil skirt and glasses. The list goes on as Shion traverses the halls of the mansion. It appears to be much bigger on the inside than it was on the outside. Shion even noticed how the colors of the mansion match Voshkie'ahk's. This place might as well be a house of worship for Yukari's beloved. Which isn't too far from how she feels about her girlfriend in real life. Whenever she reaches a door and opens it, she finds the rooms inside filled with more portraits of Voshkie'ahk in other outfits.
However, when she opens the last door at the end of one hallway, she freezes in place.
"Oh, darling, you look beautiful whether in clothes or out of them. I wish you would rip me out of mine. How, I long for the day you ravish my body like the dragon queen you are and make me yours all over again," Yukari coos as she hugs a body-pillow version of Voshkie'ahk.
Both her and the body-pillow are in nightgowns in their respective colors, though the gowns appear to be... rather risque. Worse, all over the walls of the room are pictures of Voshkie'ahk in clothing that is... quite mature for someone her age. Not to mention the positions her body has in each picture. Once more, something that would be deemed too mature for younger audiences. Just as Yukari goes to kiss the body pillow, Shion uses her semblance and exits the dream. She finds herself back in the real world and sees Yukari still sleeping.
Shion shakes her head, "Yeah, there's no way Winter's going to beat THAT. What a nightmare,"
Skit 2: How do I Sing
In Team JNPR's room, Jaune is writing on a big chalkboard that he posted on a wall. He's also got papers stuck to the board with tape.
"Yes, this plan is full proof. I'll finally have my chance. Nothing can stop me now!" Jaune cheers.
"What are you doing this time?" Ren walks up and inspects the board.
"Ren, my friend, I'm finally gonna do it. I'm finally gonna get Weiss to notice me and be interested in going out on a date," Jaune's enthusiasm was sky-high right now.
"And just how exactly are you planning to do that?" Ren asks.
"Weiss is looking for a partner for a local singing competition in Vale. The competition is all about male-female duets showing their stuff. We all know that Weiss is the best singer in Beacon, and Vale, and everywhere else. Oh, she sounds just like a goddess-ah, sorry. But, she needs a partner to show her talents. And that's where I come in. I've been practicing every chance I get and now I'm gonna show my stuff. Once Weiss sees how good I've become, I know she'll ask me to be her partner. Think of it, we'll win the competition together, and we'll start spending more time together. And then she'll see that we were made for each other. It's perfect!" Jaune cheers.
"You say that, but if she's looking for a partner, then you won't be the only one looking to join her side. You'll have competition," Ren notes.
"It doesn't matter. Nothing will get in the way of my love for my Snow Angel!" Jaune remains unperturbed.
Ren just facepalms. This can't possibly end well.
...
At Beacon's amphitheater, Weiss sits at a table holding papers in her hand. She runs down the list of names of auditioners looking to become her singing partner. So far, the participants have been... Far below Weiss' standards. She will not except anyone but the best the school has to offer. Then again, students training to fight monsters don't usually take time to practice their singing skills.
"Alright, next," Weiss calls out the next auditioner. In walks Jaune who takes the stage. "...Next," Weiss deadpans.
"Wait, I didn't even start yet!"
"You tried singing to me when you asked me out to the dance. It was atrocious," Weiss says.
"Okay, I know that was bad, but I've been practicing. I swear. Look, I even left the guitar behind. Please, just let me show you how much I've improved!" Jaune begs.
Weiss sighs, "Ugh, fine. Just start,"
Jaune smiles and takes a breath.
The music starts and...
"Closed off from love I didn't need the pain.
Once or twice was enough and it was all in vain.
Time starts to pass before you know it you're frozen...
Oh, but something happened for the very first time with you.

Weiss did see that Jaune had improved, "...Maybe, but the auditions aren't over yet. Next," she says.
Jaune walks off the stage and in come Edom.
"Hah, Edom can't sing. His mask makes his voice too robotic for that. This is in the bag," Jaune is sure of his victory.
Edom hits a switch on his mask and takes a breath. He then snaps his fingers, and his skull phantoms appear behind him.
"...Ooh, I should've brought my love home, girl.
And baby I ain't perfect, you know.
The grind has got a tight hold.

