Behind Closed Doors
Chapter 6
You're thirsty, I'll be rain
You get hurt, I'll take your pain.
I'll try forever
I'm never gonna say "Surrender".
I thought i was prepared for this moment. But Brooke walking down the aisle towards me.
That glow she has. The smile. The peace on her face.
That dress. Our eyes locked on each other.
I'll never be able to recapture that feeling and consuming love that i'm feeling on this day.
The expression on Lucas's face is just for me.
Our hands joined together.
The minister beginning to speak.
"Today we will witness the union of Lucas Eugene Scott and Brooke Penelope Davis."
"The couple have vows they would like to share with us today." He said. Before stepping back.
"We lived in different worlds took seperate paths and still found each other. Once you began apart of my life. I couldn't imagine you not in it. Us becoming friends. Falling in love."
"Was all supposed to happen. Our love story wasn't stable and had wrong turns at times. Our bond. Connection. Friendship. And all consuming love and support for each other got us here."
"And that will get us through anything and everything life throws our way. I will love honor and cherish you from this day forward." Lucas proclaimed. As he slipped the ring on her finger.
Brooke took a breath. Gazing back at him.
"You saw who i could be. What we could have before i did."
"The love. Safety. And calm. You brought into my world was new terrifying but something i couldn't resist."
"The walls around my heart fell once my feelings for you deepened."
"Falling in love with you changed my life."
"And I promise to protect support and love you with all i have." Brooke proclaimed. Slipping the ring on his finger.
"With vows said and promises made. If there is anyone who objects to this union speak now or forever hold you're peace." He announced.
Not seeing hands raised. He continued.
"By the power vested in me. I now prounounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss you're bride." He said.
Lucas smiled up at Brooke. Taking her in his arms.
Kissing her hard then again softly.
As the two made their way back down the aisle.
Brooke was beaming. Lucas couldn't stop smiling.
The crowd erupting in cheers.
...
The Reception Hall
Had the colors of blue. Gold. And white.
The guests had already filled the hall as the newly married couple were introduced.
The Scotts. The couple didn't take their eyes or hands off each other through their first dance and thoughout the evening.
Taking pictures. Talking with their guests.
Having their dinner and the cutting of the cake.
Eventually the couple made their exit.
Into a limo. That headed straight for the airport.
...
"Vickie leave it alone." Ted advised.
"I'm just going to talk to her." Victoria insisted.
"Victoria. I didn't expect to see you here." Peyton said.
"It's my daughter's wedding. Why exactly are you here?"
"I thought you're friendship with my daughter was ancient history." Victoria questioned.
"We've grown up and moved past high school drama."
"Brooke is my best friend." Peyton said innocently.
Victoria glared at the young woman.
"Let's hope you realize despite my mistakes as a mother."
"My daughter's happiness and peace of mind is priority one for me and my husband." Victoria proclaimed.
"Isn't that sweet you and Ted want to be parents all of a sudden." Peyton replied.
