Naomi was given some best wishes from Moniqa before leaving to deal with her "problem". Once she as home, Naomi saw Copen. He was behind a potted plant in the left of the hallway on the second floor. he had his back against the pot and was sitting on the floor.
His legs were folded in front his torso. Copen's feet were on the floor with his gun wielding right arm over his knees. Naomi knew that meant danger was nearby so she decided to teleport in front of Copen. He startled Naomi by cocking his gun and aiming it at her.
Upon noticing who it was, Copen lowered his weapon.
"What's going on?" Naomi whispered.
"I think we may have an enemy here. And whoever it is, I'm sure they're hiding in plain sight." Copen elaborated.
"Who do you think it is?" Naomi wondered.
"Akito is definitely hiding something, but I just can't seem to figure out what it is." Copen answered.
"Well, best of luck to ya. Meanwhile, I go tmy own battle to fight right now. Actually, I think Asimov said he would be here in a second." Naomi commented.
Sure enough, a minute later, Asimov walked in through the doors. The housekeeper was the first person to see the adult Azure Striker walk in through the door. She held the mop she had in a diagonal 'you shall not pass' position. Naomi slid down the rails after finding the stairs too slow.
"Thanks again for coming, I really can't thank you enough. Are you sure this was a good idea though? I know he doesn't remember you, but still. You know how dangerous he is.
His Septima Sealer Bullits are even more lethal than Copen's Greed Snatcher ones. Since he's worked with Adepts for so long, he has a better grasp on Septima workings and therefore, how to seal them. And Copen's Bullits are actually based on Carrera's Septima. Which makes no sense when you seal a Septima by using one." Naomi droned.
"I heard that you know. And just for the record, I'm more dangerous than whoever it is you're talking about. By making Septima sealing Bullits from a Septima makes me more intelligent." Copen declared.
"If you met who we were talking about you'd be apologizing right about now." Naomi cautioned.
"Do you know where he is right now?" Asimov inqueried.
"My best guess is he's somewhere here or at S-FIT. I've never seen him anywhere other than those two places." Naomi answered.
"Where do you think he would be now?" Asimov questioned.
"At this time, our best bet's the basement. But be careful, he's got an itchy trigger finger. Not that you'd know about it or anything." Naomi stated, whispering the last part to herself.
She led her boss quietly down to the basement. Sure enough, the target had his back turned to them while studying a file on the workbench. However, the tables and opponent turned as soon as they set foot on the floor. As expected, the gun was aimed at Naomi. But the enemy's glare was directed at Asimov, who soon saw the gun barrel.
"Did you forget your opponent? Or is he more top priority than I am?" Naomi retorted.
"What ever made you think such a ridiculous thing?" Dr. Kamizono wondered.
"I was lab created wasn't I? What about the woman that's supposed to be my mother? And there's a girl that may be a clone of Mytyl. Why did you hide your hatred of me during the day, only to experiment on me? Don't think I'm not aware of it." Naomi snarled.
That was when Naomi decided to transform, hoping to be intimidating so she could get som e answers.
"You were never lab created. Although, I do think I know who you're talking about. you were referring to Joule, am I correct?" Dr. Kamizono realized.
"So, she really is a clone. I looked at a photo earlier and saw that mom has some purple to her hair. It would explain Joule's red eye color too. Why do you hide your hatred of Adepts from Mytyl and I?" Naomi interrogated.
"It's not as much a hatred of Adepts as it is Septimas. Those abilities will lead to our destruction if not properly understood and suppressed. Nobody knows how to control or use them. But, Sumeragi is making a monopoly of Glaives and other Septima tech.
Even though there is the rare case that an Adept may be strong enough to exercise their Septima while a Glaive's seal is still in use. What truly concerns me is how not just Sumeragi, but other companies as well claim that Glaives perform well, only to falsify the truth." Dr. Kamizono claimed.
Naomi now believed that anything this man said could be false, and to tread lightly.
"Then what about the experimentation last night? I thought you stopped working for them!" Naomi fumed.
"I don't understandwhat you're talking about. Are you possibly referring to the old Project Gunvolt files?" Dr. Kamizono questioned.
"Last night, I was stuck in S-FIT, confined to that room by straps on an operating table. There was blinding surgical lights above me. I looked down to see that there was three black straps. I heard footsteps approaching from the hall so I tried to free myself.
That's when I saw you and your assistant walk in. Mr. Yamato was cleaning a scalpel with a white cloth. I looked down to my let and saw a bunch of tools on one of those weird looking silver trays. That hook one definitely startled me.
You were tampering with some anesthetic tank. After a moment, Mr. Yamato handed you the scalpel and traded places. I did not like where that thing landed. My skin and muscles split like a rubber band cut with scissors.
And my blood spilled like a warmly flowing waterfall. The gas made sure I didn't feel any pain. Once the gash was made, I blacked out. I woke up in a glass tube, I still hate those things.
Anyways, I saw you talking with Mr. Yamato and you said something strange. You said 'Move her to testing room three. We can't have this end like Takefutsu.' What was that supposed to mean?" Naomi seethed.