All in attendance stare in shock and awe at his performance.
"You're hired!" Weiss chooses Edom, who bows.
"What? But-he-I-that was... But I practiced. Waaah!" Jaune falls to the ground crying.
Ren walks along and drags him back to their dorm room, "Guess it's back to the drawing board then," he says while Jaune continues to cry.
Skit 3: Disciplinary Committee
Khazhak, Porphyrius, Yatsuhashi, and Fox finds themselves in Professor Goodwitch's office. For what reason, they did not know. All they know is that said professor dragged them into her office without a single word. They can't help but feel like they were targeted for a very specific reason, and not a good one.
"Now then, do you all know why I have summoned you all here?" Professor Goodwitch asks.
"Um, if this is about Lloyd trying to prank Team CRDL by sicking some Beowolves on them last week, I just want you to know... I have nothing to do with that, and that Team CRDL deserved it," Khazhak says.
"Mr. Rairyu, we will discuss that at another time. The reason I have brought you all here is because I have received permission from Professor Ozpin to form a disciplinary committee here at Beacon and I want the four of you to become its first members," Goodwitch explains.
"Disciplinary committee? What is that for?" Yatsuhashi asks.
"The students at this school are supposed to be the protectors of humanity, but while many uphold the honor of such a title while at school, there are others who are not taking this seriously enough. Even breaking rules at our fair school. Rules are the foundation of a society, gentlemen. Without them, we are no different than the grimm. Your basic duty is to enforce school rules and policies. Any students that are violating these rules, you will deliver appropriate punishments. I want you to put the fear of the gods into them and make them understand their place here," Goodwitch explains.
"Okay, but if I can ask, what do we get out of this besides extra work and becoming enemies of a number of students at the school?" Porphyrius asks.
Goodwitch stares at them, "...Extra credit in my class and all you can eat buffet at the cafeteria for the next three months,"
"I'm in," Khazhak joins in; he won't pass up free food.
"Okay, I'll join," Fox adds, and Yatsuhashi nods.
"Okay, so, what's our first task as this committee of yours?" Porphyrius shrugs his shoulders.
...
Nora is attempting to drag another Beowolf onto the school grounds for another one of her "Ren, notice me" plans. However, as she pulls on its tail, Yatsuhashi arrives and picks the grimm up before throwing him as far as he can.
"WHAT?! I needed that!" Nora yells.
"No grimm on school grounds. Beacon rules," Yatsuhashi explains. "Anymore of this, Nora Valkyrie, and you will face punishment," he says before leaving.
"I can't get Ren to notice me. Isn't that punishment enough?!" Nora complains.
...
In another part of the school, Jaune stalks Weiss as she gets ready to study with Blake in the library. He brought his trusty guitar with him this time.
"Alright, time to wow Weiss with my music skills," Jaune gets ready to make his move before someone grabs his guitar and takes it away. "Hey, what's the big... idea?" Jaune trails off as he sees Khazhak as the culprit.
"Haven't you learned from the first time? No, well, no guitars or loud noises in the school library. School rules," Khazhak says.
"But-," Jaune begs, only for Khazhak to glare at him.
"Would you rather I shove you into your locker and shoot you into the Emerald Forest, and not have my teammates save you this time?" Khazhak threatens him.
Jaune shrinks back, "Uh, no thanks. I'm good," he squeaks.
"Good. Now beat it," Khazhak says and Jaune high tails it out of the library.
...
In one classroom, Yang is trying to stealthily play a game on her scroll will the teacher gives a lesson. However, Fox notices and sends her a text.
"Playing games in class on scrolls is against the rules. Turn it off now or I'll confiscate it", the text said.
Yang goes wide-eyed and glances at Fox, who's staring a hole through her. Yang sighs and puts the scroll away.
Meanwhile Porphyrius helps take out the trash, and by trash, he means Team CRDL by sending them to Goodwitch's office for punishment after they were caught trying to bully Velvet again. With the aid of the new Disciplinary Committee, law and order has been restored to Beacon.
And that's the chapter. For the one requesting the singing chapter, one: I prefer the original version of Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis, and two: those songs weren't really my cup of tea, so I had Edom sing something that's more up my alley.
