Chapter 6: Bond
Wave's Safety House
A fairly muscular young man of above-average height with short, dark blue hair with a cowlick and blue iris eyes. He wears a blue leather jacket and a red scarf with an anchor on it. The scarf is said to be his symbol of justice. Under that is a white shirt with a single blue line down the middle. He also wears a pair of grey jeans with a belt and dark blue boots.
He was a former member of the Jaegars group- a force of protection for the Empire during its last days and while most of its roster was heinous, there were some decent people such as himself. He left in order to protect his lover and fellow teammate, Kurome, the sister of Akame. She would give medicine to her on a constant basis to counteract the drugs given to her by the Empire to boost her durability at the cost of intense pain if she ever stopped taking it. She had taken lives, but was allowed to live on the mercy of her sister, but also due to being brainwashed while not as significant a political figure as the Emperor.
It was normally peaceful at this house provided by the new government to keep both from being discovered, but today...
"What is it, Wave?," asked a young girl with has short, black hair in a twin-tail style and black iris eyes. She wears a black sailor uniform and wears a red belt that has a red side skirt cover like Akame's, with long, black socks and shoes. Her shirt is slightly too short as it doesn't cover her belly button at times.
He scowled at the guests- a man with stitches on his body and prominent nails on his neck dressed in purple baggy pants. He was accompanied by similarly dressed individuals. He had black sclera eyes and blackened teeth.
"Hey. Hey. Don't make this a fuss. We just intend to have fun with her.," said the leader as he lecherously licked his lips.
"You're not from around here.," Wave noted.
"Yeah. We're tasked to eliminate all threats to our invasion.," said the man.
Wave immediately took a battle stance and pulled out his Teigu. While Najenda had advised against it, Wave couldn't part ways with Grand Chariot, his Teigu along with his fallen friend's Teigu, Mastema.
"Ahhhhhhhh.," yelled a half-enthusiastic youth as he was kicked into the middle of the two. He got up and looked around.
"Stein. What're you doing here?" asked the young.
"I don't know you!" Stein barked unconvincingly.
"Wait, I saw your picture. Tako right? You with the Revolutionary boss? I'm surprised you're here...," Wave said before pausing and noticing how oddly casual he seemed amongst these invaders.
"How do you know this guy?" asked the young man.
The youth then looked at Wave, with a psychotic stare that told him all he needed to know.
"You're a spy?," he asked as he signaled Kurome to go back inside as she gave a concerned look.
"I know I shouldn't do this, but you're all but doomed now.," Tako replied, which made Wave's hair stand on end.
I've finally figured what's off- it's like a Super Class Danger Beast...in human form!, thought Wave as he was thwacked by something too fast to see.
"Well, that's that. Now then...," Tako said as he lecherously licked and prepared to enter the house.
Wave got up and grabbed Tako's shoulder.
"Don't you dare...," he said.
"She's a sinner. She could've slit her throat and be done with it to avoid sin. She's hellbound. Associating with her will mean you're hellbound too.," said the young man.
"I don't care. Heaven- Hell. I don't know if they exist, but I'd be less of a man if I abandoned our bonds!," Wave replied.
"That's so cookie-cutter an answer. Die.," said Tako as he generated tentacles from his shoulders to scar Wave.
"Wave!," Kurome cried.
Stein and his men grabbed her and began to tear off her clothes.
Wave enraged, was about to lunge at them, but was coiled by Tako.
"I'll join next!," Tako said before noticing a large cloaked figure.
"Oi. Don't get in the way of the fun, shithead-," the boy said before being kicked away into the distance kilometers away as Wave fell to the ground.
"If you weren't a lad. I'd be feeling guilty.," noted the figure.
"Who are you bastard-," said one of Stein's men before being punched so hard his head was squashed into an unrecognizable pile of organs and blood to Kurome's shock.
He then proceeded to grab the leg of the deceased man and thwack the rest of the men to split them in half. Stein managed to get away as the man carried Kurome to a chair and removed his cloak to cover her.