"Takefutsu was Sumeragi's first ever attempt at implanting a Septima into a human being. It was successful, but he destroyed S-FIT during an experiment." Dr. Kamizono explained.
"Did that experiment on me last night actually happen?" Naomi worried.
"An update had to be made to your chip. Concerns were some of your other Septimas would interfere with the capabilities of your tracker." Dr. Kamizono responded.
"All of that, for a four inch scar on my chest, seriously? Why not a minimal incision? It isn't even that big of a chip. The cut could've been an inch and a half easily." Naomi huffed.
"I was hoping we could come to an agreement. You give me Naomi's custody and we can go in peace. If there is any resistance, my gun will pierce right through it." Asimov warned.
"Did you not just hear him!? I'm not lab created so you don't need to do any of that!" Naomi panicked.
"It would still be better for you rather than to continue staying here." Asimov advised.
"What is that supposed to mean exactly?" Dr. Kamizono remarked.
"This is an unsafe environment for Naomi to be staying would be much better off staying somehwere else." Asimov assured.
"How can you believe you have the right to say that? Especially when the missions you give her are so dangerous/' Dr. Kamizono reminded.
"Move." Naomi whispered.
Asimov moved back 5 paces, just before two Greed Snatcher Bullites were fired from the upstairs hallway. If Asimov wasn't advised to move, his Septima would've been sealed. naomi took a quick glance upstairs to let the culprit know they'd been spotted.
"I'll be right back." Naomi notified as she went upstairs.
Naomi found Copen sitting directly in front the railing a foot away from the right side of the hall. His legs were folded over each other in a meditative position.
"I should've pulled you downstairs by the ear at this point. You have no decency or respect. Not for others, not for your name and cetainly none for yourself." naomi commented.
"I hardly think we can change our names, let alone the meaning of them." Copen doubted.
Naomi seated herself next to Copen and positioned herself the same way he was sitting.
"What do you think our name means? What do you feel it represents?" Naomi pondeed.
"It represents honesty, honor, upholding order, truth, trustworthiness and an unwavering sense of justice." Copen declared.
"Well, let me break it to you now. You've lied to Mytyl. We have no honor. Everything here is chaos. You are not trustworthy and there is nothing about I'd trust. And your sense of justice is more warped than Mario." Naomi ranted.
"Alright then, what do you think about it? Since you appear ever so insistent on sharing your opinion." Copen retorted.
"You don't want to know. I'm sorry I said anything, you're right. I'm going back down before this turns into another psychotic firefight." Naomi hushed before returning downstairs.
Lola quietly hovered beside Copen and watched as Naomi went downstairs.
"You know boss, I think she's right." Lola agreed.
"About what?" Copen inqueried.
"That your sense of justice is more twisted than a pretzel!" Lola answered.
"What are you doing?" Mytyl sked while standing to the left of Copen who was watching everything downstairs.
"Mytyl, do you think my sense of justice is wrong?' Copen questioned.
"If you don't know, just go ask mom! She'll give you an earful too!" Naomi shouted from the 1st floor.
Copen stood up, placed his right hand on the banister and gave Naomi a disapproving look.
"Don't think I'm scared of that, or you! I've gotten so many looks like that I'm used to it by now!" Naomi teased.
Copen left to go downstairs into the basement. Lola stayed at the stairs, wondering whether she should go down or not. Eventually, Lola went down and hovered near Naomi's right shoulder. Naomi saw the red out the corner of her eye and instantly assumed it was Copen. When she turned to look however, naomi got startled when she realized it was Lola.
"Is it bad if I still got scared when I saw you? I thought you were Copen All I saw was the red." Naomi rambled.
"He's been acting strange since he found out about you working for both Sumeragi and QUILL. Copen's been angrier, less talkative and more isolated." Lola elucidated.
"I'll talk to him about that later. But for now, we'd better deal with this." Naomi answered.
Asimov didn't pull out his gun, and it didn't seem like the Border wasn't going to be used either.
"You know what? We've all had a stressful day. I think a break is in order. I'll be home later, bye." Naomi rambled as she walked towards the exit.
But when she turned around, Naomi saw Asimov had his hands behind his back, knowing a fight was about to go down, Naomi ran upstairs and practically shoved her siblings out of the way. Copen was on the left and rabbed the handrails. Naomi ran and threw her bedroom door open. Once Naomi got what she was looking for, it was a blurred rush downstairs. At the bottom of the stairs, Naomi whipped out her sword which was turned into a gun.
"Please, nobody make me use this. I want it to be just or show as much as anybody else." Naomi cautioned.
"Why is the Glaive device from your sword removed?" Dr. Kamizono interogated.
Naomi hid the sword in the sheath behind her back.
"Sword? What sword? I have a Glaive." Naomi stuttered nervously.
"I had another of my employees emove it. It was too risky having a piece of Sumeragi equipment in the same facility as my employees." Asimov rebuked.
