Chapter Text

She was having trouble sleeping. It was becoming increasingly difficult for her to sleep in the new environment. It felt as though she was a child once again, lost from her home and placed in a new space where she knew nothing.

The bed was soft, but it felt empty. It was a nook from which she just wanted to escape.

Hinata felt like her stomach was tying up in knots, and she wanted something to eat.

It was 3 am she frustratedly sighed and went towards the kitchen to eat something the maids were asleep so she just opened the fridge and saw some cakes or bread some leftovers from dinner.

As Sasuke arrived home from a long day of work, the guard greeted him and opened the ornate main door of his expansive mansion. Eager to unwind, Sasuke shouldered his bag and watched as his car pulled away to the garage located at the rear of the estate.

Intent on heading to his room, a faint glimmer of light caught his eye from the kitchen area. This was peculiar, as his mother usually retired early each night, well before this time. With the maids likely already retired to their own quarters, the presence of anyone in the kitchen was unexpected.

He slowly walked towards the kitchen and saw a glimpse of midnight hair and a small silhouette. The pale hands were trying to grab the jam from the top shelf. She was so small and fragile that her hands could barely touch the high shelf.

Sasuke's eyes widened as he had never seen a young girl in his house before. He hurriedly went towards her and harshly grabbed her wrist, stopping her from any further movement.

"Who are you and what are you doing in my house?"

"I am Hinata Hyuga," she tried to answer. Sasuke's eyebrows knitted as he could not make out what she was trying to say, since her voice was barely audible.

He was tired from his work and was not in the mood to deal with an intruder in his house.

"Come on, damn it, answer me. I am not here for your shy girl aura."

He pressed her wrist in a harsh manner which led to a scream from her lungs her lavender eyes carried a sense of pain and frightened in them.

"Sasuke, what are you doing?" He turned to see his mother standing behind him, rubbing her eyes, still in a sleepy daze.

Certainly! Here's the rewritten text:

"Who is this girl in our kitchen, Mother!?" Sasuke practically shouted.

"Not now, Sasuke. Oh my god, Hinata, dear, are you okay?" Mikoto rushed to Hinata's side and gently touched the young girl's wrist, which had turned slightly red from the earlier harsh touch.

Mikoto soothingly rubbed Hinata's wrist and gave him a tired look.

"She is Hinata Hyuga. She will be staying with us for a while. I'll explain everything to you in the morning. It's late now, you should go to bed," Mikoto informed.

"But Mother, I..." Sasuke started, but Mikoto didn't let him finish.

Mikoto took Hinata by the hand and led her into her room.

"Who are you hinata?'

The following morning was a significant event for Sasuke. Mikoto had been pressuring him to apologize to Hinata, and within the next 10 minutes, he was finishing up his breakfast.

"Apologize to her," Mikoto said, her voice tinged with disappointment as she once again gave her son a cold glare. She couldn't believe that her son had become so cold-hearted. After Fugaku's death, he had become a loner, isolated and left alone by his surroundings. This was not how she had raised him.

She always had concerns about Sasuke. At 25, she felt that he was approaching middle age and should have been married by now.

The apartment was filled with a heavy silence, accentuating the feeling of isolation.

Love can be like a gamble, a rollercoaster ride where we may feel lost. It's a journey that's unique for everyone.

He was a Leo, concealing his fierce pride beneath a veil of deep emotions.

His eyes held a profound and haunting sense of solitude, akin to the moon veiled behind a delicate, translucent curtain.

His thoughts was interrupted when he caught sight of Hinata stepping down the stairs. She was adorned in a lavender maxi skirt paired with a full-sleeved blouse. Her hair was elegantly tied up in a neat ponytail this time. As he gazed at her, he couldn't help but notice the sparkle in her eyes; she resembled a tiny rabbit.

"Good morning, Uchiha-san," she greeted Mikoto and then took a seat without even acknowledging Sasuke, who was standing in front of her.

"About last night, I would like to apologize for my be—-"

"It's fine," her tone was no longer soft; it sounded more like an order, a dismissal.

"Listen to me first. "

It's fine, it's your house. You didn't know it was me, and how can I blame you? So stop apologizing to me. It's of no use."

The cold air wrapped around them, leaving him stunned by the unexpected words from Hinata. He never anticipated that a gentle and delicate girl like her would speak to him in such a manner.

Hinata was truly shocked by her own attitude.

She was always the soft one.

This was the first time she was talking to someone in a confident manner.

The words "You are not even listening to me! Look at me when I am talking to you; you should have this much courtesy. Didn't your parents teach you anything?" felt like a venomous sting to Hinata.

Sasuke seemed just as unyielding as a rock, and Hinata's actions were beginning to grate on his nerves. As the atmosphere grew heavy, Mikoto let out a small cough. Trying her best to lower the tension that seem to lingered between the two young adults who were staring at each other.

"Hinata, why don't you try this freshly squeezed orange juice?" Mikoto extended the glass of juice to Hinata, who responded with a small, grateful smile. Meanwhile, Sasuke rolled his eyes in mild irritation.

"Mother, I am leaving for work," Sasuke announced as he got up from his chair.

"Hina, I may see him off. You enjoy your breakfast," Mikoto said as she brushed her palms on Hinata's shoulder before Sasuke and she went to the main door.

"Sasu?" Mikoto called.

"Yes, Mother?"

"Hinata will be staying with us for a long time. Please take care of her documents. She is still a student and is only 19, so she will be attending the university.

Please take care of everything and be nice to her. She has suffered a lot."

Sasuke pressed his bridge and sighed softly. He hugged Mikoto before leaving. "I may go now, and yes, I will take care of the documents."

Sasuke had a deep affection for his mother and Itachi; they were his only remaining family members.

Mikoto was his only weakness along with itachi.

Hinata was the bane of his existence.

As soon as sasuke reached his office he asked his secretary naruto to dig onto her background information.

He was sitting on his chair and looked onto some document as his next meeting was scheduled in few hours he needed silence but here naruto was eating his head.

"I'll search for her information, but one thing you need to tell me first - is she beautiful?" Naruto asked, wiggling his eyebrows mischievously.

Sasuke sighed and gave an irritated glare to Naruto. He was so tired and didn't come to the office to be questioned by Naruto; it was the last thing he wanted to do today.

"I don't know. I guess her eyes are lavender, and she has long hair if that's pretty according to you," he answered and again looked at his paperwork.

"I don't find you fun, Sasuke. She lives in your house and you don't even know if she's pretty or not. It seems like Sakura is the only one you find pretty. Well, yes, Sakura is pretty, but tell me, does Hinata have big or small boobs?"

Naruto asked once again, prompting Sasuke to feel the urge to kick him.

Sasuke's mouth was wide open after hearing this stupid question. He was talking to Naruto for the last time today. He didn't have any motivation to talk to this stupid blonde anyway.

"Like as if I care. Just get me her information before this day ends."
