So Worth It.
Chapter Two.
Previously in the last chapter.
All the pent-up anger and frustration inside Harry finally erupted like a volcano after hearing that snide remark. He was tired of everything that's been happening to him lately ever since his name came out of the Goblet of Fire. He was tired of the hostility, the bullying from both the students and professors and the extreme negativity he's been receiving. But most of all, he was tired of Delacour's snide remarks and her snobbish bitchy attitude.
Well, no more.
Harry has finally had enough of everything that's being happening to him lately. He was not going to let Delacour, the snobby bitch, get away with that snide remark of him giving up before the tasks even start. No, this was the last and final straw.
Harry was going to kill Delacour, and he will not give a damn about the consequences of his actions. It will be so worth it in the end.
With a snarl of absolute rage, Harry stood up, drew his wand from his robes, aimed it at the bitch who dared insult him ever since he became a champion on Halloween night against his own will and roared out the spell Professor Moody cast during the fourth year's first Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson with all the hate, anger and rage he can muster in his voice.
"AVADA KADAVRA!"
(In the Present; with Harry)
It had been so worth it.
That was the thought running through Harry's mind as he stared at the dead body of Fleur Delacour with cold indifference on his face, his wand still aimed at her, the tip releasing wisps of bright green smoke. He's taking great sadistic joy of seeing the absolute shock expression on her face and her wide deep blue eyes no longer have any life or light inside them, which caused the color to fade and become dull.
It was truly a wonderful sight to relish in.
Too bad not everyone else in the room shared the same sadistic views as Harry. In fact, they were very much shocked and horrified at what just occurred a few moments ago, especially Madame Maxime, the Headmistress of Beauxbatons, and Dumbledore.
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING OF CASTING THAT CURSE ON MISS DELACOUR, HARRY POTTER?!" Dumbledore yelled once he managed to regain his composure, which had been incredibly hard to do since he witnessed Harry Potter, the Boy-Who-Lived, the savior of the Magical World and the vanquisher of Lord Voldemort, cast the Killing Curse at Fleur Delacour, who was now dead.
Never in Dumbledore's old life had he ever expect to see Harry cast the same deadly curse many Death Eaters and Voldemort loved very much on innocent people throughout the first war. It was bringing back very painful memories, memories he didn't want to remember as they include seeing lifeless faces of all the innocent people who got murdered.
Dumbledore should've known Harry would harbor pent-up rage, anger and frustration inside him ever since Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang decided to make his life an official hell after his name came out of the Goblet of Fire, something that filled his heart with immense guilt and sorrow. He should've step in weeks ago to put an end to the hostility and bullying before it came much worse, but because he wanted to find the person responsible for placing Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire, he didn't bother to step in.
This proved to be a huge grave mistake and now…it incurred the most terrible price in the world.
The loss of an incredibly gifted young witch.
There was no doubt both Lord and Lady Delacour are going to be completely devastated the moment they learn their oldest daughter is dead while completely pissed at the person responsible for killing her. Dumbledore needs to prepare himself for the absolute heated conversation that will happen pretty soon in his office.
But first, Dumbledore needs to deal with Harry, who was still staring at Fleur Delacour's dead body with cold indifference on his face. The look chilled him to the bone as it reminded him of another student who had the same look, which grew more colder throughout the years at Hogwarts.
Not wanting to even think about that particular thought since it's so incredibly horrifying, Dumbledore got back into demanding an answer from Harry. "I won't ask you again, Harry Potter! What were you thinking of casting that curse on Miss Delacour?!"
"I was thinking I probably should've tortured snobby bitch first before casting the curse on her," Harry replied casually as if he didn't commit a murder while turning to face Dumbledore. "That way, I could have the chance to relish in her loud painful screams as happy memories for the Patronus Charm."
"That is no excuse or even an explanation!" Dumbledore yelled, blue eyes narrowing behind his half-moon glasses. He did not like Harry's causal tone. Not one bit. "Do you have any idea what will happen now after you casted the Killing Curse on Miss Delacour?!"
"Does it involve the Triwizard Tournament being cancelled?" Harry asked with curiosity and hope in his voice. "Because if it is, then I'm finally free from you fuckers and I don't have to lose my magic for all eternally. I can leave this dumb school for good and never come back."
"No, it involves you being sentenced to Azkaban for casting one of the Unforgivable Curses!"
Everyone who had somehow finally managed to regain their composure after seeing Harry Potter cast the Killing Curse at Fleur Delacour gained grim looks on their faces. Azkaban is definitely not the most friendliest place in the Magical World. It is basically the cold version of hell, given the guards were Dementors and always roaming around to make the prisoners lose both their sanity and happy memories.
It was very unheard of in the Magical World to have someone so young get sentenced to Azkaban for casting one of the Unforgivable Curses. This was honestly the first time in history…and everyone absolutely didn't like it at all. Harry Potter would not last even a single day in that horrible place because of the Dementors roaming around. He'll lose both his happy memories and sanity. Worse yet, he'll become a lifeless shell of his former self!
Everyone's rather unnerving thoughts about someone so young getting sentenced to Azkaban for casting one of the Unforgivable Curses came to a halt when Harry suddenly burst into booming laughter.
"What's so funny?" Dumbledore demanded, wondering why Harry was suddenly laughing. It was as if he had heard a really funny joke. There had been no jokes whatsoever.
"Isn't it obvious, Dumbledore?" Harry asked, continuing to laugh for a while before eventually calming down to answer Dumbledore. "I'm laughing at the fact you think I'm going to get sentenced to Azkaban after casting the Killing Curse on snobby bitch when I'm actually not. I have no intention whatsoever of going to that cold filthy place where I'll become a lifeless shell of my former self. I'd rather keep my looks, my sanity and my happy memories."
"You…honestly believe you're not going to get sentenced to Azkaban, Mr. Potter?" Dumbledore asked in stunned disbelief, his bright blue eyes wide as dinner plates. Did Harry honestly believe he can get out of the extreme troubling situation he's currently in after casting the Killing Curse at Fleur Delacour? If so, then not only he's such a fool, but also incredibly dumb. There was no way he is going to squirm his way out of the extreme troubling situation. It's completely impossible.
Too bad for Dumbledore Harry had thought out a really brilliant plan right before he burst into booming laughter. This plan would save him from being sentenced to Azkaban while making him drop out of Hogwarts for good at the same time. All he needs is to take a dose of Veritaserum, an exceedingly powerful Truth Potion that makes the verdict reveal their innermost secrets with complete honesty and truth.
Veritaserum is Harry's one-way ticket to freedom. He was going to get it one way or another, even if he has to be on the run from the Magical World.
"Yes, I am," Harry replied, his voice filled with such confidence, smugness and triumph it made everyone become wary. He believes he can squirm his way out of the extreme troubling situation. "I know I'm not going to get sentenced to Azkaban. There is a very good reason why and I'm going to prove it to you all."
Harry cannot wait to show everyone he can squirm his way out of the extreme troubling situation he's currently in when the Head of the DMLE arrives at Hogwarts pretty soon to wonder what the hell happened.
And done! That's the ending of the chapter! Harry has faced the consequences of casting the Killing Curse, which is being sentenced to Azkaban, but he has come up with a plan to prove his innocence. Will it work or will it fail? Find out in the next chapter.
Next chapter will be the finale of So Worth it. I'll get started on it as soon as possible. I need to think how to start it off and where to go from there. I'm sure it won't take long.
