World of Remnant:
Summer Solstice
Well, we've covered Winter and Spring. Now we are on Summer.
(A map of Remnant is shown once again)
The summer solstice is celebrated differently around the world through unique festivities and observances, like the famed gathering at the Great Falls in Mistral to watch the sun through the thousand-year-old monuments. Feasts, bonfires, picnics and traditional songs are a few other ways the change of season is honored.
(The camera zooms in on the map to show the waterfalls in Mistral where people are shown to be celebrating)
But if you really want to party the Summer Solstice, you'll find no better place than Vacuo.
(The camera then moves down to Vacuo show many people partying)
On the day of the Summer Solstice, the various tribes making up the Tribal Alliance of Vacuo gather together in Shade for a great feast. This feast comes from the foods and water gathered by the wandering nomad tribes of Vacuo and we all know the saying in Vacuo:
If you can survive here, you are welcome here
(People are shown partying on the streets, celebrating with food and drinks and enjoying many festive games)
The Tribal Alliances of Vacuo were formed due to the general Vacuan disdain for government authority and the only authority that is respected is with Shade Academy. Because of the weather being practically summer all year long, the Vacuans tend to party extra hard this time of year.
(Shade Academy is shown next, the classrooms lit with games and fun activity)
And who said Vacuo was a dull and dreary place?
(The camera then fades to black)

"Come on, people! We don't have much time!" Headmaster Theodore clapped his hands, urging his students to hurry making all the preparations.
It was always hectic this time of year trying to get Shade Academy ready for the Summer Solstice.
Team NDGO was among the top teams in the Academy, being the ones to organize and plan the events. The team leader, Nebula had lightly tanned skin, indigo hair brushed over to her left side and olive eyes. She wore a high-necked, tight-fitting gray shirt with dark gray accents, along with a long, lilac coat with one long sleeve with the other rolled up. She also wore a leather bandolier with a steel gray pauldron on the right shoulder, which also appears to hold her weapon.
She wore a slanted dark gray belt on the second notch alongside a breastplate that matched her pauldron. She wore gray pants with dark gray boots with light gray laces alongside dark gray forearm length gloves with the left glove being fingerless and having a cuff. She also had a dark gray band around her right elbow with a smaller band on her upper left arm. Confident, outgoing, adventurous and popular were the words to describe the leader of Team NDGO, Nebula lives everyday like it is her last, always taking chances and eager for new adventures.
Theodore was aware she had a troubled past but was glad to see she was able to make amends with it by bonding with her teammates.
Especially her partner Dew Gayl.
Dew was a young woman with lightly tanned skin, dirty blonde hair swept to the left, and violet eyes. She wore a sleeveless green dress with an asymmetrical hem, what appears to be golden scale one-sleeved high neck top underneath her dress, a lighter green sarong tied around her hips, and a golden spaulder. Two thin chains looped run from the front of her spaulder and around her torso to the back. She also wore a pair of over-the-knee scale stockings, armored calf-high boots that match her spaulder though the rear of her calves is exposed and a simple chain bracelet with a ring connected to it on her right hand as well as a brown band around her left wrist with two beaded bracelets.
Dew Gayl was quite good natured and naïve for a Vacuan, so much that many people considered her an airhead but there was a reason for this. Unlike most children in Vacuo, Dew had been born into a wealthy family and had lived a sheltered life from the rest of Vacuo. When she got older, she became curious and desired to see the outside world but her parents wouldn't let her, saying it was too dangerous. Miffed by her parent's overprotectiveness, Dew decided to prove them wrong which had almost proved disastrous for her.
Her inexperience with the outside world nearly got her killed or worse but she managed to unlock her Semblance, saving her from bodily harm.
It couldn't protect her from her parents, though.
Eventually, after a long discussion and Dew whining, they conceded and let her attend Oscuro Combat School. They were worried at first because her Semblance works like no one else in her family. The closest person they could think of with one like Dew's was a cousin on her mom's side of the family, but he died during a mission in Atlas in a hotel when Dew was young. Luckily Dew got help from her teachers, so they didn't have to worry.
As for her social life, it was another story.
Dew became partners with Nebula Violette, who couldn't stand her and drove her crazy with her naivety, misunderstanding of social cues, short attention span, wealthy background, genuine caring parents, and just about everything about Dew. On the other hand, she was the first to follow her when she had one of her 'adventures'. Eventually, Nebula came to terms with Dew's nature and her jealousy. Speaking of drama, Dew realized that despite getting along with each of her teammates on their own.
The three of them despised each other, often getting into heated arguments and do not get along whatsoever.
With a rather over-complicated scheme to bring her team together, they decided to try and get along for Dew's sake and keep her out of trouble and so she doesn't lose her head to any more of her ideas. Theodore was quite pleased with how Dew could bring her team together. It is was important to be strong in Vacuo but trying to take on the world was just stupid, even for a Vacuan.
In fact, half the school activities had been planned by Dew and she was pretty much running the entire event with Nebula there to scare everyone into carrying out her partner's instructions.
