Chapter 20: Peace at Last

In the tranquil setting of Tenerife, Sebastian and Roberta had finally found the peace they had been searching for. The chaos and bloodshed of Roanapur were now distant memories, replaced by the calm waves and gentle breezes of their new island home. Two years had passed since they had left behind their old lives, and every day had brought them closer together, healing wounds both physical and emotional.

Sebastian had long known that their life together would be one of rebuilding, but he hadn't anticipated the joy that would come with it. One sunny afternoon, as they relaxed on the veranda of their seaside home, Sebastian turned to Roberta, his face breaking into a wide smile. He took her hand gently, his voice trembling with emotion as he said, "Roberta, I have something to tell you."

Roberta, sensing his excitement, smiled back at him, her heart racing. "What is it, Sebastian?"

"You're pregnant," he said, his voice thick with joy. "And not just with one, but with twins."

Roberta's eyes filled with tears of happiness as she processed the news. She threw her arms around Sebastian, holding him tightly. "Twins," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "We're going to have twins."

Their bond, forged in the fires of Roanapur, grew stronger every day. The darkness of their past had not been forgotten, but it had been replaced by the light of their future. They spent their days planning for their children's arrival, choosing names, and dreaming of the life they would build together as a family.

But one afternoon, as they were preparing to go for a walk along the beach, the tranquility of their new life was shattered by the sound of an approaching vehicle. Sebastian's instincts, honed by years of combat, kicked in immediately. He grabbed Roberta's hand, his voice firm but calm. "Roberta, go to the panic room. Take this," he said, handing her a Beretta F92. "I'll handle this."

Roberta looked at him, her eyes wide with fear, but she trusted him completely. She took the gun, kissed him, and whispered, "Be careful."

Sebastian watched her disappear into the panic room before grabbing his FN Five-seveN and heading to the front door. His heart pounded in his chest as he prepared for the worst, but when the black jeep came into view, his tension melted away. A woman with beautiful blonde hair and a snow-white summer dress stepped out of the vehicle, her face breaking into a smile as she saw him.

It was Balalaika—no, it was Sofia Pavlovna , as she corrected him with a soft laugh when she reached him. "Were you already prepared for the worst, Sebastian?" she teased, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

Sebastian couldn't help but grin back at her. "You can never be too prepared," he replied, still catching his breath from the adrenaline rush.

Sofia ran up to him, her hands cupping his face as she kissed him passionately. "I've missed you," she whispered against his lips. "I couldn't stay in Roanapur without you. I tried, but it felt like I was leaving a part of my soul behind."

Sebastian, overwhelmed with emotion, pulled her close, resting his forehead against hers. "You have no idea how happy I am to see you, Sofia."

Balalaika smiled, glancing around as Roberta cautiously emerged from the panic room, her gun lowered but still in hand. "Roberta, you can put that away. We're among friends," Balalaika said warmly.

Roberta, still shocked by the sudden appearance of Balalaika, nodded and placed the gun on a nearby table. "I didn't expect to see you here, Balalaika."

"Please," Sofia corrected gently, "my name is really Sofia Pavlovna Irinovskaya. I've left my old life behind. After you two left Roanapur, I couldn't stay there anymore. I made sure that everything was in order at the Moscow Hotel, and after many meetings with the men at first they protested but after a while we decided on the new leader and finally they agreed to move on without me. and the leadership was handed over to Boris, and now... I'm here."

Sebastian, unable to hold back his emotions, felt tears welling up in his eyes. He had always been strong, always been the one to keep it together, but seeing Sofia here, with Roberta, completing the circle of his life, was too much.

"You have no idea how much this means to me," he said, his voice cracking with emotion. "I thought I'd lost you forever."

Roberta, seeing the raw emotion in Sebastian's eyes, gently pushed him towards Sofia. "Go on, Sebastian. Tell her how you feel."

Before Sebastian could say another word, Sofia grabbed his collar, pulling him into another passionate kiss. "I hope you're ready for this, Sebastian," she whispered, her voice filled with playful mischief. "Because I'm not letting you go again. We're going to be together—forever."

As the three of them stood there, lost in the moment, the sound of another car door opening interrupted them. Rock and Revy stepped out of the jeep, Revy's face flushed with embarrassment. "You leave me alone for three minutes, and you're already turning this place into a soap opera," she muttered, trying to hide her smile.