"Then why do you allow a Sumeragi employee who is currently holding twenty positions in your building?" Dr. Kamizono wondered.
"Because she's certainly more trustworthy than any other Sumeragi employee, esecially you." Asimov responded.
"Um, boss, those are fighting words." Naomi squeaked.
"He wouldn't be worth the ammo." Asimov denied.
"Well, it was nice seeing you boss. I'll be back at HQ later." Naomi muttered, hoping her boss would take the hint. Luckily, he did. When Asimov finally left, Naomi breathed a sigh of relief. Now though, she had to deal with Copen, which was another thing Naomi didn't like.
"Why did you do that!? You see what I meant!? Nobody with honor randomly starts fights!" Naomi snapped.
"Your existence started enough of them already." Copen retorted.
Copen gave Naomi a very angry look.
"And this is why Lola prefers working with me over you." Copen remarked.
"Joke's on you, Lola prefers Mytyl over both of us." Naomi teased.
"I prefer either of them over you." Copen snarled.
"Same here." Naomi seethed.
They both went their separate ways. Naomi went downstairs to the basement with Lola while Copen went upstairs to see Mytyl.
"You and Copen definitely aren't my favorites. You both fight too much." Lola rebuked.
"It's just what siblings do. That's been pre-ordained. They're all in a constant battle for resources, where the strongest survive. Even animals do it. Though we're not any different, especially me it seems." Naomi assured.
"Is it always so brutal?" Lola wondered.
"It depends on the situation, really." Naomi answered.
"Would it explain the death battles or Mytyl's book stealing?' Lola inqueried.
"I think that's a battle for attention. I prefer to be left alone. Just reading books and better off forgotten." Naomi stated.
"Then why did you create me?" Lola pondeed.
"So I could have someone around that would enjoy similar things as me. And if I got in a fight, having some help would lessen the odds of injury. That's why I'm surprised Copen didn't notice that the drive being compatible with my Septimas was intentional." Naomi lectured.
"Do you think he's still confused about mytyl being or not being an Adept?" Lola reminded.
"He'll be figuring it out for himself because I'm not telling him." Naomi fumed.
"Why are you two so against what the other's doing anyways?" Lola asked.
"Well, he's a cold blooded killer who deems Adepts to be impure planet tainting monsters and is even willing to eliminate them all. I, on the other hand, want Adepts to live, get rights and cooperate and peacefully coexist with humans. Copen thinks Adepts will be the downfall of humanity. But my beliefs are Adepts can be a good thing to unite people.
Sadly, Adepts are only united against humans and Sumeragi. Luckily, QUILL has some humans and Adepts that can work together. Sumeragi does the same thing, just with different reasons. QUILL wants to unite both humans and Adepts while Sumeragi wants only Adepts to remain.' Naomi explained.
"Then why do they have humans running everything?" Lola inqueried.
"Maybe Jeremy could help us figure that one out." Naomi supposed as she grabbed her phone.
Eventually, Jeremy answered.
"Naomi? What are you doing? It's eight fifteen in the morning over here." Jeremy questioned.
"Having a problem. You remember Joule? Turns out she's a lab created clone of my sister." Naomi notified.
"She what!?" Jeremy shouted.
Naomi heard the door to Jeremy's room bust open.
"Are you okay Einstein!?" Ulrich worried.
"We defeated Xana, didn't we?" Odd remembered.
"You remember Naomi's sister Mytyl? Apparently Joule is a clone of her." Jeremy informed.
"That can't be right, can it?" Ulrich doubted.
"I never noticed, but my mom has a bit of purple in her hair. And my dad's eyes are red. So, that was a theory from Asimov which actually got confirmed. Which means I may have a second sister and Copen's really outnumbeed.
"Would you, really be okay with that? Having Joule as a sister, I mean." Jeremy commented.
"If that really is the case, Joule can date when she's forty one and I'll be getting an apartment to keep an eye on her." Naomi assured.
Naomi could hear Yumi and Aelita laughing in the background.
"Oh yeah? Well, keep that up Pinky and we'll see who's laughing when you and Joule are stuck living with me." Naomi huffed.
"I like sleeping over with you just fine." Aelita smiled.
"Fine? That's it? Because last time I hecked you and Yumi had a battle until one of you got devirtualized about who would sleep over again." Jeremy reminded.
"Jeremy, what did I tell you about lying?" Aelita hissed.
Now it was Naomi's turn to cackle.
"Do you still want Aelita for a sister?" Odd wondered.
'Yeah, I need somebody to replace Copen. I swear the guy's intolerble sometimes." Naomi teased.
"At least I'm better than Gunvolt." Copen retorted.
"He's a lot nicer than you are. You kill because you can and GV does it out of necessity." Naomi stated.
"At least I'm not an Adept." Copen denied.
'I'm sure anything beats being you." Naomi snapped.
"Woah!" the boys exclaimed.
"Sorry about that. You know how it is to have an annoying younger brother, right Yumi? I hope you don't give your sistes too much grief Odd." Naomi answered.