Wave was shocked to see the "man" was an avian humanoid with black sunglasses covering his eyes, a bald gray bird head, and covered in black biomechanical metallic armor. Two wings made of what appeared to be darkness emerged from his shoulder blade. He was easily as tall as Susanoo.
Tako emerged back with two disproportionately muscular arms. His "tentacles" weren't tentacles, but actually tightened seaweed.
What the hell?, thought Wave.
"Necron. Don't think because you're royalty that you can defy Sola-Flor! I'll kill ya!" the boy screamed.
"Sola-Flor?," asked Wave.
"It is forbidden for Evil Beings to kill each other. We are better than mere humans.," Necron said before noticing Stein generating electricity in his bolts.
"Let's see if you-," he said before Necron squashed him under his foot like a gnat to Kurome and Wave's shock.
Necron then glared at Tako, which caused the latter to quiver and shake.
"Y-you do whatever. Just know that you're gonna get an earful!," the boy said as he dashed away.
"That goes for you as well.," said the bird as he looked far away.
"Tch. He's picked me up.," said a mysterious figure hiding in the mountains as he left.
Necron then turned to Wave as he said-
"I'll choose where I will kill you. Do not be concerned. I intend to not involve women and children."
Wave gulped as he looked at Kurome.
"So this had an ulterior motive. Fine then. But thanks for helping with Kurome.," he replied.
Necron then touched the ground as it was enveloped in darkness, causing Kurome and Wave to sink into it.
Necro proceeded to sink into the darkness as well.
The house was now empty.
Capital
"What are you?," asked a dark-skinned woman holding the ax teigu, Belvaac, before she was stomped by a tall wooly mammoth humanoid dressed in an armored suit. The invaders had since uncloaked themselves as they commenced manslaughter of all of the invading forces. They all wore black bio-mechanical attire.
"They've wiped out all of the Teigu users!," cried one of the men.
"Wanna go after them?" asked a green-haired woman with a curvaceous body with tree-like arms. She wore a black tube top and baggy pants.
"No. It's a waste of time to go after the weak.," said a bulky mecha with apparent sapience and a single orange eye.
"You sure they're Teigu users? They seemed to have gotten less competent compared to the original generation.," the mammoth said in a vaguely feminine voice as they took a syringe of a liquid and shot themselves with it.
"We're ones to talk. Our generation isn't as grand as the one a millennium ago.," said a blonde young man with blue sclera eyes with a buzzcut hairstyle as he held a squirrel girl with a microphone and a masked man in either hand. He then proceeded to electrocute them to cinders.
"Necron's gonna give you an earful for killing a girl.," said the mammoth.
"He's too soft.," the blonde argued before seeing a pale-blonde man in priestly attire approach.
He saw the genocide but noticed that the civilians were untouched but very traumatized.
"You're killers, but you're not entirely repugnant.," the Lord observed.
"As if we would talk to a pacifist coward-," said the blonde before the leader interjected.
"We're out of time and patience. We need what your people have kept from us for centuries. And you're our natural enemy, so we're obligated to kill you people. Especially, a dual-blooded one like you. I would just submit.," said the apparent boss- an average-sized cloaked figure covered in bandages obscuring their eye except for their bright blue and red heterochroma eyes. And a mess of wild black hair reaching down to the base of the cloak.
"I never thought I'd see Evil Beings capable of civil conversation let alone close to human size before.," said the Lord as he gave a reluctant look as he knew that one of his men would try to protect him.
"Bossman. Don't get yourself in trouble like this. We got this-," said a plump man about to throw the Big Leaguer before being impaled by the massive spider leg of a gray-haired girl with two braids in front with a long braid in the back.
"Silence, human.," she said in a bored tone.
The Lord looked away out of guilt.
"Now, then. You must know where we can find-," said the leader before Najenda appeared.