"Revy," Sebastian said, stepping forward to embrace her. "It's good to see you again."

"Yeah, yeah," Revy said, hugging him back. "You too, you big-hearted fool."

After the joyful reunion, they all made their way to the beach, where they sat in the sand, watching the sun set over the horizon. Rock and Revy told them about their own lives since they had left Roanapur, about how their relationship had grown stronger. They shared stories, laughter, and memories, enjoying the simple pleasure of being together.

As the night wore on, and the alcohol began to take effect, Rock and Revy finally retired to the guest room. Sebastian, Sofia, and Roberta remained on the beach, the gentle waves lapping at their feet. Sofia and Roberta looked at each other, a silent understanding passing between them. This was their new life, their new beginning, and they were ready to embrace it together.

As the moonlight bathed the peaceful beach in a soft, silvery glow, the gentle sound of the waves provided a soothing backdrop to the tender moment between Sebastian, Sofia, and Roberta. The three of them sat together, their hands intertwined, basking in the warmth of their newfound life.

Sofia, her eyes reflecting the stars above, turned to Sebastian with a soft smile. "You know," she began, her voice filled with a playful but sincere tone, "I've been thinking... I want us to have a family. I want to have three children—two girls and a boy."

Sebastian looked at her, his heart swelling with love. "Three children," he repeated, a smile spreading across his face. "I like the sound of that. We'll get to work on that dream, starting now."

Roberta, sitting on the other side of Sebastian, chuckled softly, her hand resting on her own growing belly. "Looks like you're going to be a busy man, Sebastian."

"Busy and happy," he replied, leaning over to kiss her cheek. "We'll build a family together, all of us. A new beginning, filled with love."

Sebastian, feeling the warmth of their love surrounding him, took each of their hands in his. "I never thought I'd be this lucky," he said quietly. "To have both of you here with me, to have a future to look forward to... It's more than I ever imagined."

Sofia smiled, leaning in to kiss him softly. "You deserve it, Sebastian. We all do."

Roberta nodded, her hand resting on her growing belly. "And our children will have a life filled with love, peace, and happiness."

As they shared this intimate moment, the sound of footsteps approaching drew their attention. It was Rock, who had stepped away to gather his thoughts. He walked up to Sebastian, a determined look on his face. "Sebastian," Rock said, his voice steady but filled with emotion, "I've made a decision. I'm going to propose to Revy." Sebastian's face lit up with pride and joy. He stood up, pulling Rock into a tight embrace. "That's my boy!" he exclaimed, his voice brimming with excitement. "Go for it, Rock. She's an incredible woman, and you two are perfect for each other."

Rock, feeling the support and encouragement from his friend, smiled. "Thanks, Sebastian. I'm nervous, but I know it's the right thing to do."

Sebastian playfully nudged him. "Just make sure you're ready for the wild ride ahead. And who knows? Maybe our kids will end up being best friends. Or... more."

At that moment, Revy appeared on the beach, her eyes slightly red from tears, but her face glowing with happiness. She approached Roberta and Sofia, who were sitting together, and threw her arms around them, her voice choked with emotion. "I'm so happy for you two," Revy said, her usual tough demeanor softened by the moment. "You've found something special here."

Sebastian watched the scene unfold, his heart swelling with pride. He turned to Rock, giving him a teasing grin. "You see? It's all falling into place. Now, you've got a lot to live up to, buddy."

Rock laughed, shaking his head. "Yeah, well, I'll give it my best shot."

As Revy joined the group, Sebastian couldn't resist teasing her a little. "Revy," he said, his voice laced with playful mischief, "if the marriage thing ever doesn't work out, you know there's always a place for you in my home."

Revy, blushing furiously, gave Sebastian a playful punch on the arm. "You're impossible, you know that?" she said, trying to suppress a smile.

Sebastian winked at her. "Just keeping my options open, Revy."

The group shared a laugh, the atmosphere light and filled with warmth. The night was sweet, filled with love, hope, and the promise of a beautiful future. As they all stood there, watching the waves roll in under the moonlight, they knew that they were on the brink of a new chapter in their lives—one that would be filled with joy, laughter, and the bonds they had forged together.

As the moon rose high in the sky, casting its silvery light over the three of them, they shared a final, gentle kiss. In that moment, they knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together.

Their pasts had shaped them, but it was their love that would define their future. And as they stood there, on the edge of the world, they knew that they had finally found peace—at last.
