As he sat in his spot while doing his absolute best to ignore the snide remarks being aimed at him, Harry Potter was officially ready to snap very angrily at someone, given all the pent-up anger and frustration he's been building up inside him for the past few weeks.
Harry's life had just recently gone from good to absolute shit in a single day once his name came out of the Goblet of Fire, an ancient artifact used to select three champions – one from each large magical school in Europe – for the famous Triwizard Tournament that is currently taking place at Hogwarts this year. Everyone had been extremely happy to learn about it, but not him.
Okay, Harry had been extremely happy to learn the Triwizard Tournament was taking place at Hogwarts this year at one point with his fellow students, but when he found out the champion selection was going to happen on Halloween night, a day he dubbed as a curse day since his parents got killed in cold blood by Lord Voldemort, his happiness dried up like a flowing river stream as he came to a horrible realization.
Harry is going to be participated in the Triwizard Tournament against his own will and there was nothing he can do to stop it because once he enters, he cannot back out at all. This was due to a binding magical contract, a contract that will strip away his magic for all eternally if he chooses not to compete in all three dangerous tasks.
Also, Harry has a rather extreme case of bad omen and luck whenever Halloween comes once a year. It was as if he had been cursed by a deity or something to bring such bad omen and luck. He should not be getting into much trouble every single year at Hogwarts; it's absolutely ridiculous!
Can fate just be nice for once and give Harry a normal year at Hogwarts? A normal year without him being constantly dragged into danger?
Sadly, that desperate plea to be normal went completely ignored.
True to Harry's grim prediction, he had been picked as the fourth champion of the Triwizard Tournament against his own will when the champion selection happened on Halloween night and like he thought before, he cannot back out at all unless he wants his magic to be stripped away for all eternally the moment he doesn't compete in all three tasks.
This had been the downfall of Harry's life in Hogwarts.
The three large magical schools had not been very happy to learn there are four champions participating the Triwizard Tournament instead of three, especially the Beauxbatons champion, Fleur Delacour, who was so incredibly haughty, snobby and arrogant she insulted Harry while viewing him as if he was some sort of worthless peasant, which greatly angered him.
Harry vowed to show Delacour, the snobby bitch he's going to be calling her from now on, he has what it takes to be a champion, even if he still wasn't happy to be participating in the Triwizard Tournament since all he wanted was a normal year at Hogwarts without being dragged into danger.
Back to the current problem at hand. The three large magical schools were still not very happy to learn four champions are participating the Triwizard Tournament instead of three. They have decided to make Harry's life an official living hell as payback for cheating his way in, especially the Hufflepuffs since they finally got the chance to receive eternal glory, fame and attention, only to have it snatched away by him. This was deeply personal.
For the past few days in Hogwarts, Harry could never imagine how things would become extremely bad, due to being picked as the fourth champion of the Triwizard Tournament. He thought second year had been bad when he spoke Parseltongue during the dueling club, which led to him being an outcast for nearly an entire year until he managed to prove his innocence.
Harry had been very much wrong.
This year at Hogwarts was much worse and bad than second year.
Everywhere he went, Harry has been hexed, sneered, insulted, cursed, pranked, shunned and treated like trash by the students. The professors were only more interested in punishing him instead of putting an end to the bullying and hostility, which proves authority figures can never be trusted or rely on. They're just so useless.
Not once did Harry receive any support or help from anyone; all he has been receiving lately is nothing but scorn, hatred and resentment. He was also completely alone because he got kicked out of Gryffindor House for being in the spotlight every single year at Hogwarts. While he was deeply hurt and sad for getting kicked out the House he wanted to join like his parents, he was quite glad since he didn't have to worry about his stuff getting destroyed or burned.
More days passed by, and both the hostility and bullying became much worse than before, forcing Harry to isolate himself for his safety while dropping all his classes. He hated doing this as it makes him look like a pathetic coward, but at least he was able to raid not only the Hogwarts library, but also the Room of Requirement to acquire much knowledge as he needs to prepare himself for the upcoming tasks.
Harry had discovered the Room of Requirement by the House Elves when he went to have breakfast one day in the kitchens and since then, he felt immense gratitude at them for telling him about it. Without it, he would never be able to catch up to his fellow 'rivals' who had been probably lazing around the past few weeks since they were confident in their magic power, skills and talent.
Right now, Harry was currently sitting in a room with the other champions and judges while still doing his absolute best to ignore the snide remarks being aimed at him by the snobby bitch. He was here to take part of a wand weighing ceremony, which had been created when the Triwizard Tournament was first established centuries ago. It's traditional for all champions to have their wands checked out by a professional wandmaker to make sure they are still functioning properly without sustaining any damage or losing the bond.
Harry didn't really want to part take the wand weighing ceremony since he wanted to keep practicing magic in the Room of Requirement, but he has no choice unless he wants Aurors sweeping around inside Hogwarts to stumble across the very special room where he's been residing in lately after isolating himself from the students.
For his sake, Harry cannot let anyone discover the Room of Requirement, the place where he practices magic freely without being dragged down.
Unfortunately, going to the room where the wand weighing ceremony is taking place also meant Harry had to deal with the snobby bitch and her snide remarks. Honestly, couldn't she just for once shut her stupid mouth and leave him the hell alone? He did nothing at all to earn her ire. Hell, she doesn't even know him!
But to Harry's great dismay and frustration, the snobby bitch didn't heed his mentally plea of shutting her stupid mouth and kept throwing snide remarks at him throughout the wand weighing ceremony. It wasn't until a particular snide remark that caused everything to go very, very bad.
"You have no hope of surviving this tournament unscathed, little boy, so you might as well do us all a favor and give up before the tasks even start. You are going to lose, embarrassed yourself completely in front of the crowd who will laugh at your worthless attempts to get pass any obstacle we need to face and die. So, give up like I said before it's too late. Hogwarts cannot afford to see its youngest champion act like a fool."
All the pent-up anger and frustration inside Harry finally erupted like a volcano after hearing that snide remark. He was tired of everything that's been happening to him lately ever since his name came out of the Goblet of Fire. He was tired of the hostility, the bullying from both the students and professors and the extreme negativity he's been receiving. But most of all, he was tired of Delacour's snide remarks and her snobbish bitchy attitude.
Well, no more.
Harry has finally had enough of everything that's being happening to him lately. He was not going to let Delacour, the snobby bitch, get away with that snide remark of him giving up before the tasks even start. No, this was the last and final straw.
Harry was going to kill Delacour, and he will not give a damn about the consequences of his actions. It will be so worth it in the end.
With a snarl of absolute rage, Harry stood up, drew his wand from his robes, aimed it at the bitch who dared insult him ever since he became a champion on Halloween night against his own will and roared out the spell Professor Moody cast during the fourth year's first Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson with all the hate, anger and rage he can muster in his voice.
"AVADA KADAVRA!"
And done! That's the ending of the very first chapter of So Worth It! Harry has finally snapped after having enough of everything that's been happening lately to him after his name came out of the Goblet of Fire and casted the Killing Curse at Delacour. The judges and the other two champions are going to be very shocked.
Next chapter will be Harry facing the consequences of casting the Killing Curse at Delacour. Will he be able to prove his innocence, or will he get sent to Azkaban for casting one of the Unforgivables?