"So you're Evil Beings? You've caused quite the ruckus.," the woman noted as she looked at the carcasses of her friends in both sadness and contempt.
"What can you do? You're unarmed.," the leader noted.
"In one way yeah, but-," she said as she attempted to use Erastone before noticing the tight threads on her sole arm emerging from the spider legs protruding from the gray-haired girl's back.
The strings pulled tightly as Najenda felt like it would be torn apart before seeing a familiar face fly down.
The black-clad individuals were shocked.
"The tyrant?," asked the leader.
"Tatsumi. Sorry, but it looks like it was a setup. We're trapped on both sides and it's too late to call them to help us.," Najenda acknowledged.
Tatsumi lunged at the leader only to be blocked by blades.
He looked to see wearing a black obi, a bandaged humanoid with wide black sclera eyes and red irises. Sword hilts protruded from every inch of his body.
"We'll keep you busy till everything's over.," he said with a sinister tone of voice.
"Keep you busy?," asked Najenda before realizing.
"They've split their groups!," she screamed.
Underneath the Capital
Four figures were walking down a dark and damp corridor.
"This place feels evil.," said a light-blue-haired woman wearing a black bra and long skirt.
"But we're Evil Beings, Whala.," said a burly, demonic-looking fellow with large bat wings, long horns pointing back, red eyes, yellow fangs, a crude beakish protrusion on the upper jaw instead of a nose, clawed hands, and black pants while topless.
"I know. I know, Diabolo. It's just that this place was rotting metaphorically for centuries," the woman replied.
"But this is needed for our survival.," said the demon before noticing a figure standing in their way.
It was Free who was ready to fight.
"So you're trying to stop us? For some reason, you remind me of someone that really pisses me off.," said the demon.
"Regardless, your plan won't work. For I have taken contingencies against this situation.," replied the man.
"We've divided and conquered. Your allies are busy with our classmates. What can you do?" asked the demon
"I can stall you till someone troublesome can take my place.," replied Free.
"That won't happen.," said a deep voice coming from a muscular individual appearing behind Free.
He was tall, bigger than the former general, Budo, with a smooth goldened featureless chrome mask covering the upper part of his face, and wore a sleeveless black shirt and baggy pants. He had a leonine tail, long blue hair emerging from the back of the helmet, and purple skin to indicate he wasn't human.
"Monstrosity.," said the light-blue-haired one.
Beside him was an eldritch humanoid with a black cape made of bio-mechanical material, a bald exposed gray head with black sclera eyes with pink pupils, and the occasional tendril emerging out from the cloak.
"Enigma. Abyss. Go on ahead.," said the masked being as the two floated in that direction.
Free pulled out a wand Teigu with an emerald at the end of the staff. It generated a barrier, which prevented them from going further.
"I won't let you go and interfere with what I've worked so hard to accomplish.," Free said.
Abyss was undeterred as it collided with the barrier- absorbing it into its void as it went on ahead.
Free scowled as Diabolo proceeded to pin him down and the others continued ahead.
The gray-haired man began to snarl as his face began to peel from the center.
"You...brats...," he said as he got up.
"You're-," said Diabolo as he was pushed away by the man as he proceeded to leave to join the others.
This is definitely that bastard., he thought as he left as the man began to transform in sheer frustration.
Mu Ruins
Viper continued to constrict Murasaki as Leone landed punches on the Gila Monster woman- only to be grabbed by her hand.
"Did you know that Gruesome Gilas have fibers in their claws to hold tight to prey and it allows poison to seep through? Now you're-," the woman gloated before Leone bit into her neck.
"You bitch!," the woman said as she tried kicking the leonine woman away.
"Nah. I'm good. Would kill you normally, but you need to just- REST UP!," she said as she headbutted the woman so hard it caused her eyes to roll into the back of her head as she fell down.
"These guys are kinda tough.," the assassin acknowledged before turning her attention to Murasaki.
"Oops. I gotta squeeze her enough to knock her out. There are a lot of beauties around to spend the time.," he said.