"Come on, get that banner up! It's not that hard!" Theodore stifled a chuckle when Nebula's voice could be heard across from the main hall. "Gwen, if those idiots don't have that banner up in ten seconds, you can stick knives up their lazy butts and see if that will make them move faster!"
"I am not dirtying my knives like that, Nebula. Just shoot them with your arrows."
"I am not wasting ammo!"
Then there was Gwen Dracy.
Gwen was a young female with lightly tanned skin, curly black hair pulled back from her face into ringlets, and brown eyes with purple eye shadow. She wore a black corset dress with a dark gray front, purple hem and purple laces on the back. Underneath she wore a light gray top with short sleeves and black cuffs. Her top also had a high gray collar that appears to be armored.
Her belt was a long purple ribbon edged in gray, with a bow in the back and tied in the front and connected to the belt are a pair of armor tassets that also act as storage for her weapon. She also wore light gray stockings and pale gray ballet flats, with ribbons around her lower legs. Where Nebula was the leader, and Dew could be considered the heart, Gwen could be considered the brains. Born to a pair of Huntsman, Gwen was top of her class in Shade Academy which might be way she was put on Team NDGO in an attempt to balance the naivety of her partner along with the aggressiveness of her leader and teammate but unfortunately Mistral wasn't built in a day.
And finally, there was Gwen's partner, Octavia Ember.
Octavia was a young woman with fair/lightly tanned skin, brick red hair left loose with swept fringe to the right and olive-green eyes. She wore a teal blue waistcoat with two long tails and dark brown strapless top. A cropped sleeveless vest of the same color was worn over the top and waistcoat. Her skirt was pale green graduates to a cream with a zigzagged pointed hem accompanied with an open front layer that graduates from brown to light brown.
She wore a pair of navy belts crossed in the front and back and a pair of sky blue layered spaulders, held in place by a dark brown leather strap across her chest. Her shoes were a pair of simple, navy blue ankle boots with folded over top and brick red lining. She also had a navy blue chocker over her neck to complete the look.
Even for a Vacuan, Octavio is cold, rude and blunt, being the aggressive wild card of Team NDGO and total opposite of her partner Gwen. She is by nature hostile to everyone she meets for the first time, so it is a real challenge to get her to open up and be cordial with anyone, even her own teammates but it is worth the effort.
"Watch where you're going, Gwen!"
"About you watch, Ember! And watch it with the sword or you'll burn us to death!"
"Or maybe I'll just burn you!"
Well, they were trying.
Theodore sighed he turned away, content to leave Team NDGO in charge of setting up the fest for tonight.
The Headmaster of Shade Academy returned to his office, shutting the door when he was sure no one was looking.
"Headmaster."
Inside the office waiting for was Xanthe Rumple, the deputy Headmistress of Shade Academy.
"Is she ready?" Theodore asked with a serious expression.
"As ready as she'll ever be." Rumple said softly.
Theodore nodded and walked over to the nearest wall. Lining the wall were picture frames of various people:
Professor Ozpin
Professor Leonardo Lionheart
General James Ironwood
A little girl with a dog.
Theodore moved the picture of the girl aside, revealing a hidden switch that he grabbed and pulled. The wall shifted and split open, revealing a secret door. The Headmaster entered, followed by Xantha who held out a lamp as they walked down a flight of stairs and came down to a dark tunnel with torches lining the walls. The pair walked down the tunnel until they came upon a door and Theodore pulled out a key, inserting it into the lock and slowly opened the door.
Inside was a fairly sized and furnished room with a bed, a couch with some chairs, a table with a Scroll projecting an image of the latest Blitzball Game and watching the game were a pair of girls. The first was a young girl with tanned skin, short brown hair and equally brown eyes, wearing a purple cloak that was wrapped around her body.
The second was another girl who was older with long black hair, pink star earrings, and brown eyes. She wore a grey, zippered shirt under a black vest, and a studded belt around her black skirt. She had a red belt wrapped around her left arm, and two around her ankles. Finally she wore black boots and knee-high stockings.
The girls turned around at the sound of the door opening and the younger girl made a big smile at the sight of the man. "Daddy!"
She ran over and hugged Theodore who happily hugged her back. "Hey there my little pebble! Have you been good?"
"Uh-huh!" The girl nodded happily. "I was having fun with big sis Skuld!"
The girl in question stood up and smiled. "We've had the best of fun as we could."
"Well, for that you'll be getting a special treat." Theodore smiled down at the girl. "You want to go out and see the Summer Solstice Festival?"
"YEAH!" The girl nodded rapidly with a big smile on her face.
"Well, then let's go out and see it all. Just remember to keep the cloak on." Theodore instructed, pulling the cloak over the girl's face. "And stay close to Skuld if you lost sight of me or Rumple."
"Okay, Daddy." The girl said, holding her father's hand with one while grabbing onto the hand of the girl named Skuld with the other. "I promise."
Theodore then looked at Skuld with a smile. "Thank you for watching her."
Skuld nodded happily. "There's no need to thank me, Professor. Thank you for letting me stay."
Author's Note: I wish to note that the character histories for Team NDGO were changed and are now following the character templates made for them by an author named AutoHunterJ94 who has given me permission to use these templates in my own story while being given full credit just so that there is misunderstanding.