"What's going on here?," asked a soldier accompanied by another emerging from one of the building.
"We were patrolling in case of danger beasts." said the other.
This made Murasaki wake up as she partially recognized the men from her Esdeath half.
"Tch. I might not be able to kill my own kin, but I can at least-," he said as he extended his tongue to the shock of the others.
The two men were skewered by the tongue to the shock of those present.
"Ha. They're going to Hell when they die!," he gloated.
Surprisingly, this was enough for Murasaki to pull out of the grasp as the snake fired a poison sphere, which froze in place.
She then caught the snake in a grasp as he struggled to break free even as he entered into an armored form. He then passed out.
Murasaki then landed, got his flag, and walked away.
I didn't care when I used my Trump Card. They're interesting, but it's ultimately about what I want. It must be her doing this., she thought in Esdeath's voice.
"Let's get this over with.," she said as she generated another winged creature for the group to ride on.
Leone gave her a hesitant but meaningful look as she got as did the others with Laggie dragging an unconscious Yomihime.
Center Ruins
Elm, Dorina, the oni-faced ninja, and Suzuka were all sitting in a space that was heavily implied to be the former throne room. The walls once covered by ancient deities were now covered by the flags.
They then sensed a powerful energy coming from a certain direction, causing them to be briefly shocked.
"So this is one of the places he does his sick hobbies in?" asked the oni-faced ninja.
"So that's the secret behind all of this.," the black-haired woman said.
"It's not something we'd prefer to take, but it weakened our enemies as we lack the might of the Great One, but soon that will change for the better.," said the oni-faced ninja.
"Those guys should be finding THEM soon.," noted Dorina.
Elm then turned to see Murasaki's group arriving.
They were as shocked by the presence.
"What the hell's going on?," asked Leone.
"Anything you do now will be rendered meaningless. So enjoy this bout while you can.," said Elm as they prepared a battle stance.
"Yeah, my boss says it's a bad habit of mine.," Leone said.
"Wait, you're not intending to-," asked Laggie.
"It's not something you should be worrying about right now.," said the ninja before his strike was blocked by an awakened Yomihime.
"I wanna touch some lucky rabbit feet.," Suzuka said as she clung to Laggie's right leg and began to lick much to her disgust.
Dorina lunged and pulled from her spine a black wizard staff with an old man's head at the other end. She struck Leone with it.
"Sorry, but now we're holding you here.," said the girl to Leone.
Elm faced Murasaki.
"Having concerns?," asked the being.
Murasaki looked pensive.
"Treachery is something one normally doesn't think about at first, but over time, it causes one to lament one's failings born of turning against them and not finding common ground. Because of the bonds they built beforehand..," they continued to speak.
"Trying to lecture me?," asked Murasaki before sensing an intense sense of killing intent from Elm.
"I'm aware of how you're actually two in one. The fact you turned on your bonds is reprehensible even to Evil Beings. Especially killing the ones you grew up with, having no loyalty. How long will you stick with them till you're fed up-," said the Evil Being before finally Murasaki lunged at them, generating a katana and rapier to strike them, but was blocked by their heavy arms.
"You talk too much.," said Murasaki in a dual voice of Akame/Esdeath with an expression of contempt and annoyance as she
"I'm saying you should stop acting like you have some sort of superiority in both power and morals.," said Elm as they kicked Murasaki away.
"Regardless, you'll be taken down as a tribute to the Great One. The reason your Teigu and the Meihou exist.," the being added.
"So this plan is-," Murasaki noted.
"The resurrection of the Great One and the retrieval of the ones to give birth to his heirs.," replied Elm.
Next Chapter: The Great One- Murasaki is presented with the uncomfortable truths about her existence.
Author Notes: The Evil Beings continue to be presented with their own characterizations to make them stand out. I didn't bother giving characterizations to the anomyous Teigu users because they were going to be fodder anyway. Wave is going to have his part to play later.
